Who knew that something that should be done by just about everyone would fall by the wayside and eventually be posted as a mission? Shin clearly had his expectations of people at a much higher level than they were displayed by their actions. The sole fact that the administration had to post the task of rewarding people – and posting this as a mission – for cleaning up the streets had Shin questioning the actions of the people who resided within the village. Surely there were cleaning crews that the village had hired, hell he had some working on his house during the restoration process, and yet the fact the streets remained filthy had Shin nearly, physically, scratching his head. Regardless, this was just another day that would be filled with at least doing something. There was only so much that one could take of sitting still and waiting for something to happen. While it certainly wasn’t the most interesting task, it would at least let time fly by faster than work that far more laborious than picking up some trash.

“Oi, Katsumi. You sure this isn’t all your trash on the street we need to clean up?” Shin would ask dryly, his eyes never once seeking out the individual he was working with. He didn’t know if he could call the other male a friend given they hadn’t known each other long, but Shin would classify him as an acquaintance at the very least. Enough of an acquaintance that he was familiar with to at least throw out a joke or two.

“Well, for the incineration type, you surely failed to incinerate anything. Perhaps you should ‘try your best’ next time to make sure you get rid of it properly.” Shin would respond wryly to Katsumi’s method of getting rid of the trash they had to clean up. Watching Katsumi’s displaying of utilizing his explosive chakra to turn a ball of paper into ash simply had Shin raise an eyebrow in return. “Well, if you want to play incinerator, perhaps trying it with something more than just one piece of trash would be helpful. Though, perhaps hold off on that since they never supplied us with a broom. Cleaning up the ash would just make this more difficult than it is.”

As for Katsumi’s comment regarding dumpster diving, Shin would ignore it for the time being, continuing to pick up trash and stuffing it in the garbage bag that he dragged along. Minutes would pass by with silence emanating through them, not due to Shin unable to respond with a witty comeback, but letting the matter settle for a bit. He wasn’t offended by it, his current living situation wasn’t ideal, still waiting for the repairs on his home to finish while he resided elsewhere, but that information wasn’t something Katsumi needed to know. “I suppose you’re somewhat right. After hanging around with you, I certainly know what filth you produce. And, I can say for certain, whoever left this trash is far more civil than you are.” Like always, Shin’s response didn’t have a hint of amusement, but rather remained neutral at best, though by this point it was likely easy for Katsumi to identify the tone behind Shin’s words. The time would fly by for Shin thereafter, the trash being picked up and disposed of in a garbage bag before they would move along the street to clean the next part of the street. The process would continue along until the street they were assigned to clean up would be spotless of notable trash.
