While it wasn’t the largest city in the world it was most certainly the grandest. After all, what other city literally flew around in the air? She wondered how it was constructed. Her partner in Zero likely understood the science behind it all but to the woman it was so advanced it might as well have been magic.
If the person behind this city was capable of making a floating island then she had to wonder what else he could do. For her this was the perfect place in the world to hang out as right now it was the beating heart at the center of the entire continent of elemental nations. People and more importantly information from all over the place flocked here. What better place was their to uncover the secrets of necromancy?
Standing up from the bench the woman brushed off her pink dress and lightly adjusted her blond hair to make sure she was looking nice and presentable. It’d taken a lot of legwork to arrange the meeting she’d be attending soon and she didn’t want to ruin it by coming off as sloppy. If one were to look at this person they would never guess she was secretly Alkaid Kaguya and that’s just the way the woman wanted it.
As far as the world knew Alkaid was dead and she wanted it to remain that way. She wasn’t going by her codename in undercurrent Alpha as that would be far too obvious that she was working under an alias. No, now she was simply Astrid. No last name, no clan affliction to drag her down.
“Look after them.” She said to her underling Set who had been standing guard nearby while she rested. Taking a moment to watch the two small children that were playing around the bench she’d been sitting on just a moment prior she gave them a warm smile before moving off and heading towards the site of her job interview. She was looking forward to meeting the Grand Merchant as she stepped into the Tower that served as his home office unsure of what awaited her inside.
