Kumogakure Gates - Page 8 Empty Re: Kumogakure Gates

Post by Shimiko Chinoike Mon Oct 21, 2019 10:12 am

Shimiko arrived back in Kumogakure after her trip to the Land of Hot Springs. While she was gone she had a lot of time to think and process the events that took place in that country. She had formulated a plan on how to deal with the eventual fallout that would transpire as a result of the death of her parents. Some would be suspicious now doubt, but that was the cost of accumulating and consolidating power.

Kye was polite to say the least, and he commented on how loaded she was. Tsuki giggled in response to that.

"Well I prefer to be prepared for anything, even if they are thieves. Should they put up a fight, I rather have the versatility to counter them." The brunette raised a hand to tuck a lock of hair behind her ear. In truth she takes that as a compliment since it was one of the things that made perfect sense to Tsuki. Perhaps it is because of her naturally keen battle sense, but Tsuki likes to prepare in case something else outside of the mission details were to occur. Worse case scenario, she'll just pop a smokescreen so that they can escape hopefully.

Tsuki is swift on signing whatever paperwork that is required of her at the gates. Expected return was later in the evening. As they were leaving, Kye inquired about her clan.

"Oh certainly! Of course I'm not anyone of significant just yet, but I aim to be the next clan leader! Although I seem to be the only Tatsuda here in the city." Tsuki says  enthusiastically as it wasn't wrong. Most of the Tatsuda as far as Tsuki knows is elsewhere. Possibly at Iwagakure where they originally came from. However Tsuki hasn't heard so much as a whisper from them. So really the only thing Tsuki has of the Tatsuda is the emblem, books, and some scrolls of Tatsuda techniques that seem to be written by someone named Akeno.

Shimiko walked out of the backgate super secret ANBU-only entrance. She was wearing her standard mission gear consisting of: Chinowakagumi (Filled to the brim with blood), all six sai of serration, her twin tessen of terror strapped to her right thigh, a ninja pouch with her custom serrated kunai on her left, a hip pouch with extra tools and military rations, and her two custom melody arms one attached to each forearm. She headed to her secret location fully intent on executing her ultra-sensitive mission

    Exit to ???

Yui had made it landing her dragon about half a mile away and dismissing it and walking toward Kumos gates. She did have some very important news and it was important enough Kumo would want it. Without her knowing if she could trust her own village after what she witnessed in Kiri she chose to go with the one place she felt society had the least control approaching the gates she would stop and speak to the guards politely and calm.

"I have to speak to either Nariko, Shimiko if either is in or to the head of the Jashin church, I have vital information and a threat to this village, no the entire world they need to hear. The name is Kotoshura Yui I was kidnapped and information-seeking me likely was spread. If you can get anyone to come to the gates and speak to me directly it is important go ahead and check the chakra signature yourself I am sure they put this information out in case I arrived somewhere."

She would politely wait her appearance was clearly that of the missing shinobi and the information had been given to the other villages. She hoped with the information she provided she would be offered sanctuary until she either could return to Konoha or stay there depending on if she could trust Konoha was safe.

Kumogakure Gates - Page 8 Empty Re: Kumogakure Gates

Post by Nariko Fri Nov 29, 2019 6:50 pm

As the girl approached the gates, the guards, not particularly worried about a lone girl, although a little suspicious about seeing a dragon off from the distance, let her approach. Kumo's gates, well manned and staffed, had plenty of people to respond in case of an attack. It didn't take them long to notice who Yui actually was, as Nariko had spread her appearance to the other shinobi to try and find, and as she asked for help, a scout took off from the gates to head into the village, intent on getting Nariko and bringing the Raikage to the girl.

While Nariko was being fetched, another of the guards ushered Yui into a room connected to the side of the gates. It was usually used more as a detainment zone, but Yui wasn't being arrested. Someone had gone to fetch her some food and a warm drink, and she was bade to take a seat and relax for a little bit while the Raikage would be on her way in a bit.

With Shimiko out of town, and the guards absolutely refusing to gather anyone from the church that wasn't a shinobi at the very least (Jashinism wasn't so wide spread that it was popular with them, especially with most of the shinobi that Nariko liked to employ), Nariko was the only one that they felt they should retrieve. Besides, Nariko was the Raikage, and this was a matter of affairs that could have impact with several villages, given that Yui had been kidnapped by someone, and with matters of international affairs, only a high ranking official should be able to really make any decisions.

    -

It didn't take her all that long to be fetched, as Nariko's network was pretty fast about getting important information to her. Already in response gear, as she just wore her Jounin outfit around, Nariko headed to the gates immediately. She had the hat identifying her as the Raikage around her neck, but other than that wouldn't really stand out all that much.

Approaching the detainment zone, Nariko stepped in and asked the guards around to step outside and not let anyone into the room, unless it was an ANBU or Shimiko. She didn't really want to be disturbed while talking to Yui, nor did she want anyone getting any information out of Yui as well. Things were problematic enough lately with Shimiko letting Mora work closely with her, but she didn't really like how comfortable the Orthodoxy were getting here. The woman was getting a big head and viewed herself as more important than she was, but Nariko was still in charge.

Taking a seat, Nariko motioned to Yui. "Are you okay?" she asked, wanting to make sure that Yui was doing well before she began to talk about the business that she was here for. "I know that you went missing for a bit, kidnapped, but it looks like you got away from your captor. The Hokage, Neko-sama, sent us some information about you in hopes we could locate you, but there was no sign of you in our lands, so I was beginning to fear the worst."

As she spoke, she watched Yui, unsure on whether or not the girl was a danger to her. She watched her, paying close attention to the girl, just in case, but she wanted to believe that she wasn't here to cause any problems, and was legitimately a victim here who had escaped.

Kumogakure Gates - Page 8 Empty Re: Kumogakure Gates

Post by Kotoshura Yui Fri Nov 29, 2019 7:12 pm

Yui was escorted to a detainment room standard practice for an unknown trying to enter the village. She was not too worried and it was not long before Nariko entered the room, she had ushered out the guards and she was certainly in no mood for a fight after her pit fights as well as fighting nine tails. When Nariko asked if she was alright her hands were shaking some, she was fine but Rin and Tachi they likely were dead or will die because of her actions.

"I... will be fine but let me tell you Kiri is a threat to this entire world, I had been kidnapped and taken by a man named Menza. It is my fault this happened I made a deal with the devil because of desperate times had I, not our village would likely have been crushed by nine tails. He took me to some island, I am not sure of its location because we teleported using some sort of Fuuinjutsu. There I was treated for my grave injuries from pushing myself with my gate use to fight nine tails, after a month or so not sure how long it has been he took me to Kiri. He offered that I stay with them and help them but the kage Kayoji refused instead he struck a deal with Mena. He offered Kyoji a tailed beast in place for taking citizens for experiments from lands they had taken over."

She would let this sink in as she took a moment to calm herself her anger was still massive and her hatred knew no bounds. Menza would pay and so would Kiri for betraying her and throwing her to die in the pits.

"After they struck a deal we were once again teleported back there I met a man, no a monster named Nikiyo. He was the former Mizukage and was also working with the society, that man is not to be taken lightly I nearly died in that room to him. He then took me to the pits ripped all my clothing off of me and threw me in there to fight to the death. Needless to say, I am a more talented fighter and won as soon as I did I fled and made my way toward this village. The reason is simple I know the Society doesn't have as good of connections here, I could not trust returning to Konoha and cannot trust Kiri at all. Menza can teleport to many locations he will have small seals placed to teleport, please if I were you search your village high and low and destroy those seals. "

"My actions likely will cause the man I love to die and my brother, I had a seal on my foot but I chose to cut my own foot off and have it regrow through my use of the gates in order to be free from this man. He is a very dangerous man, as well as a man named Raijin, are nature clan members. the Society is making very dangerous moves and attempting to gather many tailed beasts, I think they are after something else as well but not sure what."

She would wait for a response from Nariko to see what she had to say, this was a lot of information but it was clear Yui was not lying the rage and seething hatred anytime she said Menza name showed her dislike for the society and this man.

Kumogakure Gates - Page 8 Empty Re: Kumogakure Gates

Post by Nariko Fri Nov 29, 2019 8:00 pm

Yui began to more or less spill out everything to Nariko in one breath, with Nariko listening intently, not wanting to interrupt the girl as she told her story and pointed some serious accusations towards Kiri. Menza was the one who kidnapped her, so she claimed, and that wasn't a name that Nariko was personally acquainted with, so that led her to believe that Yui was telling the truth on this regard. And it lined up with some reports she'd had of Kiri forces having kidnapped people from some minor nations, which Yui wouldn't have any reason to know about otherwise, unless she'd been present for this deal.

If Kiri had struck a deal with the Society, one of their former Kage apparently being a member as well, that didn't bode well for them. How long had Kiri been in league with the Society? If even Kage were members of the group, that meant that they had a massive power balance on their side, much more threatening than Nariko had originally believed. A Jinchuuriki of their own in Nozomi (who was without a doubt powerful, given what they knew of her), a powerful Kage level threat with Honiko, the famed Nikuyo, a Nature Clan member with Raijin, and this man Menza who had a Bijuu in his possession to give away? And Menza was also a Nature Clan member himself? And striking a deal with Kiri none the less.

Not only that, but the man could teleport? Nariko understood why Yui had come to her now. There wasn't any other choice, as she didn't want to be intercepted halfway back to Konoha.

With this overwhelming information, Nariko was glad she'd sent the guards out. She couldn't afford to have anyone know this information without her say so. "Well then... keep this information to yourself for now Yui. You're free to stay in the village under my protection until we can sort this stuff out. I assure you, the Society has no known presence in this village, Shimiko would find them if there were. But there's some issues going on here as well, with the Orthodoxy. I don't want them to find out about this before I figure out what my gameplan is going to do, I don't really need that headache. Do you want me to send a message to the Hokage that you're safe in my village, or should I keep that to myself for now?"

That was Yui's personal choice, Nariko would do what she wanted on that regard. If Konoha wasn't safe to go to physically, until the seals were dealt with, then perhaps the least she could do would be to let the Hokage know that Yui was safe and sound, and try and coordinate some sort of deal with them. Inwardly, Nariko swore to herself, although Yui would only see a thoughtful face on the Raikage, who always maintained a level headed look in situations like this. Shimiko chose a terrible time to go on a Black Ops mission, Nariko needed to speak with her immediately.

"At the very least if I send out a message we can get your brother and lover some warning or get them to safety. I'm assuming they're in Konoha?" Nariko asked, immediately concerned about saving whoever she could. Nariko was a very practical woman, and wanted to make the best use of her knowledge and time.

Kumogakure Gates - Page 8 Empty Re: Kumogakure Gates

Post by Shimiko Chinoike Fri Nov 29, 2019 9:11 pm

Lady Superior Mora arrived at the Kumogakure gates in style. She wore a mitar and priestly cloak over her regular black tunic. The cloak was made from fine silk and studded with precious gemstones. The Church's coffers had been swelling with donations from new converts. Faithful Jashinists from around the world were also paying tribute to the most successful denomination in the religion's long and bloody history. The Church's foremost leader wore two rings on each hand (one on her ring finger the other on her middle). One ring black, the other red for each hand. Finally, she carried a long silver staff with a twisted crucifix at the top. The Church was not a vain or worldly institution. It had existed for centuries in the sewers of the city and the caves of the countryside. Its leaders had worn rags and had eaten crickets since its founding. However, now that the Necrossiah's return was close at hand, it was only natural the the wealth of the modern world find its way to God's representatives. The Orthodoxy did not shy away from this inevitability. They embraced it. With money, came power and with power, came glory. Yet as wealthy as Mora appeared, her face was haggard. It was clear that she had been working tirelessly to grow and maintain the Church. She had to constantly write and interpret doctrine, perform important rites, settle disputes between Sacristans, and keep the Church's hand in the machinery of village business. The dark bags under her eyes told of sleepless nights and endless prayers. But despite the physical toll leadership took, she would never back down from her calling. Jashin still had use of her and she would serve him until her dying breath.

The Lady Superior was surrounded by a group of A-Rank Assault shinobi. These ninja were dressed in blood-red robes with their faces covered. They marched towards the gates in a protective circle, essentially shielding Mora from anyone foolish enough to attack her. Eventually, they'd reach the detainment zone. They were a respectable distance from the building in which Nariko and Yui currently resided. The Raikage had a head start on handling the situation. It was her shinobi that acted as the first responders and Mora had only heard about the situation second-hand through her informants. Mora was a bit ticked that Nariko did not respect her enough to independently alert her to the situation. She knew Nariko did not particularly like her or her influence, but she had at least hoped by now the woman would have yielded on the subject. The Church was not going anywhere and they would not be content with being idle fools with no say in military affairs. Jashin had commanded the Church to govern with righteous authority and Mora had every intention on doing just that.

The Orthodoxy Militia parted at the detainment zone blockade to reveal Lady Superior Mora. A guard politely informed the sortie that no one save ANBU would be permitted in the area.  One of the men in her group stepped forward and got in the guard's face. The red-hooded, red-robed individual was muscular and physically imposing. By now it should be fully obvious that Kumogakure no longer had a monopoly on violence in the country.

"Her Holiness seeks to enter the detainment zone so that she may advise and counsel Raikage Nariko. Do not interfere."

    The guards did not budge.

The Orthodoxy Militia prepared to march forwards anyways when Mora held up a hand.

"No need for drama everyone. We are all on the same side.....Nariko-sama will want to see me though. So I suggest you tell her I'm outside waiting to be let in. Shimiko has deputized me to handle sensitive information as a result of my considerable degree of experience in international affairs. It has therefore become customary for the Church to take point on issues concerning national security."

Mora would patiently wait for the Kumo gate guards to deliver her message. She wasn't keen on starting a riot at the detainment zone, but she wasn't interested in backing down either. People needed to understand that the Church was an authority to be respected and consulted.

    3 A-Rank Assault Groups Present

Kumogakure Gates - Page 8 Empty Re: Kumogakure Gates

Post by Kotoshura Yui Fri Nov 29, 2019 10:13 pm

Yui was glad Nariko seemed to believe her which was good it was all truthful, she asked if she wanted her to send a message to her kage and that's when it struck she said Nekosama. Had her cousin become the kage, she had been away fighting to the death against nine tails.

"You said Neko sama... by chance was this Tatsu... she was not the kage last time I was in Konoha, I was sent to fight nine tails with... the man I love Rin Uchiha by Masuyo. I know he had lived according to Menza if Tatsu is indeed the kage yes give her a message but it must be only for her eyes. There are forces in Kiri I cannot trust such as Akikio Uchiha. I do not know what his motives are but he is someone I personally do not trust. As for getting Rin and my brother Tachi to safety, I doubt it is possible Aki would never allow his precious pawn Rin not to be at his beck and call. My brother Tachi also has a mark on his body he can't be hidden and unless it is removed he would die. Menza has many of those seals placed around Konoha and many people in Konoha working for him."

Yui would let her absorb this information but it sounded like a lot of commotion was going on outside. She wondered who would dare disturb a meeting between a kage and herself. Whoever it was must be someone that themselves above a village's laws, was a power struggle happening in the village.

Kumogakure Gates - Page 8 Empty Re: Kumogakure Gates

Post by Nariko Fri Dec 06, 2019 5:07 pm

Nariko nodded as Yui gave her consent to send out a message to Neko-sama. It appeared that the hokage was her cousin, so that much was pretty interesting. Things were starting to add up to her. The name Tatsu didn't ring a bell, but that was apparently familiar to Yui, which was enough for her to confirm. "The Hokage just signed as Neko-sama and put a paw print on the paper. I don't know about the name Tatsu, but if you're familiar with it, then it must have some merit. Yes, Masuyo is no longer the Hokage. I'll send a message then, for sure."

Yui had spoken a little about Akihiro Uchiha and Rin Uchiha, two names she was quite familiar with from the tourney. Akihiro was an incredibly intelligent kid, for sure, but what his agenda was seemed to be a mystery. She could understand why there was some suspicion from Yui, given that it was usually best to be suspicious of intelligent people. Nariko wasn't too concerned about him, but she wasn't around him enough to be super suspicious of him. Rin was pretty talented from his limited time during the tournament that he had fought. Konoha had some powerful individuals. She didn't know the name Taichi, but that was apparently Yui's brother, and if Tatsu/Neko-sama was her cousin, then they were also related, so the Kage would protect Taichi. That meant that Yui's friends and family would be safe, so Yui could be safe here for now.

While she was musing, she heard the commotion outside, and Nariko turned slightly, facing the door for a moment, listening to something. Her hearing was impeccable, and there was no mistaking the sound of Mora's voice. Eyebrows furrowing, Nariko grimaced slightly. The woman already knew about Yui's arrival? So much for keeping secrets. Nariko held up a hand to Yui, and motioned for a moment of silence, while she made a shadow clone.

Nariko's clone moved to the door, opening it slightly and shifted out of the door, closing it behind her without revealing the people inside. The clone raised an eyebrow slightly, looking at the 9 soldiers surrounding Mora and then shifted her eye to one of the guards, who spoke up. "This woman claims that you will want to see her. That she is deputized by Shimiko, and can advise you."

The clone nodded and shifted her gaze back to Mora, having already heard the conversation. "Careful there Lady Mora. Showing up with this much force might be..... mistaken as an attempt to have a show of force here. Allow me to give you some reprieve. This isn't any of your concern, and before you say anything else, Shimiko isn't here to convince me otherwise. I don't require any counsel right now, I have my situations under control, so return to your home or your church. I will consider any further forces remaining here as a threat and have you detained if you don't leave. And you're not deputized any further, so no need to worry about that anymore."

The clone crossed her arms and the guards around her took up a more prepared stance. While the ANBU guarding the door had already been watching, the other guards on duty had also turned their attentions to the situation. Tensions were high, and Nariko knew that most of her shinobi wanted something to happen, any excuse to take out Jashin supporters would work for them, but Nariko was always just a little bit too tolerant for anything to happen. Everyone knew why. It wasn't a secret, Shimiko was her student, and the head of her ANBU. Still, Nariko had been a great Kage, so the shinobi listened to her, despite the dissent on that area.

Still, Nariko didn't want this to evolve into a fight. Shimiko would be mad, for sure, and they did have some strong forces. While she was sure that a fight would result in her win, especially with Shimiko not around to protect Mora and the Church currently, she knew that Kumo wouldn't escape unscathed, and war was already perhaps in Kumo's future. "I'm sure Shimiko will brief you anyhow when she returns and I fill her in. I'm not naive enough to think she doesn't discuss things with you."

Kumogakure Gates - Page 8 Empty Re: Kumogakure Gates

Post by Shimiko Chinoike Sat Dec 07, 2019 11:25 am

After a disrespectfully long amount of time, Nariko finally came out to greet the village's primary spiritual leader. Mora could tell by the look on her face that she had no intention of letting her into the detainment zone. However, as jaded she was, she was still taken aback by the Raikage's words. She replied in a somewhat offended tone of voice.

"Raikage-dono you misunderstand me. These shinobi are not here to intimidate you." They were. "They are here solely for my protection and the protection of the people of Kumogakure. When I heard a stranger had arrived at the Kumogakure gates riding a dragon, I assumed the worst and when I heard you took this stranger into custody I knew that my experience would be valuable"

Nariko wasted no time dismissing her in the rudest of fashions. The Lady Superior stood there silently for a moment as she considered the audacity of the Raikage's words. The Church had been playing a major role in village affairs for years. Starting with the Ken Affair (more like debacle) and continuing with the regular intelligence reports she received from Shimiko. Not content with dismissing her, Nariko stripped her of her deputy status and insisted that Shimiko would merely fill Mora in on the details when she returned. She was intelligent enough to realize that Shimiko would brief her on the situation either way, but the way she had said it had irked Mora. Nariko knew Shimiko's loyalty to the Church was strong but instead of making an effort to keep the Lady Superior happy, she chose to antagonize her. Indeed the Defender of Faith was not here to protect her or vouch for her but that wouldn't deter Mora. She had waited decades for this moment and when the time came she would not shy away from her destiny. Nariko needed to understand that the Church would not tolerate being locked outside important matters of village governance. It simply would not do. Jashin had commanded them to speak and act with his authority and now that they had the strength to do that, it would be a grievous violation of their sacred law to back down in the face of adversity.

If our God is for us, then who could ever stop us? And if our God is with us, then what could stand against us?

Mora raised a hand and dismissed her Orthodox-Nin. The red clad shinobi hesitated but slowly retreated from the area. It would not do to have her men slaughtered over something as trivial as this. She did not want it to be said that she escalated the situation or attempted to overthrow her Kage. That was not her intention. At least not today. The ninja left the gates and returned to the Church's home base: St. Memori's Cathedral. Once the Orthodoxy Militia had vacated the premises, Mora looked Nariko in the eye and spoke plainly.

"I'm sorry that my shinobi frightened you" The sub-text was clear. Mora was mocking Nariko for expressing concern over a small squadron of hired guns. "I have sent them away as a gesture of goodwill. Unfortunately, I am going to have to refuse your request to leave. I insist that you allow me in the detainment zone to observe the potential threat this village faces. I will not harm you or act violently towards you. I am at your disposal and although I am Lady Superior of the Orthodoxy I serve at your pleasure when it comes to military affairs. What I cannot allow is for you to continue treating this Church as though it were any old institution. We have a divine right to guide this country and I will not acquiesce that right. You and your ilk will simply have to accept that we are not going anywhere. We can work together as Jashin meant us to or....."

    There will be war.
    "You can arrest me"

Mora would offer her hands to Nariko. "I will not leave the area nor will I hurt anyone. If you will not put me by your side then put me in chains Nariko-Bō." The tables had turned. Mora was employing a tactic that had never before been used in the history and tradition of the Orthodox religion. Civil disobedience. The Jashinists were more likely to cut off the heads of those who opposed them. They were a martial faith and they used terror and violence as weapons. However, Mora had learned that winning the high ground was not just about blood and steel. It was about hearts and minds. She was essentially goading Nariko into arresting her. She knew it would only whip the faithful into a frenzy and turn Shimiko against her sensei. The religion had been growing in popularity and Mora had won many new allies. The elderly and sweet woman being tossed into a cell and clad in irons was a powerful image. One that could be used to rally her flock and encourage them to disobey the Kage's governance structure. Mora had even casually insulted Nariko when she made the demand. She had opted to use the honorific "Bō"which was exclusively used for little boys and babies. She was mocking the Kage, calling her a petulant child that was way out of her depth.

Something certainly was going on outside the door, there was a lot of commotion as Yui would keep a close eye on the door. The clone had gone outside but the real Nariko was with her, or at least she would assume so. Yui was an unknown force ad no way Nariko would leave a clone with her to see if she was going to attack.

"I see you have some... issues inside your village as well but let me assure you whoever is being an idiot out there is far less of a threat than the Society is. They have the backing of a nation after all and are using its military to their gains."

Yui felt annoyed with this interference she could easily wipe out whoever it was from the Earth without much effort at all. She wanted to offer help but she figured her doing a massive attack would only incite the people outside.

"If you want me to... make some noise outside disappear in a bang let me know, though I can't promise your village won't take some damage. I would rather not fight had too many of those recently and just want some time to relax if possible, I hear you guys may have some nice saunas I could use one."

Kumogakure Gates - Page 8 Empty Re: Kumogakure Gates

Post by Nariko Tue Dec 10, 2019 1:20 am

"Your soldiers don't frighten me Mora. This area is simply on lockdown currently. There is no current threat to Kumogakure, and the situation is well handled. I have no need for your input. I did not ask for your input. I do not want your input. As for your guards, I appreciate you sending them away, I'm not a fan of arresting people, but dismissing your guards isn't going to get you in. Now, you've been officially warned. If you don't leave, you will be detained, and fined for trespassing." Nariko wasn't going to bend on this. If Mora wanted to force Nariko's hand, then Nariko wouldn't hesitate to do so.

"And make no mistake Mora. I will be issuing a public statement on what actions caused this arrest. That it was your refusal to vacate the premises of a restricted zone that caused it, and not any personal bias against you or your religion. Don't forget, I'm the one who legalized the Orthodoxy. As much sympathy as you might be trying to seek, I'm the one who can't be called biased here. I treat all my subjects with the same level of courtesy. I'd arrest anyone not allowed here if they refused to leave, even my own agents. You're not a member of my military, nor do you have the clearance to be here. Nobody but my ANBU, my Jounin, and my Chuunin do."

Mora may think she was smart, and giving herself ammunition against Nariko, or forcing her to do what Mora wanted for fear of backlash, but Nariko was nothing if not stubborn. The Raikage wasn't a fool to be trifled with, and didn't hesitate to make the tough calls. Mora was playing with fire when it came to Nariko. If Mora wanted to start a holy war against Nariko, then Nariko would put down every bit of force at her disposal to crush the church. But Nariko wasn't going to let that happen quite so easily either.

Nariko's clone crossed her arms, and waited. If Mora didn't leave, then Nariko would nod. "So be it. Detain her, safely. She's elderly, I wouldn't want her to accidentally get hurt. Give her a cell to herself during the booking process. Political and Religious leaders could be in danger of being targeted after all, and I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt. Hold her until confirmation that I've cleared this area comes through. Shouldn't take too long. She will personally be fined, since the actions of the leader aren't the actions of the church, and I can't charge the church itself. 20,000 ryo seems fair, I'm not unreasonable. I know the church doesn't get very much in the way of donations, so her pay couldn't be that substantial. The fine's a formality."

The implication behind the fine was that the Church wasn't quite so powerful as Mora pretended it was. They were still largely dependent on donations to fund anything. It wasn't self sufficient, and like the rest of the religions in Kumo, wasn't granted any sort of government funding.

Whether Mora chose to leave free or in cuffs, before she did so completely, Nariko said one last thing. "Oh, and if you want to discuss a council to offer me your opinion, form one with the other religious leaders. I'll consider allowing special access on otherwise secret matters as they come up, at my discretion of course. Different opinions are welcome, but I won't be granting any one sanctioned religion any more privileges than any other. I'm under no obligation to include you, I do so because I can. I do suggest taking what I give you."

With that, Nariko's clone would disappear, promptly exiting the situation, while the guards would do as bid. One A rank squad and one B rank squad would escort her to the jails, while the remainder would continue their guard of the wall.

    -

Nariko, while inside with Yui was more or less just thinking for a bit while she listened to the outside conflict. Offering a response, Nariko shook her head. "The Society is a big threat, yes, but don't underestimate the Orthodoxy. They are a concern of mine. I can't dedicate too many forces to a blockade right now, since that would leave Kumogakure a little exposed to them. I admit, the timing of this isn't... ideal. If I put my forces to Kiri, then the church could attempt a coup, and try to seize power, which would just put Jashinism in charge of a major nation, arguably worse than the Society."

Nariko looked at Yui for a moment, hoping she understood. The Society, while dangerous, didn't tend to work against Major Nations, and even when it did something wrong, wasn't particularly active otherwise. They gained allies and influence sure, but the targets they'd chosen weren't particularly of note minus the Blood Prison. Jashinism as allowed in Kumogakure currently was tolerable, but if they were given free reign, then it would get massively out of hand.

"I don't know what you know about the Orthodoxy of Jashinism, but it isn't like other religions. It's somewhat tolerable as a religion because I imposed restrictions on their sacrifices. Other nations and people I'm sure just think Kumo is a cesspool, because all they hear is 'Jashinism is allowed in Kumo' but that's only partly true. However, if they were allowed power over the nation itself, then those restrictions would be removed. Then suddenly the entire world is in danger. The Society is important, absolutely. No denying that. It's just, unfortunately, not the only concern."

Nariko sighed. "But no, I don't think you need to do any fighting. I'll ask that you stay here for the time being, until the area's secure outside, and then you'll be free to go to the saunas. As for lodging...." Nariko thought for a moment, before grabbing a piece of paper and writing down an address. "This is my parent's old home. I can have some guards stationed there for you if you like. I don't want anything to happen to you in my village. If I have any advice though, stay away from Lady Mora or any of the Church. They'll try and get information out of you or convert you, or use you like a weapon somehow. Even if not physically. Mora's smart and likes to twist any situation to her advantage."

Nariko grabbed another piece of paper, writing down a quick letter to Tatsu while the situation outside resolved.

Labeled "For the Hokage's Eyes Only", and marked with Nariko's own personal sigil, the letter read:
    Spoiler:

Nariko handed Yui the letter to read over, making sure that was okay to send, and if Yui was fine with it, would stand up and nod. "One more thing. Do you know the location and coordinates of Konoha? And specifically, the Kage's office? I can get this there without anyone handling it first. Most mail goes through the ANBU first, to verify no traps. But if I know where I'm sending this, I can get it there immediately."

Kumogakure Gates - Page 8 Empty Re: Kumogakure Gates

Post by TsukiTatsuda Tue Dec 10, 2019 7:10 pm

Maybe four hours had passed since Tsuki departed from the inn Akame and Tsuki were staying in. Tsuki was driving a wagon pulled by horses as there were some crates and barrels in the back. Laying on the back is the unconscious Akame who remains asleep. Honestly Tsuki hasn't met anyone who slept this long, and Tsuki is starting to wonder if maybe this was normal for Akame? She doesn't know, she just met the jounin yesterday. Whatever it was, it has made Tsuki very concerned about Akame.

When the guards came into view at the gates, Tsuki waves one of her hands at them to grab their attention. Open hand of course to signal that she isn't an enemy, and she certainly isn't driving that fast either. As she neared the gates and the guards. Tsuki pulls the reigns to make the horses slow to a stop in front of them before calling out to them.

"Excuse me! Can someone help miss Akame? She hasn't woken up and I don't know what to do." Tsuki let's go of the reigns as her headband was clearly on her head. Still she wanted to make sure to eliminate whatever possible hostility and suspicion. The Tatsuda gestures to the back which to the guards if any that are on top of the gates would see Akame laying down. Unharmed as there doesn't appear to be any injury or the like. Yet she still slumbers.

The guards will run their inspection over the wagon and taking note of several things. Such as why a Genin is driving a wagon with a former Anbu Captain unconscious in the back. Although to Tsuki, Akame is a Jounin who has bad sleeping disorder. After the inspection, the guards informed Tsuki that Akame might be hit with an ill that causes people to sleep for a long time or until death. That certainly wasn't good news, and the guards told her that she couldn't bring in the wagon because she doesn't have the paperwork to even have it let alone distribute merchandise.

With a huff, Tsuki hops over to the back of the wagon to pick Akame's unconscious body and pretty much begins her jog for the hospital. After of course she signed into Kumogakure's registry form. The wagon will be moved out of the way by the guards, and the horses were tended to as well. Hopefully, Tsuki can help Akame get better from whatever disease that came over her. By doing so, Tsuki heads for the city's designated medical facility to at least make an effort. Reports can come later in Tsuki's mind.

Mora smirked as Nariko lectured her on her place within Kumogakure. This one was stubborn as a mule and she'd need to beg Jashin's forgiveness for not giving her Church the order to cut her down where she stood. The woman wouldn't budge an inch and she made it absolutely clear that she had no intention of letting Mora amass any more political power. This was rather unfortunate as the Lady Superior was confident that a empowered Orthodoxy would propel Kumo onto the world stage in a way never before seen in shinobi history. Rather than trying to work things out, Nariko continued to throw her weight around. Sure she was the Kage but she had to realize that the Church was becoming quite influential with some very key individuals. That and the armaments of the organization rivaled that of an entire country. To blithely declare that Mora was her "subject" was not just insulting, it was downright foolish. Her followers would ignore whatever press release Nariko gave. They believed her and only her. If she told them that she had been discriminated against by the very one who legalized the Church they'd take her side in an instant.

Mora remained amused and silent for most of the tirade but when Nariko began to mock her for her old age the woman grew quite serious. It was a dangerous thing to imply that a Sacristan was infirm or weak. The barb about her not having enough money to pay a major fine was also grating. The 20,000 Ryo penalty was a greater insult than if it had been 200,000 not that they'd be paying one red cent either way. However, as insulting as those jabs were the one that truly struck a chord with Mora was the bit about forming a "council" with other religions. In truth, she had considered the idea in the past. She had spoken with Arch-Priest Saiga of the Divine Church of Hakkin before. They had worked together closely since her religion's legalization and she had believed that although they had different faiths they could work to each other's mutual benefit. However, with the second bout of plague it appeared as though the Divine Church's influence was waning. She had not spoken to Saiga in some time and their Church's greatest champion, Vestal Priestess Ryuko Shizu Von Rose, was currently in a coma. Mora had no interest in sharing power with a dying religion or worse yet religions she didn't even respect. The idea that she'd sit next to a Buddhist and allow them to help determine the fate of the Lighting Country was completely disrespectful. Mora responded as a group of shinobi placed her in cuffs and prepared to lead her away.

"I take nothing except that which Jashin has already set aside for me my child. Our Lord has looked favorably upon this village after you chose to legalize his Church. If you continue to honor us he will bless you beyond your wildest dreams. But turn against him and his representatives and the consequences will not only be yours to bear"

It wasn't a threat. It was a divine prophesy. Mora held her head high and did not resist as the guards escorted her out of the area and to a detention center further in the city.

    Exit Mora

Andariel arrived at the gates and filled out some basic paperwork. She was participating in the Chuunin Exams this year, fully confident in her ability to win Champion. She tried to stay humble but the adrenaline of combat rushed through her. After completing the necessary paperwork she'd leave to the docks where she was sure people would be waiting to board the ship to the Land of Water.

The twins would report to the gate and had the guards their paperwork, they were to head to the Chuunin exam,s and could not be more excited. They were well-known figures in Kumo not because of the shinobi rank but because they were seen as major figures in the church of Jashin. The pair would exit the gate after their paperwork was cleared as they prepared for a new adventure and returning to Kiri for the first time in a long while.

Valris would arrive at the gates ready to go. His flak jacket was on, his cleaver was slung over his back and he had his other equipment. He had been chosen as one of two Jounin to travel to Kirigakure as a requested Chuunin Exam proctor. The tall yokai would fill out the necessary paperwork and leave, moving down toward where the ship would be waiting.

Post by Kotoshura Yui Sun Dec 15, 2019 9:54 pm

Yui listened to Nariko it appeared she understood they were dangerous but it was also clear she was forced to deal with this church. This religion would make her splitting her forces to deal with the world's true threat impossible, but unlike the society, they had far less power behind them. She did not want Yui to act as Yui read the letter she would nod before she would hand the letter back over to Nariko. She was being offered a place to stay as well as guards, the guards were a good idea only to keep some annoying people away. If she wanted to speak to the church it was on her own merit not because they came to her place to harass her.

"I will accept the guards I want some time to relax and relax my body I have been through a lot. If possible I would like a thorough medical exam as well, to make sure that shady man didn't plant anything inside my body, and to make sure my wounds have healed correctly."

She would wait for the commotion to end outside after it did she would make a move toward the door hoping to be lead to the sauna, to be clean and enjoy a nice hot bath and sauna was heaven to her. She was unsure what her next step would be but one thing was certain she did not trust those with secrets or groups backing them, Akikiho may not be a member of society but the way he behaved made her think he was not someone to trust. She would write down the information Nariko requested before she would head off to enjoy a vacation she desperately needed.

Kumogakure Gates - Page 8 Empty Re: Kumogakure Gates

Post by Shimiko Chinoike Sun Dec 29, 2019 11:31 am

Shimiko had finally arrived at the Kumogakure no Sato gates. In the ANBU's company would be the spitting image of none other than the Second Raikage himself. Shimiko had spoken to Seigi at length about what he was to do and say when they arrived in the village. She had decided against misleading the Kage as to Seigi's true identity, but that didn't mean she couldn't take a position of strategic non-commital when it came to everyone but the Raikage. If people happened to walk around seeing Seigi Chinoike and his sister Shimiko Chinoike then she'd let them beleive that that is what they saw. It would create an aura of mystery, fear, and power that Kumo desperately needed to project in light of recent events. She had instructed Seigi to always say less than necessary and if people asked him where he had been all these years and how he was alive, that he should play coy. "Answer their questions indirectly. Do not confirm nor deny. We need to play this to our advantage. The only people who need to know the truth in Kumo, is you, me, and Raikage Nariko." Shimiko trusted Seigi but she didn't trust him enough to conspire to put him in charge of the village. She knew that Nariko was looking to step down at some point but given the tensions between her administration and the Orthodoxy, she wouldn't do it until she found a suitable successor. Shimiko might be able to finesse him into the position under the pretense of him being her brother but that was a level of deception she wasn't willing to commit. Especially considering that Seigi Douchiwa's real origins were an absolute mystery to everyone including himself.

Shimiko was fully prepared to deal with the panic, backlash, and shock of Seigi's arrival. She was not prepared to be told that Lady Superior Mora had been arrested, jailed, and was now leading a massive protest against the Raikage. When the Kumo Guards saw Seigi, one of them fainted and another began bumbling awkwardly unsure of what to do or say. He opted to call for the ANBU Lead on Internal Security. The man was shocked to see his former Raikage's face but he knew that now was not the time for questioning resurections. He briefed Shimiko on the events within the village including Yui's arrival, Kiri's newly discovered dealings with Menza, and current stand-off between Nariko and Mora.

Shimiko felt a lump in her throat as she realized what this meant. Mora had decided to move on the Kumogakure Government without her being present. The action felt like a betrayal. A sinister and subversive move to play her hand knowing that the consequences would be there for Shimiko to clean up. It hurt and angered her, but as soon as the frustration against Mora crept into her mind it was dismissed. Mora was the Lady Superior of the Church. She spoke with the voice of Jashin and was capable of divining his intent. If this was the course she had chosen then it was Shimiko's obligation to defend her. Fortunately, the stand-off had not erupted in violence...yet. This meant there was still hope for a peaceful resolution. Shimiko would need to move quickly if she was to prevent a Civil War.

It seemed as though the world was falling apart. Everyone, everywhere was in total disorder. Chaos was shooting up like a geyser at every oppurtunity and what was previously thought to be impossible was now becoming commonplace. Even though she was mad at Mora for making such a bold move without warning her, Shimiko could see why she had done it. The hour of providence was fast approaching. Jashin's hand could be seen everywhere and if Shimiko could sense the spiritual recokening then Mora could see it plainly as day. These next few years would determine humanity's destiny just as the Orthodoxy foretold.

Shimiko turned to Seigi and spoke:

"Seigi....there is a situation in the village. The Orthodoxy and Chinoike Clan are standing off against the Raikage. I think seeing you there might cause enough hesitation and surprise to prevent anyone from doing anything rash. I'm not going to ask you to lie or pretend to be someone's your not. But you mentioned to me that you were Raikage for a short period of time.....I'm going to ask you to look the part again. Just kind of.....do that thing you do...."

Shimiko had a hard time putting it into words. There was this aura her brother had given off when he was Kage. It was regal, serious, and patient. Yet underneath was a boiling appetite for war and destruction. He was not the type of Kage you'd mess with and that was made clear through body language alone. Assuming Seigi understood what she had meant, Shimiko would turn around and head through the village gates.

    Exit into Kumo

Kumogakure Gates - Page 8 Empty Re: Kumogakure Gates

Post by Seigi Sun Dec 29, 2019 1:48 pm

Seigi tried to anticipate how Kumogakure would treat him upon seeing him, curious if they'd recognize him as their former Kage or not. He wasn't, but they didn't know that. He needed to play this smart, and keep his cards next to his chest, especially once told of the situation in Kumogakure, which was... a dumpster fire. Seigi toyed with the idea of asking Shimiko if he could read her mind or not to see how the former Kage would have acted, but they didn't have that sort of time. As they made their way inside the village, Seigi found it humorous when the first guard fainted, offering a bit of a smirk towards the other.

"Miss me?" He would ask, already in character. Deception was a survivor's greatest ally.

After they were briefed on the situation, Shimiko officially posed her question, asking him to fill the role. He would nod, taking a deep breath in. Fragments of his memories were still gone, but he believed he had pieced enough together to get a feel for what she was asking, along with what he already knew of the other Seigi. Shimiko liked to talk about him a lot. Tying his hair back to make it look more presentable, he would cross his arms.

"Well, let's get going. We've got work to do."

    Exit to kumo

Kumogakure Gates - Page 8 Empty Re: Kumogakure Gates

    "B-rank?"

"Yessir," Irui exhaled as he glossed the paperwork for checkboxes. "I was told there would be an unusual team, and that it would be good experience for a Genin." He answered, signing his initials and name as he went. "The office in the village said at least a Jounin would be present, and that if I want to see how an operation like this runs, this would be a good start." He finished, and placed his ID card on top, sliding it to the glass partition.

The clerk pulled the papers back over the table and checked them over. He held up the card, looking over Irui's face. "Alright, just so we're clear, you acknowledge the dangers associated with B-rank field work, that injury and fatality are common?"

    "Yes--"

Outside was where reality had begun to set in as he'd stepped out of the office. Parties of shinobi, dressed in full Kumogakure uniform were assembling. His eyes wandered, passing teams of men and women, varying ages  and clans. All of it was so-- so exciting! Without thinking about it, he'd made the leap from the Clan District, to the towering village walls, selected a mission, and now was on the cusp of joining a team. A team filled with professional shinobi!

    [Exit to mission]

    Spoiler:

[OOC: I'm retroactively editing this to include an exit, because I'm traveling, and I its already the 2nd]

    @Irui
A pigeon called to the samurai boy, coming to him as he walked the streets of Kumogakure no Sato onward to the administration building where he would await his next assignment. Kyousuke had been dressed in his usual attire of choice whenever he had expected himself to embark upon a mission. He was a figure of pure black, on his left waist strapped a single katana and his right thigh a pouch that stored his shuriken. Attached to the domesticated fowl’s small talon was the very thing he had just been waiting for. The pigeon landed upon his left shoulder, grabbing the Sasaki boy’s attention and ushering forward its leg. In the form of a miniature scroll would be his next task written out plainly. The Sasaki’s golden eyes would scan the paper in great detail, reading line by line and then rereading it once more upon finishing. A satisfied smirk would form upon the corner of his lips. For a brief moment he could not believe it, but finally it had come.

A week into his arrival and all tasks he had been made to fulfill so far were ones unbecoming of a warrior, and although some of them had truly changed the lives of those that had requested help, he still yearned for something more fulfilling. It had taken awhile, but finally he had proven his worth to the village, finally he had displayed the skill necessary enough to take a task worthy of a warrior’s attention. This time actual combat was expected, not just a possibility. What’s more, he was to assassinate the head of a criminal organization… or at least assist the higher rank shinobi he would be paired with. An opportunity as gold as his pupils, one that he would use to prove himself with.

And suddenly, within a blink of an eye, the figure stood amongst the bustling streets of the cloud village would fade, blurred as if an apparition, reappearing to the rooftops and bursting with speeds worthy of the title shinobi.

With only a few seconds, he had arrived at the gates of Kumogakure no Sato, stood just outside, waiting for the others stated in his mission details. He leaned back coolly, arms crossed, and one leg lifted to rest upon the gigantic gate.

This must've been the Wind Demon. Darkseid was thinking to himself as he was coming up to the gates. The higher ups head saw fit that he deal with this menace with a team. He was ANBU now, training Genin was not his jurisdiction anymore. Though there was pretty much civil unrest in the city. Leaving it in this volatile state felt wrong. But he was aware of his new powers, that would allow him to cover the distance quite fast.

If he finished quickly, then this would be of no concern. Time for him to meet the team, and head out. With Seids good eyes he was able to see the two he was looking for. At the gates leaning against the wall was Kyousuke. At the desk in front, was Irui. As Seid walked up, they could see that he was fully dressed in his Jade armor. Equipped to the tee with his equipment, this was going to be a fight.

"Welcome to this small covert team. The Kumo council has saw use of our skills, and chosen us to handle it. I am Darkseid. Or Seid Otsutsuki, Jounin for this mission." Once they greeted themselves, Seid would go to the Chuunin and sign himself out, alerting them he was leading on a mission.

"If you are all ready. Lets move." Seid would leap forward and out the gates, leading the path.

[Exit to Northwestern Land of Lightning]
