Reaching the Divine Gate: Enlightenment Empty Reaching the Divine Gate: Enlightenment

Somewhere on the surface of the moon, a black void would appear. Emerging from it, Arisu stepped through. Her first journey off planet, and she was wearing a Kirigakure standard uniform, along with her legendary blades, but her pale skin, hair, horn, and Rinnegan identified her as a non human.

Lighting down on the ground, Arisu took a long look around her. Silence permeated the area, different than it had been on the planet she now called home. Even at its most quiet, there were always other sounds to hear, ambient noise of animals, but here, she was alone again for the first time in her life.

Gravity felt weird here to her, noting that everything was much lighter. While she didn't need to breathe, she was intrigued to find that she could if she wanted to. The existence of air on the moon was a confusing one to the Otsutsuki. As this object existed in space and seemed to be devoid of life, she wasn't quite certain as to what was creating any air here.

Leaning down, she picked up a handful of the dirt, letting it go, watching as the low gravity let it hang in the air a little longer than it would have on the earth, but it settled none the less. Watching the small swirl for a few minutes, she eventually began her search for several medium sized rocks.

It took her a bit longer than she'd expected. It wasn't that traveling was slow, it was just that the rocks she was searching for were rather elusive. Because erosion didn't really happen up here, different sized rocks weren't readily available. She didn't want to just make some using a jutsu either, that would be cheating and wouldn't be in the spirit of her search for a more natural selection of gift rocks.

A thought occurred to her that the Moon had several pock marks on its surface, presumably from other celestial objects crashing into it over time, and that was what she needed to find. Any of those craters could have a decent chance of having sprayed debris across the face of the moon. Leaping into the air, Arisu did a slow motion spin in the low gravity, getting a good look all around her to find the nearest crater of almost any size, and when she landed softly back on the ground, she took off towards it in small bursts of hops, practically floating most of the way.

As Arisu continued her search for decent sized moon rocks, she might happen to see a few blinking indicators in the distance. The blinking lights were metallic poles jutting out from the Moon's surface at three meter intervals. The strange objects delineated a border so long and all-encompassing that one would need to be capable of flight to see it all. If Arisu was so intrigued, she might perhaps follow these embedded staves. If she crossed the border, Arisu would be subject to splitting headaches that would get worse the further in she entered. If she opted to press forward then her curiosity would lead to an encounter with....

Arisu would likely notice that as she ventured along the demarcated territory, the air around this portion of the Moon was thinner. She might even need to use her latent abilities in order to maintain consciousness.  A mysterious individual was patrolling the border along the staves. He was garbed in a black trenchcoat and donned a set of futuristic armour. Rather than wielding the forbidden object depicted in the above art, the mysterious man carried a bow with a light that seemed to blink in synchronicity with the metal poles. Behind him were a group of soldiers that were similarly dressed and armed. A breathing apparatus obscured his face and allowed him to operate in the atmosphere-challenged section of the satellite. Nothing regarding his appearance could be seen. The neon red of his gas mask flashed as he turned his head towards the interloper.

In a blur like movement, the Mystery Man drew his bow and his compatriots followed. The arrows that were notched appeared to have been crafted from the moon's surface itself and when slung into the bow a slight buzz was produced. With each arrow aimed at the alien, the leader of the outfit spoke in a loud tone. His voice was distorted and coming through the speaker it sounded like that of a demon.

    "Halt! Go no further Ōtsutsuki."

In the far off distance, lay an industrial city. It was beyond the boundaries of normal sight but the noise of thousands of machines working day and night would be audible even from this great a distant. Something was being built here. Something terrible.

The markers were what caught Arisu's attention. In a desolate landscape, seeing a blinking marker really set off her curiosity. As far as she knew, she was the only one to step foot on the Moon besides perhaps the Sage himself. Abandoning her search for the perfect rocks, she opened up a portal into her hotel room, simply putting her hand through with several rocks and dropping those onto her bed.

With that dropped off, Arisu went on to explore further, intrigued by the markers. As she crossed the threshold though, she immediately became aware of the splitting headaches wracking her head. However, she was blessed with the ability to self heal currently, and even further than that, she activated her Six Paths Sage Mode, increasing all of her abilities and enhancing her self.

With her SPSM, Arisu's forehead down to below her eyes and the bottom half of her horn turned completely black with a jagged pattern edging it. Her Rinnegan activated as well, enhancing her sight in addition to the increased perceptive ability granted by the Sage Mode. Her horn had nearly doubled in size and thickness, gaining a bit of a curve and wrapping back towards the back of her head.

With that done, her headache subsided slightly, the increased constitution of her body allowing her to feel less of the pain from the headache, and the automatic regen granted by her body working to reduce the headache as it came in as well. Traveling forward, it wasn't too long before she began to see signs of life, and it wasn't long before they noticed her as well.

Drawing their weapons at Arisu, she debated fighting it out, but seeing how drastically she was outnumbered and with no knowledge of the technology and skills they had at their disposal, she simply paid attention to what she could see and hear. A quick sweep of her eyes over the group, and she frowned.

"The Moon is not yours. Vacate it while you can."

It was rare that she offered a threat, but the Moon was a platform that would allow her to monitor the planet it orbited and was more or less her birthright as the Goddess of the planet. This was her Divine realm, and these interlopers had desecrated it. The hubris of man held no limits. Lifting a hand, she opened up a portal in front of her, obscuring their vision of her as well as protecting herself. Stepping through, the portal would vanish with her no longer on the moon.

Her destination: Back in Kirigakure. She needed to check in with the other Princesses and get an update on their situations as well anyhow, but this information truly was troubling.
