Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

    Post by Q Sun Feb 09, 2020 7:50 pm

Q marched forwards with some significant pep in his step. The sword carrying genin stomped through the thick canopy while screaming at the lyrics to one of the most laziest songs in history:

"AW-WEEM BOH WEI! AW-WEEM BOH WEI! AW-WEEM BOH WEI! IN THE JUNGLE THE MIIIIIGHTY JUNGLE!!! THE LION SLEEPS TOOOONIGHT!!!! AWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-AHBOOMBAH BUM BOH WEIII!!!!"

The singing was loud, obnoxious, and bound to draw the attention of the other competitors. Irrespective of how Skiddy reacted to Q's decision to burst into song he would not be deterred or persuaded against it. Quarashibanzai was daring the other genin to come for them. He was so confident in his skills and superiority that he believed that drawing his enemies to him was like drawing flies to a frog. The encounter would be trouble for the former but a tasty victory for the latter.

"I can't hear you Skiddy back me up!" he yelled with uproarious overconfidence. Despite his loud bellowing, he kept his ears and eyes on the surrounding environment. He was waiting for someone or something to jump out and attack them. Someone was bound to react to his mating call.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Yoshi would smile. She was extremely uncomfortable, but she would still smile anyway. It was like trying to trick yourself into being happy. If you just kept smiling, maybe eventually your brain would just forget how terrible everything was? Unfortunately it didn’t seem to be working, but that wasn’t any reason to give up. No, she would just keep smiling until she was happy, or until her lips fell off. Whichever came first.

He kept calling her ‘Skiddy’ for some reason. What did that mean? Yoshi had no idea. This guy should have known her name too, since it was on the mission statement. Following behind him she couldn’t help but wonder what was wrong with him. Maybe, was she being cursed? Did she commit some grave sin, and this was an act of karma against her? Yoshi was beginning to wonder if she should stop and pray, or beg for forgiveness from the Sage.

“Haha… In the jungle….” Yoshi didn’t know the words really, but on Q’s order she would do her best to mimic what he was singing. “In the jungle the lion sleeps…. Aw boh wei?” She had no idea what she was doing, or what he was doing.

This would definitely be the place where she died. Yoshitsune could feel her inevitable death coming.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by TsukiTatsuda Sun Feb 09, 2020 9:56 pm

The jungle was humid, and it was like a blanket of water constantly wrapping Tsuki's skin. The heat in combination of surviving in the wilderness was a tad bit difficult. In a city all Tsuki had to do is stop by a store or a stall to get food whenever she was hungry. Sometimes people would offer food as their way of expressing acceptance. Out here in the wilderness, Tsuki had to work for it.

In addition to that, Tsuki and Irui will have to either tackle another team for their relic or somehow find another. Tsuki had a feeling that this test was either going to be really easy or really hard depending on what would happen. Thankfully her partner happens to be someone Tsuki already knew, and she fought him before too so she already knows what he's good at. They were already in the jungle on day one,and Tsuki figured if they could get their second relic on day one. All they would need to do is guard the relics and travel for the center until the fifth day.

Not long after they ventured into the jungle, Tsuki's ears pick up a loud, obnoxious voice echoing throughout the jungle. Immediately her brow knit as Tsuki was beginning to wonder if someone lost their mind.

"Either they're really cocky or really stupid…" Tsuki mutters as she formed a handseal to conjure a shadow clone. Her shadow clone scales up on a tree and disappears into the canopy. Weaving from tree to tree using chakra on the feet to magnetize themselves to the bark. As the shadow clone was heading towards the source, Tsuki motions for Irui to follow as she walks to the source at a curved angle. Once the shadow clone was in position, having the height advantage and trying to make as little noise as possible. The shadow clone will begin weaving multiple handseals together. During which Tsuki, at the pair's left flank, silently climbs up on another tree that was quite a few meters away from the shadow clone. Once Tsuki was of good enough height of roughly twenty meters, the shadow clone finished the handseals before taking a deep breath.

As the shadow clone exhales it spews a dense cloud of ash that expands wide coming down on Yoshi and Q. Where the cloud will quickly fill up 50 meters of space, but it's not really that tall since it's only ten meters tall. If the pair are caught in the cloud it functions just like a smokescreen. Robbing them of sight as the ashes burn at their bodies and clothes. Because of the ash's nature, it will also become a bit difficult to breath since they're inhaling equivalent to cigarette ash. As the cloud is filling up the area, Tsuki is weaving a few handseals as well. However Tsuki has the final handseal held in place as she keeps the chakra built up in her mouth. It felt like having a rock in her mouth, but Tsuki isn't releasing it yet. Instead, Tsuki observes and calculates on what they will do with her intellect. At the very least, it'll buy Irui enough time to setup whatever illusions he has planned.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by Irui Mikiri Sun Feb 09, 2020 11:00 pm

The gates had flung themselves open-- a maw into the beat of a green, and wild forest. A high perimeter of chain-link fence and barbed wire formed its skin, and its interior was teeming with life. Birds, insects, and all manner of howling things filled the air. For Irui, coming from a mountainous and icy region, the wonder of the jungle was almost distracting.

    Almost.

The two of them kept close, with Tsuki a few steps ahead. Through the din of the wilderness, a sound broke the cadence of bird calls. It was strange, broken, wait was someone dying up ahead? Irui stopped, and made a small, piercing hiss between his teeth, signaling to his Tatsuda partner, and nodded to the forest up ahead.

"Either they're really cocky or really stupid…" Tsuki muttered under breath. Irui cocked a smile, and touched the ground briefly. One... No, two signatures.... He counted, signing the number and direction to his partner with his free hand. Without another means of detection, it was nigh impossible to see through the undergrowth. Tall trees and broad leaves blocked much of their view. However, it didn't stop Tsuki.

She was already on the move: conjuring a shadow clone from thin air. Immediately the doppelganger vanished into the canopy, while Irui
took to Tsuki's trail, following along at an arc. She was the more experienced one, he knew for certain, and followed her lead into the trees. He slipped through the branches, ducking and weaving, while keeping a bead on the opponent's signing below. Once they were in position, his hands cleanly knitted together into the Tiger seal.

Smoke and ash exploded through the branches and leaves, thickly enshrouding the forest floor. . Spewed from the Shadow Clones mouth, it quickly covered the area, boring down on the two below. The particulate screen would choke their vision and senses, stinging embers and flame would bite at their clothing. Tsuki's fire would spark a rush of adrenaline. Irui zeroed in on the two signatures below, extending his chakra beyond the reach of Tsuki's smokescreen. In the thick of the ashcloud, trees and features would blend, split, and distort, direction would become a foreign thing. Irui pressed upon the lizard-portion of the brain, distracting and blinding neurons. Direct force wasn't necessary here, they just had to keep them off-balance and aimless.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

    Post by Q Tue Feb 11, 2020 9:41 pm

Q stopped marching the moment he smelled smoke. The young man's senses were not dulled despite his egomania. His eyes looked to the source of the bizarre smell. A massive cloud of ash was descending on them and it was moving fast. It looked like their prey had come straight to them. Q was scared internally but he put on a brave face. This is what he had asked for.

"Looks like we got company!" he hollered. "RUN!"

Quarashibanzai dashed away from the expanding cloud of ash. The young man flickered through a series of handseals as he ran forwards. He had a bit of a head-start on the cloud but he knew that he couldn't make it out of the technique's range in time. It was gaining on him and there was no telling what kind of foul trickery his opponents would loose once he was enraptured in the ash. Although something told him that they'd probably use it to burn him to death. Unfortunately, they were dealing with a world class arsonist.

I know a thing or two about fire as well....

"SKIDDY GET THE FUCK OUT OF THE WAY!" Q would scream with spittle flying out of his mouth. He'd whip around and release the jutsu he had prepared while running away from the ash. Q opened his mouth and spewed a stream of fire at the ashen cloud. The blast of fire would collide with the ash and prematurely ignite it. The end result would be a catastrophic explosion that would hopefully engulf his invisible opponents along with the entire treeline. The blast would send the boy rocketing backwards. He'd tumble and roll in the ground as the shockwave ripped through the jungle.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by Yoshitsune Tue Feb 11, 2020 10:19 pm

She smelled it before she saw it. Ash. The fact that she could smell it at all was an immediate sign of attack, and the girl would prepare herself behind Q. It came at them fast though. Fight or flight flashed into her mind, and Yoshitsune would be forced to choose. Without having time to think, she would begin forming hand seals. She couldn’t run, not without her partner. Even if he was annoying, leaving him for dead was intolerable. It seemed that Q had the opposite idea though, even though she had just started a series of hand-seals with her left hand. She wouldn’t stop herself, but she would make sure to hold the chakra in her stomach. Her left hand would remain frozen in the single-handed snake symbol as she finished. She wouldn’t release it yet now that Q had given the order to run. She would dash with him, and the wind chakra would spin around anxiously in her gut.

Once he had finished his own hand seals it seemed that the plan would reverse, at least based on what he was screeching. She couldn’t very well respond, lest any of her build up chakra leak out in a torrent from her lips. The fact that he had spilled out a stream of flame though was convenient for her. She had a natural talent in using wind, and if Q used fire than perhaps this wouldn’t be as difficult as she originally thought. Doing her best to ‘get the fuck out of the way’ as Q had demmanded of her though, Yoshi would leap a few meter behind him, running to get as much distance as she could.

He would be sent tumbling backwards from the impact of the blast, and she nearly would as well. The extra distance she had gotten by not stopping and turning around, plus just how she was faster than he was, allowed her to avoid getting swept off her feet, although just barely.

With the explosion still fresh in the air, Yoshi would finally release her left hand. The spiraling chakra in her gut would release, and with Q set down on the ground she would be free to let it out. As it began to leak from her lips she would do a quick spin, twirling like a ballerina would. With the torrenting tornado of wind whipping out from her mouth as she did this the blast of wind she had been holding in would be directed around her in a full 360 degrees. It would ignite as it caught the still burning explosion of fire, sending an incredible force around to clear the forest.

Trees would be uprooted from the force, and then with the fire together a grand tornado of flame would hollow out the earth and completely clear the playing field. Everything up to one hundred and fifty meters away would be blown clean, leaving just empty and scorched ground as the trees had been set ablaze and uprooted. The fire would likely spread much further than this, in part due to the uprooted burning trees that were violently flung in every direction. Only the direct area surrounding her in a five or so meter radius would be spared from the torrent, with its layer of grass and one Q left unsinged.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by TsukiTatsuda Wed Feb 12, 2020 12:26 am

Granted there was an additional reason behind the ash cloud, or rather there were several. Part of it was because the technique is a widespread smokescreen. However the real thing, the true reason, is that it gives Tsuki a better assessment of who she is dealing with. Whoever the male was that previously sang that obnoxious tune now shouted for them to run. Tsuki could have launched her technique, however seeing as they were running Tsuki estimated they would be out of the range before it could touch them. So Tsuki swallows the rock that had built up inside of her mouth and felt it dissolve in a rapid pace into chakra.

With a nod of her head, the shadow clone of Tsuki leapt from tree to tree as the clone was to circle around the cloud's perimeter. In particular circling towards the general direction they heard that loud one. Then Tsuki heard that same voice barking some kind of order, and by this point Tsuki was about to leap from tree to tree again towards that direction. However, like a spark to a greater flame, something ignited the ashes which causes multiple chain reactions to result in immediate combustion. Thankfully Tsuki was twenty meters above ground, ten from the cloud, so while not point-blank of the explosion, Tsuki was still blown away with a yelp. Rather, Tsuki was thrown upward into the sky of roughly thirty meters above ground.

Either one of them is also Katon user, a really experienced Fuuton, or one of them is carrying a flint to cause that reaction… that was one hell of a bang though. Tsuki thought to herself during her ascent. Even going as far as charging up more Katon chakra in her core. Her body was aching from the shockwave, and perhaps her hair did get singed a little. Yet she still forms a dragon handseal as her dark locks whip in the wind.

Let's see which one of us can turn up the heat the most. With a flip of her body and still remembering where she was. Tsuki kept in mind roughly where her shadow clone was who happens to be 40 meters away from their targets while hiding in the tree canopy. Just before Tsuki releases her technique, she witnesses a torrent of fire from the starting point barreling through trees. Uprooting anything in its path, and what's more is that Tsuki isn't sure where exactly that explosion knocked Irui off. So new plan Tsuki concludes as originally she was going to cut them off with a ring of fire. Smoke them out and strike negotiations to hand over the relic so that she can guarantee their safety.

Exhaling from her lips as the seemingly sphere of fire rapidly approached Tsuki. The Phoenix unleashes a wide spread volley of fireballs at the sphere roughly where Tsuki saw it began. Most will detonate into multiple 20 meter spheres of intense fire, possibly allowing one or three to slip through and explode roughly thirty meters away from Q's and Yoshi's position. Creating a rift in this doughnut didn't necessarily eliminated the problem, but it certainly made about 100 meter clearance which is plenty of space for Tsuki to safely drop down. Albeit the flaming trees could be a problem as well, but Tsuki reaches in her pouch to retrieve some Kunai and lots of wire. Tsuki will attach the wires through the ring of her Kunai before throwing it at one of the flaming trees nearby that was going to hit her. Seeing as they're both in the air, even someone like her can spin her body with the wire in hand to wildly swing the flaming tree around her body. Building lots of momentum before launching it high in the air. The Kunai rips off bark as it disconnects from the tree as it flies in a high arc. Aiming to crash the pair in wood, fire, and smoke.

After that Tsuki lands on her feet in the clearing as her molten gold eyes scan for not just the pair, but for Irui as well. With a flick of her wrist as the wire was still attached to her hand. Tsuki recalls the Kunai back to her hand. Tsuki notices that her shadow clone is gone, but she doesn't let that affect her as Tsuki does the repetitive motion of weaving wire around each ring of Kunai. A total of four Kunai and each has about 10 ft. Length of steel wire. All while Tsuki keeps an eye out for the pair. If nothing happens for a couple of seconds, Tsuki will begin to walk towards the center.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by Irui Mikiri Wed Feb 12, 2020 5:58 pm

OOC: So Chigetsu and I talked it over, and I'm happy to bow out here.

Not long after Tsuki had released the ash cloud, a male called out-- "We've got company, run!!"--and the two combatants were on the move.

Experience taught him that Tsuki Tatsuda was more than capable of devastating Ninjutsu, and her flames were by no means something to take lightly. Irui was already on the move as he sensed the chakra welling within the man and woman's bodies; He'd recognized Tsuki's ploy and deduced its destructive potential. His partner, logically saw an opportunity for her own destructive.  The Kumo-nin put two and two together.  With a grunt he turned to leap to the nearest tree, and the next and the next, peeling through the rain-coated vegetations as he moved to avoid Tsuki's warpath. Twenty meters from ground level, and over ten from the cloud, she’d given him an ample head-start. At his current rate he’d clear eight meters per second and with an early warning he had only one route through the trees:

    Straight through.

--A flash of light, hot and orange, streamed through the forest, unfettered by the water-choked woods. The flamethrower licked Tsuki's ash cloud. The result was near-instantaneous: a roiling plume of fire thundered and roared into life, fed by the ash cloud trail. But no, that wasn't all at play here. The second Shinobi--!! He realized, and as soon as he’d touched down his fingers had woven seals. Chakra, gathered at his feet transformed into propulsion, and Irui sprinted forward at a blur, rocketing into the air to clear the tree-top, soaring.

    They’re combining Wind with Fire--!

Even with the wind rushing over his ears, he heard, no, felt the pressure change as Fire Style met Wind: the most violent reaction in the Shinobi World. Like cannonfire, the report resounded through the atmosphere, and Irui tucked his legs and arms in, physically bracing himself.

"I'm fine, I'm fine I'm..." He glanced back, to the blossoming flame as he flew. "I'm fucked."

Irui screamed-- high pitched and Scrat-like-- as the wave met him mid-flight. The boy's shriek continued as he arced over the forest, eyes wide and bug-like, his cloak trailing smoke and leaves all the way as the wave carried him into the distance.  Still screaming, shrilly, he swore as he smacked into a branch, and it return the favor by catapulting him.  His limbs flailed wildly as he careened through the air until the outstretched fronds of palm trees caught him-- then tipped him sideways, and sent him cartwheeling into a watering hole below.

Irui floated to the surface, spread-eagled and unconscious.

“Oi, Katsuro!” A Hidden Mist patrol called out to his colleague. “Get the net! First one of the day, you owe me Ryo and Gyoza!"

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

    Post by Q Thu Feb 13, 2020 6:38 am

Q watched in awe as his partner followed up his Fire Style within Wind. It appeared as though they were a natural compliment to each other's abilities. The boy smirked as the explosion rocked the entire forest. The force of the blast was far greater than he could have ever imagined. He knew that Fuuton often invigorated Katon but seeing it first hand was something else. He heard screaming in the distance and he knew that their attack had hit its marked.

    Fucking Nice!

He thought to himself. One down, One to go! He mentally cheered. He couldn't afford to get too distracted though. He spied a fiery tree hurtling towards him and easily dodged it. Jumping to the side and rolling away from the debris before it could strike him. The strength with which the tree was hurled was not great and thus its accuracy would be undoubtedly compromised. The Tatsuda then returned fire with a launch of several fireballs which smashed into the area and coated it with fire. Q's only element was flame and he knew that hitting back with fire would only make their situation worse. The young man began to cough as the smoke and flame roared all around them. They needed to find a way out of this situation fast or they'd be suffocated.

"Hey Skiddy, any bright ideas?!" he called out.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by Yoshitsune Thu Feb 13, 2020 5:14 pm

The screaming that came from her attack would seem to signal something good, although it was impossible to tell the exact result. Still, her plan had been altogether a success. The field was completely cleared of all that ash and the pesky trees that had been hiding their assailants from view. The volly of explosions that rang out in response indicated the location of their other, non-screaming attacker, and judging by how the teams were organized it was safe to assume that there only would be two people attacking them at the moment. Yoshi would turn to face the threat, and her sword would be immediately drawn from its scabbard with a rasp. She grinned, clearly eager for combat.

The tree being thrown at them would be something she hadn’t expected, although given that it had come from the same direction that the several explosions had originated it would be easy to catch a sight of it. A few controlled hops backwards would allow her to weave out of its way. The strength that it was thrown at gave her a somewhat good idea of their opponents physical capabilities, at least presumably what were unaided with chakra. The tree would crash down to her right, with a small dust of crushed and almost ashy wood chips expelling from the force. The rain that was pouring down over them would do a good job of putting these fires out naturally, but the smoke and debris in the air was becoming a bit overbearing. With all the fire that seemed to be getting thrown around it was likely that it would only get worse too.

But she could at least identify her opponent now. A woman slightly taller than she was, or perhaps the same height. It was difficult to tell. Her waving, long and dark hair that strung down in a simple ponytail was something that Yoshi could appreciate though. She was a clear beauty, and Yoshi wasn’t just thinking that because the two women resembled each other with having similar heights, builds, and hairstyles and colors. It was just that Yoshi could appreciate these things when she saw them. Moreover this was someone she actually recognized. Tsuki Tatsuda, a senior of hers in Kumogakure. She truthfully didn’t know anything about her other than her name, but the fact that they were from the same village complicated this a bit. Yoshitsune would have gladly cut down any foreigner, but harming Tsuki in such a way was off the table.

Instead of taking the easy route, she would set a trap to resolve this complicated affair.

“Wind Release: Passing Typhoon!” She would yell out the name of the technique as she used it, whipping her sword up in the air as great gust of wind blew out in a radius around her. It would work to blow away a majority of the smoke in the air, and given that the rain had already deadened the natural fires that had been caused (and the majority of it had just been blown away by the initial gust and uprooting of the trees, which left little material left to burn) there would be nothing to ignite the burst of wind naturally. The moment after she threw up that gust of wind she would clench her unoccupied left hand into a single-handed Boar hand seal. She would hold it like this, keeping the chakra charged and prepared just in case. The entire time she would watch the now exposed Tsuki, especially her hands and any potential movements they might have.

“You cowardly dog! You rabble of goblins! To charge and attack an unsuspecting foe from behind shows you have no honor! Do you dare have the courage to challenge me for my head?” She would scream out to her opponent, and in the process her demeanor would change. A significant amount of blood thirst would leak out from her, perspiring into the air around her. “I am Yoshitsune Sojobo, Protector of the Tengu of Kumogakure! Surrender yourself now, Tsuki Tatsuda, lest I remove your head from your shoulders!”

The scream coming from the fire storm was worrisome. Not because it could have come from their targets. Rather, there was Irui that's unaccounted for. Even as she was flung skyward the scream was clear as calm water. Tsuki's mind was deterred to wondering how Irui's condition was. Tsuki hoped that her barrage of fireballs would create a big enough rift to have Irui be excluded from the damage.

Tsuki kept to her original action for the most part up to the point when she lands on her feet. Tsuki wanted to make use of her tools to conserve chakra, but that was also Tsuki counting on Irui laying low somewhere to strike. As much as Tsuki wants to retreat and check on Irui immediately. She figured that these two would simply follow and ambush Team G. So the solution was simple. Either Tsuki knocks them out here or force them to retreat. Truthfully, she wanted to save her strength for a bigger catch, however in this case it seems like she'll have to go hard.

While Q and Yoshi were focused on evading the tree. Tsuki was approaching via walking pace as her hands came up to her center. Moving notably slower than both of them as Tsuki isn't the speedster type. The chakra charged of both earth and fire molds into her core before it flows down her legs and into the ashen ground. By the time she finished is when Yoshi performed that breeze technique to dispel the smoke and ash. Beneath their feet the earth seems to crack with multiple glowing orange veins coursing throughout a 25 meters square. The very ground suddenly spike up like caltrops to make moving around more difficult as multiple geysers of lava rapidly burst from the ground encircling them in a ring of lava. Each geyser is about 10 meters away from the pair.

Liquid fire splatters for an additional 3 meters around the ring as heat drastically increases. The caltrops suddenly erects into multiple obsidian-like spikes starting from the outer ring and the center as each spike is 5 meters tall. Hopefully capturing both in inhuman speeds as Tsuki alters the spikes closer to her targets to at most immobilize them. Doing so means that their hands will be tightly pressed between spikes which leads to the possibility that their wrists sustained minor cuts if unprotected. Sandwiching their thighs, knees, and ankles to prevent movement. The caltrops underneath their feet doesn't turn into spikes however as Tsuki isn't out to skewer them. Altogether they can't very well move in general more than a couple of centimeters, and that's only to the head. Of course, if one of them moves faster than what Tsuki can predict then it's likely the spikes will end up skewering them. Alas the field of 25 meters square is a field of dark spikes as each emits an uncomfortable wave of heat.

"Shinobi doesn't fight with honor Yoshitsune. We fight with strategy and power. Everything else is either secondary or unnecessary. Want to have honor? I'm sure there's samurai in the Land of Iron that would take you, or what's left of them I suppose." Tsuki answers the loud one as Tsuki continues to walk up to them. Like she's got all of the time in the world. Once she's about to enter the field, the spikes will sink into the ground allowing Tsuki to safely pass.

Quarashibanzai watched as his partner whirled away the smoke with some kind of Fuuton technique. Is she actually calling out the name of the jutsu as she is doing it? Is she some kind of weeabo or something? The rain was putting out the fires and if the scene got any more dramatic he'd start to get nauseous.

“You cowardly dog! You rabble of goblins! To charge and attack an unsuspecting foe from behind shows you have no honor! Do you dare have the courage to challenge me for my head?”

“I am Yoshitsune Sojobo, Protector of the Tengu of Kumogakure! Surrender yourself now, Tsuki Tatsuda, lest I remove your head from your shoulders!”

"This is your idea of a plan Skiddy?" he shouted as the ground began to splinter with the beginnings of Efreet's Awakening. Fortunately, Q could see the woman she was shouting at and thus in the moments permitted to him, he'd fasten a bit of wire to a kunai, slap on an explosive tag and then toss it directly at the enemy. If the kunai hit the woman in the stomach as he was aiming to he'd be able to threaten to blow her to hell. Unfortunately, whatever she was doing with the ground was way too powerful for him to counter so he did the sensible thing: remain still and hope that he wasn't burnt to death from lava.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by Yoshitsune Mon Feb 17, 2020 6:05 pm

It seemed that she had missed the sign she was looking for, having thrown her bait out too late. Yoshi had been hoping that her little breeze would trigger a blasting of fire back from the woman, but it seemed like Tsuki had other plans. The orange veins coursing through the earth now and the cracks that appeared below them wasn’t something that Yoshi had failed to notice as they sprung forth into existence. They were fast. Oppressively fast, and having been expecting hand seals they would pass through her perception of the situation as blurs across the open ground. She panicked a little bit. The trigger would be pulled, even if she didn’t get the response she was looking for. A combination of what seemed like Earth and Fire would be too difficult to avoid on the ground anyway.

Chakra surged through her body. She flew up into the air just as the geysers of lava did, and with a similar momentum and speed, but with the surge of pure speed she had built into her system it would just appear as if she had disappeared from sight altogether. The idea had been to bait out some fire to light the passing typhoon and send it back at them, and then arc into the air to avoid it and then retaliate by slicing into her flesh with a blade. The fact that this plan likely resulted in an attack being baited at and sent towards Q was not lost on Yoshi, but it was the safest bet for her in that moment. She would adjust it for this situation. More than just a jump, she climbed into the air with her legs like running up a flight of stairs, with little platforms of wind appearing under each footstep. Being able to take to the air like this was convenient, especially with someone so capable of manipulating the terrain. It defied the methods of normal combat, when you suddenly had to think of the playing ground in three dimensions. As dumb as Yoshi might have been, this was something her mind was suited towards.

Her movement plan was the same. Up and then down in an arc. The glowing lava below her, while now too quick for her own eyes to be seeing as anything more than flickering red heat and light, would be avoided. She went over it, very far over, and then looped back down to the ground in an arch after she was clear of the heat. Although her feet would never touch the ground in full. She remained three meters above, and already outside of the range of the caltrops of this point it was more than enough.

She blitzed towards Tsuki, blade extended. Fuuton chakra would be channeled through the metal and extended out a meter from the tip of her blade. The blade would be swung with her right arm to slash in a straight line up across Tsuki’s body. She was aiming to separate her right arm and shoulder from her body, with her wind-enhanced blade hopefully being strong enough to achieve this, or at least cripple the arm if not. Whether she succeeded in disarming Tsuki or not, Yoshi would continue her pass by, not dropping her speed for a second.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by TsukiTatsuda Thu Feb 20, 2020 1:48 am

Tsuki's plan was mostly successful, as she ended up capturing one of the two. Albeit the lanky one threw a Kunai at Tsuki despite the distance. That will prove to be futile as lava showered from the geysers which will drop onto the explosive tag. Causing it to ignite and detonate prematurely into a 15 feet blast radius of shrapnel. Potentially shredding part of Yoshitsune's clothes. The problem was that Yoshitsune seemed to vanish, but Tsuki knew better than that. After all she saw the girl weaving handseals to blow the smoke away, and apparently something else that affects her speed. Still given Tsuki's experience, and how Yoshitsune was just baiting the Tatsuda about ambushing. Tsuki is willing to bet ryo, and an arm in this case that Yoshitsune will go for a frontal assault first.

Tsuki will continue to approach the field as her hands already poised from weaving the handseals, as Tsuki witnessed Yoshitsune disappeared the Tatsuda simply braced herself. Anticipating an attack, but unaware of where exactly the attack was coming from. So her muscles hardened through tension as it seemed like it was instantaneous. Tsuki couldn't even perceive where Yoshitsune came from other than something shattered Tsuki's right arm guard and sliced into her steel mail shirt on the right shoulder. Whether it was thanks to the armor or her bracing herself but Tsuki didn't sustain more than minor bruising due to her bracing herself. It caught her by surprise at that. However due to the ludicrous speed that Yoshitsune was moving to strike against the two layers of armor, that katana coming into physical contact with a large difference in being able to handle the backlash. Yoshitsune will suffer from the sudden knockback of her katana so either it flies out of her hands to the side or risk straining her arms and shoulder just to hold onto it as Yoshitsune passes by.

During this time, a secondary ring that's much closer to Q. This time a ring of lava forms via multiple geysers of lava erupt from the ground in a 5 meter radius. With Q at the center. As Tsuki continues to run forward, she creates an outer ring of lava at the edge of this 25 square meters. Simultaneously, multiple tendrils of molten rock emerge from the inner ring and weaving through the spikes like water all tendrils wrap and firmly squeeze Q. As each tendril wants to pull Q with great strength into the fiery pits, but Tsuki is controlling the tendrils to only restrain Q.

As Tsuki is moving instantly after Yoshitsune passed, she will weave a few more handseals together before causing a 20 square meter wall of molten rock in height and width to burst from the ground behind Tsuki. Exactly a meter away from the Tatsuda as this solid wall of black rock covered in red veins that emits an intense heat wave. Capable of igniting flammable materials just for being near it as this wall is 3 meters thick. This was to protect Tsuki's rear, and giving the timing it'll be enough Tsuki reckoned to put up the barrier in front of Yoshitsune as she turned around. Leading up to the possibility of slamming into the wall at her ludicrous speeds which might crack the wall if she maintained the speed. However lava will spill out from the cracks as temperature becomes increasingly hot. Capable of dealing major burns to the flesh and worse if the lava touches Yoshitsune. At the very least, it's a deterrence to buy Tsuki time to reach into her field. Into the embrace of her lava as it were.

If this girl really cares about this one, then perhaps Tsuki can strike negotiations. From this perimeter ring, multiple tendrils of molten rock slither out and moves at Tsuki's direction. However, these tendrils can only move 5 meters past their rings. So when Tsuki is at the 5 meter range (30 meters from Q) the tendrils will wrap and shield Tsuk into a balli as it lifts her over the ring. Spikes will sink into the ground as the cocoon of lava lowers onto the field. Where the tendrils will expand allowing Tsuki to walk out towards Q's direction.

Assuming this succeeds, more geysers of lava erupt haphazardly along Tsuki's path. Where tendrils of lava slither out of their pits to shroud Tsuki's body that moves with her. In her wake rows of spikes in volcanic glass extends 5 meters in the air in high speeds. Making it extremely difficult to pull that trick again.

Either way, Tsuki will begin the negotiations. It'll be a real test on how much Yoshitsune values Q's life, and how well their bond was formed.

"I'd like to cut a deal with you. Option 1, give me the relic and both of you can go on your merry way. Option 2, we can call it a truce for the time being. Whether you join alongside me, or wish to part ways is fine by me. So long as we have an understanding of not engaging into combat for the duration of this Survival test." Tsuki spoke out loud while under the protection of her lava bubble that constantly moves around her. The grip around Q's body tightens until it feels like Q's body is going to suffocate from the pressure. Just on the brink. Enough to send a message.

"Also do note if I drop this your friend will be waiting a few days before he can hope to get out. Safely that is."

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

    Post by Q Sun Feb 23, 2020 7:35 pm

Q cursed as he found himself being captured by the lava woman's accursed tendrils. The foul mouthed genin was simply outclassed as he had no answer to the Magma that was spewing all around him. He cursed loudly as the woman held him hostage. Q was a natural negotiator himself and he knew that if he played his cards right he could get out of this unscathed. He didn't care what happened to Yoshi. If the roles were reversed, he'd have gladly jeopardized the Hayami's well-being for his own.
While he struggled against his bonds he'd call out to Yoshi:

"Take the fucking deal Skiddy! Call it a draw and get me the hell out of here!" he shouted.

His ego had erased the fact that they had lost only because of his weakness and incompetence. His mind would not let him believe that he was the cause of their loss today.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by Yoshitsune Sun Feb 23, 2020 8:12 pm

The explosion of shrapnel would detonate in the distance as she ran towards Tsuki, and while Yoshi would not be directly be harmed from the blast her clothing would be. The first layer of the kimono she had been wearing would be torn to shreds just by being in proximity of the blast, and with the obi sash that had held it together being torn the entire outfit would fall off her from the incredible speeds she was moving at. Without it Yoshi would be in the nude, wearing only her geta sandals and hair accessories. The belt where she had been keeping her supplies, along with the baldric which held the sheath of her katana would remain on though, held tight by a sturdier material that escaped the maiming that her silk kimono did. It would leave her dressed very strangely, with only that belt and the strap of her baldric to hide her shameful bits. The tattered remains of her kimono would fly off in some direction, perhaps being salvageable later assuming it wouldn’t be set on fire by the lava or some other wayward attack.

She would lose her katana the moment after, having it fly out of her hand following the swing. It was barely noticeable that she had even lost it with the speed she was moving at. It was just there one moment and then gone the next, with her arm strained and stinging from the impact. There would be a bit of minorly torn skin on the inside of her hand and a few bruises throughout the muscles of her arm, but nothing too painful or debilitating. Without her katana though she could only assume that her plan of disarming her foe would have failed.

She would begin to turn once she noticed this, roughly a second and a half following the point of the attack. Despite her coordination with this speed, Yoshi was still unable to turn on a dime, and so she would curve out to the left in a tight semi-circle in order to perform another pass by. In the process of making this turn she would catch in her peripheral vision a massive blur rising from the ground, of a dark-brown color. It sort of looked like a big turd, or at least that was the best that Yoshi could make of it in the limited time that she had of noticing it. It would change her course slightly upon noticing this, and she would raise up another several meters into the air and prepare to encircle Tsuki until an opportunity to strike rose.

Q’s capture threw a wrench in her plan. She only noticed it when Tsuki began speaking, and the action would cause Yoshi to hit the breaks. It would take a while for her to decelerate, and as she slowed in speed and gradually released the hold that Swift Release had on her body, those who watched would see a gradually slowing skin-tone blur circling around Tsuki. She would take care to not crash into the blurry things she saw of various colors, avoiding them in general. Once Yoshi could see again she would slowly skid to a stop, lowering until she hit the ground once again, and then she would access the situation.

“A truce?” She would muse aloud, thinking about it for a second. She wasn’t really sure how much she valued Q’s life. She would think for a few moments, and then address Tsuki again when she came to a conclusion.

“You’re pretty strong, Tsuki. I’ve heard a few things about you, and you’re even more impressive in person. My name is Yoshitsune, by the way. I’m another genin from Kumogakure.” The fact that she was doing all this negotiating while stark naked was something she seemed to be oblivious to. “It seems like we’ve run into the same problem though. Based on the screaming we all heard earlier I’m assuming your partner is well… They may have died. There’s no way to know for sure right now, but if they haven’t come to back you up yet I can only guess that they’re not going to. That means you’re alone. Even if we do call a truce, you’d be at a disadvantage by yourself in the next few days.”

“Meanwhile, my partner is…” She would glance over to Q. Yoshi felt as though she almost didn’t need to say what she was thinking, and instead she would only let out a small laugh. “He’s well… Sort of pathetic. Not very smart or strong. With all that singing that drew you to us in the first place… How about we forget about him, and the two of us team up together? I have my team’s relic in my belt pouch. I assume you have yours. Together, I’m sure the two of us could beat any team in the exams.”

She would wait for Tsuki’s reaction, but at the same time the naked girl would hold out a hand, offering a shake for either a truce or partnership.

    Shikuchi toggled off.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by TsukiTatsuda Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:04 pm

In the combination that Q is shouting for someone named Skiddy to get him out and Yoshitsune halting her actions. Tsuki was relatively surprised on the turn of events. She can sense that there wasn't any communication to each other. Yoshitsune came out of her invisibility state, or at least whatever was messing with Tsuki's ability to track is gone. However, Tsuki wasn't expecting Yoshitsune to be almost completely naked. Only thing the girl has on is a belt and the baldric. It actually made Tsuki blush, but Tsuki's brow raised when Yoshitsune spoke of how she's been heard of. Tsuki crossed her arms as she listens.

"Sound like he's been a piece of work…" Tsuki spoke in response to Yoshitsune talking about Q. To which Tsuki will take a couple of steps towards Yoshitsune before looking directly at Q. Her arms under her bosom as magma continues to spiral around her like a sphere. Most notably were the molten gold eyes of hers. Then Tsuki will look back at Yoshitsune with a smile on her face. The magma parts away to reveal the front of her body as Tsuki extends her right hand to shake Yoshitsune's hand.

"I wouldn't mind the company, and your skills are quite valuable. If you don't mind however, I would like to check on my partner. At least to make sure he's still breathing." Tsuki accepts the partnership while shaking Yoshitsune's hand. Assuming her small request goes through, Tsuki will turn back to Q and leisurely walk towards him. Her grip into the technique is firm as the ground seems to level with each step in front of her. Forming a small path to Q, as she was building up pressure if there was any and it gave Tsuki some time to collect her thoughts. Even a tendril of magma forming a bridge of sorts for Tsuki to walk across the inner ring. Tsuki will maintain the grip she has over on Q as Tsuki keeps her arms crossed again. Making direct eye contact as she manipulates the magma to make Q's knees buckle and practically force him to kneel. Tsuki will lean over and she isn't smiling. Just a stern stare as she finally asks him.

"Can you tell me what you did wrong here?" As Tsuki asks this question, the huge slab of volcanic rock that Tsuki made appear to deter Yoshitsune crumbles as lava spills out a good meter. The air seems to hiss repeatedly from the drizzling rain. Yet the lava persists as Tsuki continues to flow the lava in a circulation. To keep it moving which makes the ground through the cracked veins like everything underneath is constantly moving, constantly shifting. It's a bit eerie when thinking about it.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

    Post by Q Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:18 pm

"Fuck" Qu whispered aloud when Yoshitsune confirmed that they were from the same village. He thought he had heard it her mention something about that a little while back but either he was imagining it or he had let himself forget in the chaos of the situation. He didn't like where this was going. He listened carefully as Skiddy explained the situation and while he liked what he was hearing he sensed a counter-offer that he wasn't going to like. When the speedster dropped the bomb, Q stared with his mouth open. The kid was in awe and disgust of his formerly demurr partner. He had thought her mentally weak and easily bullied but it was all just a show. She was as Machevillian and devious as he was. She called him pathetic, weak, and stupid. The worst part was: it was all true. He had no way of refuting her words with a logical or rational argument. He had tried to fight through this portion with bluster and extreme confidence but it was all for show. He was as useless here as he was back at the academy. Mediocre brains and zero brawn. Facing the horror of the truth, Q lashed out to protect himself from it.

"You disloyal bitch! Skiddy! Ay yo! Skiddy!...." he began shouting. "THIS ISN'T FUCKING FUNNY! You better not betray me! That's an order! You dumb broad, don't you realize that we're partners?! You won't pass with someone else you fucking IDIOT! DON'T YOU DARE! I SWEAR I'LL KILL YOU IF YOU LEAVE ME HERE!"

He fought against his bonds but to no avail. It sounded like Tsuki was going to accept her proposition but she said she'd check on her partner. The fool who had gotten himself blasted to Kingdom Come. It hurt that she was willing to look out for her partner while Yoshi saw him as chopped liver. When Tsuki got close to him and asked him what he did wrong. He spat in her face and replied:

"I should have cut her throat the moment I saw her. Leave it to this retarded village to pair me with the second ugliest gold-digger in Kumo"

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by Yoshitsune Sun Feb 23, 2020 9:46 pm

Yoshitsune would smile as she shook hands with Tsuki. She could already tell that this would be a much preferable partnership than the one she had just had. Although it hadn’t lasted long with Q, with the two of them being together for less than twenty four hours before it ended up like this. Once she released her hand from the shake Yoshi would take a step back, sighing and stretching out her somewhat bruised red arm. It still stung. She would look around, searching for her katana. “He has been a piece of work, although I’m glad now that I won’t have to deal with him anymore… It’s a weight off my shoulders, honestly. Feel free to check on your partner too. I don’t mind, although don’t blame me if he’s no longer alive.”

She would watch to see what Tsuki planned on doing, turning back to watch what happened with Q. Given what Yoshi had suggested she sort of expected Tsuki to just leave him be, but it seemed that with all the screaming he was doing now Tsuki had other plans. Yoshi herself agreed, and had half a mind to do something herself, but it seemed as though she wouldn’t have to.

She would just sigh at the threats and screaming from Q. “You see what I mean, right?”

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by TsukiTatsuda Sun Feb 23, 2020 10:40 pm

A sigh of disappointment as Tsuki flinched from Q spitting at her face. Turning her face in time for it to hit her left cheek. Tsuki straightens up as she reaches up to wipe away the saliva with the back of her right hand. A ping of anger welling up inside of her at the insults, and perhaps Yoshitsune didn't care. However one thing Tsuki does not tolerate is insults when she's just trying to help them. Especially a spit on the face.

"Wrong answer." Tsuki spoke in a grim tone as she throws a strong right fist of fury against the left cheek of Q's face.

"That's for spitting at me." Anger swells within Tsuki as she swings a left hook that'll collide the other cheek of Q's face. Both strikes would be satisfying in its own way as Tsuki's locks stick to her skin from the rain drenching her clothes and hair.

"That's for throwing insults to Yoshitsune." A portion of magma at Q's waist and groin moves away to expose. The rest of Q is still being held by the magma. Then Tsuki rears back her left foot before she swings her leg for a lateral kick against Q's crotch. Assuming this attacks go unprecedented, Tsuki will take a moment to pace around in front of Q.

"You can pin the blame on someone else all you want. It's just easier for humans to pin the blame on everyone except for themselves. However, let me tell you something you already know…" Tsuki stops to turn on her heel and glares down at Q.

"Life isn't sunshine and rainbows. Nobody, neither me, her, you, or anyone else is gonna hit harder than life. It's not how much you can take before you break, it's how much you can take and still keep going. You failed here because of your inability to lead. You failed to improve morality and gain to maintain your partner's trust. And most of all you've failed yourself." A sigh escapes from her lips as Tsuki slowly turned away and took a couple of steps forward. Without looking back, Tsuki will leave a final piece of advice.

"Tactic-wise, you made the correct decision. However you forgot that you were in a team. But don't cry to give up, cry to keep going. I hope you learn from this, because if not then you'll be left alone in this world for your entire life." Tsuki looks up at the cloudy sky as rain falls against her skin. It was honestly pleasant. Wondering if the Phoenix was looking down, watching this turn of events.

"The rain feels nice, but sadly we don't have time to share pleasantries." On that note, Tsuki pivots her body around to face Q before launching herself at Q's position. Building the momentum and strength behind her as Tsuki raises her leg for a roundhouse kick against Q's jaw from the side. As it was an attempt to knockout Q in a rough manner.

Assuming once that was successfully done, Tsuki will turn towards Yoshitsune. Trying to muster up at least a small smile. "I see it, but it's due to either his family's fault if he has any. Or just his upbringing held bad influences that drove him down this path. He wasn't made like this overnight afterall." Tsuki explained as she begins to walk outside of the rings of lava. Permitting Yoshitsune passage over the lava if need be and clearing a path for her as well from the spikes.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

"Shove it up your mother's cu-" Q's face rocketed to the side as he was struck by Tsuki's fist. It wasn't a bad shot for a girl. The lad didn't have the opportunity to respond as he was stuck again. Q's head hung limply as pain radiated through his skull. He'd remember this woman, and when the time came he'd make her pay. He thought she was finished but before he could make another smart alec response, she had kicked him in the balls. Q roared in pain as he contorted against his bounds.

"YOU FUCKING DIRTBAG! YOU DON'T HIT A MAN IN HIS BALLS!"

Q twisted his legs as he nursed his groin. He rocked back and forth with tears in his eyes as he fought to keep his wits about him. If his partner was abandoning him, he couldn't afford to lose another day. Tsuki began to lecture him but he wasn't even listening to her words. It was all a faint echo and the only reply he could muster was a mouthed: "Fuck you". Q didn't even see the roundhouse kick coming but he did feel it. He saw stars and his vision grew blurry. The young man had already been beaten up in the first round but this was a new level of pain. He spat blood and hung his head down as he writhed in silent pain. If she had tried to knock him unconscious she had failed. He was in excruciating pain and he wasn't really able to move much or even think but he was still awake. He grit his teeth and waited for the ringing and pounding in his head to cease.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by Yoshitsune Mon Feb 24, 2020 7:48 am

As Tsuki cleared a path through the lava and allowed her to pass through the spines, she would approach Q as well. In the position he was in she couldn’t help but feel a little bit sorry for him, but that sense of pity wasn’t going to stop her from doing this. She would shift a bit awkwardly as the boy writhed in pain, avoiding off to the side so that he hopefully wouldn’t spit on her, blood or otherwise.

She would snake her hand up, reaching into Q’s jacket. The relic piece, which she had incorrectly referred to as being in her belt pouch, would actually be located in here. After a bit of fishing around she would retrieve it, pulling it back and then placing it into her belt pouch for safe keeping.

“You’re the sorriest genin I’ve ever seen in my life.” She would say, echoing exactly what Q had first said to her when they met outside the forest. “You mentioned abandoning me and letting the wolves tear me to pieces before, but… I’m sorry, it looks now like that’s what’s going to be happening to you.”

The next thing she would reach for would be his belt pouch, assuming he had one. If not she would search around inside his jacket. Rather than just his relic piece, she would just start stripping him entirely of his gear. Every kunai, papertag, and any other piece of shinobi equipment would be plucked clean off him, alongside his katana and any ryo he might have had, all of which she would redistribute to herself.

“The rules say no looting enemies, but you’re my teammate. Pretty clever loophole abuse, right?” She would smile at him as she finished. It was a bit of a cruel thing to do, but it would only increase her chances and reduce his going forward. “Sorry! I can’t have you coming back to bite me later on here. If you manage to find me ever after the exams are over, I’ll return this all to you. Don't worry though. When I end up getting another relic you'll end up passing this round of the exams anyway, without even having to lift a finger. So really, you can thank me later.”

Once she had picked him clean she would return to Tsuki, who would presumably either want to continue the beating until his morale improved or just get a move on.

“Just leave him here stuck in this stone. I doubt he’ll be able to get out of it by himself.”

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by TsukiTatsuda Tue Feb 25, 2020 1:09 pm

His reaction to the hits was satisfactory to Tsuki. Afterall she hasn't raised a hand save for the restraints until now.

"And you don't insult our village or our shinobi. I say we're even now." Tsuki responded to Q's protests after the crotch kick. Sadly her roundhouse kick did not yield the desired results, but frankly with the swollen face and discoloration where Tsuki struck him. She can safely assume that he's not going to do any funny business.

Now Yoshitsune however, she came over at Q's flank and reaches into the man's jacket to retrieve what Tsuki recognized as a relic. Then Yoshitsune proceeded to loot everything else that can be used as weapons and tools. Tsuki is aware of the rules, but the rules technically say that they cannot loot enemy teams. So there was a clever loophole. After they crossed over the two rings, Yoshitsune even suggested to leave him in that rock.

"Problem with that is the lava flowing inside the rock. Would be a nuisance if he melted from my technique." Tsuki stated as she manipulates the binding that's on Q to unravel itself and slither back into their pools before she drops her concentration. The spikes are still present around Q, but otherwise he's no longer restrained. Afterwards Tsuki will try to locate Irui albeit this will take some time of searching. Especially since she doesn't really know where that combination of blast and fire sent the boy. Other than just a rough general area that Tsuki last saw Irui.

However, Tsuki realized that he wasn't anywhere in the jungle. Tsuki wondered if he got blasted over the perimeter, but that should be impossible since they're roughly a kilometer into the jungle. Unless the wave really carried him that far.

"Seems that technique of yours sent him flying over the jungle. Otherwise I don't think we're gonna find him here." Unless Yoshitsune has some uncanny senses to track down a person. Tsuki will suggest leaving the area to see if they can find a point of interest. Mayhaps they can locate a relic, although now they need two relics.

    [Attempted Exit]

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

Post by Yoshitsune Thu Feb 27, 2020 10:24 pm

Yoshi would sigh. In a sense she was better off than when she had come in, but at the same time this was just another burden. She almost wished that Q could have been less of dead weight, or maybe that she just hadn’t been paired with him in the first place. Tsuki was strong and great to be around, but the fact that they weren’t legitimate teammates would make it difficult going forward. It would be hard to handle if they got to the end of this and they didn’t find enough relics for the both of them. There would have to be some sort of negotiations made over who was allowed to take the other’s relic and pass the exams. That was a bridge that Yoshi would cross when she got to it, but she really wasn’t looking forward to it. Hopefully things would just work out fine, and she wouldn’t have to struggle any further with these awkward situations. She just wanted a good fight, and none of this dramatic stuff with personality conflicts or negotiations.

“Well… Hopefully we will never meet each other again.” She would give a small wave over to Q before she left with Tsuki. Unlocking him from his bindings was something of a dumb idea from her perspective, but Yoshi wasn’t the one controlling the lava, so she had no say in the matter.

She would take off with her new partner, allowing Tsuki to lead.

Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi) Empty Re: Under the Canopy (Q/Yoshi)

    Post by Q Mon Mar 02, 2020 12:46 am

Q tried to pick his head up and reply to Yoshitsune's taunt. She had used the exact same words he had slung against her. Now she was redeploying them against him with a level of smugness that he didn't think she was capable of. He had miscalculated on multiple fronts. Q felt as Yoshi took away the relic and his supplies. Everything he owned, all his money and gear were now in the hands of this wretch of a woman. She cited a creative interpretation of the rules to justify her criminal act. The savage debater spat blood and tried to protest but he was too weak to do so. He managed something close to a grunt before hanging his head in pain and weakness.

She said she'd give it back to him after the exams were over but that would only destroy what was left of his ego. The next time he saw Yoshitsune, he'd kill her. He made himself a promise to never be caught so off-guard ever again. These shinobi were strong, but they weren't as tenth as smart as him. Brains beats brawn.... he thought as they released him and left him to rot. The boy shut his eyes and willed himself not to cry. He was alone, humiliated, and defeated once more. The pain was too much and a few tears escaped. He roughly wiped them away and lay on the ground for another hour.

He'd remember this moment. For the rest of his life, he'd hold onto it and he'd use it to justify terrible things.

Eventually, he'd rise. The young man dusted himself off and limped out of the area. He was out of allies and ideas but that didn't mean he was going to quit.
