Hopeless Search

Gyo perused the market once more, still miffed at the general quality of the village, but slightly more hopeful now with the knowledge that Okane planned to move in. He needed to test out the new implement still, but he also needed to ensure he had enough wares to sell to ninja. He toyed with creating some basic weaponry again, but a devious thought crossed his mind and he instead chose to veer off in a slightly different direction. He went about to make his purchases as necessary before heading back to the local forge he'd rented to whip up another batch of wares. At this point he just really hoped someone would buy them.

Returning once more to the local shops, he made a few purchases, mostly regular materials for his upcoming project, but also a small stockpile of one of the rarer minerals he'd come across and which increasingly he had seen less and less. He couldn't say he particularly enjoyed the find, but he also could not argue with the efficacy of the crystals. They shamed even Kumo's revered resonating echo speaker. Once he'd picked up the materials, he'd return to the rental space, already mentally salivating over the prospect of a new, fully functional forge. For now, he would make do, setting aside time for a new, beautiful katana. Not particularly his cup of tea, but perhaps something a little more suitable for the various Kiri customers he hoped to attract. For this particular design, he'd add just a little something to allow for some chemical alterations, perhaps allowing him to entice some of the warriors here to invest in his various poisons and other chemical wares. Or at least he hoped they would see the value in them.

Nearing the pinnacle of what he could do with weaponry and, generally, having very little use of it himself, Gyo decided to move on for a bit to a different art, and one which would benefit his puppet skills quite greatly. More aptly, it would augment his weapon platforms with a great deal of versatility. In fact, he had already created a few items of this sort, but a greater expertise was necessary. As such, he picked up some simple items for crafting in a preliminary survey of the art, beyond what he'd accomplished back in Kumo. For now, some schematics he'd come up with for some auto injection needles, mostly to house medicines, as well as a few small bags to hold such implements in should work just nicely.

Out to the market, back to his rental space. Such became the continual refrain of the man as he honed his new skill. He'd had so many ideas for strange little contraptions, traps, and he'd had them for so long. But until now, he had no time to dedicate to such crafts between honing his skills at the anvil and the rather large number, relatively speaking, of requests for weaponry. It made sense, to be honest, as ninja needed their weapons. That said, he sense a change in the culture as of late; it seemed more and more people craved not weapons, but armor. Strange, to be certain, for a warrior of shadows to march around in heavy plate, but the market wanted what it wanted, no matter how ill-advised. He himself had little need for this, but did have great need for devious traps. Perhaps others would want a piece and he could turn a profit, but he doubted it; no one to the date had placed a single order for any of his chemicals from the ninja world and, instead, he relied on the financial prowess of the underground markets. Insane, truth be told. He had medical wonders and drugs which could do, well, true miracles. Sense would say he had a marketing problem, but he knew the issue: his employer ran a monopoly, and Gyo was barely cut in. The silver lining here being that he was a majority interest holder in said monopoly.

For now, he picked up a collection of fairly basic supplies for some more tinkering, but first he needed to perform a bit of transmutation. He'd first synthesize a few of his lower grade Silk1 products, mass producible at a functional cost. He'd then use it, along with the remainder of his supply run, to craft some small technological contraptions. Maybe he'd stop selling altogether... maybe he'd keep all his implements to himself and, eventually, when people are impressed, he'll laugh at their requests.

For a small break and change of pace, Gyo was headed off to Menzagakure, a village he'd never actually been to but which called to him. There were strange events brewing, it seemed, and his dreams beckoned him to the village in a far off land. He had, to be honest, nearly no idea how he would be getting there beyond his new steed, but somehow it did not seem to matter or bother him at all; he could tell he would make it safely. He did still have a few things to take care of though, namely the creation of some potions and the like. Thus, he tidied up the workshop, sighing that he'd not yet created a shop of his own yet and longing for the absurdly lavish appointments he enjoyed in Kumo. He shrugged before seeing himself out.

First, he stopped by the small space he operated a facsimile of a shop to pick up from handy tooth capsules. He'd grab four; maybe he could fence a few of them. He made sure, of course, to gather his other concoctions, particularly some of the lower grade drugs to sell, assuming Menza had an appetite for the stuff. Beyond that, he did pop in to the makeshift lab of his to whip up a few additional supplies for the journey and was delighted to find that his Chemistry Station he ordered had finally arrived. He would use it before migrating it to the carriage of his for mobile use. Most importantly, the blood salvation, a crowning jewel of his arsenal. He'd not yet decided if he actually wished to sell this one, though it would need to fetch an exorbitant price all this said. He loaded two into small gel capsules and placed them into tooth capsules, which he then equipped, and the remaining he placed into the auto-injectors he'd made, which he placed into his carrying satchel-style pouch. With that he had his preparations, though he made a quick stop to the stables before picking up his new mount.
