Training With The Hokage Empty Training With The Hokage

Post by Kazuya Uchiha Sat Sep 23, 2017 12:06 pm

With the bright light of the midday sun hanging over his head, Kazuya observed the many weapons laid out before him. An earlier trip to the weapon's shop had yielded an impressive haul, a decent assortment of tools that he'd used all throughout his lifetime, but had hardly found time since the village's finding to restock. So enthralled had he been by the endless duties of the Hokage and the many books decorating the Konoha Library that the time for such pleasantries as weapon's training simply could not be.

That time was over, now. With all of the paperwork caught up no later than noon, this was the perfect day to resume the mild training he'd been engaging in for the last few years. Today would not be so mild, however, for he wished to review a great many techniques he'd long since mastered, but hadn't put to proper use in a very long time. It had been years since his last serious fight, and that was just a minor dispute in the village with a very troubled Jounin. Other than that, the overall peace brought about by the village and the veritable mountain of busywork associated with his position prevented him from engaging in much physical pleasantries.

The following contains only weapon sealing and Fuuinjutsu training:
    Spoiler:

With all of his possessions now sealed securely about his person, Kazuya tightened his finger-less gloves and readied himself for a quick warm-up. What he intended to practice today was a mixture of Taijutsu, Bukijutsu, and Ninjutsu, so he'd need a lot of flexibility and since it had been a little while, he needed to get his muscles warmed up first. It wouldn't do to have the Hokage sidelined by mere muscle strain, after all. He performed a series of stretches with a fluidity completely inhuman, then began series of vaults, jumps, and flips to ensure that his body was ready for any movement he could possibly engage in. Then, with his Hokage robe opened in the front and held together by a small red band, Kazuya entered a stance similar to the starting position of the Gokenryu, but with his feet wider apart as though preparing to lunge forward. He had no designated target, but he was eager to perform the many techniques all the same.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Akame Sat Sep 23, 2017 5:04 pm

Tsuyo remained perfectly still near the top of the tree about ten meters off the ground that she had perched in about an hour ago. She was hiding on the other side of the trunk from where she had spotted the Hokage, some one-hundred thirty or so meters away with her Byakugan. To make sure that her presence was further unnoticed, the Konoha jonin was sporting the Transparent Escape Technique so that any bit of her that was exposed would appear clear. With most of her body blocked, she was confident that not even she would be able to find herself without using her Byakugan to peer through the tree.

What was she doing here, perched in the top of a tree one might ask? Well, further into the training grounds on another tree she had nailed up a target. It was set up about one-hundred fifty meters away from her location and had been nailed up at a height roughly equal with where a second story window would be. She had been practicing her archery skills at the end of her bow's range, trying to improve her skills to better improve her chances at success for any long range shots she may have to do one day.

Utilizing her Byakugan to scan the training field was something she did every once in awhile to see if anybody she recognized stepped foot inside. Her five-hundred meter range caught the Hokage at three-hundred or so, causing her to hide against the tree. Impromptu training sessions were always exciting, especially when the other person didn't know that they were going to be involved at first. She had come dressed for training today, wearing her own fingerless gloves, her flak jacket, steel arm guards and carrying her bow with twenty arrows and her small arms on her person. She had on a mesh t-shirt under her flak jacket with a pair of tight, blue shorts in Konoha's standard color that stopped halfway down her thighs. Her hair was down today as well, spilling onto her shoulders and down between the middle of her shoulderblades. Two weaponry pouches were on her thighs, one on each, and third on her right hip. Her quiver was strapped across her back, with her recurve bow held in her left hand. Three arrows were missing out of it, the only two she had fired prior to spotting Kazuya and the one she had in her hand when he got to the training grounds.

When she spotted her Hokage, Tsuyo had activated the Transparent Escape Technique and pressed herself against the trunk of the tree. She stayed that way, watching his approach as she remained perfectly still on the opposite side of the trunk from him. He appeared to be warming up, and as he turned away from her during one of his stretches she would make her move. She shifted, still invisible and at a fairly good distance with a good vantage point. Her supernatural perception, unmatched by any she had faced in combat before, came into play during her calculations. Which way could he move? How fast was he when he fought her father? Was he faster?

Many things ran through her mind in the split second where she went from hiding behind the tree to attaching herself to it with the tree climbing technique with her body poised to fire an arrow. With what would be an inaudible creak from such a distance, Tsuyo drew her arrow back and fired at the Hokage.

It was not intended to harm him, her aim being to pass it about a foot to his right. As soon as she fired it,Tsuyo would press herself back against the opposite side of the tree like she had before to get herself out of the Hokage's line of sigh. She had witnessed her father test him up close, so now she would test him from afar. Her Byakugan would stay active, keeping a tab on how he reacted or if he would even react at all. Maybe he would even deflect it, she just wanted to witness it.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Kazuya Uchiha Sat Sep 23, 2017 8:42 pm

With celerity quite unnatural, Kazuya moved his feet about the air and the ground, spinning around to add more force into the kicks and further build his momentum. It was first a sweep, the Leaf Gale technique, followed by a series of high and low kicks -the Leaf Whirlwind. Finally, he finished with the Leaf Great Whirlwind, initially using only enough power to practice the moves without exerting himself, but as the heel drop that signified the end of the technique started, the Hokage's foot suddenly became a blur as his body twisted just slightly so as to catch the arrow's shaft mid-flight with his foot and tear the thing asunder. The broken arrowhead bounced harmlessly across the ground as Kazuya's eyes scanned the direction from whence it had come.

As far as assassination attempts go, he had seen better. But no, that didn't seem to be the case. The Hokage started walking towards the forest, wary but not completely on his guard just yet. The most likely case was a young shinobi looking to get a look at the Hokage's Skills, probably just a Genin. So Kazuya continued deeper into the sparsely wooded area, his footsteps cautious but his outlook and expression curious. He would have to wait until this stranger made the next move, for whoever it was had him at something of a disadvantage.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Akame Sat Sep 23, 2017 11:54 pm

Tsuyo caught the supernatural speed of the Hokage's movements, comparing them with her own personal skill. If she were to go all in with a barrage of Gentle Fist, she might have been able to come close to the speeds he was moving. It's no wonder father lost to you, Kazuya she thought with distaste. The Hokage managed to snap her arrow in one deft movement, showcasing his awareness of his surroundings. At least he wasn't completely clueless, otherwise it wouldn't be a challenge.

Her hand slipped into the pouch on her right thigh, retrieving the smoke bomb she kept in there and cupping it in the palm of her hand. Noting the the side of the tree she hadn't popped out on had slightly more shade to help conceal her presence, Tsuyo would quietly draw another arrow as the Hokage turned to face the direction the arrow had come from.

The Hyuga clan head popped out on the other side of the tree while drawing this arrow once Kazuya would begin his walk towards the woods, the light bending oddly to showcase where she was. This side also had a branch she could use to balance, meaning she didn't have to brace herself with the tree climbing technique. Most shinobi wouldn't be able to see this distortion due to the distance involved, Tsuyo's size, and the shade provided by the tree. Tsuyo wasn't entirely sure this would apply to the Hokage, but it was something she was willing to find out. She would be revealed for no longer than a second and a half, enough time to lock onto the Hokage who would now be expecting another arrow. She loosed it, aiming for his chest. If he could deflect the first one, then he should be able to deflect this one as well despite the relative quiet manner in which a bow could kill someone. Today, Konoha's forest was her ally in hiding her already camouflaged movements. She wondered briefly if the Hokage would be angered by her test of his skill, though this thought was put on the backburner because she honestly didn't give a damn if he cared or not.

As soon as this arrow had traveled for a bit and the Hokage's attention was diverted to it, Tsuyo would retreat further from the Hokage by jumping to a tree further from him and then to the one behind that one. She took care to keep herself well hidden, keeping track of the Hokage with her googly eyes. She moved as quietly as she could, drawing another arrow as she pressed herself against the trunk of her new tree which was slightly higher up than her first one had been and a few meters more from the Hokage. Something told her that her third arrow would likely be the last she would get off before he found her, if the second one didn't do it already. She moved to try and trick someone with as keen attention to detail as herself, hoping that was enough to keep hidden from the best warrior in her village. Only time could tell if her thoughts were accurate or not.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Kazuya Uchiha Sun Sep 24, 2017 8:03 pm

Though sparsely wooded it was, the training area's minute forest still provided a considerable amount of cover. Kazuya realized this once he had started in the direction of the first arrow and almost immediately spotted a second, but could not see who had loosed it. He was able, though, to determine the approximate location of the shooter, and it then became clear to the Uchiha that this other person was interested only in a game of shadows. Though not specifically stealthy by nature, Kazuya had his fair share of experience in the field, and decided to employ some of it to gain more awareness of this other person. They were obviously skilled in Kyujutsu to some extent, with sufficient aim -the first arrow was nearly a foot from what he assumed was its mark and the second he had not afforded a chance to even near him before scattering into the treeline.

What would come next, Kazuya reasoned as he stood against the trunk of a larger tree, facing away from the archer's position, is determining whether or not this enemy had any Sensory. He briefly suspected a Hyuga, knowing well the powers of their blessed eyes, but dismissed the thought for the time being; it would be highly unusual for a Clan specializing so greatly in Taijutsu to waste their time in the art of ranged combat, though that idea didn't seem as alien to him as it probably should have. He seemed to recall running across someone like that before, but he couldn't place it. For now, he would have to focus on assessing what he could, and leaving such guess work to later.

The Hokage briefly recalled the general speed of the first arrow, the one he'd kicked in two. It was rather slow, and, assuming it wasn't just a warning shot, fairly off its mark. This indicated a person of weaker physical power and lacking aim, so unless this person contained a supernatural level of speed and agility, he or she was not likely to possess an unnaturally high level of tracking ability. He should, theoretically, be able to move at high speeds without being followed very well. It seemed like a good assessment, but then, he wasn't really the very best in determining the abilities of others with so little information. Kazuo probably would be best at that, having spent so long as leader of a warring clan.

With a quick hand seal, Kazuya darted off to the side, leaping from tree to tree in a generally straight line, heading forward and to his left towards the archer by means of the Body Flicker technique. His form was that of a blur, invisible, perhaps, to some, but no matter which one it was, he was certain to be difficult to track. Without warning, Kazuya's movement suddenly ceased, with such instantaneity that one could very easily keep looking along the direction of his travel for quite some time before realizing he'd stopped some distance back, at which point, he would be lost to them.

This thought-out, albeit short-lived, maneuver put Kazuya about 30 meters off of the archer's original position, and behind the cover of another tree, he lay in wait to see what the next move might be. Though a fighter himself, the Hokage did sometimes enjoy games of cat and mouse, as this was clearly turning out to be.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Akame Tue Sep 26, 2017 10:32 pm

Tsuyo watched Kazuya move to dodge the second arrow as she drew her third and readied it. If she guessed correctly, it was likely he'd try to use his decent speed to try and rapidly approach the person firing at him. He's already proven he could dodge the arrows and even break them mid flight. No reason to suspect he couldn't simply blitz her, then.

Going on the assumption that Kazuya hadn't seen where she was yet and was just going on a general knowledge of her location, Tsuyo would use his ignorance of her slight shift in position to get a better drop on the Hokage than would normally be possible. She suspected that if her aim hadn't been purposefully off the first shot, she may have even hit him. Now was not the time to wonder about such things, however. There was a game to play, after all.

When Kazuya made his hand seal, the technique registered in Tsuyo's mind almost immediately. Body Flicker. This all but solidified her initial guess, and had his speed been any greater Tsuyo may have had issues following the Hokage. However, this was not an issue for the Hyuga clan head as she had trained extensively to track high moving speeds. She too could knock items out of the air, though not as cleanly as the Hokage could, by virtue of her innate tracking abilities and the incredible power of her dojutsu.

Tsuyo stepped out briefly, having already taken aim through a couple branches with her eyes beforehand before loosing her third arrow on an interception course for the speedy shinobi timed for when he got to about seventy meters from her position. He moved at the edge of her comfort zone, but still within it. Assuming he ceased the technique or used it to go a different direction, Tsuyo would draw another arrow and watch carefully how his feet landed on the branch before interception. Depending on the shift, she would follow him with the eyes of a Hawk to fire a fourth arrow into his path. It was a risky maneuver, leaving her exposed for longer than she would otherwise do, but he was the Hokage for a reason. Caution sometimes had to be thrown to the wind to get a victory against such an opponent.

Show me what you can really do, Uchiha Kazuya she thought, still somewhat bitterly. Old rivalries die hard, after all.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Kazuya Uchiha Thu Sep 28, 2017 1:21 pm

A normal individual running at such an incredible rate may have experienced a sort of tunnel vision, isolating them from most of their surroundings, but the Hokage was far from normal. His eyes were just as adept at perceiving the world as his pace was at evasion, but he wasn't the only one. From the side of his path came another arrow, this one on a direct course for his own path, and with enough accuracy and timing, he noticed, to collide with him in the middle of his dash. Kazuya slowed his pace over the next tree branch, ending the Body Flicker technique, and then abruptly stopped over the next. The arrow shot by a few meters ahead, and he looked to the direction it had come. What he saw was yet another arrow, but this time, he saw it being loosed, and the silhouette of the person behind it. The figure was of a woman, one using a sort of cloaking technique to blend with the environment, but her movements in the mixed shadow and sunlit scenery revealed to the Hokage's keen perception her presence.

No particular details could be told at this time, so as far as he knew, this was a person skilled in archery with eyes capable of following his higher levels of speed and no other distinct factors. There was hardly any reason to let loose the many stops he employed to limit his fullest potential; it was still only a game, after all, but now he had found the mouse.

Kazuya didn't bother to reinstate the Body Flicker for the sake of enhancing the pace of his approach; his vision was locked on target and he would see any movements from behind that tree, no matter how disguised they were by a technique of that caliber; it may well fool Genin and Chuunin level shinobi, but the Hokage was on an entirely different level.

As he started to close in, leaping from branch to branch, the arrow eventually came within range, and though it may be considered a deadly attack for some people, it was little more than a nuisance to the leader of the Uchiha. He whipped his hand out in front of him, grasping hold of the arrow's shaft and immediately snatching it from the air. He kept it in hand for the time being, so that he might return the little stick to its owner, personally.

Before then, however, he would need a quick distraction to make time for his approach, as the distance was considerable. With held aloft between his palms, the Uchiha deftly weaved a set of hand seals in such rapid succession that one could hardly tell the first from the last, and then he set his empty hand before his mouth, covering it with a tunnel formed by his wrapping fingers that served as the barrel for his Great Fireball technique, a massive red-orange sphere tinged in yellow flame that shot out with enough destructive force to splinter the tree upon which Tsuyo stood before setting the area about it ablaze.

Just as the archer had expected Kazuya's abrupt stop earlier, the Hokage now anticipated a sideways dodge to evade the fireball, for while she could go up, down, or back, she would still be in danger of either the fireball or a collapsing tree, leaving left and right as the most safe and, therefore, obvious choices. With this in mind, the Uchiha weaved another set of seals similar to the first and with as much haste; he even cupped his hand over his mouth once more as sparks bounced from his lips. The flames unleashed this time, however, were no coalescence of heat into a single enormous orb, but were rather a series of much smaller spheres, shot out over an expansive distance and splitting, via the Hokage's will and direction, to bombard the areas immediately left and right of the fireball, so that whichever way Tsuyo might go, she would be faced with some form of mild incineration. By the time she finished handling them, though, the man himself would be within range.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Akame Fri Sep 29, 2017 8:58 pm

Yeah, I didn't think that'd work, she thought with a tinge of disappointment. The Hokage had dodged her third arrow, and appeared to have seen her. Tsuyo would keep the act up for a little longer, her supernatural battle sense telling her that he was about to try something of his own. The fourth arrow was loosed, and immediately after loosing it her hands would begin to move and chakra would begin to flow. She placed the smoke bomb in her mouth, gingerly holding onto it with her teeth and slipped her bow onto her wrist simultaneously. Chakra was flowing into her palms even as she did this, in anticipation of what the Uchiha clan was known for their mastery of.

Her intuition would pay off masterfully, keen eyes watching the gathering of chakra in the Hokage's body as well as the hand seals woven. The sharp intake of breath and motion of his hand, moving deftly enough that it was difficult for her to keep a good read on the seals, further cemented her suspicions. As soon as the Hokage's body began to lurch forward and flame flew from his mouth, she would place her hands in front of her with the palms out and elbows slightly bent while also dropping the transparency technique she had employed. The fireball grew and Tsuyo held her attack back for a moment to allow it to grow and get within range. The delay served a second purpose as well; the Hokage's own view would be blocked by his attack. Tsuyo pushed her palms forward and fired off her Vacuum Wall Palm, the double blast of pressurized air punching through the fire and dissipating the majority of it immediately upon contact. Any little bit of fire that may have reached her would be quenched quickly enough without the chakra to back its life and no fuel to feed it, with any other unusually long lived flames being mostly blocked by the tree.

The Hokage would likely have been going to retrieve his weapons to throw by now, still moving forward and likely right into the path of her still potent blast of pressurized air. Whether he would continue to attempt his weaponry tactics Tsuyo did not know and she highly doubted, but her counter attack would need an immediate reply on the Hokage's part. No matter what the Hokage did, Tsuyo would turn into the tree to hide what she was about to do. The smoke bomb fell from her mouth and into her right hand, ready to pop before that same hand snagged an arrow to fire. She also slipped the bow off and quickly caught it before it could drop, ready to be fired again. In case he tanked the blast for some reason and somehow carried on with his weaponry attack, Tsuyo would drop the smoke bomb to give her cover. She would then utilize substitution to get to the ground quickly, her body replaced with a medium sized fallen branch.

Tsuyo did not figure it likely he would tank that attack though, not if he wanted to breathe sometime soon and thus could continue with her desired plan of holding onto the smoke bomb a little longer. Depending on what the Hokage did, Tsuyo could have the upper hand. It was unlikely he could have gotten a good glimpse of who his assailant was through fire and then Tsuyo's attack, meaning he probably still wasn't entirely sure on if she was a sensor or a Hyuga. Only one of the two could have fired the bow as Tsuyo did, immediately upon exiting cover, and she knew it. If she knew it, he knew it.

If his dodge brought him closer to Tsuyo or was a vertical movement, she would simply track the dodge while infusing her arrow with a small amount of chakra. Enough to dissuade direct contact with it in the form of deflection or grabbing it. It wouldn't be a lethal amount however, just enough to slice the shit out of his hand if he caught this one too. Tsuyo would drop the bomb while emerging with the arrow ready while he was mid flight off a rebound from a branch, expertly trained eyes tracking his every move. The arrow would be fired through the obstructive smoke at his torso, infused with Wind natured chakra flow as the mentioned deterrent. At this close of range and with the Hokage in mid flight, dodging would be difficult for even experienced shinobi.

She knew that she was pushing this a bit far, but she had not been allowed to witness Kazuya perform in the last war of the Hyuga and Uchiha. Her father had commanded her back mid-way through the battle, robbing her of the experience, and she wanted to make up for it with this little game of theirs. After firing, Tsuyo would drop down to a lower branch through cover and keep track of the Hokage. While dropping, she made sure to sling the bow over her shoulder with the string resting on her chest. The time for arrows was soon to be over, she felt.

If the dodge was away from her, the Konohagakure jonin would keep hold of her arrow and bide her time a little longer for her shot. There was no need to rush this, though she would make sure to keep her arrow infused with the low amount of Wind natured chakra she always planned to use.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Kazuya Uchiha Sat Sep 30, 2017 5:12 pm

Embers roared all around and wrapped around the tree, burning the bark with every tongue of flame, but causing nowhere near the destruction it should have. The reason for this was a simple attack of what appeared to be a wind nature jutsu blowing away at least half of the Uchiha signature technique, and though what Kazuya saw was obviously a compressed pocket of air, he did not think it a Fuuton Ninjutsu; something felt different about it, but without his Sharingan active, he was unable to determine the finer details of the chakra involved in it. For now, he simply held the final hand seal of the Phoenix Sage Fire technique in place as his feet touched down on another branch and suddenly propelled him to the side of that vacuum palm. It was clear to him now, that, on top of supernatural tracking ability, this woman also possessed some sort of sensory power; there is no other way she could have timed that counter so perfectly as to use the fireball for cover and still target him accurately. A perceptive bow wielding sensor was certain to be an asset to the village, the Hokage knew, so at this point, he resolved to increase his power output, if only just a little, to test this shinobi.

Before the Uchiha had a chance to bound from another branch and fully correct his course, a cloud of smoke burst from the branch of the slowly burning tree and from it came an arrow with an ominous pale aura about it. Kazuya saw this as opportunity, releasing his Fire Release Ninjutsu as soon as the smoke appeared, willing every one of the small fireballs to bombard that general area. They would explode upon contact and cause severe damage to anything within the smoke, and would even reach their target before the arrow could touch Kazuya, but his hands were not idle after launching his flames.

Quickly, the Hokage's hands became a blur, as he activated the mechanism in his sleeve and tapped the seal on his wrist to call forth four shuriken and attach wires of steel so thin that they could barely be considered visible. He threw them as one with a swipe of his hand, but they traveled and arced in a way consistent with four individual throws -a testament to his dexterous power. His hands came together once more to weave seals so swift that the shuriken had barely traveled a foot before suddenly growing in number to dozens and then hundreds, all with wires attached. Admittedly, Kazuya was not so profound a shinobi that he could manipulate each one with equal efficiency, but he was able to control many groups of them, and he did so, still in mid jump, forcing several to collide with and shred the chakra-coated arrow when it was about three-fourths along its path. He then commanded the rest of the shuriken to circle about, using the tree trunk and the branches immediately surrounding the area Tsuyo's smoke bomb was still at as multiple axes, to force the wires to wrap around and ensnare anything in the general vicinity.

To solidify this assault, Kazuya twisted some of these shuriken in separate ways, releasing the wrapping shuriken once they had been well set to their task and taking to the small remaining portion. Like those before them, these shuriken wrapped around the branches and the trunk, but only once each, as they became like several yo-yo's in Kazuya's supernaturally skilled hands. With this twist in trajectory, the shuriken would bombard the vast majority of the targeted branches and trunk, sticking anything on just about any side of them and within a couple of meters, but there was a flaw in this assault. Though it was a practical and just about fool-proof method of attack used often by the Uchiha -though perhaps not on this scale- a requirement of this technique was in predicting the opponent's movements. Given that Kazuya could not see Tsuyo, he resolved to just apply the jutsu's principles to an entire area by using his unique skill set. Whether or not it hit was of little concern, Kazuya thought as he landed on the bottom surface of a branch, watching; what this maneuver would reveal is more information about his target, because skilled though a sensor may be in detecting chakra, it would have little use against an attack like this. This woman would need a bit of creativity, or some other ability, to make it through this one, and that's exactly what the Hokage wanted to see.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Akame Tue Oct 03, 2017 10:22 pm

He's inhaling again Tsuyo noted as she dropped to the branch below her and the arrow was on its course. The Hokage appeared as if he was going to launch another katon attack at Tsuyo, taking a reckless approach in his treatment of the training grounds. Fire in a bunch of trees was not a good way to get the maintenance staff on your side, after all. When the fireballs began to leave his mouth and he began to begin more shenanigans, Tsuyo would drop to an even lower branch while tracking where each of the fireballs were going. He had aimed them where the arrow had come from, keeping her out of the danger for a majority of the fireballs directly.

Tsuyo caught every detail of him unsealing the shuriken, alerted at what he intended to do with them with an arrow still coming at him. Already she was routing her escape, still holding her breath and utilizing the smoke cover from her smoke bomb to its full potential. One fireball came around the side of the tree, prompting Tsuyo to jump up and plant a foot on the trunk while her hands came together to form a single seal. The top part of the fireball lashed over the branch she was just standing on, though this wouldn't matter. Already, the Hokage had begun to throw his shuriken and his hands had started to weave the seals needed. Tsuyo, however, would be gone by the time his mass assault began to use the tree she was on as target practice.

The Body Flicker carried her out of the cover of the smoke at a slightly downward angle and into full view of the Hokage, her still clasped hands forming a single seal as her smirking face looked directly at the man who led the formerly bitter enemies of her clan; that of the Ram. Her hands released and moved in a small arc in front of her as the wind in her immediate area began to pick up immediately. Quickly, the violent wind would coalesce into four small tornadoes when she touched another tree and used it to break her momentum and thus allow her to drop fully to the ground a few meters below her.

These four tornadoes would cut into the bigger trees and would rip the smaller ones apart, each being powerful enough to fling away any projectiles that the Hokage might send her way. They were dispersed evenly in front of her and to her sides, meant only to deflect and not to harm the Hokage directly. Tsuyo would remain on the ground, her intense gaze falling on the man who had the high ground. She folded her arms underneath her breasts, waiting to see what the Hokage would do about the tornadoes, if anything. Assuming he ceased trying to attack her, similarly to how she was no longer trying to attack him, Tsuyo would attempt to communicate with her leader.

"I see peace hasn't made the entire Uchiha clan rusty," she called out to him. She glanced at the area around them, noting that the training grounds were either burning, wrapped in wire and weapons, or had been cut and ripped to shreds. "I believe we may have gotten a bit too rowdy though, Lord Hokage. How about we make it a little more... intimate." She spoke his title with a tinge of distaste on her tongue, with most of it hidden. She was trying to not let personal feelings wrench what could be a valuable learning experience apart, though what has been ingrained is very difficult to get rid of. Especially at Tsuyo's age and with the family tragedies of the past year.

A wicked smile broke out on her lips once she finished her short greeting to her leader and her body shifted slightly to put her right leg further behind her left in preparation for the anticipated melee, those pale eyes staring the Hokage down as she deactivated her clan's most prized possession. Now, if he kept up with his shenanigans, she'd keep them active so as to better react to them. Either way, she knew what he could do at a range so now she just needed to know what he could do up close.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Kazuya Uchiha Fri Oct 06, 2017 12:04 pm

Flames flickered about a few trees, their tongues growing brighter as the wood fueled their avaricious appetite. They might well grow into a full-blown wildfire if left alone in an area so dense with foliage, but for now, they provided a back lighting, shining their brilliant orange and yellow colors in the few spaces where the sunlight could not reach.

The smoke cleared and Kazuya stood ready on one of the higher branches, no longer seeing any need in pursuing the archer up close. He wondered, for a moment, how she fared against his shurikenjutsu, but as she rushed through the lingering smoke and towards the ground, he returned her smirk, impressed with the realization and with her overall ability.

As if to serve as a reminder that the battle had not yet ended, the archer conjured a number of tornados -deterrents, the Hokage realized- to serve as a wall while she landed harmlessly on the ground. Kazuya's hands twitched, his natural instinct to apply a great deal of fire to those winds, but he halted the motion, reading Tsuyo's movements as passive. Then, she spoke.

"I could say the same of the Hyuga," Kazuya started, stepping out to fall from his perch and touch down on the gentle, unburned grass. His hands weaved a set of seals, causing a sudden burst of wind to bombard the area, drowning out the many scattered flames. "You must be Tsuyo," he concluded, linking the woman's lineage and skill with a bow to the many reports and stories he'd heard ever since the founding of the village. Her's was a past more tragic even than his, but the Uchiha knew well that power was born of tragedy, and that no matter how much devastation she experience, if she remained strong enough to move past it, Tsuyo would only grow, perhaps greater than any Hyuga behind her, for it was the curse of the Uchiha, not the Hyuga, to suffer tragedy after tragedy, meaning that she might well be the most 'damaged' of her clan. At least, this was Kazuya's immediate thought on the matter.

The man stood there, still and with arms crossed, just on the other side of the tornadoes and their effective range. Soon they would die down, Tsuyo would begin the melee, and he would snap into action, calling upon the Goken to combat what he expected to be a brilliant display of the Juuken. Until that moment, through these next few seconds where weathered and experience eyes met with those of an excited and young warrior, he waited.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Akame Sun Oct 08, 2017 8:17 pm

Tsuyo's eyebrows twitched in annoyance. He didn't even know what the clan head of one of the three strongest in his village looked like? Really? Didn't he remember her at all from his fight with her father, years ago? Apparently not. "Of course I'm Tsuyo; the only Hyuga who dares to perfect the blasphemous art of archery," she said with more than a little sarcasm. That sarcasm was drawn from a bitterness still present from the harassment she had received in her younger days for focusing on something other than Gentle Fist.

After this response, Tsuyo would begin to walk towards the Hokage at a slightly faster walk than one would usually travel at. The distance between them was a couple dozen meters or greater, meaning she had a few seconds before she would reach him unless he decided to bring the fight to her. "Do you remember that fight you had with my father almost six years ago," she asked her kage. Regardless on what he answered with or if he even answered at all, she would continue.

"What was that technique you used that gave you such a large burst of chakra, if you don't mind me asking." Tsuyo would stop approaching the Hokage when the gap was closed to ten meters, wishing to see if he would answer before getting to the part she was sure both of them had begun to anticipate. Questions did not always receive answers, so she wanted to take the chance to learn a few when she could. Already she knew the answer, but she needed to hear if the Hokage was the type to lie openly to a subordinate or if he was an honest man.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Kazuya Uchiha Mon Oct 09, 2017 1:09 pm

"Ah, Toro Hyuga..." The Hokage voice and eyes trailed off in unison as he recalled that time. It was battle unlike any other he'd fought before, perhaps not the most intense overall, but as far as Taijutsu was concerned, he'd never faced a more powerful opponent. Toro's skill with the Juuken was unmatched, and it elevated his prowess with hand to hand combat above all others in the village at the time. Kazuya matching fists with him using the Goken, but while he had skill of his own, he was too broad in his traits and not as focused in Taijutsu as he needed to be to overwhelm one such as Toro. That's why he had to call upon the power of a forbidden technique to unlock greater heights in his body, and even then, as much he pushed himself, he only just managed to win.

"The Hachimon; inner gates located along the chakra network that, when released, can vastly improve one's power output at the expense of placing great strain upon the body." His onyx eyes glanced back towards the Hyuga Clan Leader, curiosity looming about them. "They're considered the height of the Gokenryu. What interest might an archer have in such a technique?" He asked, arms still crossed.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Akame Tue Oct 10, 2017 8:14 pm

At least he remembered, that much satisfied her. The Hokage questioned Tsuyo's desire to know of such a technique, mentioning it to be a favored one of the Strong Fist. At first she did not answer, choosing instead turn the corner of her mouth up into a smirk. After a couple moments had passed, the Hyuga clan head would reply to her Hokage in a very confident tone, "Because I wanted to see if you were the type of leader to lie to his subordinates." Her eyes narrowed slightly as she began to say her next line, her tone shifting to one of focus. "And the leader of the Hyuga will never be just an archer."

A momentary tensing of her legs would be the only indication of Tsuyo's charge at her kage. Tsuyo was not the fastest person in the village, nor was she the strongest, but she was among the top when it came to the awareness she had of her surroundings and how to interact with those surroundings to her benefit. That skill was what earned her her promotion to jounin, being of superb tactical usage while being talented at a few other things. She may still be young, but she was far from inexperienced. This judgement was what she fully intended to utilize to combat her kage, keeping her wits about her against an opponent she knew was superior.

Her left fist came in first, a jab meant for his nose. Her right hand stayed up, close to in front of her face as a guard. Assuming he would block, Tsuyo would draw her fist back and shift her body left while bringing her right leg up to try and land a kick into the Hokage's left knee. Her hands stayed in front of her, ready to help parry any counter attacks he may try in the interval between her punch and kick. This first kick would be the prelude to the Leaf Gale should he dodge it, with Tsuyo continuing her momentum by dropping and tucking her right leg while bringing her left around for a sweep at Kazuya's ankles. She came full circle to face Kazuya again, crouched on the ground with her right hand helping balance her while her left stayed up to guard. If the Gale hit, Tsuyo would stand and bring her leg up a foot or so in order to perform a short heel drop on her Hokage. She intended fully to show him that she had more skills than just archery and the assumed Gentle Fist.

Tsuyo knew she was nowhere near her father's level of skill when he took on Kazuya, meaning that she also knew in the long run she stood no chance against Kazuya. Still, that didn't matter. Establishing that the Hyuga still had fight in them despite the loss of their two best and brightest back to back was her goal for today. Sparring any other than the leader of the Uchiha was simply out of the question with this mindset, as their rivalry ran back in history longer than any other within the lands of shinobi. Getting a gauge for his capacity with firsthand experience was also immensely beneficial, as she was sure that Kazuya knew a few tricks that she herself did not. Observing carefully and learning was always something to strive for in any confrontation, as adaptation is key to survival among trained shinobi. Could she adapt to suit? She would find out now, it would seem.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Kazuya Uchiha Thu Oct 12, 2017 2:16 pm

The Hokage said nothing in reply, only raising an eyebrow as he waited her next move. He had assumed that she would go into Taijutsu, if her statement and her positioning were any indication, and against Toro, this assumption would have put Kazuya immediately on the defensive, but against this one, he remained steadfast, with his arms still folded. She was the leader of the Hyuga, yet her physical ability was behind that of her brother and especially her father. Knowing this, and of the pride of the Hyuga Clan, which surpassed by far that of the Uchiha, he intended to show her in great detail the gap in their abilities, with the hope of prodding her to improve to heights worthy of one holding the title of leader of the greatest clan in history.

The first attack came after a short pause, a jab that the Uchiha mindlessly avoided with a tilt of the head. She pulled her fist back and went for a knee kick, which prompted the cross-armed Hokage to shift his position to the side, drawing her target back and away from her reach. She then dove into a sweeping kick, with a motion as obvious to Kazuya as her last two attacks. Though his Sharingan was inactive, he could still read her movements as if it weren't, and his evasion tactics illustrated a brazen cockiness that he fully intended for the young woman to pick up on.

Kazuya hopped backwards, a foot or so beyond the range of Tsuyo's sweep kick, but rather than wait and continue in his evasive maneuvers, the Hokage jumped forward, positioning his feet for a kick to the back of the Hyuga's head while she was turning. If she hesitated, it might hit the side of her face, but he made sure to time it so as not to make full contact with the front, as that might cause more damage than he wished. His arms were still crossed, and he would stand in wait as she recovered from the tumble that kick would put her in. He secretly hoped for a counter, so that he could engage in a swift retaliation and escalate the fight beyond the supposed Taijutsu level of his Jounin.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Akame Sun Oct 15, 2017 9:58 am

Yeah, I'd say he's quick, Tsuyo thought to herself as Kazuya effortlessly dodged her initial attacks. She continued with her assault as she would have, keeping note of what he displayed up close. Her Byakugan was deactivated to conserve stamina. Vacuum Wall Palm had taken a lot out of her when the other ninjutsu she'd used up until that point were also taken into account. She could feel her muscles getting more and more tired, but she was unwilling to stop. Tsuyo expected him to try something, especially since he didn't even see fit to block her attacks or even uncross his arms.

When she began to drop for the Leaf Gale, she would instead bring her leg up more and would dip her head slightly more to try and catch the Hokage center of mass. His kick would come through like it would have, but her elevated leg allowed her to roll with his blow and to one side. The raised leg was intended to wrap around the one the Hokage had used to kick her with and bring him down to the ground, something which should be relatively easy since the type of kick he used made balance somewhat precocious. Her head was throbbing from the kick, but every fighter takes a few blows before they're out of the fight especially if it's a blow on the back of the head. If the Hokage went down, Tsuyo would keep her leg tangled within his own to keep him down while she focused back on him. One hand, her left, would be raised with the palm facing the Hokage. A concentration of chakra there would be noticeable if he had his Sharingan active, but failing that he would not know that another Vacuum Palm was aimed directly at his chest from point blank range. "Not bad, Lord Hokage," she said with a smirk.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Kazuya Uchiha Mon Oct 16, 2017 7:29 pm

The leg counter was a welcome maneuver to Kazuya, who finally uncrossed his arms as a sign of his increasing involvement in this spar. As the momentum of his kick pushed Tsuyo back, her leg moved to tangle his own and bring him forward with her, presumably to the ground. He'd not expected the move, and was too slow to realize it for another dodge, so he followed the movement, using his supernatural body movements to unravel his own leg whilst in the air and land on his right hand, just on the other side of a now crouching/laying Tsuyo. Kazuya continued the momentum by springing from his hand and swinging his leg about for a sweep-like kick that, given Tsuyo's position, would hit her square on her lowest sitting false rib with enough power to fracture it.

That was the idea, at least. Just to perform the attack, the Hokage had to replace his hand on the ground and balance himself while providing the foundation to keep his leg high enough off of the ground to contact his intended target, but now he found himself faced with an outstretched arm tipped with an open palm -when fighting a Hyuga, being out of arm's reach didn't always mean being out of range of their Taijutsu. The Vacuum Palm fiercely rippled his clothing as he collapsed down and back, abruptly stopping the kick in favor of not taking that palm head on.

Now the fight had become interesting. Kazuya swept his leg around, producing enough force to bring him up to his feet with a small rolling backflip, while also using the same motion to knock away Tsuyo's outstretched hand, in case she felt the need to release another vacuum shell. Just a moment's contact with the ground when upright was enough to initiate the next phase of the Hokage's assault. He started the motion for the precursor sweep kick, but kept his leg reeled in so that it could not make contact, but still built up the necessary momentum for him to launch a gut kick that would pull Tsuyo into the air for him to follow up with a jump kick that would immediately precede a heel drop to finish off the Leaf Great Hurricane combination.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Akame Thu Oct 19, 2017 5:30 pm

Her counter was somewhat successful, forcing the Hokage to abandon his cocky approach in not using his arms as well as getting him into a vulnerable position. Her palm feint seemed to also work, as she noted the Hokage had been well placed to land a solid kick on her had she not been prepared. Instead he moved to kick her hand away which she wouldn't allow. She pulled her hand away while dispersing the chakra she had gathered back into her system to place them both on the ground above her head while her legs pulled into her chest and her body curled. Anticipating an attack as soon as the Hokage was able to do so from her vulnerable spot, she knew that getting to her feet with her inferior speed wasn't an option. With him using Gokenryu, a style she knew quite well herself, there were some prime choices in approaching the situation from the Hokage's part. Aggression is what she would do, and is what she prepared for.

When he launched at Tsuyo immediately upon contacting the ground, she would be ready for him. She had rolled her body in the same manner she would would if she was trying to launch herself back to her feet without rolling, by kicking the air and pushing off the ground. However, this was not her intention. In a somewhat unorthodox implementation of the technique, Tsuyo would utilize the Leaf Rising Wind to launch herself at the Hokage at a far more horizontal angle than the technique was usually initiated at. Her goal was not to drive him into the air, but to instead drive her feet into his chest as he recklessly charged her. The power she had behind the attack would more than suffice to break through his guard, if he hadn't been holding back much when he kicked her earlier. She was betting on him having charged her and was aiming to get him mid stride and launch him into the air at an angle rather than straight vertical. She kept her wits about her, knowing she could take a blow by doing this. If that happened, she had an idea in mind to make the exchange mutual rather than one-sided as this match appeared to be.

If successful, Tsuyo would roll as her legs fell from the attack as her hands still provided enough leverage for her to do so. This allowed her to land on her feet and right herself while swiveling to face where Kazuya's general area should be. She stood at an angle, left hand as her lead hand. It was was held out with a slightly bent elbow, hand curled into a fist, with her right fist back further and at an intersecting angle to provide a cross guard. The jonin peered over the top of her arms, ready to react to whatever Kazuya would could throw at her. It was his turn to be the aggressor now, since he had been kind enough to follow the "ladies first" policy. Beads of sweat appeared on her forehead, and she noted that stamina was starting to get a bit low. She couldn't do a high intensity fight like this for very much longer without getting really serious, that was for sure.

Training With The Hokage Empty Re: Training With The Hokage

Post by Kazuya Uchiha Mon Oct 23, 2017 7:51 pm

Following up the leg sweep, Kazuya's right foot was ready to swap out and launch the skyward kick that would send Tsuyo off of the ground, but her chosen counter had positioned her body in such a way that he'd not be able to follow through with his combination as easily as he had hoped. Rather than adapt his assault to her movements, he elected to use a counter to maintain his control over the battle's flow. As his feinted sweep kick turn reached its completion, he appropriated the gathered momentum not into a kick, but into an even faster turn, using his unnatural ability to meld the motions of his body's many muscles like a river and the keen intuition of his mind, enhanced by the superior perception of his eyes, to flawlessly predict the path of her kick and grab her leg. His body contorted just shy of her impact range and flung the woman with such celerity that none of her movement power was lost, but rather enhanced by the Hokage's twisting motion. He threw her well over his head and several meters passed him, where she'd presumably land on her feet, no doubt ready to return on the offensive.

Kazuya preempted this and started to reach under his robes, to touch his belt and draw out one of the many weapons he had sealed there, but his hand suddenly stopped as he realized how much time had gone by. The sun was now very much lower than it was when he'd first come to this training field. All of the paperwork that was on his desk in the morning -most left over from yesterday, had been caught up already, but now that several hours had passed, there was sure to be many urgent matters that required his attention.

"That's enough for today. You did well; I look forward to the next time." The Hokage said with a quick smile before vanishing, the faint image of his hands flashing into the ram hand seal the last thing visible to those with the ability to even see it.

Well shit, that wasn't what she had thought would happen. Tsuyo was sent flying through the air rather than getting pummeled into the ground like she had expected to happen. Damn good thing she's a ninja though, as her cat-like reflexes allowed her to twist in the air and then land in a crouch while sliding back a few meters. Her left hand braced herself further on the ground, the glove protecting her skin from the fallen sticks and hard pieces of earth on the ground. Kazuya did not charge her, apparently expecting her to try something again. Tsuyo stood, preparing her guard as she had planned to before while thinking about what to do next. It was there that Kazuya would speak, calling an end to the spar. Tsuyo blinked, not thinking they were anywhere close to done yet. She wasn't even bleeding yet!

Then she noticed that it had gotten late fairly quickly, unsure of how that had happened. This temporary bewilderment stopped her from processing the Hokage leaving with the Body Flicker, and by the time she noticed it was too late for her to go after him. She could track him with Byakugan, but it was more of a pain than it was worth. She made sure to gather all of her usable arrows from the training ground before heading home for the evening, glad for the chance at a good nights rest.
