    Mission Name: Objects in Space
    Mission Type: Rescue
    Mission Rank: B
    Mission Goal: Protect River and defeat Jubul Early.
    Description: Simon and River are in trouble again. A bounty hunter named Jubul Early has been sent to deliver River to the Alliance. Keep her safe and take out the bounty Hunter.
    JUBUL EARLY::

    Payment: 25,000 ryo
    Requirements: C-Class, Completed ‘Heart of Gold’

    -
    Bounty hunters, Tamwyn hated them and he always ended up getting a disgusted look on his face when he dealt with them. They had no real moral code and only really cared about the money. At least when it came to the crew of the Serenity they didn’t do things that weren’t ‘right’. It also helped that the crew of the Serenity, or at least Capt. Reynolds, had a pretty good notion of what was ‘right’ in the world in most cases. This bounty hunter though, Jubal Early? No code at all. He was willing to take a job to kidnap a girl from her only living family and take her to the Alliance after all, so what kind of code could he realistically be expected to have? Tamwyn stood facing the man in the dining hall. The majority of the crew had already been either knocked out or locked in locations. Removing them from the engagement. Yenn was nearby, and her job was to be River’s last line of defense in case Tamwyn somehow managed to fuck up dealing with a ‘bounty hunter’.

    Sighing as he eyed the man who seemed to have a penchant for red leather, Tamwyn would speak. “This doesn’t end well for you ya know. You can still go, if you choose to I promise not to snap your head around like an owl..” He would say, his tone calm and neutral, adding to the intimidation factor of the threat. Jubal held his twin kunai with competence, in a low stance and light on his toes. He didn’t drop his guard as he spoke. “Not gonna happen, I’ve been hired to get her and take her back to the Alliance. You expect me to just walk away? Is that right?” He’d ask, his face and tone becoming curious and almost disbelieving at the end. Tamwyn would sigh and drop into a stance, Ambush of Xuen, his preferred. “Have it your way..” He said simply, readying his body to move.

    Yenn wasn’t totally sure what a ‘bounty hunter’ was. Or how different it was from what she was paid to do. It was a confusing moral grey area and only became more confusing the longer she thought about it. She and Tamwyn were repeatedly paid to collect people, rescue people, kill people. Did that make them bounty hunters? She wasn’t sure and from the disgusted look Tamwyn always got when they came up she wasn’t sure she wanted to ask. As usual the crew had gotten themselves into trouble. Mostly Simon and River, because they were integral to the plot and the story couldn’t go anywhere without there being some element of risk to their persons.

    Because of the crew’s collective belief that people just wouldn’t walk in and attack them, most of the crew was knocked out or tied up by the time this bounty hunter had just about reached his mark. She felt a swell of pride as she watched Tamwyn interact with Jubul Early. Pride and intense attraction. Tamwyn had an easy manner to him, she knew that the threat against the man’s neck was not idle, and the casual way that he said it was more than a little bit arousing. She was guarding the way to River, and for now she was content to watch Tamwyn do incredibly hot ‘beating up the bad guy’ things.

    Tamwyn would wait in his stance for Early to make the first move. He had far more speed and power to him and he didn’t think the bounty hunter knew that but he had to be careful. If he made a single mistake then one of those knives could end up sailing for Yenn. So he waited, time passing by seemingly in slow motion as he took the measure of the bounty hunter that has to kidnap River. He wouldn’t incite, wouldn’t speak, he would just wait with the patience of a saint for the man to make his move. Yenn was thirty meters away and that gave him an insidious little idea as he took a single large step further away from the woman. Jubal’s reaction would be immediate, shifting his stance to focus on Tamwyn as he would figure he would have space to react should Yenn decide to ambush him. That however wasn’t Tamwyn’s plan in the least. Without a word, without a motion Tamwyn would channel Raiton chakra into the ground beneath him and thirty meters in every direction would become suffused with the element as it electrocuted all who touched it. Of course Yenn, now being thirty one meters away, wasn’t affected.

    Early though? He stiffened up like a board and while he was made of sturdy enough stuff to not be killed outright. He was not able to handle Tamwyn’s activation of his Lightning Armor and swift kick to the head which did exactly as he promised he would do. Jubal’s head spun around in a sickening fashion, a full 180 degrees before the man fell back, his neck broken and he himself quite dead. Tamwyn would proceed to stand out of his stance now and pick up the body before casually disposing of it out in a shallow grave. A random animal would dig him up for food later. It was what bounty hunters deserved. Then he would move back to Yenn and wrap an arm around her waist before kissing her. River was safe and sound in her room, Simon standing protectively over her as some sort of last line of defense which would have totally not ended in his death too. Tamwyn was sure of it. Afterwards the pale haired man would take the time to put everyone who had been knocked unconscious by Jubal into their beds and unlock the doors so that people who were trapped could get out. Then retiring himself, he was sure there would be questions in the morning. But frankly, he didn’t care. He was homesick and wanted to be back in Kumogakure already.

    Yenn had full confidence in Tamwyn’s ability to not only deal with Early, but also to keep her from harm. So as Tamwyn moved to the side and further away from her she just stood there passively, without a worry in the world. After a second she saw why he had moved as electricity spread out in every direction for thirty meters. Had he stayed where he was she would have been hit by it, and that would have been less than fun. Despite the sheer power of the lightning jutsu Early was still annoyingly not dead, which Tamwyn took care of by making good on his promise to ‘snap his head around like an owl’. A sickening crack was heard as the man’s head spun one hundred and eighty degrees with a snap of Tamwyn’s foot. At that Yenn did move as she gripped the wall behind her with one hand and her stomach with the other. “Not now” she muttered as she angrily chastised herself.

    With Early quite dead it seemed unlikely that any more bounty hunters would come after River and Simon. Though who knew with these Alliance people, they did seem single minded in their attempts to kidnap the young girl. Yenn hugged Tamwyn close with one hand as the other still rested on her stomach in a futile attempt to control the angry muscles. Yenn would help Tamwyn untie everyone and unlock all their rooms, helping everyone to get back to some semblance of normal. At least they’d finally decided to put locks on the doors, but she thought maybe they still didn’t understand how real security worked, since the only thing that had accomplished was inhibiting the crew. After another successful mission Yenn would join Tamwyn in their bunk, fighting the urge to wander off into the forest as she fell asleep in his arms.
