Mission 6 (Tamwyn) Empty Mission 6 (Tamwyn)

    Escort: The Takoyaiba Mountain Range
    Mission Rank: C
    Mission Type: Patrol, Scouting, Escort
Mission Goal: Find the Caravan, Escort them through the village towards clan district, return party towards Takoyaiba Mountain Range
Mission Description:: A supply of gems and jewels are being shipped in from Iwagakure from the clan of Korikane towards the Ïnazüma as a diplomatic exchange for Kumogakure. Escort the caravan safely into the village from the Mountain Ranges of the Takoyaiba. Beware of poachers, bandits, caravan thugs and thieves.
    Payment: 15,000
    Requirements: Chunnin±, Inazuma

Yenn had received a special mission as an Inazuma clan member. There was a shipment of gems coming in from the Korikane Clan and they were supposed to escort the caravan safely to her Clan’s district. Seemed simple enough, but she couldn’t fathom how this was diplomacy. This was part of why she hated being the clan leader, she was somehow expected to know how a cart full of rocks strengthened relations between the two clans villages. They were at least supposed to be shiny rocks, so there was that. First though they had to find the caravan, which ought to prove to be hilarious. Finding a caravan in the mountains would either be really, really easy, or they’d find it in pieces.

Scouting through the wilderness was actually her specialty and so she would take the lead, heading to the only spot she knew of that was large enough to support a caravan. As luck would have it the wagons in the caravan were not missing their wheels and at the bottom of a cliff. She didn’t know too much about Iwagakure, but if she had she would have felt silly assuming they would have difficulty navigating the mountains. There were two covered wagons and a myriad of other travellers, some on foot and others on horses. Walking up to the lead wagon she would wave it down getting it to stop. No one had instructed her on how this part was supposed to go so she did as she always did and awkwardly greeted the two men sitting at the front of the wagon. “Um, hello. We’re here to escort you back to the village. I’m Yenn. Yenn Inazuma. I hope your trip was alright?” She felt like she’d slept through the vast majority of her academy training, that or Kumogakure didn’t have a Diplomacy 101 course.

Tamwyn was moving with Yenn, providing back up in case anything untoward occurred while she was meeting up with the caravan. She was the Inazuma representative on this mission and as such was the one in charge of it. Something that Tamwyn didn’t mind one little bit. He wanted her to take charge on more of the missions. To help coax her out of her shell of social insecurities. Although he would gladly take charge of a situation if she simply wasn’t comfortable. This time however there simply wasn’t a choice in the matter. It was an Inazuma clan matter and that meant she had to be the one in charge of it. Tamwyn just got to be the good looking back up this time. Usually that was Yenn’s position. This time she was the drop dead gorgeous leader. Which was where he was usually, but enough kidding around.

They would find the caravan in the mountains, some people traveling on foot and others on horseback. The ones on horseback seemed to the guards from Iwagakure side of things and would be turning around now that they had arrived. The individuals on foot were in charge of actually moving the caravan and ensuring things continued to go smoothly with the wagons and other such matters. Tamwyn simply stayed near Yenn, looked tall and imposing, and more importantly, kept his sensory active to search for potential danger in the nearby mountainous terrain. They hadn’t seen anyone while they traveled but that didn’t mean they weren’t there. The mountain’s were a tricky sort of place after all and one had to be careful in them at all times.

Yenn was happy to have her handsome partner supporting her once again. Without him there the conversation would have been even more awkward, if such a thing were possible. After a short exchange with the leader of the caravan they worked out how best to make it into the village with everything they had in tow. She would sneak an adoring smile to her lover as she moved around the caravan keeping an eye out for any banditry. She wasn’t expecting any trouble besides the more obvious ‘keeping a bunch of wagons from rolling down a mountain’. Most bandits that she’d seen in the area kept to the low lands, due to a lack of climbing skills she suspected.

It was several hours of walking at a glacial pace and she was reminded of her first mission with Tamwyn. Where they’d spent hours walking around searching for the ‘wind demon’ much to the sadness of her feet. Her feet weren’t much less sad now, but since she had continued to wear her inappropriate footwear she’d found that her tolerance for the discomfort had grown. That or she’d killed off all the nerve endings in her feet. Either way was fine with her, since it meant less pain. Once they got closer to the Inazuma clan district she found herself growing more agitated. She hated it here. The last thing she wanted to do was enter the place on full display, but she did have a duty. She would subconsciously move closer to Tamwyn as they crossed into the district and got everyone settled. She wasn’t sure where Quan and Tien were, but she knew that they must be close and it darkened her mood considerably.

After several agonizingly slow minutes of deciding where their guests would sleep and where their goods would be kept she snuck away to whisper to Tamwyn. “I want to get out of here, can we go home now? Please?” Her violet eyes would meet his yellow ones with her discomfort clearly written in them. Assuming he said yes she would take his hand and quickly make her way out of the cursed district and towards their shared home. Only once she was outside of the district would she smile again, mentally closing the gate on the place of haunted memories and turning her mind towards the time she would spend with Tamwyn.

The smile she would give him in secret would send his heart racing and he returned the smile back to her as she settled into her position. He moved at the front of the caravan, his sensory abilities being best suited there to look out for potential threats up ahead. If there was going to be an ambush it would be from the front where they could bottleneck them and potentially bring down a pass to block them. So that was where Tamwyn stayed the entire time. They moved at a sluggish pace and the hours moved past at a pace that a snail might be proud of. He briefly wondered if they would arrive in Kumogakure before he managed to grow a full beard. He briefly wondered how he’d look with one and imagined it carefully, using various lengths to get a good mental image of how best to wear and style such an adornment. Eventually of course they would arrive at Kumogakure and Tamwyn would instinctively move near Yenn, knowing how much she despised the Inazuma clan district.

She would move around and handle the affairs of the mission quickly and efficiently, deciding where their temporary visitors would sleep and where to store the cargo they’d been carrying. The precious gemstones were worth quite a bit and he wondered if Yenn had any idea about such a thing. Was she familiar with money and how it worked and functioned? Did she even care? In his experience most ‘woodsy’ people simply didn’t care about such things and simply were content to live out in the forest and live peaceful lives with themselves and those who stayed with them. Tamwyn considered that for a moment and wondered if perhaps that was what she might prefer. To live in the forest together instead of inside a large manor. It would certainly make sense. Eventually though his raven haired beauty would come to him and whisper to him, begging him to let them both leave. Her stunning violet eyes would meet his amber ones and he would nod in agreement. “The mission’s done, they’ve been escorted. Let’s get out of here.” He would say quietly and chuckling softly as she took his hand and led him away from the district at a much faster pace. Another mission done, and another payment they would receive for it.
