Between a Rock and a Hard Place [B-Rank]

Usually when it came to missions of this nature, Shin had thus far only dealt with people who could retaliate and would either put up a fight or surrender to him. Today was different in the sense that his target was not someone whom he could reason with and was far more likely to retaliate than surrender. A creature, beast, could not be reasoned with when compared to another humanoid. Shin knew his options were limited, though he did not even know the true nature of his opponent yet either. The only details he had was a large creature had been rampaging through the country and had rampaged through a town over the past couple of days; it was up to him to put an end to this today before this creature could destroy anymore towns or outposts that were of vital use to Iwagakure no Sato. Leaving the village and getting to the town that had been the recent victim of the rampage would take an hour of travel, which would give Shin plenty of time to go over the best way to potentially lure the creature away from the town before he would begin to attack it. Considering it was a creature large enough to cause structural damage to the buildings, Shin knew he’d need to use more deadly techniques to put a stop to it permanently.

Eventually, when Shin had reached the town, he came to discover what exactly had been destroying the town. It certainly was a creature he had never seen before, given the height of it neared approximately three feet, yet it was a solid seven plus feet in length alone; and this was excluding its horn. Staring at what seemed to be a giant beetle, Shin could only try and guess what had caused it to attack the town and how it came to exist here.

Quickly, Shin would begin to form a series of hand seals that would hopefully draw the ire of the creature. Rat, tiger, dog, ox, rabbit and tiger would let Shin utilize a technique he had seen previously; Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire. With the completion of the last hand seal, Shin would then look to the sky briefly and release sixteen small fireballs that would hover in the sky for a brief period of time before Shin would then direct the flaming orbs to attack the beetle. As this was happening, Shin would begin to form another series of hand seals; dragon, ox, and tiger. Much like before, Shin would exhale out flames, yet this time only eight fireballs would be created, though at a much larger size; a technique that was derived from the Phoenix Sage Fire, known as Fire Release: Great Flame Flower. Instantaneously, Shin would direct the balls of fire to attack the beetle. Upon contact with the beetle, a rush of heat would surround the area. Once it would all clear out, all that would remain where the beetle once stood was a pile of ashes.
