Sabotage

Hana laid in bed wearing her pajamas, being a long white t-shirt and her panties, wrapped up in her blankets. It was one in the morning when her alarm went off, her eyes breaking open as she swatted the alarm clock. It was unusual for her to be up so early. But today she had a mission. She moved quickly and quietly to throw off her bed covers and begin dressing up. She ensured her heater was turned on to prevent her from being too cold to leave bed and being demotivated. She'd toss off her bedtime t-shirt and swap to her tactical ninja gear. Hana wore long black stockings on both feet which extended up past her knees working as socks. A pair of heavy-duty black combat boots covered both feet made with exceptional craftsmanship and reinforced with steel toe caps and soles embedded in the leather. A set of heavy black pants were worn over her lower body. These were equipped with iron shin guards which were fashioned as bands going across her shins lined up next to each other leaving no gaps for weak points. The knees had hard plastic and cushioning backing it to allow ease of comfort when crawling through tight spaces. Hardened plastic was also sown into the upper legs and hips of the pants as well. Like all Shinobi she wore a utility belt to hold her pants against her body and carry her essential supplies.

A single blue holster was on the right side of the belt and a hip pouch around her back side just above her rear. Both were filled to capacity with ninja tools. A short sleeved undershirt was worn as her first layer. This shirt was one fitted with riveted steel mail designed to be flexible and lightweight providing protection and encumbering her minimally. Her second layer was a long sleeve black shirt similar in craftsmanship of the leggings. It was a heavy and durable top with steel rings sewn at the elbows in a cuff providing maximum protection at the joints. Rings of steels were sewn in at the upper portion of the torso as well providing protection at her upper chest and back and around her shoulders. This top was secured with the final piece of body armor being the Kirigakure standard flak jackets, this one made especially for Hana being much more superior in craftsmanship compared to the regular stock option. Black leather gloves covered both hands being basic in design providing warmth and protection. These came with small steel plates on the backs to provide protection against blades.

Hana wore a baldric over her gear to support a tanto she had horizontally on her back just above her hip pouch. This was sheathed in a blue scabbard which matched her Shinobigatana which was sheathed vertically on her back on her right side with the handle sticking up over her right shoulder. The entire affair was shrouded by a heavy black cloak, hood raised providing the most concealment and defense it could offer. Hana opted to equip her rebreather mask as well which provided facial protection and safety knowing what she breathed would be pure oxygen. Like most Kaguya her skin was deathly pale. This was coupled with long white hair which was relatively thick compared to the long, silky strands a lot of the more feminine clan females had, which required day-to-day dedication to maintain. Hers was a bit untamed and high in both length and volume extending as far as her lower back. Her eyes were the only true difference in her appearance compared to the rest of her clan having an alluring golden hue to them.

In ten minutes she was all geared up and ready to go. "Let's do this." She said in a hushed tone letting the rebreather mask demonize her voice giving her a rush of goosebumps. With speed and guile she made a break for her window which was left open for this mission. People were asleep as patrols just passed their block by giving Hana little time to complete her quest. Using chakra flow at her hands and feet she'd spider climb up the outside of her apartment to the next floor's window above hers. This was Daisuke's suite. She ensured her movement was flawless. Sticking her head up from the side of his balcony only high enough so her eyes could see, she spied through the sliding glass door into his room. She made sure to see if there was any light coming from the bathroom, and if not, if there was anybody present in the room. If the coast was clear she'd climb up and slide open the glass door.

Entering the room she was pleased not to get a lung full of stale smoke. The mask really did have its benefits. In fifteen minutes she'd raid his room and collect any tobacco product she could find laying around. This even included lighters and lighter fluid. She'd gather what she could in a trash bag, where it belonged. After being sure the room was clear she'd tie a knot and toss it to the balcony. Before she could leave she'd reach into her hip pouch and retrieve a small box before setting it on the table in his living room.



This, along with a pack of Skittle Flavored pods was her gift to Daisuke. Exiting through the balcony she'd shut the sliding glass door and take one more glace at the room ensuring everything was how he left it. Picking up the trash bag she'd leap off the balcony and land gracefully on the streets below. Tossing it into the nearest dumpster she'd leap up to her balcony and enter her room where she'd quickly strip back down to her pajamas and swaddle herself back in her covers as if nothing happened.

To Hana's fortune, Daisuke is a deep sleeper and wouldn't wake easily to the little break in she did, at least not until a few hours in the morning. She did everything as she did without any problems, it didn't raise any alert from Daisuke as he slept blissfully, and the apartment itself was a little messy but mostly retained a sense of tidiness. After a few hours passed by and Daisuke woke up, he stretched his arms, giving a light yawn and throwing his blankets over the side, walking around his room shirtless, but with black shorts on. Not that he was worried as far as he knew, since it's only him in the apartment.

One of the initial activities he does in the morning is to go out for a smoke, but he couldn't quite find his cigarettes anywhere. At first, he was calm about it, simply believing that he misplaced them somewhere but that's not something he does, as he usually leaves his smokes easy to notice so he started going through drawers, through the messes he made in the past few days and none of them were to be found. After his little panic of rushing around his apartment to find them, he finally noticed a small box in the living room. He slowly walked up to it and brought it closer for inspection, completely puzzled as to why it's even there. "I don't remember buying this... wait..." a realisation dawned on him, his smokes seemingly disappeared overnight and a JUUL is placed on the table. Only one person around here cared about his smoking habits to that extent.

He put a white shirt on, bringing his keys with him as he made sure to lock his apartment door behind him and rushed on to Hana's door, along the way, he made a little bump against Hiroji. "Hey Daisuke, you-" but an aggressive reply came from Daisuke. "Not in the mood gramps, save it for another time." he didn't even know if another complaint was made or if it was something else entirely, but Daisuke was just boiling at this point.

He finally went up to Hana's apartment level and knocked on her door, gently in consideration of the other people still sleeping. If he was only met with silence, he'd only continue to knock and knock until she opened the door. He wasn't in very presentable clothing, only having black shorts and a white shirt on, even being barefoot but he didn't care. He had to give her a piece of his mind, the one limit that's drawn is breaking into his apartment and stealing his possessions.

Hana slept like a bird after her mission completion. And like a bird, she was up earlier than normal. She planned ahead and made sure to sleep extra the day before so she wouldn't wake up groggy. Good sleep was key to her top tier looks and health. She laid in bed staring up at her ceiling preferring the coziness of her bed over actually starting her day. A few minutes passed in idol until a few light knocks were heard of her door. Deliveries were dealt with in the lobby, and six in the morning was too early for any business matters to be taken care of. Did he really catch on that quick? Her appearance was concealed enough to make identification extremely difficult. This meant he was most likely going off on a whim. But exactly how tenacious was he? After the first two sets of knocks she remained motionless in bed. She wondered if ignoring him was a good enough deterrent. As a smoker he probably had little motivation, which is why he never quit on his own. But after he assumption there was another set of knocks. This brat isn't going to quit.

Reluctantly she rolled herself out of her blankets letting the warm atmosphere of the apartment caress her skin. It had been two and half days since her last shower, noon being the official three day mark. The white pajama shirt she wore was a bit dingy now with specks of food from her meals over the course of three days. Her panties were saturated in her aroma being a bouquet of wonders for more perverted individuals or something very off-putting for the mentally sane. Part of her wanted to shower, but getting undressed and stepping into the running water was always a deterrent. Although she wanted to shower first before interacting with the public, Daisuke was at least someone who was aware of her natural laziness. Though despite her being lazy, the apartment had not really degraded since Daisuke last cleaned it. She made an effort to pick up after herself and run her chores since he did a thorough cleanup of the area. Aside from a moderately filled trash bin and a couple dishes in the sink the place was relatively spotless.

She'd walk barefoot to the door before ducking down just low enough to put her eye near the peephole. It was Daisuke alright. He was certainly up early. "Hello?~" Hana chirped in a cordial tone, almost suggestive to the events Daisuke experienced in his apartment. But she left it at that remaining behind the door that separated the two.

Knock after knock, Daisuke would not quit until he got a word with Hana. He rested on it a bit however as he started to hear approaching footsteps to the door, hearing that teasing voice of hers and it only further spiraled his already pissed off mood. "Don't play dumb with me, Hana. I know you stole the cigarettes." he wasn't playing around and he isn't going to do any of the "Master Hana" stuff either. "It's one thing to take my cigarettes, but to break into my apartment like you did? that is out of the question and completely low, even for you." he'd rather scold her in person, but this is the best he's going to get. "If you do something like this again, I'm going to move. I don't care how much of a nuisance it is, anywhere else is better than dealing with you." and with that, he got the last word in. If she were to reply, she would only hear his footsteps fade away. He'd go back to his apartment and go on with his morning.

That was a shitty start to a morning, a few insults here, a reality check there every now and then was something he can tolerate, but the idea that she broke into his apartment and believed it's okay is what riled him up. He's not even pissed off about the cigarettes, more so she went through such an effort to essentially torment him. He's trying to see her as a friend, that what she's trying to do is for his betterment but even he has his limits and one was definitely crossed today.

After he got back into his apartment, he'd stay in his clothes as it is since he felt a bit heated, deciding to get a bit of basic breakfast going. A bit of toast with butter and vegemite. A simplistic meal if anything, but it got his body going in the morning. He'd normally have a cigarette after the breakfast, but that wasn't an option now... in-fact, he'd take a smoke to calm down his nerves normally but with none of them laying around anymore, he'd have to calm down on his own.

If nothing else were to happen, his day would progress normally and he's certainly not in the right mood to see Hana again. He might look over this the next day or two but for now, it's fresh in his mind and he's not going to forget this so easily.

Hana listened to Daisuke went, unsure what route she wanted to go with it. Did she want to admit she broke into his apartment and sabotaged his drug addiction? Or was it best to just play it by ear?

"Oh golly jee! Somebody broke in your apartment?" She said, but Daisuke was already leaving when she did. "Wait up!" Hana stumbled away from the door and into her apartment. A shower would take too long, so she grabbed a pair of pajama pants and slipped them on along with a pair of slippers. She didn't bother to do much else with her appearance. Her hair was still a bit of a mess but she didn't want to waste any time. Opening her fridge she grabbed a two liter of Pepsi Max as a peace offering. She was meaning to use the soda drink for their sushi night with Tsukimi, but that event failed hard. She'd open her front door, which was left unlock by her own blunders, but made sure to lock it behind her when she left.

Rushing upstairs she opened his door, which was also left unlocked, trotting inside with Pepsi Max cradled against her bosom. A quick scan of the familiar apartment room worked to suggest to Daisuke that it was her first time in. "Huh.... alright. Your apartment seems to be in good shape. I thought you said somebody broke in?" Generally home invasions were done quick and messy. "Cat Burglars" were often rare. A thug would smash a window, rush in and take anything of value, and leave a mess for the victim. "Did they leave any trail behind?" Setting the Pepsi Max on the dining room table she'd make her way into the kitchen grabbing two slices of bread from Daisuke's loaf stash before pushing them in his toaster. Daisuke had zero proof of her doing the break-in, which meant it would be impossible to convict her of such crime. Unfortunately she was a Jounin, being an elite ninja. This mission was planned carefully avoiding patrols, witnesses, and common surveillance. In other words, Daisuke's claim was merely hearsay.

She had some major nerves alright, thinking she could go back into his apartment and act like nothing had happened. If he were calm, he might be able to deal with this rationally but without his smokes on hand and what she did still fresh in his mind, he wasn't quite as forgiving. Her trail question would only lead to a sarcastic remark from him, "No, it's almost like a ninja did it." making a look at her as he said so. She already made herself welcome at home, as she grabbed his bread to make some toast. He put his head down and placed both of his hands in his face, clearly frustrated. He just did not want to deal with this.

Still, he continued to keep eating his toast, showing a false sense of calmness. "I'm going to move and that's final." although it sounded like he said it to her, he's more so saying it to himself. Any self-control he has is out the window. "Why are you dancing around this? we both know you did it." that's the part that frustrated him most, breaking into his apartment and pretending like nothing ever happened. "So if I follow up with that JUUL box and check with an store owner on whoever bought that box, you're saying they won't talk about you?" that's probably the part she didn't take into consideration, unless she bought a JUUL box that was untraceable which he highly doubted.

Daisuke was convinced Hana was the suspect without any proof backing his statement. She wasn't the only ninja in the world. As he said he was going to move the toast jumped out of the toaster. "Moving is probably best. You know, if somebody breaks in your apartment, it's best to find somewhere else to live. It's a good sign the neighborhood is bad." Grabbing a plate she'd slather a good knob of butter over both slice of toast and a smattering of Vegemite. She was a soft cunt, so the amount she put on was minimal. She didn't even know what Vegemite was, but Daisuke's butterknife was covered in it so she figured it was a breakfast item. "I don't know what leads you to believe I took your stuff. Whoever decided to do that was probably very smart. You see, tobacco has long lasting effects. They were probably nicotine addicts themselves. They wanted their next fix badly so they resorted to burglary." Taking a seat at the dinner table she'd pour herself and Daisuke a glass of Pepsi Max to go with their breakfast. It was unlike her to have soda with breakfast, but she was trying new things today and figured to roll with it.

She'd take a hefty bite of toast as Daisuke spoke. The Vegemite stuff was...different. But good. Something to liven up a regular piece of toast that she was not a huge fan of. He mentioned JUUL, which was a product Hana was familiar with. I mean, of course she was familiar with, but before she researched it she was partially familiar with the mainstream vape product. "Oh my God they left you a JUUL?" She said in false astonishment. Getting up from her chair she would stamper to its location and pick up the box reading it. "Wow! This is a Red JUUL! I heard those are pretty rare and cost up to five thousand ryo. Look, they even left you some vape pods to go with it. If anything, you should be arrested for getting away with such a bargain, haha!" She'd bring the JUUL and vape pods to the table with her sitting back down in her seat.

Opening the JUUL box she skimmed the instructions before tossing them aside. "It seems pretty simple. You just plug in a pod like this...and it's ready to go! I don't smoke, but you certainly do. Try it out." She said pushing the product over to Daisuke with a grin. She'd consume to work on her breakfast while waiting for Daisuke to say something or try the vape.

If she was going to be so coy about it, he'd return the favor, adding a snarky little comment after saying somebody needed a fix for nicotine badly. "Well Hana, I didn't know you needed a smoke that bad. You could've asked me instead of breaking into my apartment, you know?" he was doing this for one of two reasons... one, to get back at her own game and two, he needed some way of venting and being coy right back at her is helping a little with the problem.

Although it was a little weird to have pepsi max with breakfast, it's not like he hasn't done it in the past before. He saw nothing wrong with it and took a sip from his own glass, it didn't excuse what she did, but it might be a bit helpful towards making it good between them again. He picked up the JUUL that she gave, pulling a "really?" face at her as she still continued to be so innocent about what happened, but he placed it back down, shaking his head. "I mostly smoke when I'm stressed, since I've calmed down a little, I don't need a smoke anymore... at least not at the moment."

He didn't have too much toast with his own breakfast, a few bites and he was already finished. He walked on over to his sink and just chucked the plate in the sink, he'll wash it later on. He's still a bit livid about what happened, but he's certainly better than how he was five minutes ago. "You ever had Vegemite before? you pulled a face when you took a bite before." the same happened with him, he made the mistake of eating vegemite straight from the jar and it tasted foul but after being told on how to actually eat it, his opinion changed pretty fast and it's a good breakfast item to have.

Hana ignored Daisuke's attempt of "revenge" if that's what he wanted to call it. It was a poor comeback with little validation to it. She clearly didn't smoke, so she took no offense. Even though she took away his cigarettes he was a bit reluctant to trying to JUUL. But his small talk led to a minor confession, which sparked an 'Ah-hah' moment for Hana. "You see? That's why you're addicted. You used nicotine to escape reality when you get stressed. Try to look at it objectively. Look at the people who work at Nin-Mart for the majority of their life. Do the smokers look happy? Whenever they get a bit busy they turn to their cigarettes for a bit of freedom." Picking up her glass of Pepsi Max she'd swirl it around causing the ice cubes to dilute her drink and cool it, as if it needed to be cooled any further. "That may not be you now, but it could very well be over time. A lot of people use tobacco as a problem solver instead of gathering their wits and dealing with it sober. As a ninja you are going to lead a very stressful life. Your lungs will be caked in ash by the time you're my age. And that's a fact. It's why I'm pushing for you to quit now. Life's easy. It's only going to get harder as you progress."

Taking a swig of her soda she'd set the empty glass on the table. After a short pause she smiled. "But, uhh, it looks like someone shares the same sentiment! To have left you a JUUL and gotten rid of your old tobacco and lighters!" She had realized she practically busted herself by being sentimental about the whole situation. It still wasn't a confession, but it damn might as well been. Her face tinted red just slightly in embarrassment as she shakily grabbed a piece of toast and chomped on it. "But this is my first time eating Vegemite. It's pretty good...like a meat spread but with the consistency of old motor oil. Saltier than I predicted. Mmmhm. Yup." She'd push the last bit of toast in her mouth to have full cheeks chewing slowly for Daisuke to carry the conversation elsewhere.

Although he knew very well that she broke into his apartment, and what she said just then pretty much sealed it, he decided to be fair with her on this one as she does seem to genuinely care. He wasn't sure why, but he would be lying if he said that he didn't appreciate the sentiment. He decided to see how much she really did care, an ultimatum of sorts. "Okay... here's a deal for you. I'll make a proper effort to quit smoking, but only if you admit that you did break into my apartment and steal my tobacco products, and you won't do something like that again." it's a fair deal, and he didn't plan on snitching on her. Considering the events of today, it's probably the best she's going to get.

He'd give her a bit of time to think about it at least, standing up from his seat to head into his room, though with a bit of raised voice, he would still be able to hear Hana if she wanted to keep talking. "Now that I'm livid about what happened, I feel like I need to walk a little bit, helps clear my thoughts aside from giving into smoking." whether or not that little walk would end up being a trip to the nearby store for cigarettes, rested on whether or not Hana decided to be honest.

Hana rolled her eyes at Daisuke's ultimatum. They were terms she could hardly agree on. "Of course I was the one who broke in. That's why you didn't hear me." Although she wanted to believe he was honest with his intentions on his deal, she wanted to make sure the conditions were up to her standards. "How about this: I will agree to not burglarize your apartment if you make an honest attempt to quit smoking. This means you must stick to using the JUUL for your nicotine needs. If you fail your end of the bargain, my promise also ends. And on top of it, I get to walk you around the city on a dog leash on all fours. If I break my end of the agreement you can decide what my punishment would be." This time around the odds were in her favor. There was little she had to do on her end, aside from resisting curiosity. There was plenty of ways to monitor Daisuke if he were to slip up and use tobacco without him knowing. If he were to fail, Daisuke would suffer severe consequences. His reputation would practically be ruined in the entire village.

"If you need to clear your mind, go ahead and try the JUUL. The nicotine content is less of that than a regular cigarette. So it'll get you just to round out those edges, but probably not a buzz." She was going purely off speculation. She figured since the JUUL pods were three percent in nicotine they would be less. Part of her was curious as to how Daisuke even benefited from cigarettes. Drugs generally had no effect on Kaguya. Nicotine constricted the blood vessels causing the high. A Kaguya's body would normally fight the effects of it resulting in no status on the user. She tried not to question it, as talking about tobacco in front of the kid would probably trigger his addiction.

Hana poured herself another glass reusing the ice still leftover. She'd work on cooking another round of toast for herself ready to slather it in Daisuke's choice spread. "Go ahead and enjoy your walk. I need to head back to bed to save my regular schedule. I can't imagine waking up at six in the morning every day." She'd spread butter on her toast and Vegemite making an improvised sandwich out of the two carrying the glass in her hand. "See you around." She said as a final departure before heading back to her apartment the floor below. After a tasty snack and refreshing drink, a nap actually didn't sound so bad.

He wasn't quite comfortable with using the JUUL just yet, but he's still planning on going for that walk. "Well... at least you're honest about it now, and I can agree to those terms." the reason why seems confident about it is because he's calmed down now, and doesn't have a need to smoke but when he starts getting stressed again, he is going to get a need to cool down and that's usually through smokes, he'll probably regret agreeing to this in hindsight but a deal is a deal, he's going to be a man of his word about it.

"I'll try the JUUL later, for now though, I still want to take that talk and I promise, I'm not going to walk back with cigarettes." he certainly didn't picture this outcome when he woke up this morning, but now he feels a bit indifferent about what happened... at least, deep down, he knows that this might actually be good for him. He just has to fight his urges and maybe it'll be like what Hana's trying to say, he'll end up better for it.
