Nibi Fight Spectator's Topic.

Kami would be in the distance, munching on a pork stick, slowly as she would savor her food, the few things that would bring her genuine joy. Her mask would be lifted up slightly so she’d be able to eat, her eyes focused in front of her. Her head would turn to sense a particularly large presence, one that was many miles and metered away but it was feint. “Ah?” She’d take the piece of meat out of her mouth (phrasing…) and stare in the general direction before lifting off at B rank speed, getting closer to the chakra signature, jumping from tree to tree. A quick pulse, like an out of body experience made Kami falter, almost missing her step and falling. She quickly caught herself but stayed still for a moment, realizing there were now two chakra signatures, however one she recognized. Sero, his chakra being tainted as he tainted hers from their first missions together. Sero had become her sensei since Valens fall as Jounin Commander, regardless of Sero’s position as Nightmare Brigade Leader.


Kami’s eyes looked up, the intricate red glow coming from her mask like a trail of steam, following behind as she began moving. ‘Two powerful signatures…’ She thought to herself, unaware of what to come. She would continue her path until she would come to a halt once again, the ground rumbling, this time, Kami slipping and falling to a branch below. “Shit!” She’d catch herself with a hand and swing her way back up after a moments rest, going to the top of the tree and seeing waves of water, clashing around, and what seemed to be a large Blue Cat like spirit. Her eyes would try and find the chakra signature, but could find Sero in this mess. However, she realized what was happening, taking a small step off the branch, catching herself again. “Wh.. What the hell…” Kami gulped, realizing that the two tails had been released and it was roaming, freely at that. She would remain afar, watching, too scared to join unless she absolutely needed to.

Raika was resting quietly in the Ryuutei clan compound, though the place was still being cleaned and under construction to bring it back to its former glory when she felt something stir inside her body and then jolt her upright, like she'd just been given a command to rise. She's still a bit confused and slightly groggy from sleep, but regardless of her mental faculty, she can feel her chakra calling out and pushing for movement, though she doesn't understand why. She jumps out of her bed and immediately rushes out of the clan leader's chambers, which had been empty since the disappearance of the last clan leader. When she leaves the chambers, she can see several other Ryuutei bent half over, clutching themselves and clearly experiencing the same discomfort that she was.

She jumps to the tallest point in the clan compound to see a giant cat seemingly made of blue and black flame running across the sea towards an island, though she could see that part of the ocean was nearly boiling with activity, and she had to assume that the giant cat was the Nibi, judging by what she knew of the Ryuutei's history as relayed to her by the elders of the Ryuutei and their lion summons. When she was younger and more rash, she might have rushed headlong to it, entirely following the raging and wild instincts of her chakra, laced through generations of Ryuutei with leftovers of Nibi chakra consumed by their ancestors. Raika worried this meant she was becoming more civilized, but there wasn't anything much she could do about it now, and knowing now that she would likely be no match for a direct confrontation with the giant cat. But with the water acting so violently, she thought it likely that the bijuu was already being confronted.

She growls and decides to move a bit closer, though she would carefully remain out of its line of sight and try to quell the sensation of her own chakra pulling her to the Nibi for now. She stayed on shore as well, keeping away from some of the dense foliage near the swampy areas of Kirigakure where the water was dead and stagnant, putting her almost 750 meters away from it as she smelt Sero on the air, only barely masked by the salty scent of the sea. This could be interesting, and she needed to be nearby in case Sero needed help now.

This is a topic made for those watching the Nibi fight going on. This is simply to simplify post order and to allow people who have no ability or inclination to take part to get some character development. Modifiers will work between the two threads as this is just for organizational purposes. So when adding the exp tallies make sure you include the fighters in the actual Fight thread too.

Anyone deciding to join in need simply exit this topic and post entering the Nibi fight. Anyone in the Nibi fight thread itself is considered a combatant.

Blitz remained indoors on this day deciding to actually rest his body from the onslaught of training. Yet he persisted from within his home to continue his training wielding samehada as he constantly felt the endless draining from the blade. Taking a breath he was getting accustomed to it having his body training under such a condition of feeling constantly absorbed. He smiled to himself as he was trusted with it from the Flame Swordsman himself. Running his hand across the bandages as he allowed his chakra to be devoured he could only try his best to understand the weapon. In mere moments Samehada itself began to prickle, even stabbing Blitz in his hands, grinding his teeth as he felt the puncturing the blade was now feeling something rather odd.

Powerful enough to shame it to its core as Blitz sat down the beast of a weapon and went out of his way to bandage up his own wounds. It seemed whatever Samehada was sensing was enough to continue to cause it to growl something out of range of Blitz but enough to draw in the senses of the Shark Skin. Chuckling to himself as he finished wrapping both his hands he made his way back to Samehada placing the growling beast upon his back. Wearing his usual attire of a blue and white kimono and standard shinobi footwear the blue haired Yuki made his way out into the world. Heading quickly to the rooftop of his building, what he didn’t sense Samehada obviously felt he could only go towards the pressure.

During this time the growl of the blade grew louder and louder expressing what it felt. This only hastened the speed that Blitz was moving at, even more determined to find this beast of a shinobi crossing over rooftops as he cleared his path. Making it his prime objective to see this unfold what would occur and would be a part of it. Following the growls from Samehada it was only growing louder and louder. Soon it was clear as he came to halt before reaching the gates of the beast of blue flames. Seemed to run away from the village. At first the sight of such a being surprised him but soon that vision would be shifted. As a quick shadow quickly sheathed him from the rays of the sun as it soon allowed him to feel its warmth once more.

Quickly gazing up he couldn’t tell what it was that flew above him but he could only wait and watch to see the events unfold. Grinning to the point his teeth showed. Blitz realized the world of the shinobi was more interesting then he had expected but to his disappointment he wasn’t like the flame swordsman who would have been strong enough to go out and battle this beast life or death. Already allowing the male to surpass him, what else could go wrong if he decides to risk his life death was there for them all eventually. He was hesitant regardless as he sat down upon the rooftop watching from a distance in silence as he soon realized. The shinobi were indeed fighting yet who would be the winner of the battle was yet to find out. Bowing his head he could only give his respect as he regretted not even being strong enough to help defend the village.

“I shall watch till the end.. your stories..”

Raika's nose wrinkles, her nostrils flaring, as more and more people begin to converge on the giant blue and black cat-like creature that seems to be made entirely of flames. It started with only Sero, which had made Raika eager to join in to perhaps help him by distracting the bijuu, so that at least he wouldn't be as likely to be hurt by the powerful creature. But then more people show up, and she catches their scent on the wind as they rush past her location towards the Nibi, who is in view despite Raika being almost a kilometer away from the gigantic thing. She can smell Raphael's scent as he closes in on the great cat, and her eyebrows furrow as another scent enters soon after, but it's only a single, quick whiff of an unfamiliar scent, but it wasn't the scent of anything like she'd ever smelled on earth. A huge bird rockets past her on its way towards the giant cat, and she leaps upwards to jump onto a rooftop, getting herself a better view as the battle rages many hundreds of meters away. Although she can't actually see the details of the fight itself, she can see that the combat is involving some powerful people, and she wonders for a moment if she, as the Ryuutei clan head, should involve herself more directly in the combat.

After reaching the roof, she catches another, much more familiar scent; she knew him as Blitz, and she was seeing him more often these days, and so she runs over to where he's standing, letting him catch sight of her before she reaches him so he won't be quite so startled by her approaching him. She unseals her Kabutowari sword when she sees that he has Samehada out and prepared, standing next to him with her axe resting in her right hand, the haft of it on her shoulder, while the attached hammer is in her left hand down at her side. With his head down, he already looks defeated, but he hasn't even gone into the fight yet. That said, neither had she. Despite this, she growls to him a bit, catching his attention as she bares her teeth, letting him see that she's prepared for battle already.

"Get your sword up already. There's at least two of our fellow swordsmen already out there, taking on the challenge. They expect us to be there, too!"

She twirls the axe off her shoulder, showing off how skilled she is with the handling of it by twisting it around and around, spinning it around her back and her front with enough grace to miss even nicking herself with the axe blade before catching it squarely in the palm of her right hand.

"Don't tell me the wielder of the deadly Samehada is afraid of a little kitty cat. Let's freeze it where it is and take it down for Kirigakure!"

Raika stares at him; she couldn't admit, even to herself, that she was worried that they might not be strong enough to fight the bijuu with all those others already out there and trying so hard to take on the Nibi and having a hard time with it, but she needed to have at least more than one person swinging into battle with her. If she went into the fight alone, she'd become an immediate target, and if she became a target, then rushing in would have been for nothing, or worse, would get her killed when her clan still needed its leader. Regardless of her worries, her eyes still said she was ready to go in and start swinging.

Watching the battle continue and followed by a sudden lighting strike things seemed to become interesting for a moment he thought he was isolated. Yet another shinobi came to be someone familiar enough to come directly to him. Her voice only reminded him that the battle was going on and fellow shinobi were in the battle against such a beast. She insisted on going in trying to apply pressure to the shinobi but the mind was set upon the future not how many people would die on this day. For once it was a battle worthy of the other shinobi besides him; the temptation to enter such a fight was thrilling. He yearned more to at least see a future instead of being the one to be attacked.

Fixated upon her wondering why she couldn’t let their seniors handle the task it was clear that she had her own reasons. Out into the fight the shinobi who were dealing with the beast each had their own factors and advantages. He doubted such shinobi would need help from others, maybe only to promote their sluggishness. Patting her on the back he was satisfied with knowing that she was ready to risk her life for her home. Maybe it was due to the fact he still felt like an outsider compared to the rest of them. Glancing off back towards the chaos he knew they weren’t needed yet if he entered what would be the point.

The battle was on another caliber, yet he knew there was something he lacked, maybe the resolve within him to become a shinobi. Regardless, the need to go after such a fight was a death sentence that seemed out of reach for the time being. Watching from a safe distance was boring but planning to see the future was something that never crossed his mind till this day. Glancing upon her own weapons she did hold some truth a pair of swordsmen were in the fight but as the numbers grew. What was the point of joining if such capable people were already out there. Yet the hunger to go out there stirred resentment within him.

“I’ll only get in the way. You go.”

Raika lets out a little growl when Blitz pats her on the back, though it wasn't quite an aggressive growling noise, simply the sound of displeasure. Somewhat similar to a cat having its back rubbed while it was in a fighting mood and its hair bristling, though Raika herself wasn't a cat. Still, even after Blitz complains that he'd only be getting in the way if he joined in and orders her to jump in alone, she doesn't quite rush into the battle, and instead simply twists her axe and hammer in each hand, feeling her own corrupted chakra cry out even as the Nibi itself roars out at the specks that are actual ninja attacking it, not to defeat it in defense of Kirigakure, but to capture it so as to not lose out on such a valuable part of the delicate balance of power between all the ninja villages; should the Nibi escape, it could still mean serious problems for Kirigakure, as the villages would experience a sudden imbalance of power that leaves Kirigakure far weaker than normal.

But despite her eagerness to join in, she's no longer forced to act by her wilder animalistic instincts that only demand to eat and fight and kill; she's become somewhat smarter, although she might push back and call herself "domesticated" by all her time in Kirigakure. While it would be a harsh criticism of what society had done to her to make her what she felt was a less effective hunter, it might very well let her avoid rushing into the violence and end up causing more harm than good. If she and Blitz were to rush in together, they might have been enough to actually help, but either one going in alone would only end up causing the others to feel a need to protect them from the Nibi instead of capturing the Nibi itself.

Instead of jumping in like Blitz had ordered her to, she sulkily bounces on her feet; she needs to get rid of this excess energy as she feels all the hair on her body stand up when the Nibi charges a huge amount of chakra in it to unleash it into the water, but a bolt of lightning comes down, and the energy seems to dissipate as if by magic. The fighting spirit rages in her, maybe more than it does Blitz, but she also doesn't try to rush into such a dangerous fight as this, where the stakes are high for herself and for anyone who might be near her. If she felt the pull of the Nibi's chakra from her own tainted chakra pool, she has no doubt that the Nibi, if it scented or sensed her own chakra in Raika, there was no doubt that the Nibi would immediately turn on her as the leader of the Ryuutei clan, although she hadn't yet gained the title of Red Lion from mastering its most powerful techniques.

And so, instead, she turns to glare at Blitz, although there isn't any anger directed at him.

"Fine then! We'll stay here and act as back-up and a defense force if the Nibi chooses to come towards Kirigakure instead... I hate that you speak sense sometimes, Blitz."

Hearing her remark made him chuckle as he continued to watch on the never ending battle things seemed to be getting interesting. His attention was split from the action and the dialogue of the women but he only spoke the truth he saw only death. Stepping out into a fight unready for such a beast when yet he hasn’t given a real fight to the man that was out there fighting for the village. Gazing over it was nothing but a pipe dream for the male he did hope to grow as strong as those who went out there to battle. The path was long and in the shinobi world a life is taken quickly.

Sighing to himself as the remark from the women once more echoed inside his head he could only chuckle a little bit at the thought of a compliment, even a small one such as that. As the events began to unfold during the fight Blitz could only chuckle a little to himself as he could only watch the events. Crossing his arms he remained motionless as he wanted to see the outcome of this battle for himself. Turning his head and gazing upon the women for a brief moment he could only utter the truth and what was to be.

“Let’s just hope they make it back alive. If not, we can tell their stories to the next generation.”

Kami would watch from afar, getting closer and sensing a few others nearby, feeling their presence and distinguishing their natures. It had been Blitz and Raika, both together at one point. She would make her way to the area they would stick in and she would appear from nothing, practically blending in with the shadows. “It is quite a sight..” She would say from being so quiet. She would listen to their conversation, glancing over to blitz who would remain on the side lines. Raika had seemed a bit irritated, yet didnt lash out on Blitz. “Raika, have you gone soft? You would’ve beaten him to a pulp before, so what’s changed?” Her eyes widened and a mischievous grin would appear on the mask as she wriggled her fingers towards her. “Do you have a boyfriend? What’s his name.” She’d ask with a darker demeanor, as if to capture Raika and take her in for questioning.


The ground would occasionally shake and Nibi would roar occasionally as well, the fight becoming ínstense. “Save it for later. If you’re gonna fight; go. I’m too weak and I stand no chance.” She said, her demeanor returning to normal. Kami would stay with blitz until they were both needed. She felt weak but there was nothing she could do. She would look to Blitz and nod in agreement. Though it wasn’t her specialty, respect was one thing on the fallen.

Raika frowns a bit when Blitz suggests that the ones fighting the Nibi might die and that their stories should be told by the survivors if it should come to that, and she scoffs softly. Although she'd scented Raphael as he had rushed into the Nibi fight, and now Blitz saying that he hoped they would make it out alive made her worried that he might not make it. She needed something to keep her mind occupied, and the sudden realization that at least one of their Seven Swordsmen companions actually wasn't involved, especially since he was also Kirigakure's Jounin Commander, was certainly a distraction. She growls under her breath, cursing Valen's name because he wasn't there to help with suppressing the Nibi and possibly getting others killed because of it.

She's about to turn to go and find him when she catches sight of Kami, who suggests that she would have beaten Blitz to a pulp before, and suggests that the bestial woman has gone soft. Raika's facial expression doesn't change, but she rests the back of the axe head on her shoulder, then flicks her sharpened nails in Kami's direction.

"Come over here and feel me up if you think I'm so soft. I'm no stray kitten and you know it."

She's retained some of her old self, apparently; despite Dante's face immediately rushing to her mind when Kami brings up the word boyfriend, her face doesn't even flush. Being challenged only goads her into acting, but with no other allies helping her to rush to fight the Nibi, she has to redirect her aggression to a more useful outlet.

"The Nibi came from this way. We should see where exactly it came from, just to make sure nothing else is coming to eat us next."

As Raika moves past Kami, her shoulder bumps against Kami's own, unless the other woman moves aside. She moves quickly but quietly towards the location opposite to the Nibi's initial direction, and her brow furrows as she scents not just the Nibi itself, whose smell still makes her own chakra pool quake, but also catches a scent of Valen himself. This was an extremely odd find, but once she reaches the crater where the Nibi had apparently come from, she comes upon the supine form of Valen himself. She instantly rushes to him, leaving behind either Blitz or Kami if one or both of them followed her. Regardless, she saw that his eyes were closed, and though a bit uneven, his breath was rising and falling. She could also feel his heart beating with effort when she touched his chest, so he was definitely still alive. Raika growls under her breath when she realizes he's alive, and she seals away Kabutowari back inside her bangle so she can lift him up onto her back, with his body draped over her shoulders so it's easier to move him around.

"He must have tried to take on the beast alone when it showed up at first. Let's take him to the hospital for now, he can debrief Princess Arisu when he wakes up. With any luck, he'll know how this happened."

Watching from the reactions of each shinobi as they threw in comments toward each other Blitz could only chuckle at the friendship. At such a time he saw light in the world. Gazing over towards the battle for a mere moment Blitz allowed Raika to begin her adventure before returning his gaze towards the direction she went. Her comments of something coming towards them seemed somewhat warranted to be searched. Cracking his neck he followed suit and remained positioned where he stood watching over the fight. Silent. Allowing her to advance ahead he focused his attention ahead of him watching the ongoing battle.

“…”

Kami would go in a defensive stance, as if she was were startled by Raika’s comment. She would stand on one foot, her leg hiked up and her body turned with her arms in a 90° angle, going upward and her fingers spread out. The tail on her costume would spike up, matching the reaction the mask would give off. “I’m not going to do that and you know it!” She snapped now standing back on her feet properly. Her eyes would widen from Blitz’ laugh, her face relaxing and letting out a strong huff as she crossed her arms. Kami would be taken aback as Raika would bump into her in which Kami would push her gently, flipping her off from behind. It would seem like a rude gesture yet her mask would relay a sneaky smirk, clearly giving off a joking vibe. She would watch Raika leave and she would remain with Blitz, continuing to watch the battle field and the Nibi at work. Everyone was strong. Yet it seemed like they couldn’t catch up with the Nibi.

Raika slips into the hospital, still carrying Valen's unconscious body over her shoulders, but also taking care to not let his head smack into anything while she's guided to a room by a nurse. The woman becomes a bit impatient, but she lets Valen slip down onto the bed before she rushes back out of the hospital; she doesn't want to return too late to help fight back the Nibi if indeed it has managed to evade its pursuers and decided to take down Kirigakure entirely. She returns to the duo still watching the fight, and although she feels that impatience in her again, she knows that neither of them will go in with her, and trying to join the fight solo is suicide.

So instead, she thrusts out her left hip and rests her left hand on it while she updates her fellow Nightmares on what she found.

"I found our Jounin Commander unconscious in the middle of a fucking crater. He's in the hospital now, and he's alive but not conscious. No idea how the fuck he survived something like that..."

She punctuates what she's referring to by jutting her chin forwards at the Nibi itself as it continues its attempt to evade or beat away the attackers trying to recapture the giant cat demon.

Watching the conflict ensue he was sure the fight couldn’t be lasting long enough till the sun began to set but these indeed were shinobi. The bijuu itself was on its own level; such a force just seemed to appear out of nowhere with no signs of forceful entry to get within the village. Yet it caught the attention of everyone rather late to make it out to such a great distance. Something was off with this the beast seemed to be away further from the village attempting to fight its way out. As if it had no concerns of dealing with the village or its shinobi. Moments later he was greeted with another visit from kunoichi herself informing them about the status of the Flame Swordsmen. It was only a thought but if such a thing appeared in silence underneath their noses it couldn’t be hard to confirm his suspicions.

“You did well. It seemed like someone had their own agenda. Who in the village can help him?”

Raika sighs as she brings her arms back, popping her spine in several places as she stretches like a cat; she wasn't that strong, and so carrying Valen had been harder on her body than she'd expected. She frowns a bit, though, once Blitz mentions that someone had their own agenda, but she didn't remember scenting any other people; not that it meant too much, she was certain there were some ways to mask a scent, but it would have been odd for someone to do that.

"No idea about that agenda, I didn't scent anyone else where I found Valen; just the Nibi and Valen himself. It could have been someone working from afar, but how they would have gotten the Nibi this close to the village is anyone's guess. The best medics I know of are in the hospital, and they told me he was stable and recovering quickly, actually."

Her frown deepens now at the thought. How could he have been knocked unconscious, been right under the Nibi like that, and come away recovering so quickly. He may have been a Jounin Commander, but it didn't sound like something he would have had in his wheelhouse when she'd had interactions with him before. He was quite adept with a sword and fire techniques, but she didn't know too much about him, except that he now had an odd blue stone in his chest the last time she'd seen him, and it had still been in his chest when she found his body. She decides to keep the observation about the stone to herself.

"He's in the hospital now. I don't know any other medical ninja."

It had seemed maybe he spoke in code a bit too much for the others to understand but yet it might be good to remain cryptic to the others. Watching the explosions go off in this distance he could only agree that the medical teams within the hospital knew what they were doing. Patting the woman on her right shoulder during her stretch he could only bow his head slightly for her work.

Turning his head he watched the battle once more walking away from the kunoichi. It seemed the mighty cat seemed to be growing larger approaching the village was a possibility but he doubted the beast would commit to such an act. In an attempt to attack the village would only mean the death of many.

Blitz quickly darted off the rooftop landing upon the street of the village as he began to bang upon each window and door of any residence he could. Alerting them loudly of the oncoming threat that poses immediate danger to their lives. Precautions didn’t hurt anyone but Blitz used this moment to continue to save the lives of the village the non combatants did not need to meet such a fate.

Laughing to himself at the madness that started to ensue as people began to listen and even some felt the earth shame underneath their feet from the ongoing conflict. Yet Blitz could only attempt to save the masses.

“Hahahaha!”

Raika watches Blitz leave from the corner of her eye, and she turns her head for a moment to watch him go, before another explosion comes from the fight with the Nibi. The woman rapidly turns her head back towards the sea to catch sight of a rapidly expanding dome of chakra growing from the impact sight. Her eyes then just barely catch something flying through the air and landing in some trees, falling a couple meters before the movement in the leaves stop, making its location clear for Raika. The Ryuutei moves in the opposite direction to Blitz rushing into the village, though she has no idea what he's thinking an evacuation will do; the Nibi is fast enough that the only reason they can even see it move is because of its massive size. If the giant flaming cat wants to eat the evacuated villagers, it simply would.

Raika climbs rapidly through the trees, hopping from branch to branch until she reaches the height of that mystery object, and once she finds it, she stops and feels her blood run cold. She reaches over to it, her hand shaking a little before she steels herself, gripping the handle and pulling it from the branches. The size and weight of such a sword nearly put her off balance, but she braces herself and lifts it much more easily the second time. Raika could tell that she wouldn't be able to wield it effectively except in both hands, so it definitely wasn't the right weapon for her.

She carries it back to where she'd been observing the fight, her face back to its usual bored-looking expression, knowing that someone had very likely just died: the wielder of the Hiramekairei. She wasn't the right person to wield such a weapon, but she thought it prudent to grab it before someone else could. It would be a huge risk to leave it anywhere at all out of sight, so even though she couldn't wield it one-handed with any degree of effectiveness, it was better in her hands for now. She'd see if Valen had anyone else in mind for wielding such a treasured weapon. Still, she hadn't heard of who the wielder of Hiramekairei was, and the specks were too small to see individuals from this distance; she only knew who was there by their scents as they'd passed by.

He didn’t expect to gain anything from saving the lives of the people he just wanted to see some justice done correctly and giving everyone at least the chance to run was a better option. The rage of the beast was coming for them all and it was best to save as many lives as possible so they can continue to have faith in the shinobi of this village. Rather than fear them they did not warrant such aggression just the fear they gave off was enough to see that they deserved to see both sides of the shinobi. As he turned around the crowd only continued to grow following him deeper into the village away from the battle.

Leading families and the elderly to safety Blitz committed to saving their lives. Upon his mind he could only think about his injured comrade, someone he ironically knew for a bit since their days upon the island. It wasn’t much but as long as he saved something he could keep up the confidence of being a successful shinobi. Leading the herd of people through without failure he continued to amass more people under him fleeing towards the center of the village. Blitz himself stopped half way allowing them to continue on their path gathering anyone and everyone leaving them and heading back to rooftop to meet up with the others.

He could only see what was a new sword upon the young women, something from the battlefield no doubt yet the owner was not her. Death had already greeted them now it was time for a counter giving a tiny prayer to the death of whoever it was on the battlefield. For the sake of the village he should be remembered for risking his life to fight such a demon.

“New Weapon?”

Raika returns just in time for Blitz to catch her holding the blade and observing it much more closely than she had when she'd first picked it up. Valen had not spoken to her about who the other Swordsmen of the Mist, only that he'd struggled with finding a new wielder of the Hiramekarei. She also knew that they weren't allowed to own multiples, but for the moment, she was only keeping it for safekeeping, saving it just as she would have saved a member of Kirigakure, as long as she knows they're in trouble. When Blitz asks her if it's a new weapon, practically asking if it's hers now, she's not sure how to answer; while she's not currently capable of wielding it with one hand, she can feel that she's close to being strong enough. But the decision is strictly Valen's, or the Princess's, as long as either one of them is alive, it's strictly not her decision.

"No, not a new weapon. It is however, a sign that there's someone we have to... What did you call it? Tell their story?"

She juts her chin out towards the Nibi and its fight with the other powerhouses that make up Kirigakure's elites.

"While you were gone, it came from somewhere there, after one of those explosions... Whoever it belonged to, I don't think they're alive anymore. So this needs to be returned to Valen as soon as he recovers."

With that said, Raika places it on her back, where it stays, similar to Blitz's own Samehada. Her stance suggests that she's not going to give it up, either; for all she knows, there could still be someone that managed to release the Nibi within Kirigakure in an attempt to attack them, so she's not going to let it leave her person for purely safety reasons.

Watching as she placed the twin swords upon her back he could only go back to focusing on the part that needed the most attention. From the explosions earlier on it appeared a shinobi met their end while the others continued on and advanced the beast itself would only meet their aggression. Looking down below the sounds of people calmed down as the crowd made their stampede away from the gates. Their safety was for the best but the battle that continued would come to an end soon with either the beast winning or the shinobi claiming their victory for the fallen. The homes were empty with the people fleeing for their very lives.

It was clear for anything to go wrong yet I’m very upset that he felt the regret of missing out. Yet the signs of death were clear watching the fight continue; the mark of death lingered over the battlefield. As he continued to look around for more mere hiding places that people could throw themselves into. The rumbling of the earth could be felt as the battle raged on in the distance. Checking and securing each building as nothing was found besides the items they each left behind.

Some being trinkets and others memorabilia such as pictures and clothes. Returning back to the roof after he was done he watched with the others as the battle was raging on he could only stare in silence.

Raika lightly nudges Blitz's shoulder when he returns again from checking the other villagers' homes for any others. She doesn't speak just yet, not wanting to risk possibly setting him off from his antsy attitude. He looks like he might jump in himself now that he's seen that there's likely been at least one death involving the fight with the Matatabi.

Just as she's about to ask him if he wants to evacuate the village right away, she sees some kind of giant statue rising up to try and take the Nibi down, as it seems to be struggling and pulling away despite being wrapped itself in some kind of chains, and she can feel the pull from her own chakra pool lessening as the Nibi itself gets slowly tugged towards it. She doesn't really need to see the rest of what happens, so she turns to look at Blitz again, grimacing just a bit as she juts her chin towards the villagers.

"You wanna break the news that it's a false alarm alone or should I help? There's a lot of them, after all, and we can't be too happy about being roused from their beds and ordered to evacuate right away. Do we call it a drill or do you think too many of them saw the Nibi to keep it a secret?"

These were somewhat less important questions, but she could go along and help him get the citizens back home.

“No..They know what this world brings. It’s our job to prove to them we can survive in such a world. Tell me why you would want to be suddenly fed lies. They had to have known this isn’t your average earthquake. I’m letting them do a little exercise that is good for our people. Tell me will you keep that sword now and move on from your current?”

Blitz glanced over at the tailed beast and its capture being almost completed, signing to himself; he wondered if the possibility of this beast appearing out of nowhere meant it’s been underneath their noses all this time. No possibility of it coming from the outside but the report from Raika seemed much greater than that the beast killed a former swordsman.

But not the Flame Swordsman he thought that impossible such a mighty beast didn’t even fight to get out the village at first. Concerned with his thoughts on the matter as he watched the mighty beast enter its final moments. Gazing over at Raika once more before wrapping both his hands around the yellow hilt of Samehada before removing him and gently resting him upon his right shoulder.

“Like I said in the beginning we watch till the end and tell their stories. You now have their story or a legacy if you want to call it that. Carry it and become stronger then they were in their honor as a fellow Kiri Nin and maybe one day if we have to battle these beasts. I’ll know when you’re truly ready to risk your life for our home.”

Samehada could only growl sadly as it felt the chakra pressure of the massive beast begin to be consumed. Growling as every moment was spent the largest source of chakra was now being taken away and he couldn’t even have a taste. Blitz felt a little sad for his sword but he could only smile as he began to feed the beast his chakra channeling it through his tail.

Moving his head slightly as a signal to go back to watching the final moments before returning back to peaceful times. He would hope the people would understand their lives were in danger at the moment he may have overshot but their safety came before anything. They may hate him in the end as he sighed before quickly dashing off after the townspeople.

Heading to their aid and telling them the threat has been contained. Soon after a couple minutes had passed he would be seen walking down the street once more returning what seemed to be left of the crowd of people to their homes. Cracking his neck as he sighed and returned back to the rooftops to only watch the beast still fighting consumption. Samehada could only growl with a little pleasure as it could feel the remaining pool of chakra slowly leaving this world.

“So strong huh Samehada?”

Raika raises an eyebrow when Blitz asks her if she suddenly wants to be fed lies, but she's not entirely sure all of the villagers could have possibly determined that what they were experiencing was some kind of bijuu attack. But she stops herself from saying that there's no way they could know. These mythical beings were already ingrained in some way in the culture, even if only peripherally. They might as well tell the truth; those that knew the truth would be rebellious and cause issues if they were lied to.

The question about whether she would keep the sword and return her Kabutowari was met with a stare from the Ryuutei woman for just a bit longer than was strictly socially necessary before she finally answers, returning her attention to watching the Nibi being pulled inside of the strange statue as she answers.

"If Valen allows me to keep Hiramekarei, then yes, I will keep this sword and return the Kabutowari. With only a little training, I can make full use of the blade."

Raika frowns a bit when Blitz suggests only she is the one not yet ready to risk her life for Kirigakure, especially when she herself had tried to also pressure him into joining in the fight with her and not the other way around, but she lets it slide. There was no reason just now to be antagonistic with her fellow Swordsman and Nightmare over what was probably only a perceived slight.

"We don't even know who exactly has died. We'll find that out during announcements. For now, the battle is over and the Nibi is taken."

Raika smirks a little actually, looking at Blitz out of the corner of her eye.

"Perhaps you could give that stray cat a new home. Who knows?"

She turns to look back at the hospital, hoping the medical staff hadn't abandoned the building and its patients during the evacuation order. She decides she ought to check. Once Blitz goes to help send the villagers back to their home, she throws a wave at Kami, another fellow Nightmare.

"The offer to feel me up isn't entirely off the table, Kami! Not many people get to experience my softer side!"

The joking offer makes her think of Dante, and she decides to take a momentary stop at his place to make sure he's okay.

Blitz continues to watch the capturing of the beast as he hears the cries of the kunoichi insisting the other to get some time in with her. Chuckling to himself he simply allowed the flow of time to take over as he awaited for the full completed hunt.
