Contract Name: Pact with Shumisen [Meru]
    Type: Artifact, Spirit
    Specimen: Landmass
    Culture/Lore:

Mount Shumisen, located at the apex between the Lands of Fire, Earth, and Wind, is considered an ancient holy site  to the Monks of Kishin. At its summit, the reclusive Mikiri Clan from the Land of Lightning are believed to have once maintained a temple  and primitive observatory. The mountain became synonymous with Earth Monks, who believed the mountain itself was the summit of something greater that had only just pierced the mortal world-- Meru, the home of the God Brahma. Diverging sects believed that Shumisen was the throne of Shiva. Nevertheless, Monks continued to ascend its slopes to reach enlightenment at its summit, and prove their mastery over Earth Release.

Shumisen is a great, and terrifying mountain in its own right. Unusual in its structure, it emerges steadily from the surrounding land with a gradual incline. Topographical maps reveal that the mountain itself appears to be a gyre; a massive spiral in the land, twisting into a steep, terraced summit. This spiraling mountain weaves dangerous dunes,  razor-sharp outcrops, bubbling pits and twisting canyons into itself.

Once-gentle slopes have eroded way to treacherous "Canyons of Impermanence". Unusual stratigraphy showcases massive cliffs, with veins of metamorphic rock wound into the mountain in bizarre undulating, swirling patterns with veins of ruby, lapis lazuli and metals. The mountain rapidly transforms into a steep, conical structure, with its underlying minerals becoming stranger, and stranger to science. It is said that the closer once gets to the peak, the further one strays from the mortal world. It is believed that the Mikiri Clan's observatory  rests upon the so-called 'Throne of The Gods"

Monks of the Land of Earth have mapped the mountain extensively, denoting them with unique Yojijukugo, or four-character-idioms. The most famous example is the Canyons of Impermanence or "Uitenpen", describing the fleeting shifts and changes of human life. The "Okamehachimoku", or "Bystander's Vantage Point", is a massive vein of raw etherium, tethered by plant-life that floats in the air. More treacherous still, are the quicksand like features of "Suiseimushi" ("Idling Life") , a ring of fluvial debris shaped into dunes at the mouth of the canyons. The fabled "Corpse Soil", a unique material that reanimates the dead, can also be found within the twisting paths of Mount Shumisen.

    Element(s): Earth
    Designated Skill:  Ninjutsu
    Summoning Method:

    Earth Release Summoning

The first and foremost requirement to utilize Mount Shumisen, is to first traverse its hazards. The Summoner must carve their name into each of the features after conquering them. Only after mastering each of the geological features with their own Earth Release can it be brought forth in battle. Each Summoning must be linked to a corresponding Earth Release technique (ex. Earth Style: Impermanence summons the Canyons of Impermanence).

Summoning is conducted in a manner similar to all others-- Handseals are woven, blood is drawn, and a summoning mark is placed on the ground. Instantly, Mount Shumisen's  feature will explode violently onto the battlefield, using existing earth as a medium. It will upheave the land, carve trenches into the rock and destroy standing structures.

    Unique Abilities:

    - Cartography:  Requires Fuinjutsu. Cartography grants the caster the ability to use a large fuinjutsu scroll to produce a topographical map of the battlefield. Whenever an opponent steps into the range of Mount Shumisen's structures, they appear on the map denoted by the color of their chakra signature. From here, the caster can use this scroll to set or trigger various traps or features within the landscape. Note, this effectively grants a form of sensory, but only if 1) a Large Fuinjutsu Scroll is being used, 2) the user possess Fuinjutsu (-1 SP), and 3) the user has unlocked Mount Shumisen, and only works within Mount Shumisen. Cartography cannot be used outside of Mount Shumisen on any other landmass.

    - Field-Effect:  Mount Shumisen is a land mass, not a living creature. By default, it has no intelligence, stamina, strength,  coordination, or perception.  As a landmass, they are allowed to place these unused stats into Constitution. Because of this, it does not not obey the Summoning Stamina rules (ex. So long as the caster desires, the summon will remain on the field once summoned).

Each of Mount Shumisen's structures must be removed from the field by either 1) destroying the structure, 2) By defeating the user, 3) By utilizing "Contract Seal" or sufficient sealing technique, 4)By destroying the Monk's Tablet at the core of each structure.

    Requirements:
Summoning is conducted in a manner similar to all others-- Handseals are woven, blood is drawn, and a summoning mark is placed on the ground. However, with Mount Shumisen, the Summoning is also an Earth Release Technique (ex. Earth Style: Impermanence). Instantly, Mount Shumisen's  feature will explode violently onto the battlefield, using existing earth as a medium. It will upheave the land, carve trenches into the rock and destroy standing structures.

Once such example is "Earth Release: Mutability" which summons Uitenpen, the Canyons of Impermanence.

    Drawbacks:

Mount Shumisen is weak to Lightning Release. It can be destroyed or sealed. Additionally, Mount Shumisen's structures must be summoned on the ground. They cannot be summoned at sea, or in the air (The exception being "Okamehachimoku"). All structures of Mount Shumisen cannot possess Intelligence,  Stamina, Perception, Coordination, or Speed. They are restricted to Constitution as the only true stat.

Can only be summoned with Earth Release. Cannot be summoned with Advanced Elements for advanced-element versions (ex. a Steel Release mountain).

Materials generated by Mount Shumisen, such as Etherium and Corpse Soil cannot be mass-produced or replicated by crafters and cannot be used outside of contract holders.
