Diana and the Massive Crafting Endeavor

It had been an odd time, first getting to Iwa, then meeting the Tsuchikage and the ensuing events. But she was now a personal guest, and she could work with that. Fir the time being she was trying to get acclimated to the more militaristic city, and while she still had some reservations, overall it wasn't that bad. But if she was going to help out, she needed to improve her skills as a craftswoman, and to do that she needed to get back into the world of crafting, and she knew just how to take care of that: Clay & Crystals.

Thanks to her Kotoshura lineage, she had a near-infinite amount of clay to work with, and due to recent events she had managed to find a way to permanently create Korikane crystal, though the latter was something she was still trying to efficiently reproduce without wearing herself out. Still, with her large pile of clay she'd sit down at her new workstation and went over her designs once more. Until she had a proper go-ahead to be able to go to the market, she wouldn't be able to make her desired kiln yet, but she could still prepare by making as many clay tags as possible.

Pulling out the tools she needed, she'd begin shaping the clay, wondering just how long until she would be able to make her kiln.

Diana will be crafting the following:

Having gotten through 2/3rds of her clay tablets, she'd look to her list of things she wanted to get done. With all of the work she was planning on doing another member of her clan informed her that she was now able to go to the market. Glad to hear this, she'd take a quick breather and head to said market, as while crystals and Clay were good and all, she still needed to rely on some items she unfortunately couldn't make yet.

When she got back she carried several assorted items, most of them metal. Looking at her unfinished Clay tag that she was working on, an idea struck as she spend several minutes creating a decaunit's worth of Korikane Crystal. She was fairly proud of herself when she had discovered a way to create a crystal with a molecular structure that didn't rely on her chakra, and when she had shown it to several of her...well they were technically family they were surprised, and one of the older members who had studied the unique degradation of their clan's crystals was amazed. She had chalked it up to her combined knowledge of chemistry as well as her Kotōshura Bloodline allowing her to understand the mechanics of entropy a lot better then those in her clan.

Looking at all of the materials in front of her, she pulled out her idea booklet and began sketching several items. Many of them if looked at by a regular person would probably seem ridiculous; absurd to the common ninja. But to her they were a possible solution to her plight, as while she was glad to be a guest, she still wanted to be able to leave the city and come back without the need to bother the guards and ask the Tsuchikage for more permissions.

Diana would step back and take another break from her nearly finished second LinkPearl. After finishing her Tags she had started to work on her crystals to make several items. Due to the strange way crystals worked she had figured out they could, when put under the right circumstances, generate electricity. combine that with the fact light could be used as a form of data she had made Korikane equivalents to many things you could buy on the market, but much cheaper and more durable. It made sense now why those of old had tried to sell crystal wares, but couldn't due to their deaths breaking down said items.

She still had a ways to go though. The LinkPearls were good and all, but what she really wanted was to make something that could truly impress the Kage. Taking a sip of her lemonade she'd draft up a large tower, making small notes about how it'd be able to interact with her creations. While it'd take a lot of permanent Korikane crystal, as well as possibly needing the reunification of the Clan, she'd be able to make a good chunk of the current communication system obsolete and pave the way for the Rebirth of Iwa. That'd really put her in good graces with her host. Setting down the lemonade and notebook, she'd get back to finishing her LinkPearl.

Diana looked down and realized she was running out of materials to work with and wouldn't be able to finish a second device, so instead of working on her Tombstones she switched over to her Linkpearls. It was foolish that she had lost track, but when one was absorbed into their work that tended to happen. But that was okay. She could learn from this. As she slowly tinkered on the small earring-like objects she found clever ways to implement technology into them. In a strange way, their weakness to certain frequencies of sound helped amplify how far they could pick up sounds, and within several hours she had finished the pair of pearls.

Moving on to the tombstone itself, her current pride and joy, she tried to think about how it'd work. the major draw of it would be to make freedom within the village while not overstepping the laws in place. While there was a good fear that she may need to modify future models with a tracker, in their current state it wasn't easy to do such a thing, but the concern was there. The design based off of a small television after making the basic wiring she'd send a small amount of light through to see if the screen worked, and after several more tests it was clear the touch-screen was going to need more work. Another thought came to her mind for a portable version, but that'd have to wait as she needed to complete this model first.

Making her final touches to her Tombstone Device, she'd smile as as she pressed the ON button and the screen lit up. putting a little chakra through her fingertips she'd test the screen, and after a few tried figure out how to get it working. It was an incredible piece of work, something the world had probably never seen before. And yet it wasn't ready. Until she had made a second one she'd have to hope the LinkPearls would be enough to work until she got more money to make towers. Looking at what she had made though, she was proud of herself, and yet even more ideas came to her. if she could convince the Kage with the tower that they should become a mass-market item, she could open a store and make even more money to assist in making more helpful day-to-day items. Iwatomics Incorperated sounded like a good name.

Finding she had no other work for the time being, she'd absentmindedly continue to make more blank clay tabs. As simple as they were, she had a plan for them, and if it really worked out she could possibly make a truly unique item, something that would amaze the masses. She had heard of the Grand Emporium and Dhark Industries, but with her many tabs being worked on she would be able to rival them eventually. All she needed was to keep at it and do the best she could in the hear and now.

"Lady Diana, a word if I may?"

Looking up from her work, Diana would see a Kotoshura she didn't know yet, but was holding a clipboard with a lot of notes.

"What is it sir?"

"Well, it seems that some of the Kotoshura who had left came back, and they brought with them a lot of ryo. As you are the acting head of the Korikane Clan within Iwa, we thought it be best to ask you what you would like to do with it."

Putting a hand to her chin, she'd ponder on what she could do with the money for several seconds.

"We will make a store."

"A store Lady Diana?"

"Yes. The thought has been brewing in the back of my mind for a while, and this looks like a sign that we should take. If we build a store we can increase the importance of the main Korikane line and perhaps use it to reunite the branch clan. It would also increase village and clan revenue, thereby making everyone happy."

"If that is what you wish Lady Diana, we shall prepare a spot within the district and await your orders."

Going back to her tablet, she'd quickly finish it up before drawing up plans for the store. She hadn't the foggiest idea on how it'd turn out yet, but no matter what she knew it could be a great start for a company she'd been thinking up: Iwatomics Incorperated.

"Lady Diana?"

The Red-Eyed woman turned around to see the man who addressed her, another Korikane clan member.

"Yes Mark?"

"The construction on the store is complete ma'am, would you like to see it?"

She'd nod, having stepped out of the construction around the end of it due to wanting to get a few more Clay tags out of the way. She had spent several days working on it, and while she wasn't there for the end of it all, she was pretty sure how it was going to look.

Turning the corner, she'd see it. Made of The same crystal she taught the builders how to use (albeit a weaker form of it.), it was a lovely Store, closer to more of a home and workshop combined, but it had several areas that she could use as places to sell he items.

"Do you like the small improvements we made to your design?"

"Yes, yes I do. As acting head I want the workers to take the rest of the day off and meet back here in three hours, bathed and well dressed. I plan on giving those who worked in it a treat in the form of a dinner."

"Very well Lady Diana."

Her very own store, and the start of Iwatomics was here. Now all she needed to do was figure out the logistics of how to make it all work.
