Standing at 5’ 10” she is pretty tall compared to most other girls her age, and won the genetic lottery when it comes to her dark skinned body type. She has enough curves that sharing with her younger sister is often a joke between them, but outside of that particular aspect, the rest of her body is built on pure, hard work. Muscles adorn themselves at just about anywhere you look, but they aren’t so overly large that they are bulky. She also isn’t afraid to show them off, often wearing clothes that show off a little bit more skin than others, much to their parent’s dismay, or perhaps because of it. She is confident, holds herself well, and isn’t scared to mix things up to show people what a lifetime of dedicated hard work can bring to the table. Her brilliant light blue eyes almost seem to glow when framed with her dark skin and short dark hair, and their gaze almost always can be described as having a ‘fire in her eyes’.
Her clothing, normally, is purely functional most of the time. She wears things that will allow her a great range of movement, and enable her to minimize her blind spots. She often changes outfits, but usually can be found in something blue most of the time. And then, across the vast majority of her back, is one of her favorite decorative things she has ever done, her tattoo. This Tattoo (Careful, borderline NSFW) is made up of a special type of ink that only reveals itself when Kat focuses the chakra into the ink, and covers almost her entire back. She sort of blames herself for Kit getting the idea for her own tattoo, which prompted them getting sent to the school, but is glad it happened overall.

The Kurahasa Family were quite wealthy and had made a fortune on the Isle for years by getting involved in fishing, timber, and transport. The unspeakable wealth they brought in was more than enough to create several generations of idle descendants who could live off of the labor of their ancestors. Fortunately, the Kurahasa's have always prided themselves in raising their children to work hard and generate new wealth. Katsumi and her youngest sister Kitsuki however proved less than amenable to this tradition. Katsumi often rebelled against the restrictions which often accompanied highborn girls. Kitsuki was the meeker of the two, but nevertheless she idolized her older sister and often took after her. The two were almost always getting in trouble with the law and their shenanigans were a constant source of embarrassment to the Kurahasa household.
The constant fighting and cursing took its toll on their parents' patience. When they found out that Katsumi and Kitsuki had decided to get a near full body tattoo, they reached out to several of their contacts in high society. The solution came in the form of a finishing school. A mysterious man by the name of Master Sukimori Hyuuga had taken over a reformatory for criminal youth and had converted it into a intensive and selective private school for the rich. The institution retained certain elements of a reformatory, but narrowed its focus to helping young women of extraordinary talent and influence. The Kurahasa girls were skilled, countless bouts of violence proved that, they also had the surname of one of the most powerful civilian families on the Isles. This background made them ideal candidates for this new experimental institution: The Sukimori School for War, Art, Science, and Philosophy (S.S.WASP).
Katsumi was 14 years old when she and her sister were shipped off to the remote boarding school. To this day, neither of the girls knew exactly sure where the school is. They never told her its location and there wasn't much to go off of with respect to the geography and climate. The size and scope of the institution made it one of a kind. It took young girls from all over the world. Most came from very prominent families, but a few were there on a scholarship. From the moment they arrived, Katsumi and her sister learned that the only way to excel at the Sukimori School was to strive for excellence. The curriculum was difficult and the teachers demanding. This is where Katsumi found her passion in fighting properly and training relentlessly, even when not directed to. Under the brutal tutelage of some of the world's finest instructors, she became an absolute powerhouse and specimen of what a woman could become physically. Watching her younger sister prove herself capable of fighting on par with her herself through the arts they were being taught was nothing less than thrilling. During her time at the WASP School, Katsumi came to believe in its ideals in her own way: Perfectionism for the service of others, so long as they deserved it. Everything she did was examined under a microscope. She was being molded into a kunoichi of unrivaled strength and skill. Master Sukimori took a personal interest in the Kurahasa girls. Katsumi was never selected for the leadership positions, but she was fine by that; you just told her who the enemy was and pummeled them into oblivion. One virtue that she took to heart above all others was Integrity; to be able to trust, and to earn the trust of others through pure, blunt honesty. It rubbed some the wrong way, but it was valuable none the less.
In both girls, Sukimori saw the future. A class of kunoichi who could not be swayed or broken by passions or ideologies. A pair of true renaissance warriors that fought for the benefit of those who could not fight for themselves, and each other. Katsumi was never the model student, her wild streak untamed even by his harsh teachings, but instead focused into proper channels to benefit her sister and those around her. They spent four years at the school before they graduated out, having mastered its principles and courses. After graduation, Kitsuki and Katsumi were sent to Kirigakure to serve the village as genin. The school had essentially served as a replacement for the Academy. It wouldn't be inaccurate to say that they were well beyond the skill level of the average new graduate. While she did truly appreciate how the WASP school helped them to become better people as a whole, she holds true to her personality and just focuses it towards the missions she has for others. Through everything, she still will tell you that her passion is finding honorable foes to fight against, win or lose, and to train in a way that seldom anyone is capable of. She now starts her ninja journey as an eager hero with the mind of a guardian but the heart of an warrior.

Loud and Proud is how most people would describe Katsumi. She isn’t afraid to tell you exactly what she thinks, regardless if it hurts your feelings or not; “If you can’t handle the truth, then leave me the hell alone! That simple!” She believes honesty is the one thing in the world that should be treasured above all else, and thus, she doesn’t usually make a ton of friends, which is just fine by her. She has her sister, her family, and her independence, and she doesn’t really feel an overwhelming need to branch out much further. If someone does manage to get past that shell-shock that is her blunt honesty though, they will find out that she has a surprising amount of depth to her personality.
She cares about her family deeply, even if they don’t always get along. The truth of the matter is that she normally gets along with them great, she just doesn’t care for the oppressive situation that they have placed themselves in with all their money and status. She has a particular sweet spot for her sister Kitsuki, who she only refers to as Kit, sometimes teasing her with ‘Kitsune’ and other assorted nicknames. If you manage to become someone she cares about, you can officially declare yourself a friend of Katsumi when she gives you a nickname, earing your place inside her circle of trust. Once you are here, it would take a betrayal of a pretty high degree to lose your spot, or constantly lying to her. She can’t stand liars.
