- Athos Raikon was born as one of the last members of the Raikon Clan, a group of nomads that traveled the lands around Sunagakure. The man grew up in the harshness of the desert, learning what he could from his parents before they died. One thing that he was taught before they died, the one thing they taught him: 'Never go to the village'. With that thought in mind, one of the first things that the boy had done was go to the village.
In the years after his parents' death, he would continue to live in the dunes despite having the chance to move into the village. There was no denying that the village had weapons, tools, and supplies that would make his life easier in the desert... And he didn't plan to deprive himself of that. At first, it started with the youth bringing the excess of his bounty to the village, though as years passed things became more involved. Soon he was collecting herbs, hunting animals by request, and accepting their currency for it. As time went on, even Athos had to admit there was no reason to not enjoy the good things the village had to offer.
It wasn't long before Athos was known among the more common folk of the village a person who helped them get supplies for generous fees, or a stalwart guard while traveling through the deserts. As it currently stands, he's done his best to not get involved with the Shinobi of the village and stick to the small people while enjoying the things in the village. While he could live in the village, he doesn't and owns a shack somewhere in the deserts.
Personality: Athos, despite not living in the village, is just like any other person. He keeps a very lax aura about him as he goes about his day-to-day business, though he is infamously known to go crazy over new cuisine. He cares a lot about the little people and tends to keep people at a casual distance, being friendly with them but not really letting anyone get past his initial layers. He hates senseless violence, but that doesn't mean he won't get violent against others if the situation calls for it.

Did the rain always feel this heavy when it came down? As Sojiro had been standing atop the trees, he had a solemn moment to look upwards and think about things for a moment. As Genkumaru would move from the tree branch that the man was standing on, he listened to his friends and the heaviness in the words that were behind them. Earlier in the day, Sojiro had be engulfed with panic and worry, concern for his friend and afraid that he was going to make some mistake that couldn't be fixed. But, as they followed after Hikari Usagi, Sojiro had begun to think of everything as a whole. What were they doing right now, trying to beat the Blaze to Hikari? Then what? Sojiro's chest filled as he took in a deep breath, his eyes sliding close.
Why had Hikari done it? Sojiro knew that Hikari Usagi didn't attack the village, he knew that whatever the Bunny had done wasn't out of spite or malice. Hikari was a pacifist and hated conflict. So just what had caused him to do this? Was someone after him? Was he on the run? If that was the case, then why didn't he ask them for help instead of running away? Sojiro hadn't picked up on any extra scents since following Hikari, meaning that the rabbit hadn't been kidnapped and framed for this. That meant that, regardless of what had happened to cause Hikari to do this; he was guilty. Hikari had caused some minor damages to the hospital and the wall around the village; frightening the people in the process but surely it wasn't worth death or some capital punishment... Right?
As Genkumaru had taken his stance a bit in front of Sojiro, his arms fell from his chest and would hang limply at his sides. Sojiro thought about Kenji for a moment, his friend but he wasn't from Sun, no... He was from the Moon. If Hikari had done something that could get him in trouble, there was a chance that by getting involved Kenji could get implicated just because of village allegiance. Depending on how things went, the two of them could find themselves in some type of deep water and all Kenji was doing was trying to help his friend. He was willing to piss off both villages to help his friend.
Kannagi and Genkumaru were a slightly different case, as much as he hated to think about it, the Sun was more likely to be more lenient with their own shinobi than others. Whatever happened to the two of them could be bad, but it wouldn't compare to Hikari and Kenji. There had to be some way to make sure things went better than they were because as it stood, they were on the road to ruin and there was a line they were about to cross. One that couldn't be uncrossed. His friends had entrusted him on this mission... Mission.... He kept saying that word but this wasn't a mission. In a frenzy of their emotions, several people had chased after their friend ahead of the village to try and get there first. This wasn't a mission. And yet they still trusted him. And yet all of them were more than willing to make the sacrifice and pay some type of consequence to help Hikari...
When Maruku had landed in front of Sojiro, 35 meters away since Genkumaru was 30 meters, the Sun Shinobi would slowly turn his solemn gaze onto the man. Sojiro's face was not a defeated man or someone who was conflicted with their decisions. He listened to the man's words, watching as he took off his mask and Sojiro would make sure he didn't forget his face. Or his scent. He may not know this man's name but he would never forget Maruka Kenku. Considered his enemies? If they were marked as his enemies, then that meant everyone else on this rescue for Hikari was perceived the same way. And that confirmed Sojiro's biggest fears, that everyone was suddenly at a much larger risk than losing Hikari in the forest. They could incur the wrath of the village in the process.
Sojiro wasn't afraid, he didn't experience fear often but in this moment he had been struck with clarity. He listened to the man's pride in the village and their duty, Sojiro respected that but he didn't have the same love for the village that he did. Sojiro had only been in the village for seven years and while he was grateful for his new upbringings, he accounted that to Ren Sakura, his adopted father and not the village. Even so, there was no denying that he had found a place where he was unhindered. But, with his friends he found a place where he could be himself, expose the vulnerable parts of himself and try to expand as a person. Genkumaru, Kannagi, Kenji, and Hikari had shown him things that he hadn't felt before, the type of pride that a wolf felt in a pack. They filled him with a need to want to do better, to be stronger so that he could be there for them. The man would move forward, landing on the branch next to Genkumaru and muttering a soft, "I'm sorry, Genkumaru." And with that, he'd move from that branch and to another. He'd be standing 28 meters from Maruka and 2 meters in front of Gen.
His friends had been willing to suffer the wrath of the village to save their friends, to go against their word, and risk everything they had for Hikari. Sojiro cared for Hikari, loved Hikari even, but to risk everything they had? Sojiro didn't think Hikari would want that, actually, he thought Hikari would be mad. But even so, they had done it. His friends were willing to incur the wrath of the village to save their friends.
But Sojiro....
Sojiro was willing to incur the wrath of his friends to make sure they got out of this in one piece.
The man spoke firmly, his voice bellowing out over the rain and filling the air, "And what if instead of stopping you, I helped you?" The words would ring true and perhaps cold to Genkumaru, but Sojiro was solid in his resolve, "Would you give your word to pardon the others on this escapade? Can you give me your word that if we stop this now, that not only will Genkumaru and Kannagi be fine, but the others as well. I understand Hikari may have something to answer for, but will you give me your word you'll let me defend him to the village?" The man spoke his terms clearly and bluntly to the member of Blaze, but in no part of it, did he ask for pardon for himself. If the man would agree to help the others, Sojiro was willing to pay whatever price he had to so the others could be safe; even if they hated him for it.
