Rising Star - Kotsubo has reached his potential much faster then other ninja in his generation, this grants him an extra 1950 exp to start with but he has to pay that off with future thread EXP rewards.

One-handed Seals - Though he mostly likes to use both hands when it comes to using hand seals, he has no trouble using one-handed seals if the situation calls for it, this results in one tier loss in coordination when Kotsubo uses one hand seals.

    Appearance:
    Photo:

Kotsubo's skin is a light-blue color, he has small white eyes and has 3 curved markings going down underneath each eye, his dark blue hair is a mix of spiky and messy. He is a 6'2 figure with a rather muscular tone to his body, another thing to note is the gills on his shoulders.

Now onto his clothing, he wears the standard Kirigakure flak jacket which is slate grey. The Flak jacket is very basic in design and has no pockets. The most notable features of the flak jacket are the extended shoulder guards and lower extensions on either side to protect the lower abdomen. This flak jacket is fastened from the sides by straps, on the back of the flak jacket is the Hoshigaki's clan symbol which is 3 red gills pointed down in a pattern-like matter. Underneath the Flak Jacket Kotsubo wears a darker grey long-sleeved shirt. For his lower body, Kotsubo wears dark-greyed long pants which fits in color with his long-sleeved shirt, leading down to be tucked in to the top of his slate grey sandals.

    History:
At a young age, the Hoshigaki like to teach their young to get used to the water and to help build up their killing and hunting instincts by hunting fish. Due to their Kekkei Genkai, they usually have no problem breathing underwater and staying underwater for long periods of time. Kotsubo wasn't any different and in-fact, his potential was really shown when training at a young age, as Kotsubo's father, Kurma had considered Kotsubo to be blessed strongly with their kekkei genkai as hinted by Kotsubo's light-blue skin and fish-like features that easily put him apart from other humans.

With his in mind, Kurma wasted no time training Kotsubo, holding no regard for the fact that he was still just a child and pushed him further beyond his limits as one. He even punished Kotsubo sometimes for not catching up with the training or not having the motivation to be training. The rough and rather tireless training that Kurma had forced upon Kotsubo had definitely left a mark on him but he was stronger for it, both mentally and physically.

He joined the academy around his teen years, and he had easily been picked on for his different appearance to that of a humans, as much as he wanted to kick their heads in of those who insults him, he had been told by his father to try and control his bloodlust to fight, to try not to give into it but rather use it as a weapon to depend upon when it's needed. He managed to follow this perfectly until one day, those who bullied Kotsubo had taken it to a physical level, there were about four of them who were picking on Kotsubo and as soon as the first punch was delivered to Kotsubo, he had no reason to hold back. Kotsubo didn't describe what he had done to the students, when a teacher arrived to the scene however he saw 2 of them were lightly damaged, from punches and such meanwhile the other two were majorly injured, hinting that Kotsubo had either gotten far rougher on them and was physically stronger then he looked or he used jutsu against them.

What really happened is during the middle of that fight, his bloodlust had unleashed, to the point where he easily knocked one of the kids down to the ground and kept punching his face in until Kotsubo was satisfied. After that incident happened and undoubtedly when rumors of it flying around the academy, any further insults towards Kotsubo had instantly stopped, the majority of the academy students were even afraid to just look at him. Kotsubo was given a light lecture from his father regarding the incident and said that he "talked" with the academy about his behavior, but it seems the teachers weren't disapproving or scared of what Kotsubo did at all. Kotsubo had only gotten a slap on the wrist for the incident.

He graduated from the academy and became a Genin, getting placed into a squad and grew along with his fellow squadmates decently enough, doing a number of easy-like missions with them and slowly but surely getting stronger for himself at the same time, due to the simple missions that he was assigned as a genin, he didn't really have much chance to battle and his bloodlust was just boiling up over time, waiting to be released and the urge to let it go had gotten stronger and stronger over time.

Over time however, the squad eventually started to take on more field-like missions, unfortunately, when they took on an Assault mission where a few rogue ninja had ran from the village, one of the genin in Kotsubo's squad had died but Kotsubo managed to revenge his comrade by killing the remaining rogue ninja, when the usual genin wouldn't of even stood a chance in the odds that Kotsubo had, as a result of this the Mizukage had read the report on it and chose to promote Kotsubo up to Chuunin, he was 16 at the time when this happened.

Over the years, relations between Kotsubo's squad, with the remaining genin and the mentor had started to become more and more distant, not that it bothered Kotsubo. He only saw it in the sense that they were holding him down and couldn't let loose when they were around. He started to take a liking to assault or guarding jobs that the village had offer, as they offered the most chances for a battle to happen which is what Kotsubo loved. He loved letting go of his bloodlust and going wild on any unknowing enemy that didn't know what Kotsubo was capable of, and the best part was... he got paid for it.

He only grew in strength over the years as an individual ninja who grew apart from his squad, he also started to gain masterful control over his bloodlust, to the point that he can turn it "off and on" for when he really needed it, he was also taught the Shark Jutsu that his clan had exclusive access to, which were taught to him by his father, Kurma. Kotsubo had been held off on becoming a jounin at certain points, as a result he started to do more and more impressive feats that were usually out of range for a chuunin, such as taking on another jounin of the Mist and going toe-to-toe against them in a spar, taking on higher-ranked missions that he managed to complete, eventually any doubts of Kotsubo becoming a jounin started to clear up and at the age of 21, he got promoted to jounin.

Now, Kotsubo had started to reach a crossroads of sorts, he's gained significant power and didn't know what to do with it. He started to became a far more calmed individual over the years and his bloodlust wasn't something that boiled up for him anymore as he can easily control that side of him, he grew the personality of just "going with the flow" and seeing what fate had in store for him, whether it was to continue gaining power by reaching for greater heights in the Mist or something else entirely, he doesn't know yet.

    Personality:
Kotsubo, when he isn't in his bloodrage mode is usually a calm individual, he just typically "goes with the flow" and doesn't plan anything in the long-term future. He treats matters seriously when he needs to but otherwise, he's usually flippant or facetious in his own way, he also enjoys a good battle when he's allowed to and even better so when he can let loose without having to worry about killing his opponent or not. He usually has a tolerance for stupid or ridiculous things but too much of it can start to irritate him, making him to just want go into his bloodrage mode. He still gets the kick out of tormenting and killing opponents but over the years, the habit has started to die down on him a bit and usually gets bored with it, resulting in him just ending the battle quicker.

In his bloodrage mode however, it's a completely different story, when he goes into this bloodrage mode he doesn't like to turn it off and tends to stay in this mode for long periods of time. He grows an irrational need to just kill, and if he's in the wrong place and time, or the wrong scenario overall he is prone to even attacking fellow friends or teammates, he usually doesn't turn on this mode lightly unless he knows for sure he needs to use it. His calm attitude gets replaced with an overly exciteable/angry-like tone with Kotsubo making inappropriate remarks or comments when he's fighting an opponent.

While Tachi wasn't too fit or had that much weight, he started to get tired of all the walking after he left the village, he knew about the mission sure... it is meant to be a mission about scouting the landscape, but he just found it a bit too tedious, he knew he wouldn't get into major shinobi missions off the bat as a genin, but he wasn't expecting something like writing details about the land... on second thought, perhaps it was better to just walk for hours on end then trying to draw up details of the land, he wasn't exactly the best person with a pencil. Masuyo went to a sudden stop however and turned around to face Taichi, telling him that it's time to make camp soon and to bring out his sketching equipment, with him slightly sighing. It looks like he will have to write soon, it seems to be just like what his granddad said sometimes... be careful what you wish for, you might get it.

He had noticed Masuyo being extra careful with the old staircase which went up the mountain, passing through the wooden gate and any pebbles or rocks on the ground he saw, he didn't really care about, until Masuyo turned around to tell him about making as little impact as possible, so people wouldn't get the idea that people had traveled through this location, he quickly used his foot to push back some of the pebbles he slightly kicked off from walking. "Right... sorry." they continued to walk into the ruins, but stopped once again when she told Taichi to go up the tower at the peak, he kept his bag with him however, and raised his hand to his forehead to look at the tower properly, but looked back down to see Masuyo saluting him, realizing that his hand was in a position to salute back, he didn't meant to intentionally do that at first, but that works.

He started to go further into the ruins, walking up to another set of old stairs with cracks all over it, and even major pieces of the stairs just torn off, so he proceeded carefully so he didn't trip on anything, and tried his best to not leave anything disturbed. He reached to a higher point of the ruins where the walls were far more torn down and broken then the floor below, but thanks to that he could see the tower clear as day, and it wasn't that far to walk.

He managed to make it up to the tower relatively easy, with a bit of walking but he finally got to the entrance, it seemed odd that the tower was somehow still in a decent condition compared to the ruins earlier, but Taichi wasn't complaining. He walked inside the tower to see a set of circling stairways connected to the walls that led to the top, but the best part for Taichi was that the stairs weren't cracked that much, so it looked safe to walk up through. He made his way up to the top quick enough and was now at the top of the tower, there's a metal pole up at the absolute top of the tower however and Taichi started to climb up at the top walls to reach it, which didn't prove too difficult and he was now at the top with a strong grip on the pole, sitting in the middle to balance himself so he wouldn't slide back down or anything.

He's in a tight position, but he managed to reach out for his notepad in his bag with his spare arm and placed it on his lap, he then managed to grab a pencil deep down in his bag which was a bit of a pain, but he got to it. He could finally get to sketching, he adjusted himself properly on the side of the pole so he didn't have to grip as tightly and wrapped his left arm around the pole so he still locked himself in but his left hand, he's holding the notepad and a pencil in his right hand. He started to look at the different angles he could see from up top, especially on the side of where he could see the sun setting down, some people might consider it a good view with  the number of vegetations, trees and rocks down on the ground with a nice cleared path in the middle, but Taichi wasn't one for "views". He started to sketch down what he could however, as the side with the sun setting down has more details of the landscapes then the other sides, he started to think about how to sketch this. "Should I have the sun in the sketch? hmm... I'll add it just in-case." he started to draw the sun first since it was starting to touch down, then he would move onto the green of the land such as vegetation and trees since that was mostly on the left and right sides of the view, so then he could focus on the road and clearing in the middle.

He started to be careful with drawing his lines, as his grip on the pole felt a bit shaky which was shaking his left hand with the notepad, but he still continued on. Taichi felt like about 20-30 minutes had passed as he got most of the basic details down on sketch, but perhaps it was better he added more detail to it. "Hmm... well, it is a mission and it's best I treat it as such, can't have a drawing that could be done by a kid." he started to add more lines and scribbles to details of what he could see in his shot, such as the exact positioning and shape of larger rocks in his view, the patterns of the trees, the exact way the roads had been carved along with the dirt on the side, it was, in Taichi's opinion an exact replica of how he saw this side of the landscape put to paper, he could feel that nearly an hour had passed and it was best he started to head back down.

As he started to make his way back down from the top of the tower and back into the ruins, he looked at his sketch more carefully to notice a few lines and details might look a bit shaky, perhaps because of the slight shaking from when he had his grip on the pole, but the general idea of what the landscape looked like is all there. He remembered the way he went up to head back down to the ruins, finding the double doors that Masuyo went through, he went through himself to try and find Masuyo his pencil was back in his bag but he had the notepad wrapped around his right arm. "Sensei? I've done the sketch." he said, hoping that she'd hear him as he can't see her anywhere.
