Description: This is a Kenjutsu technique that utilizes a basic Ninjutsu as a basis for the technique that may only be activated if a Kenjutsu fighting style is currently active. The focusing of chakra is done with the slow drawing of a blade and a slow inhalation of breath to steady ones self rather than with the normal hand seals of ninjutsu. Once the blade has been drawn, Nobunaga releases the focused chakra in the form of afterimages that utilize a momentary usage of the basic clone technique to generate afterimages. Nobunaga constantly releases these up to a maximum of fifteen afterimages per post, depending on how much chakra he wishes to pay.

The afterimages last just long enough to feign doing one action, having no tangible physical form. They're meant purely for distraction, and as such they move at one tier higher than the Nobunaga's base Coordination. The number of them produced lowers the opponent's Perception by a -, and then by an additional - for every 5 produced in a post after the first 5 if the afterimages move at one tier or higher to the target's Perception.

This technique requires that Nobunaga remain moving, to continue the trickery on his target and make the most out of the afterimages. If he stops moving for longer than one post, then it becomes abundantly clear who the real Nobunaga is and which ones are afterimages. That is why this must be used as and alongside a Kenjutsu technique, as that is the style of fighting Nobunaga is most familiar with.

Weaknesses: The afterimages hold no physical form, and so their attacks do no damage. If the target's Perception is equal to one tier less than the afterimages move, they only receive a the first minus to Perception for dealing with the large number of afterimages in tandem with Nobunaga's attacks. Relatively short range, too. If Nobunaga stops moving for too long, the opponent is immune to the debuff until he begins to move again.

Description: Utilizing his unique mastery over Body Flicker as the base of the technique, Nobunaga purposefully slows his maximum speed while using Body Flicker so that he may maintain complete control over his movements while using it. This allows him to maintain the boosts of Body Flicker specifically while in the middle of combat for precision movements as long as Nobunaga's Coordination is high enough to do so. In return, the boost he receives is only ++ instead of the regular tier that Body Flicker would give him.

Weaknesses: Gives a small boost to Nobunaga than regular Body Flicker in exchange for the increased utility. If he stops moving for longer than one post, the technique will cancel and he will need to reactivate it again. If his Speed with this technique exceeds his Coordination, the bonus is reduced to a single + and his Coordination is decreased by one -. Because this is a combat related usage of Body Flicker, it must be used with some sort of physical style equal to or higher than its rank. In Nobunaga's case, this is a Kenjutsu style.

Description: Akuma no Ikari is a style that is centered around aggression and counters. The only time one goes on the defense with this style is to counter at the next possible opportunity and get right back into an offensive of their own. Nobunaga developed this style for two individual combinations of blades: A single blade, typically a Nodachi, or a katana and wakizashi combination. Depending on which he chooses, the style will play itself differently.

If he utilizes a single blade, typically a nodachi for the reach and weight, he gains a ++ to Strength and a tier to Coordination. The aggressiveness of a single blade leads to very fast and heavy blows in order to overpower Nobunaga's opponents. Quick slashes utilizing the longer reach of the nodachi to punish an opponent from further away are the primary ways of fighting, with lunges almost entirely absent due to the ease with which one can parry a lunge on a larger blade. Letting someone inside that reach is never a good thing, and can force Nobunaga onto the defensive. There isn't much acrobatic maneuvers with this part of the style, as Nobunaga must stay rooted on the ground to maintain the power behind his strikes. Makes a great style to fight enemies around the same speed as he is but who are physically weaker. Using a blade smaller than a nodachi lowers the Strength bonus by one +.

The katana and wakizashi variant relies less on force and more on quick attacks. Breaking out the dual wielded blades is a tactic commonly taken against foes who are very fast or who prefer acrobatic styles of fighting. It is also useful against armored foes, as the quicker attacks let Nobunaga exploit the gaps in his target's defenses more easily. When utilizing this style of attack, the aggressiveness of the style comes more from quick bursts of attacks meant to overwhelm an opponent. Dual slashes, lunges, and acrobatic tactics are more common than in the single blade version of the style. This makes it easier to fight multiple targets at once, but makes duels against opponents around the same strength as him much tougher. Grants a + to Speed and a tier and one + to Coordination. This version cannot be used by any other combination than a katana and wakizashi.

Weaknesses: The style, regardless of the route taken, is one bent on aggression and destroying your opponent quickly and ruthlessly. This single mindedness can lead to increased risk of injury and worse injuries when they do happen as well as a narrowed thought process. Lowers Constitution and Intelligence by a - regardless of which version is used while in use.

What's the minimum number of afterimages required by Shimmer Step for the first - to Perception to take effect? Can this technique only be used in increments of five? Or are you allowed to split the chakra cost to make less than five?

Shimmer Step seems to only generate clones, not afterimages. If they were afterimages, he would need to move between them, but that is a separate technique that already exists: Afterimage Clone.

Two-Step is fine, but both it and Shimmer Step list Kenjutsu as their skills, yet neither actually involve the use of swords. Shimmer Step mentions a sword in its preparation, but that doesn't read as necessary, and I don't see how Shimmer Step involves the use of Fuuton at all. It really just looks like single attack, short duration, ethereal clones.

Reworded Shimmer Step to better define how they're afterimages utilizing the Clone Technique as a basis as well as some other clarification. And no splitting costs, increments of five is all that may be done. Otherwise, it'd be hard to "overwhelm" someone with them if you're only using one or two. I suppose if I wanted to make another tech utilizing only one or two I will, but for the base tech, only increments of five.

Basically what it does is generates a clone momentarily, like less than a second, and generates an afterimage based on that clone which is what gives it the ability to perform entirely different actions from one another without Nobunaga himself having to actually perform those actions himself. This is what differentiates it from Afterimage Clone; Nobunaga is not in any of the afterimages generated. He is just one among many making an individual move, which is why its usage drops Perception the more afterimages are generated. Any of them could be the real one, but only one ever will be.

Yeah, I was gonna make it based on Fuuton at the start and just forgot to take that out as I edited it. Removed that as well as the kenjutsu skill, though kept the notes about the swords themselves in the technique. Drawing a blade is the cast for Shimmer Step, so kenjutsu is a fairly important aspect of the technique even if it doesn't require the skill.
