Fast Delivery! Competition!

Yoko was waiting at the branch office of the postal service, waiting for her partner to arrive. She was extra early today, mostly because of who it was. She wanted to be a bit more useful this time around, instead of just getting lunch. She hadn't gone inside yet, and could hear how frantic they were, yet didn't bother to go in to offer her help yet. She worked with a team, the actual work didn't matter to her.

Whenever Shinso did arrive, she would wave to him with one of her many arms, and call out, "Hey there. Its gonna be a busy day, I hope you stretched." She pushed off from the wall she was leaning against, and walked over to him, a fist out to bump his own if he amused her. "They sound really busy, so today is gonna be a workout, I feel."

When Shinso imagined doing something a bit more glorious for a mission, he wanted more of a serious step up... he wasn't imagining bandits, since he's still a Genin and couldn't be considered battle-ready in some eyes but he wasn't weak to the point that he had to be given these sorts of missions either. Still, he didn't want to deny the mission given to him and it would not only look bad on him, but on his clan if he were to outright refuse this mission. The one thing he is thankful for that it's at least a bit better than cleaning the Hokage's rock, even with his willingness to do it in the mission, he felt like that job could've been handled by someone that's not a ninja.

This sort of work felt like it would actually contribute to Konoha... hopefully. He didn't exactly see delivering mail as glorious work, but it did help keep Konoha functioning in it's own, weak way to keeping the village functional. When he came close to the office, he saw the wave and the offered fist bump, with a bit of reluctance, Shinso gently bumped his fist into hers. "Seems so." he lightly responded back.

Shinso led the way, opening the door and there were a number of people at their desks, being constantly busy while one particular person stood up, grabbing a pile and quickly rushed on over to the duo. "You're the Genin delivering these mails, yes? take them and go quick." without any explanation or introduction, he just passed it along to Shinso and rushed on back to his desk. Shinso shrugged, but he guessed he got their fair share. A massive pile is on Shinso's arm at the moment, full of letters. He headed back outside and if she's willing, would share some of the pile with Yoko to help the load on him.

Yoko would follow him inside, and get only a brief look around, before they were shoved back outside, Shinso holding a bunch of packages. She blinked a moment, then would just start taking packages off of his huge pile.

"Ok, so... I'll meet you back here, I guess?" She idly began looking at the addresses of the packages she had, frowning a bit as they seemed to be all over the village. She further divided the packages between her many arms, trying to make some sense out of their placement, putting those with similar addresses together, while those with different ones in other arms.

Shinso tried to do a similar thing, as soon as she grabbed her fair share, he tried to sort them out with the addresses closest to each other, from what he knew anyway. He knew his fair bit of the layout on Konohagakure, but he didn't know every single part or address and that would make him suffer a bit for this mission... still, it shouldn't be too difficult. He normally wouldn't suggest this, but he's of the same mind that delivering this mails can be so menial. It might be best to make this a bit more exciting. "How about... last one to get back here has to buy lunch for both of us?" that would be something to look forward to. Shinso would want to win it to prove his capability, Yoko might want to win it for the free lunch, a win win really to get them both motivated.

Shinso wouldn't waste any time afterwards, as soon as he got Yoko's okay on the challenge, he already ran off towards his first address, even the closest one was a fair distance away but hopefully, it'll get easier on him as he starts delivering this letters one by one.

Yoko grinned at the idea of a competition, and let out a short bark of a laugh, before proclaiming, "Your on!" and began running right away. She recalled passing one ot the very streets she had packages to deliver to, and headed in that direction.

Once there, however, she found that she had letters and packages to deliver in both directions on the street. She groaned, feeling she had no time to count which side had more, and just chose a side and ran.

She ended up eraticly running up and down the street on that side, delivering packages and letters door to door, or in designated mailboxes. If nothing else, it was certainly a workout.

As soon as Shinso finally reached his long destination, he wasted no time delivering the letters as it got a bit easier on him, going from one door to another. When he delivered all the letters at that section of the district, he moved onto the next one, trying to deliver all the letters that have to be delivered in one block in one go and repeating the same step at each part of the district he goes to.

There were a few obstacles, crowds, uncertainty of where to place the mail at either the door or if there's some sort of mailbox, but he knew that Yoko got her fair share of the letters to deliver and she must be dealing with her own struggles in doing this mission, which gave him a boost of confidence and he only continued to speed it up as he went along, getting used to how delivering these sorts of mails go.

Running around, she was getting into it, holding onto the many packages and bundles of letters, fishing for the right ones one at a time, shoving them in mailboxes, under doors or wherever seemed good.

She was lucky not to have as many crowds, but she knew there would be other things in her way, including animals who didn't want her there, with more than a few dogs chasing her, even down the road. Thankfully she didn't drop anything, except a few loud curse words.

Down the other end of the street, she found more crowds and businesses, which is where a majority of her packages ended up. Restaurants, law offices, even the odd smithy here and there, everyone had something, sometimes several something's. Through the running and delivering, she could feel the sweat running down her back, but she was grinning either way. This boring mission was starting to feel fun, not because it being a mission, but because of the competition they agreed to. It was a good motivational idea.

Shinso was only slow at first due to the repetition of delivering these letters with all the obstacles he came across but after delivering each letter, he got the hang of it very easily and there wasn't any change in the environment of how he delivered them. His pile of letters only got shorter and shorter as he grew more adaptable to this task, and by the time his hand was empty of any letters. He quickly looked at his hand and started to rush his way back towards the office.

He had no idea if Yoko had finished the goal similarly, or if she's still doing her side of the mission but he wasn't planning to find out, if he found Yoko at the office then that would be that. Otherwise, he would win and get the satisfaction of winning. Either way, it was interesting delivering these letters, he found it better than cleaning the hokage's rock.

Upon dropping off the last of the mail, a large envelope for some accounting office (of which she couldn't help feeling glad she didn't work there), she realized she was done, and turned to sprint away.

She made a mad dash back to the office, wanting that free meal and bragging rights for the afternoon. Like most of her clan, she liked to rub it in when she won at something. It wasn't spiteful, just felt good to win.

Even though it felt like Shinso was in the lead, it didn't turn out to be the case as when he finally made it back to the post office, he already found Yoko at the door. All though it made him feel a little bitter for losing, it wasn't too bad considering she's an ally of the Uchiha and someone that he knows, instead of a random person, with clans like theirs, he wouldn't expect any less in their performance. He was hopefully close to winning at least, and not by a great distance to it.

Regardless, he'd uphold his word and get lunch for the both of them. "I suppose the job's done then, where do you want to go?" he has some ryo to spend, but hopefully she won't abuse the courtesy of a free lunch... which has him slightly worried, since he saw how much she tended to eat before.

As soon as Yoko emptied her hands, she blinked, and grinned, before turning around, the customer mid question as she ran off, not paying them any more mind now that her load was empty and she was technically free to leave. This did not sit well with the individual, but what could they do at this point?

She made a mad dash back to the post office, hoping she could best the Uchiha in this small thing. Sure, it meant little in the long run, but right now? It would just feel great to win, to show that she wasn't going to fall behind.

No sooner had she rounded the corner did she see him on the other side, seeming to be further down, and she made the dash to the office, skidding to a stop, with him maybe ten feet away still. She grinned as she made the short distance between them, and he consented. She laughed heartily, and began leading the way to her favorite bbq restaurant. She would go easy on him this time, but she wasn't going to let him forget either.
