Over a thousand years ago, when the God Tree first took hold, its roots dug deep into the earth, very deep. Background

Deep in the heart of the forests of the Land of Fire and, perhaps, in other regions too, exists an unremarkable cave with a remarkable secret.

Over a thousand years ago, when the God Tree first took hold, its roots dug deep into the earth, very deep. While those roots have long since vanished, their efforts did not, resulting in a vast network of tunnels. Mere earth was not all those roots found, however, for a stone of unique properties rested within its depths: The Hades Stone. As the roots rested against this stone, it began to absorb the chakra of the God Tree. Even after that tree was no more, the stone and the chakra it absorbed remained.

This stone, and the massive amount of chakra within it, laid dormant for many centuries, occasionally causing seemingly random changes to its environment until it manifested a sort of pseudo-intelligence. This intelligence granted it the ability to perceive stimuli that resonated from the surface. War was what it sensed most, and the earth shattering devastation that it wrought. It longed for peace and the quiet that accompanied it, but it never lasted long.

The First

The stone eventually sensed a child, only a few years old, who behaved like stone whenever able. He lounged in the grass like he was born to it: Natsuki Uchiha, an unassuming boy whom the stone recognized as kindred. The stone appeared in the boy's dreams one night, coaxing him out of bed, out of his village, and into the forests of the Land of Fire. He seemed to  know where to go, and soon found the entrance to this unremarkable cave. though it was only a few feet deep, the boy entered and placed a hand upon the rocky wall. Immediately, the wall reacted and shifted, a new tunnel formed as rock and stone moved aside to reveal a network of tunnels- the God Tree's.

The boy traversed this maze deep beneath the surface, acting only on instinct in this pitch black until he saw a light. It started as streaks of glowing green across the stone; the boy followed it as it grew bright and brighter. It was coming from yet one more path, and Natsuki soon found its source. He knew it, unspoken, that this was the Hades Stone. He climbed up the stone, slicked by wet and moss, drawn to its light. As he pressed his hand to it, it suddenly flared in brightness before growing dark. It had given something to the boy, a power of its own design, and it began to rest once more. The power of the stone was imbued within him, until such a time as he awakens as the Avatar of the World Soul.

He would all but forget this night, rationalized as the long faded memory of a child, but he carries with him a stone. It was one of many that littered the ground beside the Hades Stone, and he carries it around his neck to this day.

Just as the stone had sensed the calamities of war, so too can the Avatar of the World Soul. They are capable of sensing climactic happenings in the world as long as they, themselves, are on the ground. They are not aware of precisely what is happening, or by whom- just that something is happening. If the user has S rank Perception, they may detect S rank or higher techniques that displace the ground within the country they are in. If the user has X rank Perception, they may detect A rank or higher techniques that displace the ground within the country they are in or S rank or higher techniques in adjacent countries. The Hills Have Eyes, 500 Experience

Few things escape the notice of the Hades Stone and, by extension, the Avatar of the World Soul. They possess a keen sense of what is happening around them and the effects that these events cause. A bird takes flight, displacing a stone, and a landslide swallows the town below; these events are seen well in advance. They may swap their Intelligence stat for Perception for the purposes of Precognition, including Analysis Time and Precognition Saves. No other intelligence perks are shared.
