- Predator: There are times when even the most educated and controlled individuals can lose themselves. Satori is of no exception, and when he becomes too excited or emotional he loses himself in a haze of instinct. During this time he becomes far more feral, losing two tiers in Intelligence in return for gaining + to Strength and Speed, and ++ to Coordination and Perception. This can never push these stats beyond S-Rank.
- Sponge for Knowledge: Satori is the type to absorb all information that he can acquire at as fast a speed as possible. A glutton for information and skills, anything that can provide him with an advantage, the wordcount requirement to learn canon techniques or custom techniques made by other characters is halved. While the word count for creating his own custom techniques is increased by 50%.
Appearance: Satori is what could only be described as a boy that's body is outgrowing him. Despite his youth he stands at five feet exactly. Towering over his peers and often being confused for someone in their young teens. This is emphasized by the fact the boy has massive hands and feet, long limbs, and a relatively compact torso by comparison due to his body being midway through its growth. His build is lanky and thin, and though there is clearly defined muscle decorating his body, he clearly hasn't "filled out" by any means.
When one manages to get away from his abnormal size to specifically examine his body, they would find brilliant crimson orbs holding vertical, feline-like pupils. His facial structure, completely mismatching his body, still holds a boyish roundness to its shape. High cheekbones are barely visible through the baby-fat still decorating his features, and his jaw's sharpness is harshly hidden behind the same. Thin dark pink lips hide the pair of enlarged incisors decorating his mouth, and his teeth are notably larger than a normal human, practically glowing white. Contrasting harshly against his deep tan skin.
This same skin, despite his youth, is already decorated with countless scars of varying types. From clearly that of an animal lashing out at him, bite marks, sword wounds and more, it's clear the boy has been through extensive physical trauma despite his youth. The boy's hair is cropped relatively short, falling around his ears and neck in wild raven-black curls. The finishing touches to his notable abilities being the claws at the ends of his long fingers and toes, as well as the piercing decorating his eyebrows, nose, and lips marking him as an official adult of the Ryuutei Clan.
Generally, his clothing is simple and to the point, largely due to the fact that he must make them himself. Due to this, woven clothing is quite rare and he instead tends to wear quite a bit of leather, his outfits clearly having none of the usual "prepurchased" designs. Wearing a leather vest, woven sandals he can easily kick off, and a simple pair of cotton shorts is incredibly common for the boy due to his natural body heat and preference to fight without anything on his hands and feet as they get in the way of his claws. He tends to avoid excessively baggy or tight clothing, as they both can hamper you in many ways while in battle.
History: Satori was born to a young man named Kiyoshi Ryuutei, and a young woman married into the clan, Raika Ryuutei during the period of time when the Ryuutei had finally settled, and were starting to work toward the idea of joining the other groups forming a village in the future, Kirigakure. Like many boys born into the clan, Satori was not given a name when he was born, and instead was given the number sixteen, as the sixteenth male of that generation. Like many males that struggled to endure the chakra within them, Satori was born growing used to bouts of intense pain as his own chakra tried to kill him every minute, of every day. However, through a force of will to live and being blessed with a strong body and genetics, Satori managed to survive his first trial through life and managed to reach the age of one. It was at this point that he was formally accepted into the family, though still only going by a number as was common, he would not gain a name until he entered his clan's version of adulthood.
Raised within the Ryuutei Clan, Satori was brought up in the rough and realist world of the clan, raised with the idea that the clan and village were everything that mattered. He was taught from a young age, language, and the basics of being a shinobi from his father and his three mothers along with his two twin sisters and one brother, though he had originally had another brother the boy had been stillborn. Tutored by his mothers, and taken out on hunts and taught how to skin, gut, and cook by his father, Satori grew up what many would consider a privileged life. However, there were rules in the Ryuutei household, and one was that they all had to pull their weight no matter how young. From a young age, Satori had responsibility hammered into him, if he could walk he would help carry supplies for the adults.
If he couldn't move any longer, he would sit and prepare food so that the adults could cook it, skinning potatoes, cleaning rice, boiling water, skinning animals and more were all common things that he was to do. Cleaning as well, as he was placed in charge of his own room. When Satori turned six, he was taken out on his first true hunt, and his father began teaching him the basics of stealth, tracking, and how to smell chakra as was customary of his clan. It was here, that Satori began to shine as even among his clan, he wasn't obviously talented, nor was he overly intelligent. But he had another weapon, and that was his obsession.
When other children went back home to prepare to go to bed, certainly having earned it, but not enough for Satori, the boy would remain in the forest. Hunting, tracking, killing and skinning. He would spend most of his time in the forest, only returning home to handle his responsibilities and often even sleeping out in the trees. This eventually became noticed by the elders, who showed their respect and interest by granting the boy a special right at a surprisingly young age, the chance to earn his ceremonial piercings should he pass his first trial into adulthood. At the age of eight, Satori was stripped naked and told to survive within the forest on his own for a month, and so the boy did.
Using his knowledge, claws, and teeth, he hunted and gathered, killed and gutted. He created his own clothing from those that he killed, and each time took the remains he could not use and placed them in a pile that he would be certain to bring back to add to the fertilizer piles at the clans home. By the time the month had passed, and Satori returned dragging the remains behind him, wielding tools of sharpened bone and stone, he had been awarded his first reward. However, even as the bone needles pierced into his skin and his eyebrows were seared from his flesh, Satori was not satisfied. This obsession continued to drive the boy forward, to the point that he even began requesting that his parents allow him to attend the Academy atop his home studies.
Usually, Ryuutei would simply learn at home and hammer the knowledge into them before going straight to Genin, but Satoshi didn't want to learn just his clan's techniques. He wanted to build upon them, he wanted to learn everything he could and evolve his clans jutsu even further, and with a slight uncertainty, his parents approved of his actions. However, in order to join the Academy the child needed a name, and as such he would have to perform the final ritual to obtain his sacred individuality in the eyes of the clan. Due to this, his joining was put off until his father had captured an enemy shinobi from a mission and obtained permission to use the woman for his clan's rituals.
This ritual was simple, the boy was to kill the woman using only his bare hands. Normally, the woman would be allowed to rest in order to show proof, but considering the boy's age this rule was waived, and instead, he was placed in the arena with the woman chained to the earth so she couldn't flee. Satori had hunted much of his life, killed animals, and understood the laws of nature. However, he had never truly fought another human being, and that was this test. Launching at her, the boy surprised everyone, once more not because of some tremendous talent, but because of his ruthless obsession to kill, to win.
He was knocked down constantly, suffering multiple broken bones, and yet despite it all, his tenacity won the day as his teeth sank into the woman's throat. Barehanded, he had killed the woman, and as he stood on the grassy plain, staring down at the bloody corpse Satori felt something different from when he had hunted animals. This was true death, and as he watched the intelligence, the emotions, the life drain from the woman's eyes he felt something stir inside him. An epiphany of sorts, as the laws of nature finally clicked in the boy's mind, on why he had attacked, hunted, and killed. On what he wanted to truly do, on why he wanted power.
When they asked him his name, a single response was all the boy gave.
"Satori," sudden enlightenment, a fitting name, and as the boy's eyes focused on the elders own, they saw a fire within the blood-covered child that made them shiver. There was something within this boy, and it wasn't a natural talent or incredible intellect. Nor was it something as simple as "good genetics", no, the boys most potent weapon was his determination, his obsession, and his charisma. Dragging the corpse behind him, without hesitation beginning the butchering, the adults could only beam proudly at the child that had been born to their clan. So Satori became an adult within the eyes of the clan at only the age of nine.
The next day, he began attending the Academy, and the bloody, brutal, and single-minded story of Satori Ryuutei began. He was determined to shake Kirigakure to its very core, no matter what cost it came to him personally.
Personality: Satori is a fairly simple individual, but that's not to be confused with stupidity by any means. Raised by his clan, he embodies many of their traditions and see's no issue with much that the world offers. When it comes to general interactions with others, Satori is surprisingly firm in his patriotism. To him, Kirigakure is his home, his family, and they are the only ones that matter. He doesn't care about the other villages or civilians ruled by other lands. This idea that only family matters has been hammered into him from the beginning of his life, as it is a key aspect of how the Ryuutei Clan has managed to survive as long as they have and obtain as much power as they have. Due to these teachings, Satori is very much a logical mind that doesn't overcomplicate things or worry too much about consequences, instead simply accepting responsibility and moving on.
For a young man, he is overwhelmingly mature and calm, philosophical and surprisingly down to earth. This is due to never having been spoiled by his family, and he holds great pride in the symbol he wears on his arm. The teachings of his family have hardened the man, as in order to gain a name within the clan one must kill another. Satori has already killed countless animals and several enemy ninjas as his right of passage with his clan. As such, he holds a firm understanding of life and death and sticks closely to the beliefs of his people with an almost unnerving stubbornness. Despite this, he is not nearly as heartless as some within his clan or village and see's no issue with being kind to civilians, especially of those within the land of water.
Protecting the people, helping them, and doing what he can to ensure they are safe being some of the most important aspects of his duty in his eyes. He gains strength for his family and his village, and that is all the motivation that he needs. This shows another aspect of Satori's mentality, that being his overwhelmingly potent willpower and determination. A single-minded mindset based on his people that, combined with his near zealotry and combat skill makes him the perfect personality for, essentially a warlord that cares for his people. This same mentality sticks to those that join him, as even if they were originally an enemy, as long as they have renounced their old ways and joined him then he will forgive and protect them just as he would those born in his homeland.
When it comes to hobbies, and general enjoyment, Satori tends to prefer the simple things in life. Reading books, fighting, training, cooking, and hunting are all very frequent pass-times for the man. Often he will spend his time trying to better himself, or hunt in order to get his food, never really concerned with the idea of buying anything from the supermarkets and instead content to make weaponry all on his own. Effectively, if it's something he can do with his hands or something to better himself, Satori will generally enjoy doing it.
On the opposite side of this spectrum, there are some things that Satori quite simply dislikes. This does not mean he will not ever do them by any means, as if it means victory he will do anything he must without complaint. Even such things as killing civilians, or killing enemies that have surrendered. But such actions still bother him, in his mind it is only business, and it is not business he enjoys. Similarly, he tends to dislike those that try to press their views or beliefs on him, such as criticizing his clan's traditions, hypocritically considering that he often finds the views of others to be idiotic and wasteful, even if he rarely speaks such thoughts.
Kind, and yet dangerous, creative, charismatic, manipulative, philosophical and eager to learn, and yet straightforward, the man is a mixed bag and in a single word: simple. He doesn't try to be anything he isn't, is as content sleeping in the dirt as he is a bed, and worries for those around him far more than he does himself. In the end, he is a young conquerer in the making. A predator that believes in strength, and the natural laws of nature, life, death. Of never wasting any resource. As well as of course, a natural bloodlust that all of his clan have, he is not a king, nor a politician, but a warlord by nature.
