Patrol Duty(Mission)

Mission Details:

After his training session with that user of Storm Release, known as "Lei" and a few more consistent trainings, Kouen picked up the pace on training himself and after multiple usages of his chakra natures and trying to combine the two, he actually manifested his first crystal in the training grounds a few days ago. He felt like he had reached a milestone as around the same time, he felt an odd sensation around him as he literally felt the "lives" of other people, he thought something was wrong with him at first but he found out later that day that he's a sensory. He discovered two amazing abilities on one day and so far, he's done his best in trying to master both.

He already got his assigned mission from the mission board, but he came a lot earlier then expected with his patrol duty but that's because he wanted to utilise the time to try and master what he can.

It seems that his practices in using his kekkei genkai had already attracted the attention of a few people who walked, as Kouen's crystals showed itself to be amber in hue. He expected his crystal to be red because of his eye colour, but it's still an interesting colour to look at nonetheless and he's just happy overall that he unlocked his ability. He learned two usable techniques so far, he started off by using the Ram handseal along with touching the ground, to which a crystal "barrier" of sorts completely surrounded Kouen, he kept this up for a few seconds just to release it, to which the crystal collapsed around him. He then did a new series of handseals and a crystal blade formed itself on his forearm. He also released that and soon enough, the crystal just collapsed to the ground.

He decided to have a break for now as he still had most of the day, and he still had a job to do and that was guard duty. He also heard that he has a partner for the mission as well but he wasn't sure if they would arrive, regardless he made sure to stick to the meeting location and that's just outside the entrance to the residential distract.

The Chuunin finished fastening his black chest armor piece to himself. He stood in front of a mirror and looked at his person. Fully armored he was ready to start his first patrol of the streets. Not generally left to Genin to protect the streets as some were to young and inexperienced. However Seid had become increasingly more powerful as they year progressed. Showing his mettle and prowess in the Chuunin exams. He was promoted for his high intelligence and now he was able to take more channeling missions.

Seid began to make his way out of his apartment and started to make his way to the meeting place. He was armed for anything. The city was very powerful but they had been getting a criminal problem as well. No telling what to expect on the streets even in this metropolis. It didn't take long as Seid jumped from rooftop to rooftop and was there in under a few minutes. His speed was nothing to be trifled with.

Kouen sticked to the meeting place as he did indeed get there quite early, but he wouldn't start patrolling until his partner had come along and if he didn't, he would call it quits as they couldn't expect a Genin to patrol the streets by themselves. He continued to spend his time learning what he could from Crystal Release. He spent the last few minutes of what time he had left by trying to weaponize his crystals in a deadly matter as he realised that their hardness is impressive, he borrowed a kunai at one point just to stab into a piece of his crystal and it bounced right off. He could make a crystal blade attached to his forearm so far but his next trick is to make a crystal shuriken, he did it at first by building up the crystals around his hand to create a small crystal shuriken as planned, but the size looked pathetic and it felt too easy to make.

He continued to do it multiple times, to the point where he made a gigantic crystal shuriken that looked similar to a snowflake. He placed it to the ground and quickly deactivated it, as it felt dangerous to carry something that big around. He quickly patted off his hands and when Seid would arrive to the scene, he would notice a few amber crystals around the entrance of where Kouen is. Kouen's sensory is what made him pick up on where Seid is due to how close he got, which resulted in Kouen looking his way, just giving him a stare which got followed by a wave from Kouen. He didn't say anything though and just waited until he got close enough to talk with him.

Seid from his vantage point was able to see his partner for the mission. It was only for a moment but a giant crystallized shuriken dematerialized. Kouen Korikane. A promising Genin who was chosen for this patrol mission to get his feet wet. Usually you didn't expect such blazoned crime in the city. But times were different, the image of the "Walking Death" had emboldened criminals to commit more heinous crimes. There was no telling, backup was always appreciated for the health of citizens.
Kouen noticed he was jumping from rooftop to rooftop and waved at him. Seid jumped and sped towards him. Landing a few feet away he gave him nod.

"Greetings Kouen. I see you were practicing before the patrol. Good. Hopefully you will not need it for the mission." Seid said noticing the amber crystals around as well. An interesting ability he had that piqued the Chuunins more curious side.

It was still sunny out but it was only for the next few hours as the midday was beginning to pass through. As night came closer that was when he expected things to actually happen. As a ninja of course he would take to the shadows, there would be no difference. Especially in a city filled with shinobi it was obvious when most criminal things would happen.

He gave a light nod to what he said, he quickly looked at his own hands before looking back at Seid, noticing that he saw the amber crystals all around. "Sorry for the mess, I've been practising my kekkei genkai, crystal release if you were curious." he might've heard about it or maybe it's something he's completely new to, either way... he moved on quickly enough and grew a bit curious about the man he's assigned with, with a mission like this Kouen knew he had to be assigned with a superior ranking shinobi and he wondered what made this shinobi strong. A special clan ability? or is he really that skilled? he wouldn't pry into it as he didn't have an excuse yet.

Soon enough, Kouen began to walk through the streets, expecting Seid to walk along to begin their duty. It might've been a bit early but with Kouen practising his jutsu not even a minute ago, he wanted to have a bit of a break and he believed walking around the streets and patrolling would be a good one, especially since he didn't expect much criminal activity to happen at this point of the day. "So you know my name, I think it's fair if I learn who you are?" he could only assume he read some sort of file on Kouen, or they only told him the name of who he was working with to which Kouen didn't get the same luxury.

Kekkei Genkai? Seid thought as walked forward. Crystal release he said. Seid wasn't that knowledgeable about clans, only the ones that were home to the Cloud village. He also was curious about Seid as well since the man did not introduce himself. "I'm Seid of the Otsusuki clan. We're a quiet bunch so you might not have heard of us. But very interesting ability to control Crystals." He gestured for Kouen to follow him as he began walking down the streets preparing to do their first rounds.

"From which clan do you hail from?" Maybe he could find out a little bit more about the clan, opening his knowledge to the abilities of his allies. And down the line if he were to ever face a user like him, he wouldn't be totally in the dark. However he could understand the notion for privacy just because of that reason.

Kouen wasn't sure if he should share information about his clan like that, but this guy is an ally of Kumogakure and maybe he could only tell him as much as he needed to, it's not like he had to know every single thing about the clan with the explanation. "It's known as the Korikane Clan, we originally hail from Iwagakure but the bloodline has been known to spread across the other four nations, it's just much rarer to find somebody with it that isn't from Iwagakure. I'm just lucky I guess." he heard a story from his father that one of his ancestors used to be apart of the Korikane clan and the chances of it awakening in descendants is rare, but not impossible.

He didn't open up much on his ability to control crystals because he hadn't specifically asked about it yet, but he wouldn't mind showing off a little since it is something he is proud of achieving very recently. "The Otsusuki Clan... yeah, I don't think I've heard of that... do you have an advanced element as well, or some other special ability?"

"The Korikane clan. From village of Iwagakure. Which was recently conquered by Konoha's forces. It seems the Land of the Fire has valuable clans under their banner now. Glad you made it out before all that." Seid was not exactly fond of the war between the Land of Earth and the Land of Fire. But it was the way humans were in this world. Though it paled in comparison to the "Walking Death" possibly sent by the Kirigakure ninjas. Not only destroying their military force but also killing citizens and committing acts of grave offense to the humans of this world. Even for him, that type of cruelty was unheard of in his home.

Seid also heard his question asking do the Otsusuki clan hail any abilities or special elements. It was hard to explain but for the go-around, Seid usually had his spiel ready. "It depends really. We have various abilities but each member is different. Some of us were blessed with abilities. While others are as normal as any citizen. I was blessed to be born with abilities." There was no point in telling him of the Rinnegan and its history. Not many knew about it and it was dangerous information. They continued their walk around the village which was huge with its new additions making it a bustling city.

There were people out and about, happy with the ninja force and living conditions. They heard multiple call out to them with warm greetings to which Seid would respond kindly.

Kouen listened carefully as he explained his own clan, though he gave a bit more insight on the clan it felt like a lackluster answer to Kouen, like he was answering the question without actually answering the question... either way, he got the hint well enough that he's hiding some aspects of his clan and he can respect that, provided Kouen shouldn't of opened about his own so easily but there were a lot more facts to consider about the clan itself instead of just knowing that the clan utilises Crystal Release, so in his eyes it wasn't that much of a problem about how he revealed such information to him.

He seemed to have regenerated easily enough from his little training session earlier, though he felt prompted to get back into the training now that he has his energy back up. Along with Seid, he forwarded his greetings to those who called out to them, giving a quick smile as he responded to them before turning back to the patrol which quite frankly, bored him at this point. He believed that they both knew no serious activity would happen at this time of day.

"So I'll be honest, I'm a bit eager now to continue my training... I doubt anything will happen in this district during the day, how about we pick a private spot and do a bit of training, maybe a spar?" it's not that he doesn't take his job as a ninja seriously, but realistically he knew that barely anything would happen at this time of day in this district, he would like to make better use of his time knowing that.

They walked for a while and it seemed as everything was going very well. Exchanging only the basics of each other, more interactions they would probably learn more. But as they progressed, Kouen suggested that they leave the patrol and go train. Seid shook his head against the idea, "While I don't mind training. If any other Chuunin saw that we didn't pass by the check-points and something actually did happen. We would be-" Seid was interrupted by a sound. They were on a residential district, however it seemed like the shadier part. There was a thrift store, but for some reason it was closed in midday. However the sign said close, but the door was slightly ajar.

As if someone tried to close to so suddenly but didn't secure it. There was a loud ruckus coming from the building but than all was silent. There was no one on this particular street except the two. Seid sensed danger. "Well you might be able to train after all. Lets check that store out. Strange noises are coming from them and something doesn't seem right."

Seid was right, Kouen had to focus on the job and it wouldn't be good on him to start being lazy about it just because he managed to unlock his kekkei genkai, he wanted to improve himself as a ninja but he also had to take his job as a ninja seriously if he ever wanted to make it in the shinobi world... at least, that's the thought process that went through him until they came across that store with a bunch of ruckus being created, items being smashed or rummaged over and they could even hear it from the outside. He quickly activated his sensory, closing his eyes for a second and opened them once more, feeling the presence of two people inside.

"Two people inside, fast heartbeats and they're moving around the store fast, I think were dealing with store thieves." with a series of handseals from Kouen soon after, a crystal blade formed on Kouen's forearm, he could use his crystal kekkei genkai in a impressive matter but his chakra control is lacking at the moment, meaning he'd need to wrap this up fast before his crystal blade would run out. "I'm ready to go, you good as well?" he quickly asked Seid, waiting on his approval before heading into the store, or if he wanted to go in first himself.

It was useful to have Kouen's skillset along for this type of mission. Seid brought his hand to his face, holding up the Ram sign. In his left hand a long black metal pole exited from within his arm. It was almost two meters long and it looked like a pipe to the outside view. But a single touch from this pole could stun almost anyone even if it was momentarily. He grabbed the pole and held it out as a melee weapon. Easily long enough to be thrown like a javelin. "I'm ready. Lets go."

He was better armored for this situation so he should take lead. He skipped past Kouen and he followed suit. They slipped into a more crouched position opening the door they would enter into the darkness of the shop. Unnoticed by the wrecking of the place. The shop was a two story building and it was large and spacious. But it was marred with destruction from the two thieves. Tearing apart the place they were to distracted to notice anything out of place.

They were hidden conveniently behind a large cart filled with all types of gadgets for a real life ninja tools. Expensive tools that would sell for a lot on the black market. Seid looked to Kouen, then peered slowly rose upwards to peak over. He could see that there were indeed two of them. Stopping their wild hunt for a moment to rummage through the chaos. He slipped back down and said, "Go ahead and strike first. I'll back you up. Just try and take them alive if possible. So much paperwork for these scrubs."

He quickly snuck into the store with Seid when he took the lead, hiding behind the cart and just as his sensory had told him there were indeed two people in the store, rummaging and throwing things to the side for anything valuable the store had to offer. Seid told him to attack when he's ready and he would follow his lead, to also keep them alive if he can help it... he thought about that and he quickly undid the jutsu that's holding together his crystal blade on his arm. He knew of a technique that could be used to electrocute one of them at least with the element of surprise, and Seid could easily take on the other one since he had a feeling he's more physically gifted then Kouen.

Kouen made sure his figure or any of his limbs weren't seeable behind the cart, as soon as he was sure of that, he gave a whistle which wasn't too loud or too quiet, which attracted the attention of one of the thieves. "Eh? did you hear that?" the closest one had said, stopping his pillaging for a few seconds when the other one finally replied. "Go an' check it out, don't need no guards creepin' up on us." the closest one did as he told, moving towards the direction of where he heard the whistle, going by the side of the cart and saw the two ninja hiding behind the cart, before he could even react Kouen already dashed towards him with one of his hands charged in lightning, a punch landed on the thieves stomach and soon enough, his entire body engulfed in lightning as he screamed in pain before his body collapsed to the ground, a bit of steam rising from his body as a result... he wasn't sure if he had overdone that or not.

Wasting no time, the other thief saw it happen and charged straight for Kouen, he expected Seid would make his move at this point, if he hadn't already set something in motion to stop the second thief.

Kouen was careful with his approach. Instead of jumping into the situation, he first whistled to gain the attention of the thieves. As one of them began to edge forward to check it out. The other Genin slid out from behind the cart and charged a lightning attack with his fist. He dashed forward to attack the surprised thief. A well placed hit to his stomach engulfed the man with a strong electrical current. He cried out suddenly and fell to the floor.

Seid was already on the move the moment Kouen left his position. Going the other way he dashed forward with amazing speed. Blazing past the thief before he could notice and appearing behind the man. "Boo." The sudden voice from behind him prompted the man to stop in his tracks and turn around. He wouldn't get a good look at Seid before the black receiver pole was swung into his head. It made him keel over side ways and go tumbling into the mess that they created before. Instantly knocked out from the brute force. "Not bad for our first bust ay?" Seid said to Kouen.

Kouen was glad that Seid had indeed capitalized on the chance to take out the other guy, both of them effectively took out two of the robbers and from what his sensory could tell, there wasn't anybody else approaching or anybody else in the store aside from the four that's currently inside, so there wasn't any backup plans or anything, this was just a random robbery where the thieves didn't really think it out. "I'd say so, I wasn't expecting too much when taking out these guys but I'm still... disappointed, you know?" he was hoping to put his crystal release to practical use, but considering how sharp his crystals are he would potentially kill them if he went that route.

He started to look around the store for some rope or something to tie them with, he wasn't sure if the weapons store would have something like that but it would be worth having a look, and he wouldn't have to worry about keeping an eye on the thieves since from the looks of it, both of them are out cold. "Let's find something to tie them up with, to bring them in and make sure they don't try anything."

With the thieves defeated. The Genin were able to take a breather. Fortunately they were not well versed in martial arts or they could have given them a real problem. They didn't seem to be very good at being thieves either as Seid looked at the entirety of their sloppy work. Kouen mentioned that they were easy. "Yea they were pretty useless thieves. But hey, if we really had to fight we would have trashed his entire area. I wouldn't want to use my full power in the village. " As Seid knew very well his power would probably be enough to level the entire metropolis area. He could effectively kill every single person here.

A troubling thought but he pushed the thought out of his mind. Kouen also mentioned that they should find something to subdue these thieves. Seid just happened to look on the person he knocked out. There was some rope fastened around his waist. "Well it seems they had some rope on them. I bet they were planning on wrapping up anyone they found in here. Ironically it would be to tie themselves up."

Seid removed the rope from the thief and used his Kunai to cut it into pieces to bind both thieves. Seid would pick up one body create another clone to and send that one to hull the other thief's unconscious body. "Lets turn these guys in. The higher ups will recognize this catch for sure."

Kouen watched as Seid tied up both of the thieves, effectively subduing the both of them and it seems like their job was done, the only thing they had to do was just turn them in. He nodded when he talked about turning them in with the higher ups surely noticing the work. "For sure, I'll come along." as soon as the thieves would be turned in and they did anything else that required them to do regarding the case of the thieves, Kouen would head on home for the day with the mission complete.
