A Castle at Sunset

Mission:

After a short rest at the base camp, Ren would head back out when a report came in that they had found a Summoning Tag that they were sure was different than the others. Easily able to overhear the conversation the scout team had with their superior, Ren would head to the location that the team had provided. His three tomoe Sharingan active as it always was lately, Ren would slowly scan the castle as he moved through its halls. His last bout with the illusions still fresh in his mind, wondering if this tag would pull an illusion from his memory as the others had, or if this was guarded by something that was more than an illusion. The idea of facing something more challenging was slightly exciting, and it could also mean that he was one step closer to the true master of this place. Dressed in his dark blue battle Kisode and Boots of Silence with his sweet silk cloak draped over him, the salamander contract concealed on his back beneath the cloak and all of his other small tools and gear within the cloak. His Gunbai was tucked within the Kamui Dimension, though he could hold it within his hands in a matter of seconds by summoning it to him, just as he could summon Tempest or Sienna from there if he needed. His chakra sensing technique active so that nothing surprised him when he rounded a corner, though he had only faced illusions so far, even they have presented to possess chakra like a normal person to his sharingan. That was the thing that bothered him the most about this castle, was that even his Sharingan could not see through the illusions that were created in its halls. It was intriguing, yet at the same time it was also frustrating. His clan was known for their prowess with Genjutsu, even though he wasn't among the best with it, his sharingan had never failed to see through illusions to reality. Here he did not have that luxury, not to mention the fact that the Illusions here seemed capable of causing real damage to him. Before he would get close to where the scouts had said the tag was, Ren would take the time to summon Akemi. Having her hide beneath his cloak should he need healing again as he would rather not take any chances considering how strong the illusions seemed to be becoming.

Entering the upper floors of the Castle, Ren realized how close he had been to this tag the last time he was in there. If he had gone just a little further, he would have likely encountered the guardian or illusion that protected the tag, so it was likely a good thing that he had decided to rest before continuing. Now he was at full strength, and he was more prepared for whatever the castle may throw at him.

The castle was an odd place and potent at that. It had studied a danger to it and decided another danger would need to be challenged by it. Both men had been clearing tags through out the floors but this one needed a special touch. The Uchiha had been taking his time with the castle and eliminating his enemies. However it had studied a man known as Tadara too. Finding his capabilities an interesting build for an assassin. So they had place the illusion of him in the mans path. However even this illusion had clad itself in an anbu mask and a black cloak. Indoors was not ideal for the being but it had its uses. For now the true body was hiding around the next corner into the next hall. It seemed calm as it contemplated the best options. It was a highly intelligent individual so for now he would attempt to play the long game. He knew Genjutsu as illusions didn't work on Uchiha. It was common knowledge at least for S rank int that those Sharingan would see right through them. However he had a theory for the idea he would still need to break out of them.

So the Anbu would step around the corner at the end of a fifty meter long hall as Ren would enter it. Standing at opposite ends he would analyze the man immediately. However there was no need to talk. Instead he would attempt a battle of attrition. Ten bee's would emerge from his anbu sleeves and spread around the edges of the hall. He would be simultaneously form the tiger sign. At first it would seem like nothing had happened. However if Ren would charge him he would flee into the next hall immediately. If he broke out of it then he would have to expend some chakra. If he did not he would be turned around in this floor. Giving Tadara extra time. The bee's on the other hand moved down the hall at B rank speed. Hugging the walls...floors and ceiling in evenly spaced out increments. Attempting to get close enough to get under his clothing and sting him. To attempt to spread their venom. In tight quarters for a ninjutsu specialist they would be easy to deal with but that would mean expending more chakra. Little by little whittling him away. Ren would need to close the distance soon to stop this.

Jutsu used:

Ren would sense the source of chakra before reaching the hallway, knowing it was lying in wait for him to arrive. While he couldn't tell if it was real or another illusion, he could tell that whatever it was it was not the one responsible for the castle. It was clear that whoever was responsible for the castle was powerful, and this source was more on average with the sources that he had previously faced. No matter what it was, he was prepared. Rounding the corner, Ren would see the Anbu at the other end of the 50-meter-long hallway. Seeing the bees emerge from the man's sleeves, Ren's first thought was that the man was an illusion of an Aburame, but then he remembered that the Aburame used smaller insects and not bees. He could feel an influence spread through him likely from a Genjutsu, but that did not matter for what he had planned. In his right had a large flame would ignite forming a flaming sword as Ren would smile towards the man, he wouldn't move towards the man instead simply letting the man's bees come to him before swatting them all with the flaming blade with a single wide arcing swing before disappearing from view. Using the Kamui technique to teleport himself instantly, appearing directly behind the other man before plunging his flaming sword into the man running him through and igniting him in flames.

Tadara would observe as his genjutsu connection remained solid. No wavering attempt to break out of it from the Uchiha. He was confident in his abilities. The Sharingan as famous as it was happened to be well known for being able to detect genjutsu. It was widely considered to be of little use against them. So theoretically he should know he was in a genjutsu. However for now even as the man would activate his flame sword Tadara would quietly shift his perception of him a little to the left of himself. A meter to the left actually. Settling it to rotate a meter every three seconds further out. Along with that he would conceal as ten more bee's were summoned. With false surroundings he would make it so the bee's weren't there.  However he would keep them close to his actual chakra signature. If it was true the Sharingan could see chakra he would want to conceal them with his own up against his body. As they were spread out at .1 chakra each it might be more difficult to ascertain their exact location or number. However a note was taken to space them out more. A single movement of the blade had eliminated the first ten.

It was the moment Ren simply wasn't there anymore that Tadara's eyes would widen in surprise. He hadn't expected teleportation. But considering he caught the movement of the strike assuming his genjutsu was functioning to his side he would immediately respond. He would do three things in order. First he would shift out of the immediate reach of the weapon in the mans hand by launching himself two meters back. Upon doing so he would expel chakra from himself. From three meters away he would activate Genjutsu binding. Aiming to lower his enemies speed and coordination by a tier. Finally he would immediately do two attacks one after the other. All as quickly as he could he would thrust his right hand forward. Utilizing his blast release from his palm strike and release a greater blast strike. A five meter wide ten meter long cone would fill the hall with a B rank power blast. Using the front facing blast Tadara would shift his bee's with the false surroundings hiding them from sight but not sensory. Spreading them out sporadically so no two were in a direct linear path of each other for more than a split second. Surrounding himself with them while maintaining his genjutsu locking him down to D rank speed.

This was a gamble. If he could teleport there was a chance he would avoid the explosion. Even filling the space with an attack would do little if they weren't there. However that had been the point of the S rank genjutsu. If he could delay his reaction time even momentarily he could do damage. However he didn't expect it to be enough to stop the man. The false surroundings technique would have the man perceiving him an alternating range from his actual location. He would have to rely on seeing the chakra or sensing it more than those eyes he trusted. Which meant their tracking ability wouldn't be of much use. However the bee's were in preparation for a counter attack. When it came they would rush to get under Ren's clothing from whatever direction he came from immediately upon him appearing there. The genjutsu was maintained to ensure his bee's were faster than the man's attack. It was a lot happening at once but Tadara was keeping track well enough. He was also able to do all three moves without a single hand sign taking up time.

Jutsu used:

Despite the fact that he saw his blade stab the man straight through the back, the man would jump to the side as Ren realized that the man had cast a genjutsu to mess with his perception. As the man moved away Ren would form the tiger hand seal with his one free hand, using Kai to release the genjutsu the man had used. His eyes trailing the man as he moved to three meters away from him, but before he could move to attack again, Ren felt a sudden slowness in his body. As he saw the man's body begin to twitch as he prepared an attack, Ren's Mangekyou would activate once more and he would disappear from where he was, reappearing back at the end of the 50-meter-long hallway where he had entered as the explosion from the man's attack would happen where he had been.

He had made a mistake in underestimating the castle and its illusions, he tried to get close and end it but that was almost his downfall, he would not make that mistake again. This one was smarter than the others, or maybe the castle is learning as he fights against it and this man was created just to stop him. He was done taking chances and worrying about conserving his energy, anger raged within him at the thought of being made a fool out of by an inanimate object and its strange illusions. Forming the horse hand seal, Ren would release a destructive wave of fire down the hallway. The small hallway would be washed with the flames as they spread from floor to ceiling and wall to wall as they travelled at A-Rank speed down towards the other man and his bees, leaving the only way of escaping the flames for the man to flee deeper into the castle. All the while Ren would monitor the man with his sensing technique as he couldn't see through the flames, readying himself to make a counterattack if the man held a way to fight the flames.

Tadara would note that his surprise blast attack had amounted to nothing. In an instant the target was no longer there but... those glowing honey colored eyes would shift in a split second. Noting the man had returned to his original starting point. He would cancel out the blast chakra the moment the man had disappeared. Conserving that chakra as a few sparks left his hand instead. As if the jutsu had fizzled. Well such a rapid defense and movement capability made this a little tricky. He also noticed that the earlier genjutsu had been annihilated and his current genjutsu had been proven ineffective in time for an attack. He would release it and gain his mobility back. So he was facing an opponent who could track his chakra....could move anywhere instantaneously and attack as well as retreat instantly as well. What was more was the single hand sign being used. The study of Ninjutsu had been interesting to him. Very few used the horse seal. However the higher tier katon ones did. He saw the flame bursting forth and was already moving down the hall. He would need mobility for this. Forming hand seals rapidly as he had a head start on the fire. Dog-Ox-Rat before striking his legs three times. Suddenly boosting in speed by an incredible margin and finding the nearest window before bursting outside. Grabbing the ledge and flipping over it before darting up the side of the wall.  Now running at A rank speed.

As Tadara moved his mind would race with solutions. Wide scale katon firepower was intimidating. He would have to use the castle to avoid it. However he couldn't keep up that pace indefinitely. He would need to spread out his own effective range of attack. This section of wall was a massive hundred meter by hundred meter section with windows on every level. Roughly every ten meters. Still he would immediately release two hundred bees. Swarming the area and rotating sporadically for a hundred meters all around. Meaning anywhere the opponent popped up would only have a second or two before bees would swarm their location. Beyond that Tadara prepared to spot the enemy's attack pattern. Forming more hand seals as he came to a rotating run. Boar | Horse | Tiger | Ox | Tiger. Two wax clones would emerge from him. He was feeling drained of chakra now but this would form a difficult battlefield for the opponent. His clones would move with him so there was no space between them. Back to back as they watched three directions at once. Keeping an eye above themselves in rotation. If Ren moved into this tactic he would be spotted and swarmed by bees immediately.

105/185 chakra:

Sensing the man moving, bursting out of the window at the end of the hall, Ren realized that this guardian of the seal was unlike any other that he had faced. It was apparent that his normal tactics that had been dealing with these illusions was not going to work, which meant it was time for him to change his tactics. As he made his way down the flame charred hallway towards the window the man burst out of, he could sense the man and the spreading of his chakra with the bees. Ren would form a single hand seal creating a normal shadow clone of himself, "Akemi go with the clone," Ren would say to his summon as he outstretched his hand to his clone. As Akemi moved to the clone Ren would from the Ram hand seal before merging with the surface of the wall, allowing him to move through the wall as his clone began the next step of his plan.

Before following the man out the window, the clone would form two more clones of himself however these clones were not the same as him. First, he would create an explosive clone, one that would look and act just like a normal clone but when was struck would explode in a 30-meter radius explosion. The Second Clone would be a Mud Shadow Clone, it was the same as a normal shadow clone if not for the limitations of the nature of chakra it could use and that it was slightly harder to kill. With the other two created, all three of the clones would burst through the window the man had escaped from, each grabbing a different ledge that they used to flip themselves and land with their feet on the wall before taking off in different directions each of them moving at B+ speed.

The exploding clone would be making a direct line in the direction that the man had taken off to in an attempt to get as close as it possibly could before being struck and exploding. The mud clone would take off to the right while the regular clone took to the left, each of them moving to 50 meters away from the window they all came out of before turning to face the man. The normal shadow clone would not make a move, however he would have Akemi unleash an attack with Water Severing Wave. The high-pressure stream of water erupting from just above the clone's collar as Akemi poked her head out, at the same time the Mud Clone would form a large golem made of earth using the Golem Technique. This was all of course provided that the man would be caught off guard by the three moving in different directions and the bees didn't swarm them the second they burst through the window. If everything went off without a hitch, then the golem would move to smash the three men as the stream of water came at them from another direction. The real Ren would be watching everything unfold from the surface of the wall, waiting for the opportune time to strike if he needed to.

Tadara would continue to change up his patterns in movement. Waiting and watching as he calculated his next move. The windows being watched as he expected them to follow him. Though not just those. The entirety of his surroundings. A clear open space to watch for more teleportation shenanigans. However he was not so much caught off guard as prepared when there was movement emerging from his window after the fire cleared. It had time to prepare for them to follow the fire but to brazenly use the same exit. They wouldn't make it very far. The bee's that had been created for a purpose would swarm as a multitude. One hundred bee's would descend upon them in waves the moment they exited. From every direction the bee's would charge forward. Clouding the air they breathed and not letting them escape from the embrace of the window. The enemy was only a single + faster and grouped. Emerging surrounded and clinging to the building instead of using some sort of flight technique. Honeyed eyes would narrow as the bee's swarmed them before they could get five meters from each other. However the result would be surprising for him. As he could not identify the different clones without their specific characteristics demonstrated.  

As there was no active defense against the bee trap closing unless he suddenly shifted, before they would have the chance to cast other jutsu or move very far really the bee's would begin to attack. Landing and burrowing under clothing and armor. Even with sheer numbers attempting to cling to the salamander. Driving dozens of stingers into each of them to a lethal amount. Tadara would adjust his movement erratically again with his clones moving in tandem with him. However unless something changed the explosive clone would go off almost immediately upon exiting the window with the other clones unable to escape in time before the attack pending nothing changing. The use of the explosive clone would be his downfall. At least for the clones and the summon. The blast would likely catch all of them and all one hundred bee's once it discharged. Wiping out a section of wall, one hundred bees and all three clones ideally as well as the salamander. Alternatively if any of them escaped the blast radius but still got stung the venom would start setting in. 

If the golem and Akemi still got off their jutsu Tadara would give the mud golem a wide berth and avoid the cutting strike as he was still moving at A rank speed. The remaining hundred bee's would move to attack in waves of ten. Aiming for the eyes but going to inject any enemy in the vicinity closest to them at full speed. It wasn't so much that these were incredibly fast as much as it was they were incredibly small and in large numbers. Still Tadara would let his bee's do the work while maintaining distance and keeping his clones moving in tandem with him however erratically. Simply put he wasn't interested in tangling with the golem just yet. It would have used the castle to form itself and he doubted it had supernatural walking practice. If it was clinging to the side of the castle wall it had been formed from it likely couldn't move to pursue him. If anything it was a stationary tower with weak footing. He simply wouldn't go near it. In effect the exploding clone would either be immediately detonated or detonated before it made it very far out the window.  If the other two clones survived the stream of water would be dodged as it started some distance from him and moved linear at the same speed. The mud golem if it was created would have a precarious time remaining vertical standing sideways on a castle wall. 


Same jutsu continued chakra doesn't change as no maitenance. Still at 105. Speed still A for one more round after this.

Though the original plan with the three clones did not work, it was not all for nothing, at least one of the clones served it's purpose. As the one hundred bees swarmed the three clones at the window causing the clone great explosion to activate in a destructive blast 30 meters in every direction, the shadow clone and Akemi would both poof away while the mud clone was turned to mud. However, that was not the end of the mud clone and as the dust from the explosion settled, the mud would begin to move reforming into Ren once more. Though the explosion had happened prematurely, it did grant one benefit to the reformed mud clone, space between it and the remaining bees. Quickly forming a string of four hand seals the Mud Clone would activate the Stone Pistol Technique and began firing off pebbles from its mouth that would quickly turn to boulders. The main aim of these boulders was at the three men standing in a circle with their backs to each other, but they would also destroy any bees that would try to get to the clone as it fired the boulder bullets. After firing the bullets the mud clone would retreat back giving more distance between it and the three men, the real Ren would maintain his cover with the hiding in surface technique watching and waiting for the right time to strike.

Techs:

Tadara would observe the successful explosion. However there were no body parts left behind. Indicating a lack of the actual host in the blast. He had lost out on a great deal of bees but he was still moving strong. However he would observe as the one clone had turned to mud. Another technique he had studied from the doton libraries. He couldn't use the element but he had considered modifying his wax clone to do much the same. However the mud clone would begin reforming and he would frown behind his mask. This creature was more immune to damage than his wax clone by a degree. His wax clones could take some damage and reform unless it was to the head or total obliteration. However there were limitations even to this mud clone. For instance it was comprised of doton chakra limiting it to doton techniques. However the host while having some distance capability would likely be nearby observing him. Sensory range only went so far. However he didn't have techniques to cover the maximum range. However the clone while difficult to be destroyed would need to deal with something if thrown at it Genjutsu wise he was certain. 

If his gamble paid off the host would have to negate him too. Still the matter of the doton jutsu being thrown at him would have to be dealt with. If nothing else it did provide blind spots and force him and the clones to separate. The rock bullet technique would expand as the three broke formation and began to spread out and close the distance. The medical pressure points were wearing off but for now he still had enough speed between the three to avoid the giant boulders as they would take chunks out of the castle wall with the echoing sounds of impacts before most of the boulders would fall down the side. Supernatural walking practice was a simple enough thing for him at least. However two of the clones would move to the left and right of the mud clone. Closing the distance in an effort to engage it in melee combat. Tadara himself would keep up after avoiding the rocks lagging five meters behind and forming the tiger hand seal. 

Feathers would begin to fall around the castle walls and inside. For 150 meters around Tadara white feathers would begin to fall everywhere. Slowly turning black as the clones would snag pieces of jagged glass from the air for weapons. He really should consider investing in actual weapons. Something at least like a kunai or senbon. For now Jagged glass would have to do. The clones would attempt to get closer from either side of the mud clone. Engaging it from either side with continuous attacks. Fifty more bee's had been wiped out by the rocks however so the remaining fifty would form a spiraling wall around Tadara. Keeping his eyes out for the host. He was dealing with the mud clone in two ways. Continuous damage so even if it reformed it would still be dealing with A rank coordination rapid stabbing from either side. Putting it in a constant state of reforming and draining its reserves. Besides that the genjutsu being cast over a wide area. He was curious if a mud clone could cast genjutsu kai. Still he felt a strain on his system as he was using a higher tier technique again. It was below a hundred chakra now even as he fought conservatively. Still if he was near enough to the enemy with that genjutsu he would feel it connect shortly. It wouldn't be pinpoint by any means but it would tell him the enemy was within a hundred and fifty meters.

Ren's ploy would pull off and his clone would serve its purpose, a small smirk forming as the three men would split apart and move towards the clone. As they did so they would unknowingly turn their back on the real Ren within the wall, and he would use that opportunity to attack. Rising out from the surface of the wall, Ren would note the falling feathers, knowing that the man had used a Genjutsu but at the moment not cary. He planned to end this squabble right now, the Mangekyou Sharingan in his left eye would activate as he rose from the wall. Keeping in time with the man's movements with the precision of the Sharingan, Ren would instantly create a 5m diameter hole to the Kamui dimension, with the center of this hole created in the exact middle of the man's chest. If the man managed to survive such a thing, his speed and coordination would be dropped by three tiers each as the portal would attempt to suck him in at B-Rank strength, however if things worked the way Ren intended the man would die instantly from half or more of his body disappearing into another dimension. Rather than take any chances though Ren would use the great Spiraling Ring technique, launching it at the man before turning intangible just before the blast destroyed everything. It would consume the majority of his remaining chakra, leaving himself feeling weak, but he was not taking any more chances with this one.

The mud clone operating on its own, though with the same thought process that Ren held himself would see the feathers falling and while it knew the technique it also knew that it could do nothing about it and instead focused on what it could, the assault coming from the two clones of the man. Gesturing towards one of the clones with its hand, causing the earth of the wall to form spikes in an attempt to skewer it, before it could turn to do the same to the second, it had already managed to reach him and begin it's assault. It couldn't stop the attack from one of them (or both if the first clone made it through unskewered),  but it was able to form four hand seals. Turning the wall beneath both (all three) of them into a muddy river to dislodge them from the wall and flow them down to the ground where they would meet their end. As the fast movement of the mud river would prevent the super natural walking practice, and if that did not work then the mud clone would be wiped out by the combined attacks of the two clones or the resulting devastation of Ren's final attack..

Tadara had been waiting for the moment Ren would appear and watching for it. He could predict this outcome but hadn't been sure what reaction he would need. Still he would note the change in the eye and shift course. Adjust rapidly to launch off the side of the building a meter and then straight down. The Kamui missing him as he had predicted some form of attack. This his analyzing eye would note the distortion as rocks got sucked into the attack.  (Using a Precog) So this man could create something akin to the idea of a black hole? However small it was the attack was a potent one. Had he been caught up in it he would have been torn apart. 

The clones on the other hand were continuing their assault. The one clone would get caught by the spiked wall through its abdomen, chest and shoulders. A couple of spikes through each leg. But it avoided the spike to the head. The spikes however wouldn't draw blood or dissipate the clone. Instead appearing as yellow wax through each of their exposed wounds and coating the spikes. The remaining clone would start his assault on the mud clone only to have to grip onto it in an effort not to get washed away as it began to stab at the brain. However it appeared to be able to function regardless of its head being wounded and attempted to wash the clone away. Successfully sending it twenty meters down the wall before it caught a window and held on with mud soaking the side of the castle. The other clone would free itself and drop onto the mud clone. Wrapping around it with its legs before stabbing into it. The wax holes closing slowly as it continued to try and wear the mud clone down. 

The bees would shift in response to the threat as fifty bee's would charge Ren. Flowing towards him between the white falling feathers. So much danger to expose himself too. And yet it would all be for naught for Tadara. Even as he fell he had intended to grab onto the window covering as he passed it. However he would see the hand seals and precog to keep falling. The sheer energy in that spiraling ball would be immense. He would make himself aerodynamic as possible and try to dart with gravities assistance to escape the blast. The wind whipping around him as the blast set off. However he simply was not fast enough or far enough. There would be a flash of light as he turned and raised his arms and curled his body to try and defend uselessly. The bee's and clones would be wiped in a flash of light before the sound of a huge section of the castle being wiped out would even register. For Ren if he could see through the blast the mask would crack and shatter first before he would see Tadara's face. Then the body would turn to gold dust and the illusion would fade. Leaving Ren alone in a crater flying next to a huge chunk of the castle missing. He had won and two tags would appear hovering in the air before him. Somehow not destroyed by the blast.

As the dust from his attack would settle, Ren would find two tags floating in the air in front of him. Taking a brief moment to look at the destruction that surrounded him, he couldn't help but wonder why they had not been simply trying to destroy the castle rather than finding these tags. As he ripped the tags from the air however it all became clear, Ren's surroundings would shift and alter, finding himself back in the hallway where he had first encountered the man he had just fought. There was no sign of the destruction the castle had just endured, not even the smallest sign that there had been a fire within this very hallway. Everything had returned to its previous prestige condition, now it made since to Ren why they couldn't just destroy the castle, because it wasn't real. Scoffing to himself, Ren would tuck the tags away with the others before turning and heading back to the base camp. The fight with this illusion had taken more chakra then it should have and he needed to rest before moving on to try to face the master of the castle.
