A Place Called Home Empty A Place Called Home

Post by Copycat on Mon Aug 06, 2018 1:43 pm

Kanna's quick to make her first-thing visit be to her residence within Konoha. Once she's gotten there, she immediately removes the belt keeping her cloak secure, and at that point she allows her cloak to fall slack. That's only among many of things that she has to remove, though. The Chuunin gets to work, proceeding to take off her leather armguards, followed by the knee-length boots she has on. After she casts those aside, Kanna throws off her finger less gloves, and soon removes her leggings.

The high-collared shirt comes next before she's actually entirely undressed, with the backpouch and kunai holster still locked in place upon her pants. Naturally, her underclothing comes next, and she's promptly strolling on into her bathroom, opening the door to slip on in and closing it behind her. She turns on the shower head and just heads beneath it, pushing her messy locks aside as soon as they've gotten wet. The female stands under the water for the time being, mostly just lamenting on what occurred.

Kanna shuts her eyes and stays silent, hugging her arms around her body. She mostly just does her best to avert her thoughts from seeing their corpses again, but it's far too clear for her to omit it from her mind. She snaps her eyes back open at that point, peering at the bottom of the shower to avoid seeing it in the far more vivid fashion it appeared to her as soon as she shut her eyes. With a definitive bitterness overtaking her, the female sinks to a crouch. Rather than crying, or being mad, she just stares at the same spot from her now hunched position, her body curled up as best as it can while upright. As the image starts fading from her head at last, Kanna averts her focus from her troubles. She slowly elevates her body again, allowing her inky black threads to tear forth from the base of her palms, eliciting a wince from her. They snake on forward, grasping at both the soap and washcloth within arm's length of her, and beginning to clean her body in her hands' stead. They dedicate themselves to scrubbing away the dirt, while she dedicates herself to scrubbing away the ill thoughts.

Honestly, she felt like a failure of a leader. Their lives should've been more of a priority than her own. If she'd just protected them instead of making the split second decision she did, or instead of being rash, then they could've been saved. She thought they had it under control--that they could get away. But that just didn't end up being the case. And she had no excuse for it. It was an unacceptable screw-up on her behalf. There was no aversion of blame for their deaths. Both her and the coalition's assailant were to blame. "... I can only try to make it better next time. To be strong enough for next time..." She murmurs to herself, just about finishing up with scrubbing herself from head to toe. She washes the soap off and turns the shower head off, moving on out and wrapping a towel around her frame. Kanna trails out of the bathroom and shuts the door behind her, taking a seat at her bedside and peering at the plethora of makeup and such upon the night table. After some contemplation, she ultimately decides to go ahead and not go with her basic look. After all, she wasn't going on another mission anytime soon (hopefully).

With that mindset, Kanna decides to express her current emotions in full. Between drying off and applying makeup on more of a Gothic side, it takes about an hour and a half before she's actually done with her little 'transformation' so to speak. After giving herself a little look in a hand-held mirror, the female pulls her hair up into a small bun, letting the rest fall to frame her face in the form of locks. It was a mature look that definitely made her look older than she was, but that was in a good way. Upon completion of that process, Kanna simply throws on a pair of black arm warmers, matching knee socks and shorts, and a murky, purple off-the-shoulder top with a fishnet area just past the chest, guiding itself to her neck.

Accentuating the outfit was a spider-oriented hairpin, she runs blood red lipstick around her lips as a small little final touch, before heading over to retrieve her kunai holster and hip pouch. Once she's placed those upon her frame, she heads for the door, deciding that it'd be best to find something to distract her.

A Place Called Home Empty Re: A Place Called Home

Kanna returns to her home in silence, keeping her arm covered to the best of her degree for most of the way. From the moment she enters the door she locks it behind her, of course, and heads on into the bathroom to sanitize the burns. Rather than using alcohol, the Chuunin runs cold water over it, applying some soap to it directly and just giving it some time to properly be removed of any germs it was in direct contact. Over the course of the five minute period in which she let the water run over it, she slowly applied some of her Ijutsu to it again, flowing the green energies over the burns to treat them a little more.

Healing it in intervals was the best thing she could do. As soon as she started to notice that she was getting a little more delayed with her healing, she stops, deciding to give it a rest. As she begins to apply some soothing cream to the scorched skin in question, the woman starts to reflect upon her interactions for the past few days. She'd met two new Genin, both of which were interesting in nature. One had been gifted access to the Eight Inner Gates, and although she was confident, had the talent to back up that confidence. On another hand there was the other Genin who she'd met, who was raised by wolves and as a result didn't have too good English, but was also incredibly gifted at Taijutsu as a result of being unable to use chakra normally.

It was an interesting dynamic, and it honestly made her feel good to be helping out the rookies. Kanna peers up at the mirror as she starts to wrap her arm in bandages to cover up the now cream-lathered wound, frowning a little bit at her appearance. Now that she was starting to slowly think positively again, just looking at herself in the mirror made her feel so.. gloomy. So much dark, foreboding makeup. It was an unhealthy look for her, but it matched just how down in the dumps she was, and she'd been subconsciously applying it in the same way for awhile now.

Not wanting to keep looking like shit, the female starts to remove her makeup, working away at the process intently. After a good deal of time spent, Kanna peers at herself within the mirror, letting out a breath of fresh air upon seeing her usual old self. She's removed the eerie black contacts as well, leaving her amber gaze to shift about as she analyzed her facial features. Satisfied, the Chuunin strides from the bathroom of her home, off to do something productive to keep her mind off of things.

A Place Called Home Empty Re: A Place Called Home

Kanna slips on into her home after a rather quick departure from the morgue within the hospital. She unravels the scroll within her grasp and drops it upon her bed, proceeding to slap her palm against the surface of the seal in the scroll. Upon injecting chakra into it from physical contact, the jiongu thread-covered heart is summoned forth, nice and preserved for her to effectively utilize. There was still limited time for her to get it sealed away in her, so she had to pick up the pace.

With that in mind, the female forms the clone handseal, and channels half of her chakra into the technique. In a plume of gray smoke, a shadow clone is formed, and positions itself behind her at that point in time. The Chuunin pulls the straps of her blouse down and brings it beneath her chest, proceeding to lean forward a little bit. The shadow clone goes ahead and retrieves an ink brush and some ink itself, then gets to work on inscribing the seal.

The seal itself begins to be etched into her skin, the ink delicately applied to it to make sure that the seal is properly constructed. By the time it's done, the kanji for 'Fire Release' has been printed upon the upper left part of her back, surrounded by a circle with numerous symbols and marks to effectively form the miniature sealing formula required to complete the process. After drying it, the clone gets to the real task at hand. Upon completion of this, the shadow clone fetches the thread-covered heart, removing the threads themselves so that it's just holding onto the heart itself.

From there, the clone forms numerous handseals with its single hand while holding the heart in the other, before grasping onto the heart with that very hand. Resting the heart between her own palm and the dried sealing formula itself, chakra is injected into the heart as well as the formula, and thus in a plume of smoke it's sealed away. The seal itself remains partially locked as per her own choice, solely for the purpose of allowing the chakra necessary to leak out, and still effectively giving her the heart she needed. Upon completion, Kanna allows the shadow clone to disperse in a plume of smoke, and she keeps the top-half of her blouse down for now, just in case the ink has to dry some more.

"I should add a trigger later down the line. Just so that it automatically unseals itself if something is to happen to my own heart."

She sits there for a little longer, then stands up and inhlaes briefly. Slowly but surely, she focuses her chakra output on her back, and starts to use the leaking chakra, intermixing it with her own. Slowly but surely she begins the kneading process, just trying to do her best to imagine and apply the properties of Fire to her chakra. Kanna forms half of the Ram handseal, helping the channeling of her chakra as it gradually flows to her two elevated fingertips. Slowly but surely, her energies flicker to life, flames igniting upon the tips of them.

Kanna's shocked for a moment, but when it becomes evident that she isn't feeling immense pain from her fingers being on fire it registers within her; it worked. It was all true. The hearts. Getting her own hearts. Placing them upon or within her body. It all worked! She had her own element now! Well... sure she stole it from a guy dying to a plague but she was told to. And as Yami had said, the male's passion would live on within her. The kinjutsu in itself was extremely unorthodox, but when put that way it sounded noble--letting someone live on within you.

She snuffs the flames out by dispersing the flow of chakra, and then sighs briefly. Still sucked that the plague had taken more lives; often times things felt lonely in the village. And while Kanna liked having the free time to train and read and basically do whatever, socializing was something everyone needed. Whether "monster" or human, the healthy benefits from building bonds is built into the sentient. She still missed Ayumi despite not knowing her for any longer beyond a mission. She still missed the six Chuunin that she failed to save.

Even if she carried pieces of others within her, at the end of the day it just became a reminder that they were gone. It seemed as though as time went on, she became less fearful of death and more fearful of loss. Maybe that was why she'd become so dejected towards others, and opted to avoid building any serious bonds with others. Just being someone's teacher or instructor was enough, because she knew it wouldn't last. After all, she's just a Chuunin; it's only a matter of time before they'd get assigned to a Jounin. Both Sachiko and Yui, for that matter. So keeping herself detached was the best way to go. Even if she felt her old tendencies of trying to eagerly help others swarming towards her.

And all of this was all because of that excuse for a human. The inhuman filth that torched her comrades for the sake of some shitty religion, some asinine belief, some garbage ass desire for a 'new world'. She'd corroded those children in the process, one of which who thought she understood. One of which who thought that the entire world deserved to be purged all because of a few meatheads in a village. It was fucking stupid. And it was complete manipulation on that snake woman's behalf.

Just thinking about it made her blood boil in the way she thought it would when her fingers set ablaze. All of that passion and immature, young belief that everything was fine---and the goal to help the village strive, all of it had burned away just like them, leaving behind a woman who couldn't even muster the courage to try and rebuild the bridges that had been burnt. Fear coupled with distress and desire for vengeance against someone she'd only met once. It was incredibly unhealthy, but if she didn't fixate her rage to that woman it'd be directed to the very village she cares about, and probably even the accomplices of hers that didn't know any better.

    "I just need power..."

She tenses her hand into a fist, clenching her teeth for a moment, before slowly ascending. After that opportunity to reflect and what not, Kanna just tries to slip away from her negative thoughts. The Chuunin steadily brings the top of her blouse back over her upper body, assuring it's on snug like before. Afterwards, the woman inhales, rolling the scroll on the bed up and tucking it away, before going to attend to other things.

'Just... focus on something else for now.' Kanna muses with a sense of finality in her thoughts, before making her way from her home at last.
