Honiko sat on her dragon summon Thorn indian-style. The dragon was smaller than Balerion but was sufficiently large so as to support her weight. The dragon flapped its wings and maintained its height as its summoner gazed at the two competitors. Honiko was watching from a high point, slightly behind and above the entire arena. Those in the stands could see her if they turned around and looked upwards. She did not care for them nor was she here to interfere or disrupt. She was only here to observe and provide spiritual support to her disciple. The Dragon Sage's sight was impeccable and she could see minor movements of the lips indicating that the two shinobi were talking. Honiko couldn't make out what was the subject matter but that didn't concern her, she knew that Nozomi wasn't here to parlay or negotiate with heretics and false Jashinists.

Yui and Yua were happy to see Shimiko ready to battle, but they felt conflicted, she was technically fighting a friend and they knew how hard this would be on her. As they took a seat there were many people watching, she was not surprised as these two had been the finalists after all. Still, something made them feel uneasy either way in their black cheer outfits with red pom poms they would begin to cheer loudly for Shimiko like that had in her past matches.

    "Shimiko you can do it, GO GO S H I M I K O."

As they continued to cheer loudly they had some glares but they ignored them, even if someone was brazen enough to attack them it would be a dire mistake on their behalf. The twins inside Kumo had become known as members of the Jashin religion openly and actively promoting it to the masses. It had saved their lives so the least they coudl do was save the lives of the others. If it had not been for her and the church the twins likely would have died or become some sort of sex slave ton whatever man had five ryo to give them. The thoughts still crossed their mind of the things he made them do.

Raijin appeared alongside Honiko's clone and the dragon summon Thorn. They didn't exactly cheer for one another. The Society was made up of individuals with that type of mentality. He was there to see true power at work. Both women fighting were in a league of their own. It would be important for him to pick up on how the higher Kumo ninja fought. He had never been trained by any of them. Maybe because they were busy, or lazy. Or just did not want to. Nozomi would be taking some revenge for him in that light. Standing beside the Dragon he could hear another person cheering for the Kumo Jounin Shimiko. Raijin ignored her, as his attention as on the match...and Honiko. He would spare a glance in her direction, but as usual she paid him no mind. The game continues. He thought to himself.

The fight started and progressed quickly. Lady Superior Mora was sitting next to the twins. Some of her Sacristans were seated adjacent to her and they prayed silently for their Defender's victory. For the vast majority of spectators, Mora included, the match would be an invisible flurry of blood, petals, lightning, and water. The sound of thunder and the rush of waves could be heard even amidst the loud yelling of the crowd. Neither competitor was exactly a "crowd favorite". Jashinism was still a reviled religion in the eyes of many and the Society's acts of terror made them a hated group. Luckily, Shimiko was also representing Kumo which meant there was a bit more love for her than there'd normally be although people sometimes loved to root for the Society just to be contrarian. Lady Mora grinned when she saw Shimiko unleash her sonic attack, catching up with Nozomi and downing her in the process. The Superior Sacristan's smile grew wider as Shimiko tore into Nozomi with righteous fury. She placed an arm around the twin's shoulders and leaned in close.

"Victory is close at hand. All glory goes to Jashin!"

Mora was a very calm person but this match was exciting and to see Shimiko dominate pleased her quite a bit. The two had moved so fast she couldn't really tell what was going on but now that Shimiko had tagged her opponent it appeared as though the match had drawn to a sudden close. Mora spied a young dark skinned man sitting a row in front of her. She immediately recognized him as the Nuke-Nin that had betrayed their village in the Valley. Lady Superior Mora spoke loud enough for him to hear:

"Unfortunately it appears as though the Society's champion is just a paper tiger....." she boasted hoping to get a rise from him.

Raijin was the edge of his seat. The difference in power was relevant as he witnessed the Jounin tourney. There was no way he could have hung with the best of the best the world had to offer. No counter to the outstanding speed that was presented. His training would have to take drastic turns for him to ever be considered a threat. Then almost like the background noise being turned up. He could hear Lady Mora boast of the Shimiko's performance and downing the Jin. She was apart of the Church of Jashin, Raijin remembered. He paid her no mind. He was sure Honiko wouldn't appreciate any distractions from this fight to squabble with a Jashinist.

Also he didn't care for Nozomi enough to verbally her. He was sure the feeling was reciprocated. But if she was ever attacked, he had an obligation to protect her, for the Societies sake. She was a valuable asset. But he felt like he could have some fun. "That Shimi lady is strong. Using 'that time of the month' to her advantage." Raijin said aloud to himself, but loud enough for Lady Mora and the twins to hear. Jibbing at the fact that blood was literally in every corner of the ring.

The twins were sad she lost but they remained standing to clap loudly and offering the crowd to do so as well. They worried about her but she fought hard as tears flowed down their face cheering as loud as they could. They did not hate Nozo, in fact, the gave a polite bow toward the woman if she looked toward the stands. The fans all cheered loudly it was an amazing battle and certainly one of the best.

"Shimiko tried her best, she lost but she made us so proud, I hope you now understand how strong she is. Nozomi is also very strong and we respect a great warrior in battle."

They would wait until she was carried off and rush to go meet with her, they knew she was prideful in her ability. This loss would be a bit crushing to her, but they would cheer her up as she had such a rough time lately, they would do anything to make her happy.

Spectating Shimiko vs. Nozomi (Open) Empty Re: Spectating Shimiko vs. Nozomi (Open)

Post by Honiko Yoshidara Sat Mar 23, 2019 8:54 pm

The battle unfolded like none other in recent memory. Nozomi and Shimiko were so fast that Honiko could only keep her eyes on one of them at a time. She chose to watch Nozomi and through the girl's actions she could piece together the fight. The Chinoike was deviously fast and had a masterful control over her own blood. The battle was intense and fierce. Honiko could see what Nozomi's strategy was from the very beginning and it made the Sage tense. Playing defensive in hopes of tiring out one's opponent was a reckless strategy. If Shimiko had extra reserves or a hidden attack then Nozomi could be knocked out of the fight before she had the opportunity to use her full strength. Nevertheless, she was proud of Nozomi for holding back Isobu. It couldn't have been easy to fight such an opponent without relying on an external source of energy. Honiko could tell using her Mind's Eye that Shimiko's chakra levels were exceedingly high.

Honiko found herself more invested in the outcome of this fight then any other she had ever witnessed. Her interest was made apparent through the way she reacted to the battle's twists and turns. Leaning forward, gripping Thorn's back, and cursing when Nozomi did something unorthodox or risky. She despised "backseat drivers" and often wanted her disciples to succeed or fail on their own, but a part of her wanted to tear through that barrier and assist Nozomi.

The Sage edged closer to the arena to get a better view, and just as she did, Nozomi was hit by Shimiko's sound wave attack. Honiko sprang to her feet and had to suppress the urge to draw in nature energy. The attack was loud and the Chinoike wasted no time stabbing her disciple to pieces. Honiko watched and clenched her fists in agitation. She was concerned for how this would look on the world stage but she was more concerned about Nozomi. The Three Tails would certainly intercede at this point unless Shimiko had some means of suppressing the Beast. When a red glow began to encapsulate Nozomi and bring her to her feet, Honiko found herself grinning.

    Show her!

From that point on it was all downhill for the arrogant little blood bitch. Nozomi turned the tide of battle in an instant. Honiko could tell that the girl had achieved exquisite control of this stage even though Honiko had only recently lifted the seal. Nozomi must have been communing with Isobu, using her will to channel his power but also keep him in check. No matter what Shimiko threw at Nozomi, the girl healed from it and continued to run down Shimiko's stamina. As Nozomi's opponent grew more desperate, she went for more shock and awe techniques. Honiko could see through both her body language and posturing that she was having a bit of a breakdown. The Sage smiled and called for her dragon to float backwards a bit. The match would soon be over at this rate. Shimiko made a final gambit in the form of a block and counter-attack but it was simply too little, too late. The strike barely penetrated and Honiko could sense little to no chakra in her body. The match ended with a definitive uppercut and the opposing blonde sprawled on the ground like the loser she was. Honiko crossed her arms and nodded. She steeled her expression but internally she was beaming with pride.

The Society had shown the world its might. Nozomi had grown from a promising but untrained upstart to a disciplined warrior who stood head and shoulders above the rest. Honiko tapped Thorn and he released a stream of fire into the air. The blaze lingered in the air, forming the sigil of the Society. Honiko stood atop the winged beast and slowly flew back to the village. She was certain that Nozomi could see her. She had made certain that the girl's perceptive capabilities were at least as good as her own. She offered a nod of acknowledgement and a knowing grin as a salute. It was a rare thing to see her so pleased but this was an extraordinary circumstance. With Honiko gone, Raijin and Nozomi would be well advised to take that as their cue to leave. The group would rendezvous at the hospital and then depart from there.

The finals battle had been an amazing spectacle. The Jounin had performed admirably and Nozomi had shown her true strength. Power was not without its bounds, but these two showed none it seemed. If it wasn't for the barrier the entire area would be devastated by their attacks. Rajin was pleased, he had seen a high level shinobi fight once again. The other had been when Honiko had displayed array of attacks that could possibly kill anyone who dared test her. He had much to learn if he wanted to compete with these types of shinobi. They were much higher in power than he thought. Bayushi stood up corrected his outfit, he gave a smug look at Mora and Yui before walking away with his master.

Spectating Shimiko vs. Nozomi (Open) Empty Re: Spectating Shimiko vs. Nozomi (Open)

Raijin made a crude and sexist remark about the Defender of Faith that was not well received. Lady Mora scowled in response and one of her Sacristans leaned over and whispered in her ear. 'Ought I remove this traitor's tongue?' the man had one hand resting on Lady Mora's shoulder and another on his dagger's sheath. If she gave the word then Raijin would be attacked. Mora shook her head and replied: 'Let him make his jokes. Nozomi is on her way o-'.

Before Mora could finish speaking, Nozomi had been brought back from the brink of defeat. Shimiko had torn her to pieces and yet her wounds were healing at an astonishing rate. It was as if Jashin himself were blessing her. Fortunately, that was not the case, and the explanation for Nozomi's revival was far less divine. Mora could see the faint red glow emanating from the girl and she immediately deduced that she had a Tailed Beast inside of her. Mora sneered and cursed the young girl. She prayed fervently for Shimiko to make it through but unfortunately, that was not Jashin's will. Shimiko began to steadily lose the match and in the endgame, it became clear that she was not taking her imminent defeat well. Mora looked away as she could not bear to see the endgame. When her eyes came back to the field, the Church's champion lay sprawled out on the ground. Nozomi was the victor.

The Church bowed their heads in shame. Some began pulling out copies of the Orthodoxy and consulting their scriptures. Others rocked back and forth in prayer. Some lifted their hands and begged Jashin's forgiveness for whatever insult or slight they had accidentally inflicted upon his holy name. Lady Superior Mora remained still and calm in her seat. She had considered this possibility but had believed in her hardest of hearts that Shimiko would prevail. She had restrained herself from declaring the Chinoike's victory divine prophesy but in her spirit and soul she believed that Jashin would ensure that she prevailed. Mora was too old and devout to have her faith shaken by this though. Instead, she resolved to re-read the sacred texts, pray harder, and sacrifice more frequently so that her own spirit was brought into greater harmony with Lord Jashin's will. Shimiko practiced martial warfare but Mora practiced spiritual warfare.

She said nothing as Raijin left the stands with a smug look on his face. The twins bowed and expressed good sportsmanship but the Superior Sacristan tugged on their dress and shook her head solemnly.

"Yui. Yua. We do not bow to heathens and scum. I am proud of Shimiko just as you are but her opponent does not deserve our respect. Nozomi is a godless terrorist and she is being set up by our Lord to die a spectacular death at Shimiko's hands. The higher Lord Jashin raises up his enemies, the greater their fall."

With that said, Lady Mora rose from her seat and ushered them out of the arena. Shimiko was in bad spirits and it was their duty to ensure that her faith remained strong.
