Satori examined the scroll as it was offered to him, placed on the Mizukage's desk. Stepping forward smoothly and extending a hand. His claws receding into his fingertips to leave it undamaged as Satori carefully unrolled it, reading over the information while Kyoji explained the situation and job in question. His brow slowly lifted. There was the question of why he was sending Satori of all people, but Satori knew why.
This was a test. A promotion to Chunin was obvious, making him anything less would be a dramatic waste of resources for the village. Satori wasn't cocky, though he had pride in his skill and power, he was aware of his weaknesses as well. He wasn't even close to the pinnacle. But, he was quite strong by normal ninja standards. This was a test to see if he was ready to lead a proper squad on a complex mission. It was a job to test him for Special Jounin; perhaps Jounin, or even ANBU. Though whether Satori'd accept the last position was questionable. He already had many responsibilities.
The information was clear cut as well. He'd done his homework on the villages political standing to a degree. He was aiming for Mizukage eventually after all. This was a good tactical move to keep diplomacy running smoothly with Kumogakure, and the other countries as well likely. Slavery was, generally, frowned upon though Satori himself saw nothing wrong with it. The package was likely payment of some sort in exchange for the slaves' freedom if he had a guess, but that was above his paygrade to know.
His eyes flicked up from the scroll as he examined the humming sword briefly, before re-rolling it up and tucking it into his jackets inner pocket as his head inclined slightly.
"I have a few in mind. How many days do I have to prepare a proper squad with provisions and so forth? If this is a rush order, I'll leave immediately, but it will be on my own. I have some in mind but I wouldn't wish to take them on a mission of this class without testing them first." His tone was short and to the point, but not rude. Simply cut to the chase to locate the most efficient route to getting the mission completed as safely and quickly as possible.
"As well..." Satori's tone shifted a bit, as did his eyes. Almost as if he was testing Kyoji now. "What am I to prioritize for this mission? Diplomatic relations with Kumogakure, or lives? Be it of our own ninja or the demon villagers." His meaning was quite clear, he wanted to know what Kyoji valued more. The lives of his ninja if Kumogakure attacked them; or the diplomatic relations that may crumble if they fought back with lethal force to protect themselves.
