Diana's Backroom Crafting Thread

It had been a few months since Diana was last in her workshop, and yet, the projects she had been working on were mostly left in their spots. Sure some were clearly moved and not put back in quite the right spot, but that was due to the place looking clean, those dusting likely the culprits.

"So hon, now that you've had your break, what do you plan on doing now that you're back in the shop?"

The forgemaster Titania strolled up behind her friend and coworker, a shit eating grin on her face. She was still savoring the fact she had made Diana take several days off to refresh her mind, even if it was for her own good. Diana simply nodded in acknowledgement of Titania's presence, thinking about how to answer. There were many things she could do: reorganize the shop, take care of the order backlog she had to personally oversee, check on the Kinjutsu clay fish simulation, overall it was a lot she could do.

Diana entered another room, one that she had recently added onto the shop. In it contained a modified crystal incubator, a project she had been working on before her medical knowledge was ripped from her memory. Walking over to the pod she'd stare at it for several seconds before turning to Titania. "I think I have old projects that I should finish first. Have the other teams continue their tasks as before. Irena can be patient, as I want to make sure she will be welcomed in to this world properly."

She didn't even need to see her friend's face as Diana went back into her workshop, the sign enough to tell her that while the orders would be delivered, she had been hoping for progress on Diana's chef d'oeuvre. While yes, Diana could work on Irene, she was still waiting for a few more materials to arrive. Once they were here, she was sure she could make the dream a reality. So, with nothing much else to do, she'd sit down and pick up the old materials she had been working with, and got right back to it.

Crafting:

Diana stepped back as one of her researchers handed her a scroll with a symbol on it. Setting her multi-tool to the side, she'd unravel the scroll and find that it was finally completed. The math had checked out and her team had made the seal she had been dreading to apply. And not even a minute later, her best friend and voice of reason came bursting into the room.

"Diana, Are you sure you want to do this?!"

Diana slowly turned to her friend, and gave a thoughtful smile, filled with a nervous energy that said it all. "Honestly? By this point I do not think we have a choice. The seal is ready, and what testing we have done before hand has shown that this should work." Just holding the scroll, having just read and memorized it's contents, scared her. she knew fully well what this implied, and the possible harm it could cause to her. But she knew the risks.

Titania grumbled as she leaned back onto the wall, but didn't argue. "Okay, I just hope you know what you're getting into hon." It was clear she was just as nervous. She was one of the first people Diana had talked to about this plan, so she knew just what Diana was planning.

With practiced movements, Diana would place one hand onto her back, and another upon her chest. Slowly the seals would form, and the building began to shake. The First seal, the Proto-Imprisonment Seal, applied itself perfectly and she moved the now free hand to her back to try and make the process smoother. And then the main started. Titania quickly rushed over and held Diana's arms in place, clearly seeing the struggle oh her best friend face. Internally Diana wanted to scream, to cry out in pain, but seeing her friend do what she could to make the process as smooth as she could, even with her opposing the idea from the start, helped Diana push through with only tears.

The process took only about a minute, but when it was over, Diana collapsed, the seal on her back formed. A seal that would take her to a new world. Even now, she could feel the connection to the place, her nails taking on a dark green. It took her another minute before she could speak.

"Could you please help me back up? I think...I think I am going to need a moment to recover."

Titania did so, helping Diana back up onto her chair and giving her friend space to recover, but she did not leave the room. Diana in the meantime went back to work, her comfort.

Ignoring the angered voice of a beast she hadn't anticipated that was now inside her head.

Iwatomics Proto-Imprisonment Seal; Autoclaim

Diana was nearly finished with her work on the final multitool, all that was left was the fine-tuning of the springs and cogs. using one of her own completed multitools to expedite the process, she'd try to block out the mental buzz that had arisen every few hours.

The sound of Nue, and it's anger towards her.

During the first few hours, Titania had stayed nearby, making sure Diana was okay and that she had not in fact gotten herself possessed by a chakra demon. Diana had joked about how the only demons she needed to worry about were those who invested money into her work, but after her forgemaster had left Diana had spent a few hours just staring into a candle flame, the sounds of the Yokai's wrath in her mind. The seal was supposed to have stopped the beast from interacting with her, yet when she had examined both seals she realized her mistake: by using the Bijuu seal to protect her lifeforce from being smothered, she had created a stronger mental link between the her and the beast. It wasn't enough that Nue would be able to make Diana go mad from the revelations it could reveal, but it was an oversight that she had still brought upon herself.

Then she had taken a break to go to the Emporium, and instead did something extremely stupid and pained a target on her back. Yes what she did was for the good of the shinobi world, but even if the news hadn't spread completely, she had broken her promise to Titania, both women having burying themselves into their work for the past day to avoid taking about the near-meltdown Diana had caused. It wouldn't be the end of their friendship though, something as trivial as that was just another bump that would strengthen the bonds they did have.

Still, Diana knew that she would have to face the music eventually. For the time being though, she could escape back to what she enjoyed best, her crafts that would change the world not through destruction, but creation.

Crafting:

Diana set down the latest set of crystal bolts, their makeup just as strong as the should be. A lot had happened in recent days; her meeting with Chen, the Cockroach Cook,..Adam and Legion. Her shop had thankfully survived it all, but she had lost a lot of progress in terms of her research. But that was okay, she could still draw upon the memories of herself and others with her Kiokugan, and they could heal the wounds that had been made. Overall it would be something they could all recover from, something they could grow stronger from.

With a quick thought the nanites within the Hypherion Battery buzzed to life, and she'd draw them out to play with in her hands. She didn't tell Adam what exactly had occurred with the nanites, but an not insignificant amount had bonded to her; inert in the majority of their functions, but still there. Their uses were basically cosmetic by this point, she had found that when her battery activated that they altered her appearance to be more like her creations, lines in her skin would form and her joints became more doll-like. It didn't change how her body functioned, but the first time it had happened and she looked in a mirror, it was the first time in years that she wondered just how things came to this point. Fate had never been kind to her, but to bring her down from a somebody to a nobody, then to bring her right back to the forefront because she had a heart?

Every so often the thought of just running away and living a peaceful life came to mind, the life she once lived before she met Masaru Tatsudashi. Those days, even if she were to recreate them, were long gone now. The wanderlust was still there, but with her status as the Savior of the Shinobi World, that desire had to be pushed back down again and again and again.

Why here her hands wet?

Oh, she was crying.

Smiling at the release of all of the buildup from the past month, she'd let the tears flow, letting the emotion out as she sat there. In her mind she could feel the presence of Nue, just...there. Not trying to break the seal or to distract her, but instead observing; curious; wondering. Perhaps it too was mourning in some way whenever it roared in her mind.

Eventually the tears would dry up, and she would get back to work and have Titania prepare work for the rebuilding of Iwatomics Incorperated, but for that brief moment in solitude, she didn't feel so alone inside.

Crafting:

Diana stood outside of her shop. Making Iwatomics back to what it once was was not the easiest thing in the world, but it had been a satisfying project. The old lab was more or less back to it's usual self, and the signs of Legion's influence were hidden enough that those who didn't know wouldn't be any the wiser. Sure, there was more work to be done, but before she did so she would be stopped by Titania.

"Ah, hello Titania. What seems to be the rush?"

"Councilor Chen, that's what. I would have link pearled you, but I knew that this sort of information would be best left to be seen in person." Titania would hand Diana a scroll. "Read up, and you might want to take a seat."

Diana would do just that, sitting on a nearby bench she had originally made for when she could properly marvel her work. Opening the scroll, Diana would slowly read the contents.

Sunagakure's elders were culled, as well as those who resisted.

Titania was right that Diana should sit, as the mass loss of life was something Diana was not a fan of; the Shinobi War and Emporium Invasion more then enough death in her lifetime, and yet...he dared. It was the final indication that she needed to leave soon and visit the other villages...if she wasn't still stuck waiting for her request to be submitted. Until she had quelled the anger Nue felt for their situation, she did not feel like it was the right time to move. She needed to make sure that if anyone who was affiliated with the Emporium attack were to surprise her, she could survive and escape; or in the worst case scenario fight back.

Tiana would take several minutes pondering this new info before responding. "Thank you Titania. Go and take the rest of the day off, I will have one of the I.R.E.N.E Warmachina finish your orders for the day." Titania looked as if she wanted to say something, but she held her tongue and left, letting Diana ponder for another hour before heading back into her workshop.

More work needed to be prepared.

Diana sat down in her old workshop, the place still as clean as she had left it the year prior. Some things change, some things stay the same. As much as she would have liked to reminisce, she had work to do. Gathering some of her staff, she'd have them begin work on the easier items to create while she began work on the big ticket items.

Having received notice that his gear he had requested from Diana was complete, Masaru would move quickly Iwatomics Incorporated. With his scheduled travel quickly approaching, the arrival of the message came not a moment too late. Upon arriving he would wait for Diana to come out of her workshop and ask what she would like as payment and when she told him what it was that she wanted though surprised did not object. quickly generating 30 units of Tetsudashi steel that she could use for future crafts. With a quick thank you from both parties, Masaru took his leave and returned to the Tetsudashi manor to finish his preparations for his journey.

She had finished the crafts and was out of the area when Masaru had picked them up, but when she returned she'd quickly put the tetsudashi steel into storage as she got back to work.

Diana looked at her workshop, the tools she used to use everyday having been untouched for several months. Even after she told Titania that her personal workshop could be used by anyone who requested it, no one ever did. Perhaps it was due to the respect the held for her, or maybe it was because she was Kage, Diana didn't really know, nor was she too curious to look into it. It was just...one of those things she knew better then to look into.

This was going to be the last request she was going to work on in a while given her planned pilgrimage to the various Ninshū historical sights as well as the major villages, but Iwagakure needed someone to be able to defend itself while she was gone. Yes Masaru was the second in command, but he was currently out of the village, Tatsuya was still ill, and everyone else was too weak.

God she hated the fact that people couldn't be weak and still live in peace without a guardian like her. At least they had the I.R².E.N.E Division to slow down any advances.

Lighting up the kiln, she'd unseal the materials for one of her greatest creations to date; the Gourd of Wonders. A simple enough creation really, the problem was making sure that she got the balance right, as without her Tetsudashi blood she had to mold the steel the old fashioned way; not that she minded. It brought her back to when she had just arrived and was trying to fill simpler orders, trying to find her place in the village despite being an outsider. And in a way, she was still an outsider. Yes she was born in Iwagakure and was their Kage, but the fact she didn't get the leadership position because she was in their Military still bothered her.

A lot of things still bothered her actually. Perhaps, just perhaps she could work some of them out, just like how she would work the raw materials into a masterpiece of Iwa & Suna unity.

Putting the final touches on the gourd, Diana would take a moment to appreciate her handiwork. It had been a good bit since she last got to work on such a unique request, and while she couldn't exactly test the gourd, she had been able to get in a Kazehana or two from the clan district to at least test the parts that involved magnet release directly.

Placing the gourd to the side, she'd write a note and place it on top before having a messenger go off to have Shigo pick up her new tool as one of her subordinates finished work on the Iwatomics Pulverizer, having recently pulverized some of the various metals she kept within the shop with it for the gourd.

Jounin Kazehana Shigo,
As requested I have prepared this gourd for you, please make sure to read the operating instructions on the back of this note so you can get the full use of this tool. In addition, I apologize for not having more things prepared for you, but due to pressing matters regarding the expansion of the Kishin Alliance, a pilgramage for my faith, picking up the possible new head of Iwatomics, as well as needing to update my information regarding the other villages leaves me with little time to talk.

In the gourd is several metal grains of various qualities; including tetsudashi steel and chakra draining metal, and in the back room I have left a high-powered pulverize that can be used to grind down just about any metal you need. I trust you will find good use for it.

With all of her preparation work finished, she'd head on out, her plans heavy on her mind. There was much to do after all, and the longer she waited the greater chance issues would arise.

Using Player Owned Shop to instacraft x1 Iwatomics Pulverizer, as well as turn x1 unit of tetsudashi steel, x1 unit chakra draining metal, x1 gold, and x1 iron into particles (to be stored in the gourd)

Shigo looked down at the letter that Diana had wrote out for her about the gourd. Moving the note of her view, she saw a wonderful gourd that was in pristine shape unlike her old one. ‘A pulverizer, eh?” She thought for a moment before setting the note down and walking over to the gourd. Shigo was genuinely impressed with Diana’s work, never really doubting her skills but rather never seeing her work. She would hold the gourd, feeling it a bit light, even with the amount of materials Diana had given her.. Shigo took the time to transfer the sand and particles into the Gourd, and place her hands against the gourd, activating the Kinjutsu and attuning to it. It felt weird but at the end, she felt one with her new equipment. Shigo would grab the pulverizer and place it on her hip, locking it tightly. And with that, she would take her leave.
