Armed and dangerious

Chika returned to her store with her pile of logs in tow. Rather they had been delivered by the merchant she had bought them from as Chika herself didn’t have the strength to carry such a heavy load herself.

Taking the top log from the pile and pulling out a crafting knife she began to go to work whittling the wood into shape as not one but a small pile of arrows. Technically as a Tsuchigumo she was supposed to be restricted to weapons of a non-metallic sort but technically she wasn’t using the knife as a weapon so she figured it didn’t really count. Besides she was half Hyuga anyhow which meant she wasn’t afraid to use metal parts for her puppets. It was semantics really but as long as she wasn’t wielding them directly she didn’t really care.

As she finished one batch of arrows she would pick up another log and start again repeating this process at least eight times. They weren't anything special but she was going to need a lot of ammo in the long run once she learned to eventually use a bow so she figured she might as well start stocking up.

She may decrease the time required to craft an item by one rank, however as a result reduces her Coordination by one tier for the purposes of the craft, as she's rushing through the process.

The first batch complete Chika went to work on an even bigger pile of wood for her second. She industriously cut away at one log after another turning each into a bundle of arrows to be used. Considering how much one log cost it was a good investment making her own arrows rather then buying them at the store. It helped save money in the long run which by the Lord Hokage she needed to do badly. Being a Puppeteer was an expensive as shit fighting style.

When Chika was done she glanced down at the pile of arrows she had completed and had one thought. Holy crap had she made a lot. Each log had been turned into a set of ten over the course of half a day. Repeat that enough time and she had a couple hundred ready to go. It seemed like a lot but the truth was with the right techniques it was possible to multifire several arrows at a time and in a siege battle you could burn through this many faster than you’d think. She was planning on regularly making this amount each month until she had built up a solid stockpile for her missions going forward.

For now though it was time to take a break from making arrows and onto something else. Just for a change of pace if not for anything else. So far she had the hand me down puppets from her Papa but she hadn’t made one truely of her own yet. If she was going to make the ultimate most badass puppet in the world someday she had to start somewhere. Frankly it was time she had a set of puppet armor of her own if for no other reason then that she’d be able to run around faster and lift more while operating it like a power suit then she could on her own.

She had something special in mind, making a puppet that looked as realistic as possible to trick people into thinking it wasn’t a puppet at all. It would even have a fake non functioning chakra system so that if someone with a Bakyugan like her looked at it they would still see what they would expect. At least for someone not molding any chakra at the moment which Chika rarely did anyhow outside of the occasional chakra string.

She was going to take advantage of what she’d recently learned when she’d had trouble graduating from the academy due to her age on paper being so low. Humans were protective of their young so she would make a puppet that looked like a child to prey upon that. Normally you’d think a puppet smaller then yourself wouldn’t make for something that you could wear as armor but Chika was a Spider shapeshifter, in her true form she’d be able to crawl inside the puppet’s mouth without a problem and take up residence in it’s chest. Getting out the block of Senju wood she got to work carving it into the shape she desired. Add a touch of spider-silk that she could produce herself and it was off to the races.

After hours of toiling Chika’s new puppet was complete. Compact and Child size the Puppet had pale looking skin, sharp red eyes and lustrous silver hair. With the dress equipped on her it was hard for even Chika the doll's creator to tell that it was a doll and not an actual real person. Now it just needed a name.

“I dub thee Aiko.” she said with glee. That was literally japanese for love and child which was a bit on the nose but it fit. The best part was that when Chika wore Aiko as armor nobody would associate the doll with her since their looks couldn’t be further apart. This was her first puppet and it or rather she was a splendid one, but Aiko would not be the last not by a long shot if Chika had anything to say about it.

Stretching out her pinky finger Chika shot out a thread of chakra, inserting it into Aiko and taking control, moving Aiko around the room as if she was performing a waltz. The movements of the childlike dolls were so smooth that it would put professional ballerina’s to shame. “Now for the real test.” muttered Chika as her human form dissolved into a puff of smoke revealing a small cherry colored Spider that could fit in the palm of Aiko’s hand.

Aiko bent down and held out her left hand allowing Chika in Spider form to clamber onto it before raising the hand to her mouth which was open wide. Without hesitation Chika skittered inside climbing down the throat to the chest where Aiko’s inner control mechanisms were located. With a tug of a string Aiko smiled devilishly as she began to walk out of the room much faster then Chika could have on her own. This was the day a new resident of Konohagakure was born.
