As if sensing her desire to dial back the innuendo a bit Calin responded in kind, keeping his own comment firmly within pg guidelines just like she’d wanted but with the it still had a subtle implaction contained within that would fly straight over the kids in the audiences heads. Coming up with double entendre like that could be challenging but that was half the fun of doing it in the first place.
She remembered one fairy tail she’d read as a child where the lord had a big castle and the main character had joked about him compensating for something. At the time she’d thought it was funny simply because he was making up for his poor character, but when she’d gotten older it had become doubly funny when she realized it was actually about the size of something down below the belt.
The look on Calin’s face was one that wondered if she should really be making such jokes with him when he was one of the people she was supposed to be teaching, but unfortunately for him he was actually older then Alkaid herself so she didn’t have any qualm about teasing him unlike say a ten year old child. The last thing she wanted was for people to think she had shota tendencies.
The only problem with teasign someone like that was that you better darn well be prepared to be on the receiving end. Nothing Calin had said so far had gotten her flustered but the comment on punishment certainly did the trick, making her face flush heavily in embarrassment.
Forgetting the comment she had been about to fling about how it wasn’t Tatusya place to “tell it like it is.” she let out a low sigh recomposing herself.
“Brothers, Sisters do you know what makes us of the Kaguya clan so great?” she asked for the audience.
“Our bones, which are stronger then steel?” suggested one young girl from the audience. At this Alkaid ruefully shook her head no.
“Yes it is true, our bones are mighty for those of us who can wield them at least. But the thing that makes us great is more then simple flesh and blood. No what makes us great are our bonds. We are a family, when united we can overcome any difficulty, any hardship.” she declared to a roaring applause.
“There will be no punishment….this time.” she said putting emphasis on that last bit to show she wasn’t going to be so kind if the transgression was repeated.
“I want you to learn from your mistake today, and be a better person for it tomorrow. For the sake of our family. For the sake of our future.” she said causing another round of clapping. It went to show she wasn’t the second in command solely for her pretty looks.
Tatsuya was little better then trash, but Calin…. he was another story. Not everyone in the clan unlocked the ability to use their blood limit. The fact that he could already use it to such a degree with so little training before hand made him very promising indeed even if he didn’t go on to become Tsubaki’s suitor.
It was enough that even Alkaid herself was starting to take a bit of an person interest in him beyond simply just teasing. Of course her strongest devotion would always be towards Tsubaki first but that didn’t mean she didn’t have room in her heart for another. It was funny, for a long time now she’d been looking for a man outside the clan and yet now it was one inside it that was making her heart flutter just a little.
There must be something in their dna to make them predisposed towards their own family after so many generations of inbreeding, or at least that’s how Alkaid rationalize it anyhow. In any case she was looking forward to seeing how he was going to grow in the future.
Thinking that things would be over now that she’d given him an out so that he could save face he suppressed her expectations once again but insisting they keep going, using the same dance she’d shown him earlier in the day, right after she’d shattered his juice glass.
“Oh you handsome, silly fool.” she thought to herself as he gestured for her to bring it on. The biggest downside of that jutsu was how it reduced your speed considerably. You had to be careful when using it, especially against someone who was already faster then you to begin otherwise they could literally run circles around you. At this point the only moves she hadn’t show him to do where the dead bone pulse which she’d already used once herself and the Dance of the Clematis: Flower which was a tech to make a drill like lance, great for when you wanted to hit something really hard, not so great for a casual sparring match though.
This was it then, no more fancy jutsu to display, just an out and out match to see who would drop first. A match she couldn’t afford to lose, not while she was in front of Tsubaki and the other students at any rate.
“Let’s see how long you last then, Boy” she said the last word with a hint of endearment rather then derisiveness.
Flipping her Katana around so that the blunt side was facing Calin it would become obvious if it wasn’t already that her sword wasn’t formed from iron or steel but from bone. She had forged it from her own body and it would not break easily.
Without warning she was off, sprinting to the side at top speed in an effort to circle around to Calin’s backside. Even if he could see her coming it didn’t matter much if the rest of his body couldn’t keep up. Maintaining a distance between them she swiped her Katana at the back of Calin’s head aiming to knock him out of the fight with one decisive strike.
Even thought she’d been told not to hold back before in truth she had been at least a little bit in order to put on a demonstration and teach how to use those techniques and their downsides properly. Now that he’d turned down an a tie she was done messing around as a different type of demonstration was now being called for.
“It might be fun to nurse him a bit after the match is over.” she thought to herself, confident that even if he managed to fend off this assault the match wouldn’t last much longer.
