Chel Phone

Rini was sitting at her home, trying to plan some designs. She wanted to come up with some new blueprints, and was fairly bored, so she called Chel.

"Hey. Go check on Damien, see if you can see some of his designs so I can get improve his shit a little bit."

Chel rolled their eyes but nodded, flying out Rini's window and travelling to Moonspire. Its lightspeed travel for communication was incredibly useful. Chel returned in moments, anxiously trying to contact Rini.

ⵀⴻ'ⵙ ⵓⵏⴷⴻⵔ ⴰⵜⵜⴰⵛⴽ!

"Well don't just float there, go tell the freaking Raikage!" Rini hoped that Ryuko was either smart enough to understand Mende, or Lawful Good in nature, but given what she knew, that wouldn't be a problem.

Chel flew to the Raikage's office, through the window and buzzed anxiously.

ⵎooⵏⵙpⵉⵔⴻ ⵉⵙ ⵓⵏⴷⴻⵔ ⴰⵜⵜⴰⵛⴽ!

The message would be transmitted to Ryuko's mind, and due to her intelligence and alignment, there was no doubt she would get the message loud and clear. Moonspire was under attack.

Chel is a Divine Messenger in every sense of the word. They can travel at the speed of light to any point around the world to deliver messages on Rini's behalf. Unfortunately, Chel doesn't really "speak". They resonate and through this resonance they can communicate ideas. Generally one needs a base Intelligence of A-Rank to understand this OR they must be Lawful Good (their history, actions, and general personality must comport with what is considered lawful good or close to it). If a person doesn't fall into these categories they can't really understand Chel. They can pantomime and play charades but other than that they don't speak nor can they write anything. Chel also can't understand human speech or writing. Thus, Chel's ability to communicate with people who don't fall into those two categories is severely diminished

Ryuko had been in her office doing paperwork and mulling about how to deescalate the situation that had developed between her forces and Kohanas.   She had gone to the Land of Earth in order to try to negotiate a trade deal only to find Iwa under assault from the Mountain alliance.    She’d ordered her forces to step in to help stabilize the situation in hopes of earning the Tsuchikage favor only to discover a terrible truth once they were already neck deep in the thick of it.

Konoha had been using the Mountain alliance as a front. She supposed it was their way of  discreetly trying to take Iwa back after the nation that had formerly been under their banner had asserted its independence.    Only there was nothing discrete about the way the Hokage himself had gotten involved.  

They hadn’t declared a formal war on each other but after clashing like that even if only inadvertently they were now about a hair’s breadth away from one.   Any second now it seemed like fighting could break out at any moment.   Sure enough just as she had been worried about Chel burst into her office to inform her of the bad news.

“Dispatch Shimiko and Nariko to Moonspire immediately.” She ordered her secretary as she decided to play two of the strongest cards in her hand immediately without hesitation.  Moonspire was Damian’s town.   The man was responsible for much of their technological advancement over the last year and was indispensable to her future plans which meant he had to be protected at virtually any cost.

“Assemble the rest of High command for a War console at once.  We need to put together a second defence wave as soon as possible.  We also need to  prepare a strike team to respond to the source of this attack once we can confirm who’s responsible.”  She barked out more orders one after the other.

For all she knew this could just be a diversion so she had to be careful about not sending too many people out and weakening the main village but she couldn’t afford to sit on her hands idly either.
