Description: Head on down to the Hozuki Fisheries and lend a hand. Work at one of the fisheries for the day, pulling in nets with the days catch then sort the marine line and get them ready for transport. Don't hesitate to bring a friend or two to lend a hand.

This mission was overall going to be fairly boring Valen knew. Mostly because he had already done it before. However it was his turn again and so long as he was a genin that meant he would keep getting the mission so long as he kept going to ask for them. Helping in the Hozuki’s Fisheries wasn’t a bad gig really. Valen had plenty of experience working with fish from his years in slavery. Every sailor ate the stuff after all. So he had gotten really good at hauling in catches, cleaning, cutting, and even cooking them. Although he would only be hauling the catch in today. Normally he would wear his full shinobi garb of a black pair of shinobi pants, black compression shirt, cloak, his sword, and his headband. However because of the task and the high likelihood of having to hop into the water he just wore his black shinobi pants, headband, and his weapon. His feet had simple and easy to kick off sandals. This all left his torso bare to the world and his scars were obvious and visible to anyone who saw.

He arrived at the fishery ready to begin and waited for his mission partner to arrive. He was the lead on this mission as well he was told and that meant he was in charge of guiding the mission to a swift and decisive completion. Which really just meant he was in charge of making sure whoever he was assigned knew what they were doing. Which would be easy enough, he had been here before after all and knew all of the ins and outs of hauling in fishing nets and transferring the fish into the containers.

Takara, as per usual lately, was walking up behind Valen at about the same time. She had stopped hiding from him at the Mission Assignment area and instead just opted to walk in with him and get assigned the same mission right there on the spot. Despite the weird nature of their comradery in the beginning, the dark-skinned woman was getting more and more comfortable with just dealing with Valen directly. She knew where he stood, knew where she stood, and it was as simple as getting the mission done and over with. Fish were easy, and being the primary element that Takara could wield, it was even easier for her, and she could even go so far as to simply use her jutsu to refill different parts of the hatcheries if she really needed to.

Once they arrived, as Valen kicked off his sandals and such, Katsumi too rid herself of her outer layer, revealing a new swimsuit she had been wanting to try. Sure, it revealed a little too much, but her other one had torn so this was what she had that was actually decent, and she had this one made much stronger than the other, so it would also last a lot longer. Using her headband as usual to keep her hair back, she moved towards the first pool and began to get to work. This was the third mission she and Valen had done together, and they were starting to work more and more as a team and getting the missions done far faster than either of them were capable of alone, and it wasn’t as lonely, at least as far as Takara was concerned. She wasn’t certain if Valen felt that sort of loneliness or preferred to work with her, but she hoped he did.

With the arrival of his mission partner, whom had actually just walked in to get the mission assigned to her as well this time, Valen would nod. When he kicked off his sandals, leaving him in just black shinobi pants for attire she would remove her outer layer of clothing. Revealing a new swimsuit that, admittedly, drew the swordsman’s eye toward her. He felt a surge of desire build up in him but simply let it pass over him like a rock in a tide. She had stated where she stood in regards to that kind of action and he himself had too. He doubted he would ever feel the kind of emotional attachment she needed to be comfortable and she stated she wouldn’t want it any other way. So he turned his gaze from her to begin his work. He moved to the first pool he had and began to work, pulling up the nets and hauling the fish in. Then he would quickly pack the fish into the containers before closing them off, and setting them aside for someone to pick up. He moved with a quick and efficient manner, given he had done this precise mission before and had done the work for over a decade prior.

Every once in a while the net would snag onto something in the water hold fast. When that occurred Valen would simply smoothly dip into the water, swim down, and unsnag the net before coming back up and continuing. If one looked closely at him when he got back to work they would see faint wisps of steam rising from him as he used his fire chakra to dry himself quickly. The day went by swiftly and easily with Valen giving any necessary tips or answers to Takara if she needed or asked for any. Every once in a while he would check on their progress and nod in satisfaction before continuing on. They were well ahead of schedule at each point and the day actually ended early for them as they had met the packing quota they needed to meet well short of the time limit. The final container was packed and closed and men came to haul them off to a nearby building. With that Valen would turn to Takara, reaching a hand out to her. “Dry?” He would ask simply, if she accepted and let him lay a hand on her, her shoulder in particular, he would utilize his fire chakra and dry her immediately. If she didn’t he would nod and put his hand back down. Either way afterwards he would comment. “Let’s go report in.” He would say, before leaving for the mission report desk.

Takara had noted how she had drawn Valen’s eyes when she had gotten ready to do her work, but didn’t seem to react, at least outwardly. Inside her mind, she was swelling with pride because she was glad that he found her attractive; as much as she hated to admit it, she found him attractive too. Now, there was the issue of him never being able to really bond with her the way she wanted, but that was something that the dark-skinned Genin hoped that she could build over time. His ability to respect her wishes in that regard was something that only made his standings in her mind even higher, because most of the men she had met had been sleezeballs or slaves to their own lusts, and had to be quickly dealt with. She also had to admit that her hormone-driven body wanted to explore and try things, but she kept it well in check to ensure that she didn’t fall into the same category… she couldn’t. That wouldn’t stand for her own morals, and would completely contradict what she wanted in who she hoped would be a friend and a romantic relationship.

Getting back to the task at hand, Takara was able to quickly and effectively round up the fish without netting; using her Water Jutsu she was able to ferry them where she wanted using concentrated changes in density, something fish could feel more than see, and use that to handle things. It was completely unneccesary for her to get into the water to do this, but she did anyway for two reasons; first it allowed her to better direct the Water Wall she was using to corral the fish and liked the way it felt on her skin, and second, she hoped to continue to draw Valen’s eyes from time to time, and the shine on her dark skin when wet was certainly eye catching. Once they were finished, Takara met up with Valen again while carrying her clothing, and normally would have simply used the water-chakra to whick the moisture from her, but his offer was one that she was curious about; the ability to push that chakra into someone else for such a useful effect was something that she would like to experience. With a nod, she felt the heat course through her and the steam rise for a moment, and had to admit that it was far better in feel than her own method. “Thank you.” And then they moved to turn in yet another successful mission.
