    Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Hana Kaguya Sat Sep 01, 2018 2:24 am

Located at the heart of the Sovereign Palace is a large enough courtyard which acts as the current leader's and her staff's own personal training ground. Today the palace's courtyard was open as Tsubaki had notifications sent around the bazaar to invite active Kaguya Genin for a personal training session with the heiress herself. She wears a pair of deep blue sandals popular among many Shinobi which is coupled with a lavender haori kimono. The kimono is secured with a blue sash secured around her waist. Beneath the kimono Tsubaki wears a light mesh shirt to provide additional coverage. Tsubaki herself is of short height among her clan, standing only 5'6 and weight 140 lbs. Just like her kin she shares a very pale, soft skin. This is coupled with sapphire eyes and pearly white hair which extends all the way down to her lower back. Although having a somewhat fit figure her endowed chest and lower body balances her out.

The courtyard was cleared to host a number of Genin, as she expected at least twenty to show up. The lot was cleared except a small ring build with four dowel rods making a rectangle roughly five meters wide and three meters in length. It was a roughly confined ring designed to force the opponents into close quarters combat. The flyer stated that those who wished to participate were to gather inside the courtyard as it would start at noon giving those who wished to attend some approximation as when to show up. Refreshments were to be served with spectator benches for the parents and relatives who wanted to attend. A folding table had two pitchers of lemonade and fruit punch with cut finger sandwiches to give the spectators something to nibble on, and the participants a lunch to look forward to. After all it was common knowledge not to eat before a training session, as many Kaguya did train with hands-on examples. This meant being prepared to take blows and give them in return. This helped them hone their bodies for combat as well as helped them learn valuable material.

A mere half hour before there was nobody present yet. Tsubaki just finished organizing everything to ensure it was all set in place. While waiting for the others to arrive she would rehearse her own technique. Growing bone spikes from her palms, knees, shoulders, and elbows she would practice the Willow Dance in its most basic form, working on thrusts and sweeps. Most of all she focused on her footing perfecting finesse over power. She managed to get that much done, though, there was still a lot she had to learn herself before she could truly be considered a master and rightful ruler of the Kaguya Clan.

It appeared there was a training class going on for any and all Kaguya genin that wished to attend. Hosted by the Queen of the clan herself it would seem. Calin would be quite remiss if he missed such an opportunity. As he wasn’t exactly experienced in the clan techniques. It was due to this reason that we find him moving through the corridors of the clan compound when it was just a half hour to noon. His mother had elected to stay behind, still having not gotten over her grief due to the recent tragedy. The sapphire eyed genin would quickly squash that line of thought however. He could not allow himself to be caught up in rage, especially not when he would be training soon. Such actions often lead to accidents happening and injuries had. It wouldn’t do to injure his fellow clansmen. The young man was dressed in his usual cobalt coloured kimono with silver trim. His own mesh undershirt was worn as well, and his sandals were as silvery as the trim of his kimono. Calin stood at a height of 6’2, being just perfectly in the middle of average in terms of the height for his clan. His white hair hung down a bit, although not falling into his eyes whatsoever.

It a few minutes later that he stepped into the designated training ground to see tables of refreshments and lunch set up, and a short woman with white hair with a glossy shine, eyes as blue as his own. She was moving through her own personal preparations, seeming to make sure she was ready to lead on in the training class. For this woman was none other than his clan leader Tsubaki Kaguya. The seventeen year old genin would move to stand a safe distance away from the woman as she practiced. Obviously not intending to get in her way, or risking something being cut off. “Good morning my Queen.” He would say respectfully, bowing his head in respect that his own father had pushed into him from an early age. “Thank you for giving myself and any others who join the training session this opportunity.” He would say with a small smile in gratitude.  Formerly showing his gratitude, he had not after all expected to be getting trained by his fellow teenager today. She must have had a terribly busy schedule. So to take time to help instruct those weaker than her to help them become stronger was something to note in his eyes.

Tsubaki mused to herself as she worked to perfect her Taijutsu. She lost herself in a trance as the combat treatises were all she saw, mimicking the artwork with her body. The dance was more than growing bone fixtures around your body and stabbing your foe, though many people tended to see a lot of the Kaguya's fighting style that way. In reality there was a lot to consider such as the placement of your other limbs following a strike. Left palm forward, right elbow back, right leg open, left knee angled.... One's body would act like a clock, with each limb being its own gear. Striking one target means you strike two other, and can counter three more. It was a mentally stimulating fight style, one that Tsubaki focused every ounce of energy on. Of course during her display there was the presence of a newcomer. The sound of the door closing notified her that somebody was in the courtyard, though this was a minor distraction she flushed out. The sound of his feet crunching against the fresh green grass gave her every sign she needed to be aware this was not a passerby. Her first arrival was here.

She finished her last move as her protrusions were accepted back into her body. Tsubaki dressed the way she did for a reason. The short sleeves, exposed shoulders, knees, and palms ensured she didn't ruin clothing every time she needed to do Kaguya things. The temporary wounds would seal up automatically in response to the retreating spikes. Tsubaki would angle her body slightly turning her head over her shoulders as her long, silky white hair moved with her motion, the queen herself gazing at the boy with her own sapphire eyes. He stopped short, being a safe distance from the ring. It was clear he had common sense to not sneak up on a woman with needle-like bone spears protruding from her body.

The man was Calin, a clan member she was at least acquainted with. He was a Genin like herself and within the same age group. He greeted her in the most formal manner forcing the maiden to blush gently. She was not used to the title "Queen" yet. Having recently turned eighteen she was no longer a princess. With the title of an adult monarch she certainly felt older and powerful despite being quite young. "Please, Tsubaki is fine!" She followed with a coy grin flailing her hands. She preferred casual greetings when optional. The Kaguya had their own monarchy, though outside of her clan district, she was just Tsubaki: Genin of Kirigakure and secretary of the Mizukage. "A Queen does not pick weeds and organize papers. That title is only given to glorify my sovereignty over the clan. But thanks, anyways. And thank you for showing up. I figured as leader I should do everything I can to make sure the younger Kaguya have what they need to be powerful." Tsubaki would pace towards Calin folding both arms behind her lower back as she stopped briefly before him.

"Are you thirsty? Let's get something to sip on while the others arrive. We have some time to kill." There was plenty of time to douse. Though, the fact that Calin showed up signified it was getting closer to show time. Tsubaki would pour herself a glass of fruit punch and grab another glass for Calin. She would wait for his request out of the two choices, if he was thirsty, before filling his glass up with his preferred drink and offering it to him. Once he would take it she would bring her glass up to her lips in both hands taking a conservative sip. The sugar was useful for quick energy-- a short recovery after her warm up as well as serving as a thirst quencher.

Calin would give a small smile at his clan leaders blush. The shade colouring her cheeks blatantly noticeable against the paleness of her skin. Afterwards she would grin, simply telling him that simply calling her by her first name was fine with a flail of her hands. She’d proceed to explain herself, stating that a queen wouldn’t be one to pick weeds and do paperwork. She’d proceed to explain that the title only gives her sovereignty over their clan, and not over the village. A comment to which he would nod to, he knew that. Even without his political classes, although he did have something to say on a matter. As the woman began to pace toward him he would give a small shrug. “With all due respect Tsubaki. Clan, Village, or Kingdom. You’re the Queen over us. At least, in my opinion. It was one of the many things my father drilled into me when I was younger. Undying loyalty to our Queen. Who can do many things. Could you say a Queen, or a King for that matter, in the past hasn’t worked a garden out of the joy of it before? Or one did not do her own paperwork from time to time to make sure she had relevant information? The fact that you do such chores some might find ‘menial’ and then behave so modestly about them merely shows even more so that you are one worth the loyalty. Of course, I’ll still only call you Tsubaki, unless the situation demands otherwise. It would be rude of me to refuse the request of a lady.” He would say, his manners showing through clearly with a fellow pureblood clansman, and his leader no less.

At this point she would offer refreshments to which he would nod his head in acceptance. “Yes, I am quite thirsty.” The instructor of the day would grab two glasses and pour fruit punch into her own. “The same, if you don’t mind.” He would say, with a small, grateful inclination of his head as she handed him the glass. He would take his own sip of his glass, only using one hand himself, the other crossing his body and cupping his bent elbow as he thought of something. After taking the glass of punch away from his lips he would look toward the woman. “Out of curiosity, and I know you’ll have to repeat this soon so if you don’t wish to answer I wouldn’t begrudge you, but what are you planning to teach us this day Tsubaki?” He would ask, his blue eyes alight with curiosity.

Alkaid made her way to the court yard her hands clenched in determination. After recent events she knew that she had to get stronger. This invitation to spend time training with her cousin Tsubaki and seemed like just the ticket she needed to work towards that goal.   Not that she needed much of an excuse to see the person she adored the most in the entire world.

Besides she’d been spending so much time in the outside world that it would be nice to reconnect with her extended family members a bit.  The only one’s she’d been particularly close to before now had been Tsubaki and the twins.  With Yui gone and Yanagi in hiding she felt almost alone among her own clan.

She had come fresh off a mission to guard the gates, not bothering to change since she hadn’t had to do much but stand around for a few hours.   On her head was a a golden hairpin, and a dull red flowing scarf.  The black face mask she had been wearing earlier had been discarded since she’d torn a hole in it during her confrontation with the chunnin Yomi.

On her torso she wore a simple sleeveless kimono that ended in a low cut skirt, its color a shade of purple almost verging on blue, inspired by Yomi’s trade mark trench coat.  Holding it together was A gray obi with overlaid with her forehead protected in the center.  It severed as a belt with two pouches attached to it as well as holsters for her bone white swords.   Over her hands where a pair of purple pink finger-less gloves that ran past her elbows.

A flashy katana and wakizashi hung from her hips, drawing the eye to the black thigh high stockings underneath them, tucked into a pair of rain boots that matched the color of her kimono.  She was the very picture of a modest Kunoichi.

She wasn’t just here to train herself however but to also help Tsubaki train the others. After all she had just reached C-class so even thought she was the weaker of the two she figured her presence would still be of some assistance, even if she had to force them into swearing not to reveal the fact she had activated her bloodline to any outsiders.

Arriving just in time to hear a unfamiliar man declare how thirsty he was she scowled at him not liking the way he was looking at Tsubaki.  Oh he was thirsty all right, just not for the fruit punch the clan leader had been serving.   She knew that her clan preferred to keep it in the family as it where and that as the head of the clan that went double for Tsubaki who wanted her children to be as pure as possible.

The two of them hooking up would be seen as the most natural thing in the world to most of the clan. Alkaid was the deviant one for looking outside the district walls for a suitable mate.  And yet she found herself consumed by jealousy at the idea of someone taking Tsubaki away from her, especially because it was another family member.  She refused to allow anyone to have her cousin unless they could prove they where strong enough to protect her first.

Raising a hand she pointed her index finger at the cup the man was holding.  Waiting for him to raise it to his lips she smirked before striking. Without a sound she ejected the distal phalanx bone from the tip of her finger shooting it at high speed in an attempt to shatter the glass, which if sucessfully would spill the juice all over the man.

“Hey scrub. I don’t recall giving you permission to fraternize so closely with Onee-sama.” She growled as she took up a fighting stance, specifically the start of the dance of the willow as bones began to spurt from her shoulders, elbows, the palm of her hands and even her knees.   It made for a formidable sight, or it would have anyway if she hadn’t just ripped holes thought her stockings and gloves.

“What’s your name fly boy? If you’re here to learn I’ll give you a….hands on demonstration.” she said with a naughty smirk.

Calin's response undoubtedly made Tsubaki blush even harder. His response was almost poetic. Despite her flattery, though, he did also make a rather valid point. Generally she was fine with her real name being used in casual meeting with no honorifics or titles attached. Unfortunately some may consider that disrespect. Especially the adult members of the clan. In public and handling official business it was probably safer for Calin to stick with what he was taught: respect the clan's authority. She shook her wide to clear her mind as she fought the now reddening in her cheeks. She carried on the conversation as planned pouring herself and Calin a drink. It was certainly refreshing and worked to settle her nerves. Though, during her sip she caught the presence of Alkaid several feet behind the boy, arm risen and index finger pointed between them. Before she could move her mouth Alkaid fired. The bullet itself moved as alarming speeds, Tsubaki really only able to see an ivory streak in the air as it zipped past both of them. Her goal? The glass.

It shattered and juice was splashed, as one would expect when shooting a cup full of fruit punch. Alkaid expressed her immediate disdain towards Calin who was chivalrous as can be. In fact, Tsubaki was even unsure if Alkaid was playing at this point. The bullet might've been in good taste but she immediately began preparing her body for the Willow Dance, a deadly Taijutsu technique she just got finished demonstrating. "Put those away! You could poke someone's eye out!" Tsubaki demanded, placing both hands on her hips and furrowing her brows giving Alkaid 'the look.' She was serious, too, having used the technique first-hand herself. Something as simple as moving your elbows, hands, or knees could spike someone very easy. Especially considering how well-made these Kaguya bones were; the bone spikes pierced flesh like a hot nail through butter. Whatever Alkaid did, Tsubaki would move onto fixing Alkaid and Calin his new glass filling Alkaid's with fruit punch by default. She would set them both aside, reaching for her own cup and taking a deeper dram.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

“Ah, what a relaxing glass of fruit punch.” Or “Thank you so much, this was well made.” are two things the teenager might have said had the glass not suddenly obliterated into countless tiny shards by some kind of projectile before he got to take a friggin drink. Of course the projectile being fired was the first priority. So without a second thought Calin moved in front of Tsubaki using the direction the glass flew in as a reference point for the direction the projectile had originated from. When he did he would see a girl who would have to be another Kaguya. After all, why else would she be here? The girl would be walking over toward him disdainfully and telling him that she didn’t remember giving him permission to ‘Fraternize’ with the leader of their clan. The girl would proceed to drop into a taijutsu stance and bones would sprout out of his limbs in the exact places Tsubaki had them sprouting from her before. Before he could respond however she would continue to ask him his name and telling him that if he was here to learn then she could give him a ‘hands on demonstration’. This would cause the male to blush a bit, although quickly reacting regardless of the redness of his face. Of course at that point Tsubaki would tell her to put the bones away and that they were dangerous. To which of course they were.

Few things after all were as sharp as a Kaguya bone when it was in use. So to utilize techniques that used these bones on clan members without any real provocation outside of a spar was akin to ludicrous in Calin’s eyes. His eyes narrowed in response, he was soaking wet due to the fruit punch that had splashed all over him, which would only get uncomfortably sticky as the day went on. “My my, I would expect someone who refers to Tsubaki as ‘Onee-Sama’ to have better manners. To demand a name without giving your own, then saying you have some kind of right to tell anyone who they can and cannot “Fraternize” with, especially when one would be expected to speak with Lady Tsubaki here considering she’s the one teaching those of us here to learn. Then to actually have the gall to utilize such lethal weapons on a clan member for something as petty as jealousy. I hope you got enough use out of the gloves and stockings before you decided to rip holes through them for an attempt to intimidate someone who wasn’t doing anything wrong.” He would say in an even, and biting tone. To be honest, using such a tone with someone who actually could refer to the woman behind him as “Onee-Sama” was a risk. However it was one that he was willing to take considering the girl actually could seriously hurt someone with those bones. There were supposed to be other students here after all, god forbid if there actually were and she decided to do this It was at this point that Calin would move back to where he stood, causing the three to form a triangle of sorts. It would be rude to block the Queen from conversing with anyone if her life wasn’t in danger. .

Calming down slightly after his small rant and sighing deeply he would give a small shrug. “To answer your extremely rudely asked question, I am Calin, Calin Kaguya, if it wasn’t obvious.” He would say with a polite bow. Normally, he wouldn’t do something like that when someone had weapons out. However the girl was still family, even if she was unstable as hell. He doubted she would actually attack him if she was angry at him for scolding her. When he came back up he would look down at his drenched kimono, it was already starting to get sticky. Sighing softly he would shake his head and brush it off. It wasn’t like it was the end of the world. Besides if he saw those bone protrusions correctly then his favorite attire would soon not be a useable fashion statement. He didn’t really want to keep fixing holes where the knees come out of. This one would probably be ruined for the most part anyway, so he wouldn’t be concerned with any holes made this day. It was as this point that Tsubaki would pass them glasses of fruit punch. Where hopefully the teen, who unknowingly to him was still blushing mildly as the “Hands on demonstration” comment, could get a drink out of it before it fucking exploded. After taking his drink though he would decide he owed the woman he had scolded an apology. “Look, I’m sorry for before. I went a bit too far in what I said.” He would say, trying to put the matter behind them. If the girl would allow it. Taking another drink and turning back to Tsubaki, the less profficient Kaguya would ask a question. “If I may, before my glass brilliantly exploded, I was about to ask you what would be teaching today Miss Tsubaki.” He would ask politely, giving a small smile as he did.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Chika Wed Sep 05, 2018 1:41 am

“What the heck am I doing?” Alkaid thought to herself.  She’d meant to draw the line after shooting out the glass from the boys hands.  Sure soaking him with the jucie he’d been trying to drink wasn’t exactly nice but she could have wrote it off as light hazing and leave it at that.  It’d be kind of hard to cop to that even for her thought after she’d gone and assumed a full combat stance.   What the heck was she trying to do by attempting to intimidate him?   When had she become such a bully? Had her encounter with Yomi really rattled her that much?

“You don’t say.” She replied sarcastically to Tsubaki’s remarks about the protruding bones being able to put someone’s eye’s out. “Relax, jeez it’s not like I’m out to maim him or something. What kind of psycho do you think I am?” she asked with a sigh as she reluctantly retracted the bones back into her body.

“It’s just…I saw him making googly eyes at you and couldn’t resist testing him.” She explained sullenly as she gave the Calin another sidelong glance.  She’d have to give him high marks for the way he’d prioritized protecting Tsubaki when he’d come under attack.  That at least was respectable.   The look on his face when she’d made a suggestive remark on the other hand was a bit less so.  Like most men, he would be so easy for her to toy with.

The next thing she knew the boy began to talk. Alkaid almost wanted to get a q-tip out to make sure she was actually hearing him correctly. Was he actually lecturing her.  Placing a hand over her mouth she pretended to yawn as if unimpressed but secretly she was smirking.   Well at least the boy had some bark in him.

If he didn’t have at least a little backbone he wouldn’t have been worth the time of day teaching him how to pull it out and put it to use,  let alone entertaining the thought of letting him court Tsubaki. Like she could leave the person so precious to her to some spineless simpering wimp.

“I think you might have me confused for someone else if you’re expecting perfect manners Calin.  Those where never my strong suit.” she admitted readily. She could mind them when she needed to like on formal occasions but otherwise she didn’t bother much.  The fact she’d been spending time around someone as crass as Toonami hadn’t been helping in that department much either.

“Speaking to Onee-sama is one thing, I’ll grant you that much. Sitting right next to her is another.   Besides you’ve got a lot of nerve, letting the head of the clan wait hand and foot on you like that when you haven’t even started going out yet.” she rebutted right back at him.

“Damn straight I’d use something like that.  Any ninja worth their salt should have enough precision to only hit the target they are aiming for.  Having collateral damage is just plain sloppy.”  she said criticizing the that needed massive area of effect attacks to get the job done, criticizing herself for needing to go full hedgehog mode to catch the reapers scythe during the battle outside of town.  Having to go all out instead of using only the minimal amount necessary her rankled her sensibility.

“Heh, don’t worry about these.” She said referring to her now ruined gloves and stockings as she stopped to strip them off before carelessly tossing them aside. “Their a dime a dozen.  Nothing but a cheap way for me to blend in.  There’s a reason I don’t dress like a typical Kaguya. That way to the outside, I’m just another girl who hasn’t unlocked my bloodline limit.” she explained off offhandedly.

“In any case you’ll have to excuse the belated introduction.  Alkaid, The Unbending blade at your service.”
She said giving Calin a dramatic bow along with one of her titles. “If Tsubaki’s the queen then you can think of me as a princess.” she said which wasn’t far off given how closely they where related.

“Save your apologizes.  The only thing I want from you Calin is for you to show me you have what it takes to be a man worthy of Onee-sama’s attention.” with that declination Alkaid made her way over towards the cup Tsubaki had set aside for her, acting as if she was going to pick it up only to pause as she reached Calin’s side.

“If you do well enough, maybe I’ll arrange it so Onee-sama helps you get cleaned up……” she whispered with a sultry tone just loud enough for him to hear but so Tsubaki wouldn’t.  At first glance it would have seemed like she had gotten him sticky and drenched out of spite but now she was revealing to him that her actions may have had a deeper goal in mind from the very beginning.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Hana Kaguya Fri Sep 07, 2018 4:58 am

Tsubaki's hands never left her keeps, sustaining the sassy pose and furrowed eyebrows as Calin began to speak notably nodding when Calin spoke out about Alkaid's unladylike behaviors. "A lady must always give her name first before asking a gentleman's." She chimed in following a brief pause in the man's dialogue, eyes closed. This girl is helpless... She thought to herself recalling all other incidents Alkaid dressed inappropriately. To be commonly associated with herself she figured some of her good manners and tastes would have rubbed off on her cousin, but it appeared the only thing Alkaid managed to share with Tsubaki was her voluptuousness. Still, Tsubaki felt there was hope in Alkaid. There had to have been, to be so closely related to herself. Alkaid had the same apex genetics. Though, that did not mean she was all there. Tsubaki felt Yanagi was fine until she snapped. A big part of her did not feel Alkaid was the same, but she was not completely ruled out either. She had to stay vigilant.

Unfortunately Alkaid was plastering the situation. Tsubaki wanted to remain professional and wished to treat Calin as one during this training session, though her cousin was quick to make this a hook up. "Haven't started going out yet? That's impossible! What kind of lady do you think I am?" She exclaimed turning flustered again. The thought hadn't crossed her mind. Sure Calin was handsome and was that of a respectable, pure Kaguya. However the thought of dating seemed tedious. Perhaps a year ago when things were simple, but now that she ran the clan directly and worked in Kirigakure Administration she had little free time for herself. Though I guess we don't have to date to get straight down to...No! She thought trying to convince herself, but her morals were simply too tight. Her mother taught her well enough about the dangers of impulsive actions. On top of that her status in the clan would put her disgraced if she ended up being a single mother. There were too many negative consequences that put thought away.

Finally Tsubaki had enough following Alkaid's statement as she reeled in to whisper into the boy's ear. Tsubaki would bat at the girl's wrist with a femur-like baton with just speed no putting any strength behind it to act like a punishing slap over an attack to actually cause harm. "Oh hush! Don't be filling the boy with hopeful thoughts! After all we ARE here to train and not to hook up." Tsubaki said sternly, folding her arms with the baton tucked under her armpit. Just as she finished the great doors would open again as arrivals did make their way into the courtyard. Tsubaki glanced at the group before turning back to the two, Calin the outcast with red fruity juice soaked in his clothes and skin. "And now you look like a clown!" She said feather-slapping the boy from his shirt up to his nose with her long sleeve. Unfortunately Calin did not have time to change clothes. "Alkaid, come with me to the ring. We are going to demonstrate Dance of the Blossom first. What and learn, Cali-kun." She said rather haughty before turning away and heading towards the combat ring. Certainly Alkaid was a prime practice. Ultiamtely considering they were the prime Kaguya matrons of the clan. In a sense Alkaid was a princess. As just like Tsubaki she possessed formidable power.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Peragus Fri Sep 07, 2018 8:35 pm

Well this certainly turned into an interesting day for Calin that was for sure. He had come to learn Kaguya Clan techs, and got a whole lot more than he bargained for. The young man would ignore the comment about perfect manners. He didn’t need to reply to such a thing, the next thing that came out of Alkaid’s mouth however would cause a faint blush to appear on his cheeks. His response would occur at the exact same time as Tsubaki’s, their voices overlaying on one another. “Haven’t started going out yet? That’s impossible! What kind of guy do you think I am?” he would say, causing him to blink at her momentarily before smiling sheepishly. The girl was absolutely beautiful, and obviously, as clan head, was a pureblood Kaguya. His mind would be running a million miles a minute at that point and he’d miss the next couple of things Alkaid said. He tuned in again just as she was introducing herself, causing the male to nod in understanding. Then she would say the only thing she wanted from him was to be a man worthy of Tsubaki’s attention. This confused the teenager, the clan was where her attention was to be placed on wasn’t it? Didn’t that include everyone in it? At this point the girl would come over, as if going for her drink before whispering something into his ear. The young man’s blush would be the strongest one he’d ever given off. He’d honestly never given much thoughts to such things with his schooling going on but now? There wasn’t much left to keep his mind occupied.

Now thanks to Alkaid such thoughts did permeate his mind, and they were thoughts on Tsubaki. His blush merely intensified for a few moments before Tsubaki’s voice cut in, taking his mind off what it was currently considering. Thanking the heavens that the situation didn’t get more awkward. He took another drink of his punch to calm his nerves, nearly draining it. It was at this point that he would force his mind to work properly and he’d set the glass down on the table as the doors opened and his fellow trainee’s came in. Tsubaki would feather slap him, saying he looked like a clown to which the young man would respond “Should I get my red nose and wig then?” with a wry smirk. More than a few of the trainee’s looked at his clothing disapprovingly. The were judging him with their eyes, sneering at him at times in condemnation for daring to wear such garb in front of the queen. Calin however would look them dead in the eye, and shrug before moving to stand with the group, a few of them making an obvious effort to avoid him. He’d be ready to watch when they began demonstrating techniques, although Dance of the Blossom was one he knew quite well. It was always good to review basics.

A light dusting of a blush would colour his cheeks as she referred to him as Cali-kun. Causing more of the Kaguya around him to glare minutely at the sapphire eyed male but he’d power through it. He wouldn’t disrespect her with a nickname though. It was fine for her to do it with him if she chose. She was after all the queen, but they were surrounded by other Kaguya now, so he had to be respectful. “As you wish my Queen.” He’d say with a small bow and a smile, the blush never actually leaving his cheeks.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Chika Sat Sep 08, 2018 1:37 am

Alkaid had to resist rolling her eyes as Tsbuaki told her how a lady should act.  As if she didn’t know that already but there was a time and place for that sort of Etiquette bullshit.  Generally she only bothered to follow proper decorum during formal events, the kind when being on your best behavior actually mattered.

Right now thought it was just the three of them in a private court yard.  It was one of the few times when she could actually drop her mask of acting and be herself for a bit instead of pretending to be something else, or it would be if she hadn’t seen an opertunity to inact one of her master plans and gone for it.  Besides if she tried to act all prim and proper now it might ruin the intended effect of what she was going for, namely trying to set Tsubaki and Calin up together.

The best acts where the ones that had a ring of truth to them. That Jealously she had displayed earlier had all been real,  but she’d been able to reign it in using a stronger emotion to override it.  Namely her undying devotion to her cousin and trying to do what was best for her.

She’d spent enough time around Tsubaki to know just how lonely her cousin was, and she knew her cousin had been looking for a good husband but been having difficulty finding the time to search for one even before she’d t officially taken over running the clan and doing administrative work for the village.

She also knew that Tsubaki was a lot more traditional.  Her cousin was more open minded then the now deceased elders ever had been but she still wanted to keep the core of the clan at least pure blooded which meant marrying within the family.   Alkaid simply knew a good oppertunity when she saw one.  Calin’s attraction to Tsubaki had been obvious from first glance and he was the spitting image of an apex Kaguya male.

Yes, this was all to help Tsubaki she told herself. At least messing with Calin was fun enough to take away some of the sting from the jealousy.  As the two burst nearly identical lines about the fact how impossble going out was and what sort of woman/man she thought they where Alkaid couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

“See you’re already in sync.  Admit it you’re perfect for each other.”  she pointed out trying to get them to see what was already so obvious to her.  From the look on Tsubaki’s face she could practically invision the fact that her train of thought had already jumped from zero to sixty and quickly moved to correct that idea before it derailed.

“Besides nobody’s saying that you should just hop into bed together. All I’m asking is that you go have a date together say at a nice restaurant or something, see how things develop.  You’ll never know if  your compatible if you don’t at least try.”  she said trying to sound wise.

“To answer your earlier question Onee-sama I think you’re a wonderful lady, a shining example of the best our clan can be.  But as the leader of our clan don’t you think it’s about time you took the idea of marriage a bit more seriously?  If something where to happen to you now we’d be without a heir and then who will take over running the clan? Me?”  Alkaid laughed derisive at that idea.

She was better off being Tsubaki’s right hand and they both knew it. She was the shadow to Tsubaki’s light, the moon to her sun.  That’s the way things had always been and the way they should always be.

“And all jokes of worthiness asides, you Calin are steadfast and forthright. A fine and upstanding gentleman if I ever saw one. As far as Kaguya men go, he’s the cream of the crop.” as she verbally appraised him she shot him a glare as if to say not to let the praise get to his head too much.

“If not him, then with whom?  I can count the good one’s with less the the fingers of one hand. Who’s even left other then that dweeb Magnus?” she asked as she went in to finally get that drink and whisper in Calin’s ear only to get her wrist batted by Tsubaki who apparently had better hearing then she thought.

Alkaid stuck out her tongue bashfully, having sensed that maybe she’d gone just a step too far in her teasing.  She wanted to push they two of them together, not pull them apart by being too forceful about it.   “Why not both?” she asked feeling genuinely confused that the two where apparently mutually exclusive in her cousins eyes.

“Sorry about the juice.” She said to Calin apologetically after Tsubaki made the clown comment she was starting to feel bad about the whole thing.  Instead of enacting an elaborate act and putting on a show she should have just suggested that the two of them go on a date from the get go.

“I’m pretty sure Calin already knows that one, but we might as well start with the basics for the new arrivals.”  agreed Alkaid with a shrug as she followed Tsubaki into the ring and began to take the steps that she knew so well, making sure not to go full speed right away so that everyone would be able to follow her movements clearly.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Hana Kaguya Sun Sep 09, 2018 1:54 am

Tsubaki couldn't help but scoff following the two's mimicked reply and Alkaid's response. She felt like Alkaid was digging too deep into it. Fact is Tsubaki practically gave up on looking for a spouse. If the offer presented itself a year or two ago she would have pounced on the offer in a heartbeat. She would have even left Alkaid to train the Genin to slip out and go on a date in an instant. But that gung-ho zeal was expired. Working directly as clan head, Administration, and dealing with the drama and terror threats brought on by Yanagi had put relationships behind her. Having the opportunity present itself now was almost a mockery. After Tsubaki had matured a bit and given up on the dream of having a husband. Yet here they were, a man perhaps worth his grit. He was cute and built, sure, but was he a warrior? Did he have the strength and courage to make a suitable spouse? Those were the traits she desired now over a charismatic smile and a pretty face. She wanted to ensure her partner was no weak beta male or she would forsaken her ancestors. Tsubaki had a way to test that. Calin would perform in this display of power. That is, after he had the opportunity to learn.

Alkaid was an experienced fighter like herself which made her apt to work in this demonstration with her. "Remember: we're just displaying the martial art. Think of it like a ceremonial display." She spoke in a hushed tone to Alkaid as they approached the ring. During displays the actors would typically pull their punches and not go entirely aggressive. The strength was unnecessary and resulted in slower, sloppier strikes. In most cases the actors had to slow down their movements as well so the spectators could actually see what was going on. If Tsubaki went full force she was afraid the Genin would get lost and not learn anything from the display. Just follow my lead... She thought to herself hoping Alkaid knew what she was thinking.

Spaced apart a mere five feet Tsubaki would fix herself in her stance, her legs apart to her shoulder's width and both hands open, one extended further than the other, at breast-level. The dance was versatile with numerous different stances depending on the activity planned or even the weapon held. In Tsubaki's case she wanted to work with the most flexibility not planning to utilize any bones. "Three! Two! One!" Tsubaki chanted once Alkaid was in her stance before pursuing her cousin. A step forward and Tsubaki executed a single strike from her left, following arm. It was aimed towards the girl's jaw attempting to strike her with enough force to cause a dazzling blow. She expected her cousin to evade in which she preemptively followed through with rotating on her foot and sending her heel into the girl's side. Her movements were precise and controlled staying within the small arena. She wanted to feel how well Alkaid responded. Depending how well she reacted to her attacks would determine who Calin would fight. Don't get too comfortable watching, Calin.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Peragus Sun Sep 09, 2018 9:34 am

Calin would watch the beginnings of the exchange critically, not looking for flaws, as he himself couldn’t have better form than the women teaching them. No, he would be committing everything to memory. Watching every step, every attack, every counter, dodge, and set up. His eyes would be fixed on their forms, mentally ironing out his own personal flaws. He wouldn’t be able to truly iron them out until he had a chance to test them later. However he fully intended to do much more than that. He’d seen both Tsubaki and Alkaid use techniques that he didn’t know yet. Watched the full creation of one, and the aftermath of another. He would utilize what he saw, and recreate everything he had seen. His father had made the decision to send him to political lessons immediately after the shinobi academy, preventing him from truly coming into his own in regards to their clan’s arts. However his political lessons were over, and now he could devote his time to learning everything he could in the art that was the Kaguya’s version of warfare. He hadn’t even been able to instill the proper reflex reaction to everything yet. After all, when it came to fighting styles it wasn’t a point of learning a vast multitude of techniques. It was practicing those techniques so frequently, and so harshly that one’s body natural did them on an instinctual level the moment each relevant situation presented itself. One was supposed to be able to not think about what they were doing. For often times, taking the time to do such would cause a blow to land, and in most martial combat, the first one to land a decisive blow was the winner.

The pure blooded Kaguya knew he had a long road before him in order to match the two women in front of him. He could tell enough by Tsubaki at least that the woman was holding back. Yet she was still moving faster than he could move, everything about her flowed so effortlessly that he couldn’t help but make her the center of his focus. Another one of the arrivals stared at him, a sneer evident on the teen’s face. Calin paid it no mind as he watched, he wasn’t concerned with the petty issues that people who weren’t here to learn had. He began to wonder how difficult it would be to utilize the dance Tsubaki had been practicing when he arrived. It had been graceful, and covered the blind spots in close range combat beautifully. He had an exceedingly strong desire to practice it. Of course now would not be the proper place to do so, he was after all, surrounded by people wanting to learn after all. The bones he might sprout could puncture anyone and cause serious harm. He didn’t want to take a copy out of Alkaid’s book in that regard now did he?

A small nudge on his shoulder would prompt him to tear his gaze away from the form of the Clan head’s demonstration with the ‘Princess’. He’d turn to lock eyes with the man that had been sneering at him earlier. It was then that Calin would note that most of the arrivals had been in the early teens if not outright preteens. He himself was the oldest of the ones there to learn and the man that had been sneering at him was speaking now, lowly, to attempt to keep his voice from being overheard, although Calin himself had no way of knowing if it was working. The only two who might care were currently sparring for their benefit after all, and sparring in safe locations often allowed one to devote all of their senses to the fight. The man’s voice was low and full of contempt as he spoke. “What exactly are you doing here? Surely you’re just now learning these forms? Most of these kids are just out of the academy, yet you look like you could be a chunin, if not a jonin. Surely, you’re not that weak?” The man would say, his features turning into a kind of half snarl that Calin barely noticed. What was he going to do? Attack him here? He’d give the man an answer to his question of course, it would be rude and cause problems later if he didn’t. Something that he did not want. “My father shoved me into tutoring for politics and the like right after the Academy. He reasoned that if I started that schooling early on then I would be forced to enter the Academy at a later age then was preferred, potentially painting the clan in a bad light. I agreed wholeheartedly. I recently finished my lessons. At least I can learn our clan arts within the privacy of our walls, bringing my beloved family no shame.” He would say, his voice just as low, hoping it would satiate the man’s curiosity.

The golden eyed male would simply smirk before speaking “What makes you think he didn’t hope you would become a politician? What if he thinks you’re simply too weak to truly benefit your clan? I for one don’t like seeing you here, and I think you should leave so that you don’t paint a bad example for my little brother and the rest of the actual students” The man would say again, just as low as before. Calin would raise an eyebrow before asking a question “What’s your clansmen?” He would ask to which he would get a prompt response “Tatsuya” He would say simply, shrugging. Calin would continue on “Well Tatsuya, I don’t believe my father felt that way. I also don’t think it matters since he’s dead. You see, he was murdered by one of our own mere days after my lessons ended. Someone I intend to hunt down and kill no matter how hard I have to work to do so.. I also, don’t care if you like seeing me here or not. You said you were only bringing your brother. You don’t need to be here at all then, go along, I’m sure some of your fellow clansmen can make sure he gets home safe.” He would respond with an open frankness, then pausing to contemplate something for a moment as Tatsuya’s expression became one of minor surprise. “Also, we’re all students, for we’re always learning.” He would say with a casual shrug as he shooed the man off “Now do me a favor and leave, I can’t learn anything if you continue to distract me.” He would say simply, taking his eyes away from the man next to him and fixing his gaze back upon the two women that were taking personal time to teach them.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Chika Sun Sep 09, 2018 8:30 pm

Tsubaki scoffed blowing off her speech without even saying a word in reply.   There where times when it was almost as if she could read her cousins mind but this wasn’t one of them. If she had know what Tsubaki had been thinking she would have told her how silly she was being. She was only 18 for Kami’s sake, it was way too soon to be giving up on the idea of marriage.

“Don’t think you can keep blowing me off about this forever.” She said before setting aside the topic for later.  Right now they had a show to put on and she was nothing if not a consummate professional when it came to such things.  She didn’t have to be reminded of such silly things like that this was only a ceremonial display and not the time to go all out.

When it came to combat she was in perfect sync with her cousin.  Once the countdown commenced she allowed Tsubaki to come at her.  At the last second she leaned back just enough for the fist aimed at her jaw to pass thought thin air, it was almost as if she had Tsubaki would be aiming their from the start.   Of course the only reason she could read her moves so well was specifically because it was Tsubaki and the fact they had trained together for so long.

She knew the follow up blow was coming. The easiest way to deal with it if this had been a street battle would have been to switch up her style.  All she had to do was change to the Kirigakure Basic Self Defense Skills or K.B.S.D.S. for short and it would be child’s play to block.   Then switch again over to something like the Arhat fist or the Brute Fist while the enemy was still off balance from the first strike and hit them hard.

The only problem was that would defeat the entire point of showing her kinsmen how to use the clan’s most basic but essential fighting style.  Using Dance of the blossom and only dance of the blossom Alkaid lifted the leg on the side Tsubaki had been aiming for and used it to gracefully intercept her cousins foot before the heel could dig into her ribs.

Thankfully Tsubaki was pulling her punches otherwise Alkaid would have a very difficult time keeping up with her.  She knew that when it came to lifting strength she was physically stronger then her cousin but when it came to speed and dexterity Tsubaki had her beat hands down. They where generally even otherwise, but that gap was frustrating.  No matter how hard she worked, she never could quite seem to close it.

From her stance with one leg still up in the air Alkaid leaned forward attempting to jab Tsubaki in the chest with the fingers of her right hand knowing from the start with absolute certainty that this move would be countered.  As the two sparred everything about the background world melted away, even the noise of Tatsuya and Calin bickering.   All that remained was the stage, and the two waltzing upon it as if in the middle of some kind of play.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Hana Kaguya Tue Sep 11, 2018 4:12 am

Tsubaki had focused herself on her demonstration with Alkaid. Although they agreed to pull their punches for display purposes they both had to at least time to make it a convincing display. Tsubaki couldn't afford to be careless with Alkaid as she very much had the potential to land a hit on her. The last thing she needed was try to be a hostess while being winded. Alkaid was quick enough to evade the first strike with little effort, Tsubaki's follow up being stopped in its tracks as her cousin checked her kick with her own leg. Alkaid was quick to follow up with a straight jab. One may question her approach on the attack using her finger over knuckles or even a palm strike, though any seasoned martial artist knew the effectiveness of a finger jab. The concentrated force delivering was debilitating striking the nerves sharper than a concussive strike.

Tsubaki was quick to evade this one entirely by stepping to the side using her total speed, many of the spectators losing track of her movement while some catching her move in a distorted blur. She was back to her starting position apart from Alkaid has she held the Seal of Confrontation as a sign to end the skirmish between the two. It was shorter of a display than she had initially planned, but the audience applauded nonetheless. She would bow towards the crowd before raising her hand as the crowd settled before she spoke. "Today we will be demonstrating combat basics using our clan's technique. We will develop and grow on what you know. But first, a volunteer...You there!" She barked pointing her finger at Calin from the crowd. "Step forward into the ring and demonstrate your strength!" The crowd would yield varying reactions, from cooing to scoffs. Tsubaki would pass Alkaid stopping briefly before whispering into her ear. "Don't hold back. I want to test him." She said before giggling mischievously.

Alkaid certainly spoke highly of Calin and the boy seemed to carry himself well. If she were to take his approaches seriously he had to be a warrior, and not just a charismatic smile. She did not want a Prince Charming. She wanted a Knight, and a dedicated man to her and the clan. If he was unwilling to present himself in front of the clan to spar with second best female fighter within the clan that would seal her impressions on him. She had a strong feeling Alkaid was going to drop him. She was strong and could throw a nasty punch. Even Tsubaki herself could only take a few of them before being fatigued. She would step back out of the ring allowing Calin to enter and assuming the same starting position she had in the beginning. Once situation she would count down acting as proctor of this sparring match. "On my call! Three! Two! One..."

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Peragus Wed Sep 12, 2018 8:52 am

Calin would be watching the fight, admittedly missing everything after Tsubaki’s heel kick toward Alkaid. He wasn’t too worried about this however, as he did already know this particular technique. Once the girls had separated everyone would give a light applause, Calin himself joining in. A small smile on his face after the display had ended. He’d only caught the first attempted jab, and the heel kick. However he wasn’t about the be rude. Clearly the rest of the students saw quite a bit that deserved applause, so he would join in as well. The long haired Kaguya ruler would bow politely, then raise her hand, prompting them all to stop before speaking. At this point she would decide on a volunteer, before pointing at Calin himself. Mild shock hit him at being chosen. He had told her he wasn’t combat trained yet right? She did actually know that piece of information? It was why he was here after all. Why not pick someone who had the training? Like that ass Tatsuya? He wouldn’t have minded watching him get beaten down. Of course, it would not do to deny his queen. She had to have known he hadn’t had actual training, at least, he hoped so.

As such, he would step into the arena, stopping before turning to Alkaid and smiling softly. “I must be honest here. I have yet to be trained in combat minus what was required for the Academy. My father removed me from active duty in order to give me a more complete education via tutoring. It’s why I’m here, I graduated my extra classes and now strongly desire to increase my own martial prowess. With that in mind however, I would like to request that you do not hold back Alkaid-Hime. I won’t get better if I’m held back on.” He would say with honesty. He had taken her earlier comment about her basically being the princess of the clan seriously. As such, he meant the title in complete and utter respect. He would proceed to sketch a polite bow, before dropping into his stance. It was the exact same as Tsubaki’s, feet shoulder width apart, a slight bend to the knee’s, and his hands, palm open, outstretched. His lead hand being the lead with the two at chest level. It was at this point that Tsubaki would begin her countdown and Calin himself would wait patiently. He had in fact seen the very start of their own spar. So he did see Alkaid dodge Tsubaki’s straight jab. The girl was faster than him, she’d be able to maneuver easier too. He’d have to play it smart if he wanted to do even halfway decently.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Chika Wed Sep 12, 2018 10:46 pm

As Alkaid had expected her cousin had no trouble avoiding the knife hand jab that had been aimed at her chest. Honestly Alkaid would have been worried if she hadn’t since she knew first hand how being hit the boobs could hurt. Not that she’d aimed their to be pervish or anything it just happened to be an effective spot to hit, especially since their size made them an easier target.

She was ready and willing to go another round and felt slightly disappointed when Tsubaki called an early end to their sparring session just when things had started to get heated up. To make things worse she could have sworn someone had been jibber jabbering during the demonstration but she hadn’t been able to pay that enough attention to figure out who it was. She’d had to focus solely on her cousin if she wanted to avoid being clocked in the face after all.

"How dare they not pay attention. Don’t they know a good show when it bites them?” she wondered as Tsubaki called Calin up to the stage and told her not to hold back with the young man. Jeeze talk about brutal, was she trying to put the poor boy in the hospital or was this some trial by fire thing so that he could prove himself?

Calin quickly admitted that he hadn’t done much combat training but she had to admire the fact that instead of using that as an excuse he’d simply asked her not to hold back as well. Alkaid’s face flushed briefly at being called a princess but she quickly laughed to cover it up.

“Oh come off it, I’m not that special.” she said humbly to try and hide her embarrassment. She was used to people treating Tsubaki like royalty but that almost never happened to her expect for times she was mistaken for her cousin by people that didn’t know better. It was a refreshing change of pace.

“Please…. be gentle with me.” she said in a teasing sultry voice knowing how ironic she was being. If he was academy graduate level then she had him largely outclassed, thought not to the point it would be entirely one sided if she got careless. Her primary role was espionage but as she’d just shown she was no slouch when it came to fighting.

As the countdown commenced she slipped back into the starting stance for the dance of the blossom. It was time to see just how much Calin had been paying attention. The second the word go left her cousins mouth Alkaid was off like a flash. Her left arm snaking out towards the side of Calin’s draw. It was an exact mirror of how Tsubaki had attacked her during the last match which was the only handicap she’d give him since she wasn’t holding back at all just as requested.

Expecting that he’d be able to do something about the opening strike she was already premptively following up with the second move Tsubaki had done. Rotating on her left foot she spun around sending her right heel towards Calin’s side hoping to catch him while he was still busy reacting to the first assault.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Peragus Thu Sep 13, 2018 7:47 pm

“Please….be gentle with me.” The girl before him would say in a sultry tone. It would take every effort on Calin’s part to fight down the blush he had felt rising to his cheeks. Yet he would still fail a bit, feeling the now familiar heating of his cheeks as he felt himself blushing mildly. At this point however the countdown would commence. Which meant it was time to focus on the fight. His eyes would be taking in Alkaid’s stance carefully, it was the same as his, obviously. He knew she would have to be stronger, faster, and all around better at this in every conceivable notion. He would have to try to fight smart if he was going to even have a chance. However it was when Alkaid began to move that Calin felt something familiar from it. Her left arm darting out to attack him in the same way Tsubaki had started attacking her. He’d dodge it in similar fashion, granted he’d barely be able to do so, although it would feel as if their speed wasn’t too much different thankfully. It shouldn’t make too much of a difference in such close range. As the fist sailed back his face, barely missing his jaw he’d see her begin to utilize the momentum of the blow to swing herself into the same spinning kick that Tsubaki had done.

He didn’t have much time, but for a brief few moments the girls eyes wouldn’t be able to see him, as her entire body would have to turn in order to land the blow on his side. He’d move closer to her, as quickly as he could manage, launching a mild palm thrust that was intended to smack the back of her head as it spun around. It wouldn’t hit very hard, attacking such a place with any form of real strength could kill or cripple someone very easily. Something that was very much overdone in a simple spar. But should the hit make contact the girl would have to have known that it could’ve been lethal. As he moved to smack the back of her head he’d reach down with his other arm, and grab the supporting leg, and go to flip her. Should this succeed it would leave two options for his opponent. Either continue the momentum of the kick and attempt to strike him as she was airborne. Or give up the offense and utilize her kicking leg to land safely. Of course, he’d be prepared to try to move toward either scenario. Of course, even if neither of the two strikes succeeded, merely moving closer to her would result in the power of her kick being shot, as she wouldn’t be able to properly land the blow with him so close anymore.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Chika Fri Sep 14, 2018 12:17 am

Throwing such a remark at Calin had been a bit underhanded of her but it was also a good way to test his resolve.  If that was enough to throw him off his game then he would be easy prey and go down long before he could prove his strength all the better for keeping Tsubaki out of the hands of the unworthy.

She smirked as he barely managed to dodge her first attack.  It hadn’t been as smoothly as she’d done it before, but she gave him points for being able to manage at all considering she wasn’t holding back an inch.

As he moved in to attack her while she couldn’t see him the grin remained on her face.  If he thought it was going to be that easy to slip in and deal some damage to her he’d have another thing coming.  Actavating the dead bone plus she grew a dense layer of bone underneath her skin.

As his palm thurst connected with the back of her skull it would be like hitting a solid brick wall. He’d likely do more damage to himself then he would her due to the sheer difference between his strength and her constitution.  This was the true power of the Kaguya the ability to tank almost any physical assault and brush it off like it was Tuesday.

“heh heh, that tickled.” she remarked with a giggle. He’d moved on to trying to grab her leg in an attempt to flip her over only to find that she was now too heavy for him to budge.  Normally she was only 142 lbs but with all the extra bones she had under skin at the moment her weight was almost double that rendering her immobile.

Dissolving the extra protection as fast as she’d formed it she kicked with her leg as hard as she could to force Calin to let go, even going as far as shooting tiny bone spikes from the place’s he’d grabbed to force the issue.

Jumping a step back from him to create distance she grinned fiercely. “Well Calin good to see you where paying attention, unlike a certain somebody who was too busy throwing shade to watch.” she said not naming names because she couldn’t pinpoint the culprit if she tried.

“Good job on tagging me. I guess it’s time to take things up to the next level.”   with those words she grasped the scarf around her neck and tossed it aside revealing the naked nape of the back of her neck just as a large bone began to pop out of it.  Reaching a hand back she grabbed the bone like a handle and began to pull hard yanking out her entire spine with a sick squelching sound.

“Dance of the Clematis: Vine” she declared as she slapped her former spine on the ground intimidatingly cracking it like a whip.  Rather then attacking however she held it before her defensively with one hand while gesturing Calin towards her with the other, beckoning him to attack.

“Give me all you’ve got.”  she advised.  In a way he’d forced her to use a technique far more advanced then she’d been expecting to for this match, so now she was taking it much more seriously then she had at the beginning.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Peragus Fri Sep 14, 2018 4:46 am

‘Well that didn’t go as planned.’ He would think to himself after striking what was effectively a solid wall of bone when hitting the back of her head. The impact had cracked the bones in his own hand, but fixing that was a simplicity in itself for a bloodline that created the things. So he would be fine to continue without issue. His attempt to flip her went badly too, as she was now too heavy to lift with just his strength. He’d remove his hand as quickly as he put them on her, trying to not give her the chance to counter. Which he’d thankfully done well to do so as she would spawn bones out of her legs, which would have forced him to let go anyway. As he made some distance she would do the same, a grin on her face as she spoke. He’d smirk softly after she spoke on the shade remark. Should he tell it was him bickering with Tatsuya later? He might, the reactions might be amusing. At her next words however his grin would drop. She’d remove her scarf and his eyes would narrow. It was at this point that she would rip her spine out The attack name ringing through the training ground as she called it out. His eyes would widen softly at that.

“I thought we were just using Blossom..” He would say, more to himself than anyone else, but he’d quickly shake it off. The spar was still ongoing and unless he figured something out quickly then he would be woefully outmatched by that whip. She had already utilized techniques besides Blossom anyway. There was no way the girl was that heavy, and his impact hurt him more than anything. He’d have to figure that out later, but for now he had to find an answer to this or he’d be toast. The slap of the spine on the ground and her beckoning to him would prompt him to find a response quickly. “Give you all I got you say? First you say to be gentle, and now you want it all. My word Miss Alkaid you’re enjoying yourself aren’t you? Well, far be it from me to refuse a request from a lady.” He would say, bluffing more than anything at that moment. The smirk on his face as he said would hopefully cover that up but now it was crunch time. He had never done this before, but now wasn’t the time to be intimidated by new things. He’d never been in this position before, it was fun. It made him actually want to try those new things.

So it was with a narrowed eye and a small smirk he would rip his own spine out of his back. Smacking it against the ground as she had and causing a resounding crack to resonate through the field. He’d hear a strangled sound from the crowd before Tatsuya’s voice came out of it. “Bullshit, you said you’d never been trained before. When the hell did you learn that?!” He’d yell in anger, not really ignorable at that volume. Without taking his eyes off Alkaid, to make sure she didn’t try anything cute, Calin would respond “Oooh about five second ago. It’s news to me too” He would say with a shrug. Causing Tatusya to blush in indignation. “You sonofa..” The man was cut off as another member of the crowd, probably another of the older members bringing their younger siblings or cousins to learn would smack him upside the head to quiet him. “As you’ve heard I’ve never used this before Alkaid-san” He’d say in his own mildly teasing voice. “Please, guide me through how.” He’d add, tossing a small wink toward her in response. It was an act of course, Calin himself was fairly flustered indeed at her actions and he wanted to see if he could get the same reaction in turn as an attack was coming at her. This attack would be in the form of a swift snap turn of his wrist, causing the whip to twirl and swing up to strike toward the girls chest. He would watch carefully, wanting to make sure he was ready to react as best he could against her.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Chika Fri Sep 14, 2018 9:56 pm

“That’s funny, I don’t recall ever saying we’d only be using that.” Alkaid remarked as if it hadn’t even occured to her to stick to just that one technique in the first place.   “Besides that’s just the most basic move the clan has, the whole point of today’s exercise is to start taking you guys to the next level.” She explained off offhandedly while Holding the whip losing in one hand, ready to defend with it.

This was just a simple sparring match after all, she had no intention of going on the offensive with such a high level technique, at least not unless she was fighting someone she knew could take it and not end up in the hospital like Tsuuaki.

She simply laughed at Calin’s remark. It was tempting to reply back with more innuendo about first times and liking it rough but she had to be careful not to go too far with the joke what with all the young eyes and ears watching.    If she didn’t reign herself at least a little in her cousin was going to whoop her one on the head.

“You couldn’t be more right Calin. I love a good workout, it’s not often I find someone able to keep up with me.” she said slyly phrasing it in a way that seemed innocent enough at first glance but could also be suggestive for those old enough to know what she was really getting at.

As Calin pulled out his spine she let out a low impressed whistle. “Now that’s what I’m taking about. It takes a lot of talent to do that right on the first try.”  she said acknowledging his ability. He might not have her raw strength or speed, but his grit and tenacity in the face of adversity where admirable.

So it was you. She said shooting a glaring as Tatsuya as he spoke up again.  But even as she stared him down she left almost no openings in her posture for Calin to take advantage of.  It showed how seasoned she was that she could deal with two things at once without the slightest hint of trouble.  Pointing a free finger at the loud mouthed man she launched a distal phalanx bone for the second time that day so that it would pass within millimeter of the man’s crotch before slamming into the ground behind him with a dull thud.

“That’s enough out of the peanut gallery. If you want to say a man shut up and pay attention cause the next one won’t miss.” she growled out threateningly.  Turning her full attention back to Calin she smiled at him as if in apologies for keeping him waiting.

“And here I thought it was usually the man’s job to take the lead.” She remarked jokingly. It had been a good attempt but it was going to take a little bit more then just slightly saucy line and a wink to get her flustered.    Without warning he went to snap his whip at her so she responded by contracting her own whip down  transforming it into a harder then iron rod which she moved into place so that the tip of Calin’s whip would wrap around it, rather then strike her directly.

“The key to using the Vine is to remember that as long as you hold it it’s still alive.  You can manipulate the cartilage inside of it to change it’s shape, pushing and pulling the length to best suit your needs.  That way it can easily be turned into a lance, or even a sword” she lectured as she yanked back hard and fast in an attempt to pull Calin’s whip taunt.

“Be aware however that this strength can also be it’s weak-point” she started to say as she took her second hand and pulled the  katana from it’s holster on her hip and trust out with it in a series of tactically planned strikes aimed straight for the connective tissue holding the whip together.

If it worked she would continue on to say “If you’re not careful one could dismantle it with a few calculated blows like so. Dance of the Camilla she announced as the whip fell to pieces, bones scattering about on the floor between them.

The truth was that an average store bought sword would likely shattered on an attempt to replicated what she had just done, but she said nothing about this wanting to instil a degree of caution on those watching to not use the technique recklessly.

Feeling like the demonstration was nearly complete Alkaid took her own whip and quickly wrapped it around her left arm. This would take it out of play as a weapon while letting her save it for later and still use it as a shield in the meantime.   That was another lesson she had to show them, never to waste a thing you had made. Always be ready to put it to multiply uses.

“Well Calin do you have anything else you’d like to show me or should we call this demonstration over and call it a draw?” she asked lightheartedly. “You’ve done remarkably well today but I don’t want to push you too hard.” she said feeling slightly concerned.  That had been his first time using the Vine technique after all.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Peragus Sat Sep 15, 2018 11:54 am

She would retort by saying they never agreed to only use Dance of the Blossoms and that it was the clan’s most basic technique anyway. They’d hardly be instructing folks on the other techniques if they only fought with that. “Fair point.” He would say with a minor shrug . The next thing out of her mouth however would cause him to blush mildly. “Well then why not see if I can keep it up then shall we? It must be difficult for you to get a good work out in and I’d hate to disappoint.” He would say with his own sly phrasing that kept it just over the heads of the charges. Which was odd for him to think about, as wasn’t he one of them as well? The thought wouldn’t stay in his mind long though and after he ripped his own spine her she would congratulate him and tell him that it took talent to do such a thing. He would ignore this however, not wanting to screw up and disprove the compliment. After Tatsuya made his outburst she would respond in kind with another bone bullet. This time, Calin got a good look at the technique itself. Studying it closely before nodding internally, that didn’t seem too difficult. He would proceed to raise his voice after he outburst however. His own manners preventing him from allowing Tatsuya to take the full blame. “It was me too Alkaid-san. He had decided to try to.. Tell me how it was if you will and I simply tried to shut him up.” He would say with a small shrug. “I apologize for dishonoring you and Tsubaki-Sama’s demonstration. Would you like to come apply the appropriate punishment.” He would say with a wry grin that would most definitely tell anyone who saw it that wasn’t too young that the wording was on purpose, still intending to play the word play game to try to find something he could say that would get a reaction.

His attempt to strike at her chest was thwarted by her own spinal column which she caught onto hers after making hers stiffen up. He would listen as she explained the intricacies of the technique and nod understandingly. He wouldn’t be dismayed over the loss of his weapon, after all, he was Kaguya, he could always make more. She would respond however with asking if he wanted to call it quits and make it a draw or keep going. “Oh no, this is my first real test in combat, I don’t want it to end so soon. I can keep going and should I be allowed..” He would say as The Dance of The Willow would activate, the bones purposefully blunted to not accidentally stab someone. “I intend to keep doing so.” He would say as his stance and he brought a hand up and closed it toward him a couple of times in the universal sign of ‘Bring it bitch’. A plan for tagging her already in his mind as he did so.

Orientation (Kaguya/Training) Empty Re: Orientation (Kaguya/Training)

Post by Chika Sun Sep 16, 2018 8:16 pm

As if sensing her desire to dial back the innuendo a bit Calin responded in kind, keeping his own comment firmly within pg guidelines just like she’d wanted but with the it still had a subtle implaction contained within that would fly straight over the kids in the audiences heads.    Coming up with double entendre like that could be challenging but that was half the fun of doing it in the first place.

She remembered one fairy tail she’d read as a child where the lord had a big castle and the main character had joked about him compensating for something.   At the time she’d thought it was funny simply because he was making up for his poor character, but when she’d gotten older it had become doubly funny when she realized it was actually about the size of something down below the belt.

The look on Calin’s face was one that wondered if she should really be making such jokes with him when he was one of the people she was supposed to be teaching, but unfortunately for him he was actually older then Alkaid herself so she didn’t have any qualm about teasing him unlike say a ten year old child.  The last thing she wanted was for people to think she had shota tendencies.

The only problem with teasign someone like that was that you better darn well be prepared to be on the receiving end.   Nothing Calin had said so far had gotten her flustered but the comment on punishment certainly did the trick, making her face flush heavily in embarrassment.

Forgetting the comment she had been about to fling about how it wasn’t Tatusya place to “tell it like it is.” she let out a low sigh recomposing herself.  “Brothers, Sisters do you know what makes us of the Kaguya clan so great?” she asked for the audience.

“Our bones, which are stronger then steel?” suggested one young girl from the audience.  At this Alkaid ruefully shook her head no.   “Yes it is true, our bones are mighty for those of us who can wield them at least. But the thing that makes us great is more then simple flesh and blood. No what makes us great are our bonds.  We are a family, when united we can overcome any difficulty, any hardship.” she declared to a roaring applause.

“There will be no punishment….this time. she said putting emphasis on that last bit to show she wasn’t going to be so kind if the transgression was repeated.  “I want you to learn from your mistake today, and be a better person for it tomorrow.  For the sake of our family. For the sake of our future.”  she said causing another round of clapping.   It went to show she wasn’t the second in command solely for her pretty looks.

Tatsuya was little better then trash, but Calin…. he was another story.  Not everyone in the clan unlocked the ability to use their blood limit.  The fact that he could already use it to such a degree with so little training before hand made him very promising indeed even if he didn’t go on to become Tsubaki’s suitor.

It was enough that even Alkaid herself was starting to take a bit of an person interest in him beyond simply just teasing.   Of course her strongest devotion would always be towards Tsubaki first but that didn’t mean she didn’t have room in her heart for another.  It was funny, for a long time now she’d been looking for a man outside the clan and yet now it was one inside it that was making her heart flutter just a little.

There must be something in their dna to make them predisposed towards their own family after so many generations of inbreeding, or at least that’s how Alkaid rationalize it anyhow.  In any case she was looking forward to seeing how he was going to grow in the future.

Thinking that things would be over now that she’d given him an out so that he could save face he suppressed her expectations once again but insisting they keep going, using the same dance she’d shown him earlier in the day, right after she’d shattered his juice glass.

“Oh you handsome, silly fool.” she thought to herself as he gestured for her to bring it on.  The biggest downside of that jutsu was how it reduced your speed considerably.  You had to be careful when using it, especially against someone who was already faster then you to begin otherwise they could literally run circles around you.  At this point the only moves she hadn’t show him to do where the dead bone pulse which she’d already used once herself and the Dance of the Clematis: Flower which was a tech to make a drill like lance, great for when you wanted to hit something really hard, not so great for a casual sparring match though.

This was it then, no more fancy jutsu to display, just an out and out match to see who would drop first.  A match she couldn’t afford to lose, not while she was in front of Tsubaki and the other students at any rate. “Let’s see how long you last then, Boy” she said the last word with a hint of endearment rather then derisiveness.

Flipping her Katana around so that the blunt side was facing Calin it would become obvious if it wasn’t already that her sword wasn’t formed from iron or steel but from bone. She had forged it from her own body and it would not break easily.

Without warning she was off, sprinting to the side at top speed in an effort to circle around to Calin’s backside.  Even if he could see her coming it didn’t matter much if the rest of his body couldn’t keep up.  Maintaining a distance between them she swiped her Katana at the back of Calin’s head aiming to knock him out of the fight with one decisive strike.

Even thought she’d been told not to hold back before in truth she had been at least a little bit in order to put on a demonstration and teach how to use those techniques and their downsides properly. Now that he’d turned down an a tie she was done messing around as a different type of demonstration was now being called for.   “It might be fun to nurse him a bit after the match is over.” she thought to herself, confident that even if he managed to fend off this assault the match wouldn’t last much longer.

So this was it then, she didn’t seem to have any new techniques to display and that meant that she would be looking to end this sparring match swiftly. She had given him an out and he had denied it. For what safer place to push oneself to the brink of unconsciousness than in the presence of one’s own family? He couldn’t afford to train as such out in the training fields of Kirigakure. Who knew who would find him? Who knew what they would do to him? But he trusted his family. After all, who else could he trust? Alkaid had summed it up perfectly before. Family was our strongest bond. So this spar? He wouldn’t hold back, he wouldn’t back down, because it was a true opportunity to see how far he had to reach. It was legitimate, physical proof, of where his max limits for the moment lay. He wouldn’t give that up to safe face to a bunch of people who wouldn’t hurt him if he couldn’t defend himself.

    Except what about his father?

A cold thought flitted through his mind, would his father have trusted ‘family’ now? Would he have told Calin to do so? No, not after a family member murdered him in cold blood. The very bones they manipulated, took the life of his personal hero. That wouldn’t stand, and he’d utilize the same bones to mete out his justice, or would it be vengeance? Did he care which? He wasn’t sure he did. A brief flash of anger would cross his eyes as he realized he couldn’t truly trust anyone in the clan either, meaning he couldn’t afford to fall into unconsciousness. Luckily however, he never intended to. She was faster than him yes, however Dance of The Willow’s weakness was only a weakness if you used the technique incorrectly. His opponent couldn’t know he knew that, for sure hadn’t been here when he arrived. She hadn’t seen him studying Tsubaki’s form as she practiced with the very same technique.

She couldn’t have known that he had realized the power behind it.

One wasn’t meant to be fast with it, one was meant to utilize the bones protruding to cover blind spots. One didn’t have to be very fast to shift one’s shoulder, or turn their body after all. One could accurately say that the person who ran while using this technique was a true idiot. He wasn’t trying to be a cocky idiot when he attempted to goad her. He wanted her to come to him, because he wouldn’t have dared do the same. So the moment the girl came within range to strike at the back of his head he would simply drop his entire body, putting the weight on his knees as he center of gravity shifted and also, bringing his own head below the strike and begin to spin to meet her. This would have the added effect of attacking her with the bones protruding from his shoulders, and the bones from his knees would cover the area to the left of him as he spun in that direction. His head would turn ahead of his body, making sure to at least keep her in eyes eyesight. He could at best barely keep up with her if he focused his movements on his own center of gravity and not trying to run around like an idiot. However this was only barely. As he spun he would thrust his left palm under his right arm, attacking the right side of him with that bone as he spun. He wasn’t even sure if the bones would have the reach, but they might, and he couldn’t afford to try to close the distance himself.

Of course the bones he ‘attacked’ her with were blunted, but if he could score a hit with them it would be akin to stabbing her. However to do that he would need to keep her within reach, and that meant keeping her close. “You know, if you wanted to get closer all you had to do was ask.” He’d quip after the spin which would be a 180 degree spin. If she kept moving though he’d be prepared to keep the momentum flowing.

Alkaid couldn’t have know that her words which had been meant to inspiring had aggravated Calin instead. How could she considering they where only just getting to know each other now over the course of the sparring match. It was more fighting then talking so it was more like she was getting a sense of her personality, his character then his history, his likes and dislikes.  There would be a time for that all of that later, though after she had asserted her dominance.

She felt a mixture of mild annoyance followed by admiration as he managed to duck under the sword swing by dropping down his entire body.   If she had gone in for a punch instead she would have been surely been caught up in his counterspin.  Avoiding it only by virtue of the fact she’d been keeping her distance from him, using the superior reach of her weapon to keep herself relatively out of harms way.

Normally this is where she’d yank her sword back and attempt to smack him with the backside but since it was currently reversed she couldn’t risk it. Instead she spun herself away from him to increase the distance making it look almost as if two of them where doing a waltz on the stage.

“Wew, that was close, you almost had me their.”  she readily admitted. Even with the added range from her weapon the dulled spikes protruding from Calin’s body had come within a hair’s breath of striking her.  It just went to show that she better not get careless around him, he was more then capable of making her hurt.

“No thanks, I think I prefer over here for the moment.” She commented flippantly.  Sure there where ways for her to close the distance so she could physically smack him down if she really wanted to, but why work harder when she could work smarter instead.   She couldn’t think up anything too complicated but she didn’t have to know that she more or less knew his effective reach.

All she needed to do was pester him from outside the range her could hit back at her with.  She probably couldn’t get a knockout blow like she’d been hoping for but she wouldn’t mind a more drawn out match if it game down to it since she was confident she had more then enough stamina left to outlast him, especially as he was the one using a more draining technique then she was.

Standing at a distance of about 5 meters from Calin she took the whip she’d wrapped around her arm earlier, unfurling it in one smooth motion before sweeping it quickly across the floor in an effort to trip the boy up.
