A Chance Meeting (Shin) Empty A Chance Meeting (Shin)

It was a warm day, the sun shining brilliantly without a cloud to threaten it in the sky, as the golden haired kunoichi of the Yuki clan walked briskly down the streets of Kirigakure. Her deep purple kimono sprinkled with an intricate flower design swayed with her movements and her ninja high-heeled sandals clacked against the cobble road. Sakura was on her way to the Kirigakure Library before she went to the training area, wanting to check out two books, one covering a list of basic jutsu for Ninjutsu and the other for Fuuinjutsu. It didn’t take her long, slender legs too much time to reach her first destination, a smile lighting up her visage as the library came into the sight of her chocolate orbs.

“Good morning, Nanami-san! How are you today?” Her cheerful voice broke through the otherwise quiet building as she stepped through the doorway, not loud enough to actually disturb any of the patrons but enough for the brunette sitting at the front desk to hear it.

The woman’s face brightened as her oceanic eyes laid upon the person entering, “Good morning, Sakura-chan! Glad to see you here again! I’m doing well, how are you?” Her voice was sweet as honey while she greeted the Yuki, eagerly awaiting her answer.

“I am also doing well, Nanami-san! I’ll be checking out a few books today to use at the training grounds!” Her bubbly reply came to the gentle clerk as she passed by her, giving a soft wave of her hand as she did so, to head to the bookshelves that lined the walls and middle area of the library. Having been there countless times before, Sakura already knew where the books in question were so locating them was a breeze, taking but a few moments to find the accurate sections. She spent a couple of minutes per section browsing through the options, wanting to pick the best encyclopedia’s for her training.

Once she was satisfied with the two hardcover bounds of paper she had decided on, she walked back to the front desk in order for Nanami to add the two to her name in the library system. “Thank you and have a great day, Nanami-san!” She waved excitedly while walking out the door, smiling as Nanami waved back at her in farewell. The two would seem each other soon enough when Sakura visited the library next, which wouldn’t be too far from now considering she loved to expand her knowledge on anything and everything.

With the books clutched tightly in her hands the Yuki was off to the training area, zigzagging through clusters of people as the streets were beginning to get crowded. It was about ten in the morning now, a typical time for even the civilians to be going about their usual daily routines. She didn’t mind the bustling people or the noisy chatter they created, the white noise of excited voices was soothing. The smile never left her face as she made quick work of the distance to her second destination for the day, which was beginning to fill up as more shinobi were deciding to work on bettering themselves.

As she walked through the field her eyes scanned the area for the perfect spot to read and practice, a few shinobi were training fire techniques with large blasts of fireballs to her left and to her right were wind techniques with razor slices cutting through multiple practice dummies at once. She continued forward until a lone tree caught her attention in the back center area of the grounds, away from the dangers of the elemental users but still within close proximity of the main throngs of people practicing. Within seconds she was at the tree, sitting against its trunk with her back leaned against it and her legs bent slightly at the knees so she could lay the book against them while she read.

The first book she was going to read and practice was the Ninjutsu one, particularly its sections on suiton jutsu. She had already learned four water techniques thus far, but still had quite a few left before she was finished with all of the lower ranked jutsu. That thought motivated her to begin her reading, so she picked up the light yellow hard cover and flipped through it until she found a name she didn’t know as her eyes scanned the pages.
