Merchant's Son - Being the son of a merchant has granted Marx a rather flattering silver tongue, enabling him to talk circles around people, this ability only being enhanced by his large intellect. This truly shines when bartering, resulting in the prices for Materials being halved no matter what he buys.
The Greatest Minds - In order to nurture his intellect, Marx's parent hired the best tutors their money could afford in order to train him. He was schooled in all that one needed to know to be successful as an average person and so much more, as such Marx starts off with an extra 750 EXP for his own usage. Due to this extra knowledge, Marx is more than a bit of a know-it-all, making him harder to teach which translates into 50% of his EXP being taken until a total of 1,125 EXP has been paid.
Appearance: Marx is a prodigious youth that stands slightly shorter than the aerage for a male his age, at 5'4", though he shows no signs of growing any time soon. His physique is more on the slender side, bearing little amounts of muscle and appearing to be rather fragile. His hair is as black as a raven's feathers, while his eyes are a shimmering crimson coloration, a color some would take as a sign of ill omen. His eyes often bear a look of boredom or disappointment, as though he had high expectations of whatever he is looking at, and said thing has systematically failed to meet any of them. His face is set into a similar expression, as is his posture, granting an overall air of aloofness. His skin is a pale porcelain-like color, making him look like all the more like a fragile doll that can be broken with the roughest touch.
Marx's sense of fashion varies a great deal, as he has been raised by a merchant and thus has gotten used to the finer things in life. From silks and fine furs to cotton blends and jeans, Marx will wear just about anything that catches his fancy. His outfit choices are usually monotone or simple when it comes to color choices, with blacks, whites and greys making the biggest appearances, while reds feature every once in a blue moon. Marx favors things that would be considered overly feminine, or for the fairer sex. He wears make-up infrequently, hints of blush and concealer if he has a blemish, eyeliner and eyeshadow when he feels like applying them. He has his nails constantly painted as well, either black or red, possibly combinations of both in different designs. He also wears a pair of black framed glasses when he is working on his puppets, tools or seals, though he rarely wears them otherwise.

History: Born to two up and coming merchants within the Land of Earth, one from Iwakagure and the other from the illustrious Kaifeng no Kuni, meaning that he grew up wanting for nothing. He was given whatever toys he wished, whatever clothes he thought looked best and truly...anything. He had the best tutors money could buy to nurture is large intellect, and he was introduced to many exotic items and concepts due to his parent's traveling and what they brought back from their journeys. It was through one of these journeys that Marx was introduced to the wonders of puppetry, as his mother brought back a small toy puppet. From there he wanted to learn all things about craftsman ship and manipulating puppets so he could make more of the interesting contraptions. It was after this that he decided he wanted to enter the Ninja Academy, to learn all he could about the Ninja art of Kugutsu.
Marx entered the Academy and completed within a short six months of training, due to his prodigious talent and the ease of which he mastered the usage of everything they taught. Truthfully, the instructors therein didn't believe one could learn everything so quickly, so they administered a test for Marx to take in order to prove he had actually learned what he claimed to have learned. He passed with flying colors, of course, and advanced to Genin without a hitch. He had been eleven, then, and spent most of the next five years perfecting his puppet making for a number of things he wished to do in the future. He rarely spent time with his sensei, other than to learn Ijutsu from her. During the missions, he also picked up a liking for ninja tools from one of his teammates, realizing their use both in puppet making and in normal combat. He wanted to expand far beyond what the other was doing, however, and resolved to not only make the world's best puppets, but also amass the largest collection of ninja tools and become a master of Bukijutsu. He only recently graduated to the rank of Chunin, thanks to his sensei giving the Tsuchikage a glowing recommendation, despite hardly ever seeing her student. Outside the increase in rank, nothing much has changed between Chunin Marx and Genin Marx, as he still focuses on his puppets more than anything.
Personality: Marx is rather aloof and pompous, believing himself to be better than most. Then again, how many people could say that their family held an extensive fortune and trading empire? Not many. He was one of the few, and he knew that very well indeed. Due to this, he is fairly straightforward. He doesn't lie much, making him dreadfully honest even when the situation might not call for it. In his mind, lying is way too much work unless whatever he is lying about is extremely important, so most of the time he just doesn't bother. This can lead to the hurt feelings of others, but most of the time he couldn't care less. He is a bit prejudice against anyone who isn't a from Iwagakure, as well as those who are apart of the lower classes. He views most from Konohagakure as sentimental fools, those from Kirigakure as bloodthirsty brutes, those from Sunagakure as disfunctional recluses and those from Kumogakure as, well, idiots. These are however stereotypes he has come to learn from his parents, and his mind can be changed if a person takes the time to try and change it. His dislike for the "lower class" refers not only to the financial lower class, but those who are of a lower rank than him as well, treating most as servants to be ordered about.
Born from his belief that he is better than most, Marx has a terrible time remembering names. He often refers to people by generic terms, such as "miss", "sir" or other things along those lines. For those he must come in contact with regularly, he comes up with nicknames in order to make it easier on himself when referring to them. He also has a rather difficult time following orders and rules, with the only people being capable of getting him to do something with little resistance being those of extremely high rank, such as the Kage of his village and possibly the Kage of others. Speaking of, he has more than a bit of a mischievous rebellious streak, pointedly ignoring warnings, suggestions and "commands" from others or at least taking them into account on his own time. Even those who are higher ranked don't get respite from this, being the subject of the worst of Marx's insubordination. Marx is, at his core, a rather lazy man. He doesn't like working when he doesn't have to, and he will avoid going out of his way to help people when he can. If he is given an important task, when left to his own devices he will put it off until he absolutely cannot anymore. He does anything other than what he is supposed to be doing, such as taking a nap or simply working in his workshop, his attention easily wandering from one thing to the next until he is forced to do whatever was assigned to him. Due to his laziness, Marx severely dislikes having to lead people and most of the time his own team is left to their own devices, being fully capable of carrying out their duties without instruction from their him if he is placed in charge.
Marx attempts to keep him emotions under control at all times, keeping up a mask of calm serenity or at least detached indifference. However, that doesn't mean they don't boil over. When he gets angry, his eyes darken from their usual shade of red to something darker and more foreboding. When he is happy or excited, his lips will twitch ever so lightly upwards into a smile. While he is adept at hiding his emotions, he still feels them. Such as the intense "fondness" he possesses for men, the fondness that he doesn't want to allow to bubble to his surface, lest he be judged for it. Or the fear, the fear that he is not strong enough to actually be a shinobi. The fear that he will die on one mission or another, or that he will lose someone he holds dear. When his emotions are roiling, he finds his solace in the one thing that he will admit that he loves out loud: puppets. He loves tinkering with them, pulling them apart and putting them back together. Making them better and all the more dangerous. His love for puppets also extends towards tools and weaponry, as they can be incorporated into the framework of a puppet with ease.

- Marx was in his workshop, as per usual, working on a new set of puppets. He had written down earlier all of the things he would need for the first few puppet collections he was going to make. He couldn't wait to get started on making them, but first he needed to perfect the creation of smaller and simpler ideas, which is what lead him to today. At the moment, he was working on a small set of spider-like puppets that would be more like toys and wouldn't possess much combat viability, though he could have them perform little parlor tricks, like setting small fires or letting out bit of smoke. In was in that moment that he got another idea, one that would not only allow him to get the experience he thought he needed, but also benefit others as well. He gave a small smile as he thought of it and set to work.
He finished his little project within two or so hours and left his house dressed in a plain t-shirt, some jeans, combat boots and his favorite jacket. He pulled up his hood and cast his face slightly in shadow, making his way from his house down the street. He made his way to the nearest hospital with a children's ward, making his way inside and sneaking quickly by the front desk. He made his way to the children's wing and set down the box full of his creations on a desk before quickly out. The nurse that had left her desk to check on a child came back and looked in the box that defnitely hadn't been there when she left. Within it, there were pretty little toy butterflies and soldiers, mice and some dancers as well. She picked up the a note she saw on one of the toys and read it: "'Turn the keys five times.' She looked for more, but she found nothing. She picked up one of the toys, a little sprite, and turned the key on its back five times as instructed. Once that was done, the sprite began to move its limbs and flap its wing while giving off the most beautiful music. She smiled and picked up the box before walking around to each of the children's rooms, handing out the toys and the instructions for activating them. Marx smiles as the thought of the children enjoying the toys came to his mind. While he usually looked down on those less well off than himself, he did have a certain weak spot for children, especially sick children. He continued on his walk back to his workshop to continue his puppet creation.
