Kitsuki peered through a telescope from the bow of the ship. She scanned the horizon looking for threats as she considered her place on this ship and what it meant for the War between Seas and its neighbors. When Kitsuki had heard that an inhumane and evil blockade had been put in place to starve the people of Seas, she signed up for this mission right away. She didn't believe in smuggling or breaking the law, but extraordinary times called for extraordinary measures. She had heard rumors that the Land of Sea had wrote this mission with unclean hands. She had heard that while their people did in fact need food and medicine, they were also planning to smuggle in dangerous biological agents and chemical solutions so that they could weaponize this new plague.
Kitsuki had asked to inspect the cargo but the ship's captain had categorically refused. That made her uneasy. She didn't like being used. If there was even a 1% chance that the Sea was using this Care Cargo as an oppurtunity to add further instability to the ninja world, she had half a mind to take an evacuation boat and leave. Unfortunately, it wasn't that simple. Regardless of the Land of Sea's machinations there were starving people that needed her help. The Carmine Collective had made it clear that they would make no exceptions for humanitarian aid. Kit sighed. Sometimes you just had to make compromises.
She was about to put away her telescope when she spotted something far off in the distance. Another ship and there was someone on it...
"Here we go" she said with a breath of anticipation.
