Of Yokai & Ninshū

Diana emerged from the ground, deactivating Mayfly the moment she was within fifty meters of the Modoroki Shrine, the Modoroki Arena to her left. It appeared that not many people were here today, probably for the best as Diana wanted this to be a personal experience, or at least one where she wouldn't be interrupted.

The fuinjutsu seals marking her connection to her artificial summoning contract of the Warmachina would begin to swirl as she summoned S-002; The Eikon of Ninshū, Anima. The Warmachina would be summoned next to her in a cross-legged position, floating above the ground so that he was eye level with his summoner. Taking the moment to scan his surroundings, he would turn to Diana, his eyes conveying the confusion he had behind his artificial eyes before setting his feet on the ground. At the same time the Gozu Tennō would glow and a small child would form next to Diana, Nue in a human form.

"Lady Diana, are we where I think we are?" Anima would be the one to speak, Nue simply staying silent as they took in their new surroundings.

Diana would nod. "Yes Anima, we are at the very place your forerunner had discovered chakra and formed the idea of Ninshū for all of us." Diana's Dojutsu would activate as she'd create three Blast Receivers, using one as a walking stick while handing the others to Anima & Nue. "And as his forerunner, I figured that it would be best that you and I took the time to give proper thanks to him."

An eyebrow would be raised from Anima. "Why summon Nue then? Another solid question, but one Diana had an answer to, giving Nue's hair a little ruffle. "To expand their horizons. Although their Dimension is a near-perfect home for them they are almost exclusively used to Iwagakure."

"I see."

With the initial questions asked, Anima would pick up Nue and put them onto his shoulders as they made their way to the shrine proper.

Now at the shrine, the Diana would take the lead while Anima & Nue would follow her. Passing through one of the Torii gates they'd go up to the shrine and bow, Anima having lowered Nue to the ground so they could join in if they desired (Nue didn't, but Anima did out of respect for their predecessor.) Diana would then put a small ryo donation into the box for the shrine's upkeep before returning to the shrine and meditating. Anima understood that even if he wasn't as spiritual as her, this was an important moment for the Kage.

"Come on Nue, lets go see if they have any Omamori charms that we can buy."

With the two walking away, Diana would continue to meditate, thinking about the various events that had happened as of late. She thought back to Seid and their claims of being the reincarnation of the Sage of Six Paths himself and how strange it was for him to claim such a thing. What was strange is that she didn't even see herself as particularly spiritual or religious, yet in the grand scheme of it all her belief in Ninshū appeared to be an outlier rather then the norm. She was the only one who gave prayers to the deceased even if they were an enemy, she was one of the few to give farewell by wishing them safe guidance through the Sage himself as of late. She hadn't thought about why she had been doing such a thing, but now? She assumed it was due to stress, but perhaps it was because she was afraid.

Afraid of failing those she was in charge of, afraid of those who could break down everything she had worked towards. It seemed to be the logical conclusion, but was it the right emotional answer?

Even after an hour of meditation, she did not have an answer as Anima and Nue returned. Standing up from meditation, Diana would see that both had some small talismans on their persons.

"I see you two had fun. It is time to move on however."

Anima would nod in understanding as he was unsummoned, Nue following shortly after. Diana...she wasn't sure if Nue enjoyed her time here today, but there was a small glow in emotion that she could feel through her Gozu Tennō.

Looking back at the shrine once more, Diana gave a small nod to it before slipping into the ground, her next destination in mind: the Todoroki Shrine.
