    The Labyrinth Empty The Labyrinth

    The Labyrinth has Awoken

A extremely powerful entity that has laid dormant since before the dawn of man, it has been awoken now and has begun to reach back into the world to once more to influence humanity for its own amusement.  It is a living maze to any that discover an entrance in the wild, which seems to conveniently appear only to those who truly have something to offer the Labyrinth. At the center of the Living Maze, however, is a spectacular area called Sanctuary.  It is a sprawling city with crystals in the roof designed to replicate the day and night cycle and consists of several major areas that will draw a considerable amount of attention.  The maze itself being alive is also very particular, and quite greedy.  To gain access to the Labyrinth, you need the Layrinth's Favor, and it works in a very particular way; you will enter and exit from the exact same place no matter what path you take, and also it will always take roughly an hour to navigate between the city of Sanctuary and your Gate, and there is always a price.  For a single person, round trip, it is 100,000 Ryo, but there is no time limit.  Spend as much time as you'd like in Sanctuary, but this method requires your character to not make any new threads until your time in Sanctuary is complete, although you can have as many threads as you have thread slots in Sanctuary until you leave.  Similarly, when you leave, you cannot make any new threads in Sanctuary until you return.  A village or other large organization has another option, and that is a full blown Gateway.  For the modest price of 10% of your organization's income BEFORE expenditures, you can make a permanent Gateway between your organization's headquarters and the Labyrinth, and anyone who is inside can travel to and from at will with the Leader's Blessing and using the Gateway Thread just like they would a Village Gate.

    The Arena
Disputes are often enough settled here, and the rules are very simple.  If there is a debate between two peoples where some might call a vote to decide between them, it is instead decided through combat.  There is no ‘representatives’ or anything of the like; if you think you are right and they are wrong, you better be ready to get your hands dirty.  Rules are decided between the combatants, but the Arena is in the very center of town, a large circular staged area with Greek style columns and a floor made of sand and stone with a small but very deep pool of water in the center.  Most often, this is how the role of Arbiter of the Arena is decided, and the Arena is ruled exclusively by whoever holds that title and is granted compensation by the Labyrinth.  Betting is authorized for any fight, and is actually required in order to watch.  The combatant’s combined renown x100 is the prize pool split between anyone who bet on the winners, but bets must be made during the first post rotation, but you do not have to be present to bet, only within Sanctuary.  10% of the bets go to the Arena before the split amongst winners is decided.

    The Cabal
While certainly home to many things that bring about pleasure for a price, the most notable of these is the area devoted to gambling.  Ruled by the Master of Games, a position the Labyrinth entrusts and compensates to hold order and continue to bring wealth to Sanctuary.  There are several games that players can participate in.  Owing a debt to Cabal can be very detrimental to your health, so pay up or you will be looking over your shoulder for the rest of your life.  This is placed in a ring around the Arena, surrounding it completely as the inner ring.  There are also many hotels and such for people to stay and makes a simple commute to most of the rest of the city.

    Roulette
You bet as per normal Roulette rules, which is linked here.  1D37 will be rolled with the forum dice-bot, with 1-36 being normal, and a 37 meaning 0.  As a bonus, if you win a bet on 0, you gain 10 free Lottery tickets!

    Lottery
For 10,000 Ryo, you purchase a lottery ticket that is valid for one month and pick 5 numbers 1-100, and at the end of the month the owner rolls 5D100 rolled with the forum dice-bot.  If you get a perfect match, you win the prize pool which increases by 5,000 Ryo per lottery ticket.  If no one wins, the pool continues to increase until someone wins.  Prize pool at the beginning of the month will be no less than 1,000,000, or a special prize that is approved by Staff and presented by the Master of Games.

    Bingo
A Bingo Ticket is generated using this website and posted in your first post in the Bingo thread.  There will be a minimum of 10 people playing, non-players filled by NPCs who all have a card as well, which will be posted in a spoiler once the first posting rotation is complete by the thread creator.  A D75 is rolled with the forum dice roller and Bingo is played until someone wins.  Purchasing a Bingo Card costs 10,000 Ryo, and the prize for winning is 100,000 Ryo.  You can purchase more than one card to increase your odds.  This is meant to appeal to younger audiences, but winning more than a single Bingo in one turn earns you 10 free Lottery tickets!

    Craps
Using the rules found here, 2D6 are rolled with the forum dice roller for the dice per posting rotation.  Winning 6 rolls in a row earns you 10 free Lottery Tickets!

    The Spire
The Arbiter of the Arena and Master of Games only answer to two positions in the Labyrinth, one of which being the Labyrinth Entity itself who is all but considered a god to the majority population, and the other being the Scion of the Labyrinth.  The Scion is the undisputed ruler of Sanctuary, and from the Spire, hovering over the Arena in a jet-black pylon.  The Scion, most often, is the only one to speak with the Labyrinth Entity itself, and is the one tasked with ensuring the laws are enforced.  The Labyrinth provides substantial compensation for the one who holds this title, but it is not one for the weak; both the Master of Games and the Arbiter of the Arena can challenge the Scion for his title, but you must serve one of those positions for a minimum of 6 IRL months before declaring your challenge.

    The Fountain of Youth
Despite it’s name and the fact that there is no official title to the one in charge, no one disregards the leader of the Fountain of Youth, known as the Forsaken Cleric.  This is the Sanctuary Hospital, and is known far and wide to be one of the most influential outside of the Big Three simply because they have the right to refuse treatment for much of any reason to anyone.  This mentality has lead everyone to respect those who work here.  It takes up an entire district of the city, leaving only seven others.  Any player injured in the Labyrinth can be healed here for only 10,000 Ryo with the exeption of exceptionally greivous wounds.  If a Player Character takes up the role of the Forsaken Cleric, they can grant a whopping +10 to rolls for transplants on top of any other modifiers that they have already for the price of 1 million Ryo, but requires Base S rank Intelligence and Iijutsu to be considered for the position.  The Forsaken Cleric nets half of any profit made by the Hospital.

    The Districts
If a village, or even an individual, is interested, they can purchase one of the seven remaining districts of the city to build in, which provides a multitude of benefits in exchange for an additional 5% income cost tacked onto the Gateway cost.  First, all Black Market shop options become available, and includes A-Rank basic items.  Weapons, armor and all the like, per item, cost 15,000 per item or set, but being A-Rank hardness and quality is a boon for anyone who doesn't have access to a good crafter.  Second, this allows the organization to begin to use their Organization Funds to gamble, or an officially designated representative.  So when that special item comes up on the lottery and you want it for your Organization, you can now use the funds to try to win it![/u][/u][/u][/u][/u][/u][/u][/u]
