Shimiko and the Twins would be sitting in a nice carriage. It wasn't the most luxurious method of transportation in the world but it was comfy and cozy. The carriage had enough space for them to lie down and stretch their legs. Shimiko would use a large quilted blanket to cuddle her dearest twins. The carriage was slowly making its way up the mountains which meant the air was a tad bit colder than normal. The carriage was pulled by several powerful steeds and a Chinoike house servant guided the carriage upwards. They had nothing to fear when it came to bandits and brigands. Anyone dumb enough to attack Shimiko Chinoike on her vacation deserved what they had coming to them.
Shimiko knew that the Mountain Chinoike were sticklers for tradition. She had her own traditional Chinoike garb that she could wear for the ceremony, but the twins would need something. She was certain her grandmother was whipping something up for them but the elders would frown on her if she didn't make something of her own for them to wear. Shimiko was sponsoring them and was essentially their direct line into one of the most ancient and powerful clans within Lightning Country. She would need to demonstrate that she had put thought and care into their induction. To that end, Shimiko had busted out some knitting materials. She worked on a multi-colored scarf that would be embroidered with Clan symbol, secretive Jashinist scripts, and important milestones in their lives.
Shimiko had learned to knit from her mother and Gran-Gran. It wasn't a skill she had exercised often. In fact, she was absolutely atrocious at it. But she had carved out time to practice after she got back from Kiri and now that she was working on the real deal, she was certain that Jashin would guide her hands so that it would at the very least, be passable. She had been knitting in silence for a while before taking a break and retrieving a small backpack with some snacks in it. The girl had gotten out some bat jerky in plastic wrapping. The snack was an old-time Chinoike favorite and since Yui and Yua were going to be in the clan, they'd need to be familiar with such foods. Shimiko undid the wrapping and offered them the bat jerky to snack on.
"Yui and Yua, I think its time we had a talk...."
She had put off this conversation for months if not a full year. But given their sudden interest in Seid and the need to have some kind of emotional anchor given the incoming instability, it was time that Shimiko be upfront with them about their desires and wants.
