Focused Training!

Yasuka stares down at the technique scroll in front of her, a simple D-rank technique meant to be a signal flare for others to find the user. Of course, she'd already let the guards of Ground One know that she would be practicing such a jutsu; she didn't want to cause a false alarm the first day of training outside of the Academy. In any case, the jutsu was obviously a simple one that didn't need much thinking, which made it quite perfect for an emergency situation anyway. She leaves the scroll open with a couple of small stones resting on the edges to keep it from being blown away by any stray gust of wind before she stands up. This way, she can read the scroll while she's training the technique.

After only a few practice runs at gathering Raiton chakra and focusing it with a single handseal, Yasuka builds up some lightning chakra before thrusting her hands upwards to the sky, throwing up a single bolt that launches skyward for 50 meters, just as planned. Satisfied, Yasuka nudges the rocks off the corners of the scroll and rolls it up to put it back in the library she'd borrowed it from, carefully brushing off the dust from it as well.

Yasuka returns to the training grounds with another scroll, setting it down with another set of rocks on the corners to allow the scroll to stay open, though this one is slightly different; it's one of the village scrolls containing a few jutsu that are unique to Kumogakure, though there was only one she could find that she thought she had the capability to learn. It was a fairly simple technique that was apparently meant to allow her to improve her jump height by creating a small platform to jump off of in the air.

She stared down at the scroll while she did her best to focus on how to best use the technique that required no handseals, but was just focused chakra to the bottom of her feet, similar to the Water Walking skill. Yasuka took a deep breath and then hopped up, bending one knee to reach a pinnacle before imagining pushing chakra from the bottom of her foot. With a burst of effort, she thrusts her foot down onto the ephemeral platform of chakra, using her meagre strength to jump off the platform to reach higher up than her initial jump. After landing a couple feet from the scroll, she gingerly dusts it off again and removes the rocks to roll it back up. She was certain she saw one more scroll, though it wasn't a jutsu exclusive to Kumogakure, but merely a commonly used technique...

Yasuka returns one last time with a third scroll, though all this running around was getting tiring; she considers only now that she should probably just grab the scrolls she needs before going out to the training ground, and she chides herself silently for not doing so before. This time, however, she moves closer to one of the streams nearer the gate to Ground One, since the scroll she'd selected had been a Suiton technique, and it would be much easier to use such a technique closer to natural water. Instead of pinning it down and risking ruining the scroll or its ink, she reads it carefully and memorizes the instructions before closing it and setting it aside.

Focusing her chakra through only a couple of handseals, quick and simple, Yasuka draws on her Suiton chakra this time, then extends both arms forwards, palms facing out, and she opens up several thin streams of water that shoot out from her skin. It's really not very impressive, but she maintains her focus. The water mists out of her hands freely, making a layer of water that softens the heat of the day, at least in front of her, where she can feel it on her face and on her dark skin. Then she cuts off the supply of Suiton chakra, and the mist gradually dissipates before being blown away completely by a gust of wind. She starts walking back, feeling quite proud of herself at training up three jutsu in a single day... even though they were very simple ninjutsu.

Yasuka at least brings all three scrolls she'd found this time when she comes back to her usual spot for the training grounds near the stream; she'd learned her lesson from the last time she'd come to this spot to train. This time, she hoped there wouldn't be any interruptions... She still had to become Lightning's servant for an entire day, but at least for now she might be able to get a few more jutsu under her belt, and she'd already picked out three that looked promising.

She set the first scroll up for her to be able to read it as needed for training, not allowing it to roll back up while still being legible while she trains and maybe perfects the technique. This first one would likely be the most important for her continued improvement, particularly with Ranton. She studies the scroll carefully, but this technique seems only too simple for what it promises; Yasuka just has to try it and see if it works as well as the scroll claims. She performs the handseals quickly for the Lightning Strike technique, but ends with an additional Snake handseal on the end before shooting off the Raiton chakra, the attack blasting out faster and with greater range than when she'd used it against Lightning.

Yasuka rolls up that previous scroll and replaces it with a different one; this one was apparently a technique that Lightning had used on her to temporarily increase her speed, at least in a straight line. The technique seems more simplistic than she'd thought it would be, but it was clearly worth learning; if it could be used to reach her more quickly, it could also be used to get away from an attack. Hopefully.

The genin focuses her chakra into the bottom of her feet, somewhat similar to the Jump Step technique she'd already learned, but now focused against the ground to provide Yasuka with something more like a launchpad powered by chakra, rather than a simple platform for her to jump off of. She performs the single half-handseal to focus the chakra more firmly before launching forwards, gasping at the speed she attains with such an easy technique before she stops and turns back towards the scrolls. She presses her foot into the dirt, focuses her chakra and performs the half-handseal again, this time with the other hand, to sprint back to the scrolls, feeling like she should be able to get this technique off fairly quickly at this point.

Yasuka rolls up the Body Flicker technique scroll and opens up the last one she wants to train today, one that she thought was fairly simple and also quite useful. It seemed like the kind of technique that should have honestly been taught to Academy students; a technique to allow a ninja to escape from a genjutsu, should they find themselves hit by one.

Of course, now that she reads the scroll, she realizes that maybe the technique should be left to people who know how to control their chakra; focusing chakra to the brain sounds like something that might not be safest for Academy students that don't have full control over their chakra just yet. Regardless, Yasuka reads through the scroll fully, and then sets it down again, carefully reading it while she's molding her chakra again, focusing it inward before she clasps her hands together in a single handseal, focusing the chakra to her own brain and imagining expulsing any foreign chakra from her. Obviously, there isn't any actual foreign chakra to expel, but there's not much she can do about that; but she's followed the instructions on the scroll, and she doesn't feel like she has a headache or anything broken, so it seems to have been performed successfully.

Feeling accomplished, she makes sure to clean up all the scrolls before rolling them up and heading on out of the training ground once again. Although Yasuka wasn't sure if she was looking forward to being Lightning's servant for a full 24 hours...

Yasuka brings her first three scrolls given to her by her clan compound for study to the training grounds, keeping them locked away temporarily in a locked and padded scroll carrier that she was expected to return to the Inazuma clan compound as well. The pulls the first one out, this time far from the stream; she didn't want to risk any water getting on the scroll and ruining it. She opens it and sets it on the ground, using small rocks to carefully ensure that the scroll doesn't roll back up on itself.

Yasuka recognizes it as one of the first of the Ranton beginner techniques for the Inazuma clan, one that should prepare her for some of the other more advanced laser beam techniques. The genin stands and performs the handseals, holding the final Rat sign as she feels the unmistakable and unique sensations of Raiton and Suiton chakra combining and interacting inside her before combining synergistically. This was the same sensation she'd felt when she'd been shown how to do so by the clan head. A ring of Ranton chakra circles around her combined hands, and she further focuses it down into a single point, and almost when it felt like she would lose control, she willed it forwards. The resulting laser shoots out at speed, but she sees it approaching a tree only a few feet away. With a bit of focus, she wills it downwards again, just like when she'd willed the laser forwards first, allowing the laser to firmly plant itself into the ground, where it would neutralize itself... but not before digging almost a foot down. She ends the technique, dispersing the ring of Ranton chakra and rolling up the scroll.

Description: Seen as the official 'beginner' jutsu for the Inazuma clan for those just learning the ability to create energy beams, this is a basic Ranton jutsu, the user forming the hand signs, holding the final Rat sign as a Halo of energy surrounds their wrist, before focusing into a beam. This beam is like Laser Circus, but weaker, and unable to split into multiple beams, always 1 solid beam but able to bend like Laser Circus can. For an upkeep cost per beam, the user may fire 5 beams in succession, but they fire in straight lines with no control over their direction.
Weaknesses: Wind jutsu D-Rank or higher will nullify the jutsu.

Yasuka unrolls the next scroll. Although this one is somewhat weaker than the technique she originally used to help coordinate the Ranton chakra into a laser, the woman who ran the Inazuma clan technique library had suggested the other technique first, to ensure she knew about how to make lasers with Ranton chakra in the first place.

With the next scroll pinned down in the same way as the previous one, she was able to read it while standing, and she stands up in order to do so while she's able to perform the techniques in a more active position, the way she'd probably have to make use of the technique if she was standing. She performs the single handseal that the technique calls for, once again mixing the two chakra natures inside her in order to produce the Ranton chakra needed for the technique, then simply thrusts the chakra produced out of the palm of her right hand as she shoves her hand forwards. A single, quick laser beam similarly thrusts out of the middle of her palm, although fairly weak, but still capable of causing some meagre amount of damage. She does it twice more before she no longer feels the Ranton chakra stirring; she'd made just enough to make three quick laser shots.

Description: A basic Ranton jutsu, something easy to teach to or learn by a newer Ranton user. With a single hand seal, the user will thrust out the palm of their dominate hand, and fire out a fairly quick energy beam in a straight line. This energy beam is mean to be a quick defensive tactic rather then a focused offensive attack, although it does have a sting. The user may fire up to 3 of these in succession off the original Hand seal, but each use has the activation cost, maxing at 15CP for all 3 uses. If hit it will reduce the victim's Coordination by -- for 3 rounds.
Weaknesses: Those with Fuuton chakra are able to ward off the debuff more quickly, only effected for 1 round as their chakra fights off the effects. Those with B Con or higher are un-effected by the fairly weak beam.

Yasuka rolls up the last scroll from her clan, but instead of a third clan technique, she pulls out another one from the regular Kumogakure library, though this one had not been used much. It was one of the more basic techniques, though it seemed that not many people were willing to learn it to a great degree. It would likely help her quite a bit, since she often wasn't the type to want to be seen or noticed.

The technique is a fairly simple one, and doesn't even require handseals, although there is a little warning in the scroll that using the technique would result in the user not being capable of utilizing ninjutsu until their chakra is no longer suppressed. Still, she sits on the ground and focuses on her own chakra, slowing its transfer speed down and down and down, until her chakra was completely still. Almost trance-like with her focus on her own chakra, she folds it deep within herself, making her chakra completely invisible as well. She notices that her breathing has also slowed considerably, likely from all the focus on suppressing her own chakra signature, and then she releases the technique again right away, allowing her chakra to move about freely once more. This technique should prove useful.

Yasuka quickly packs up her scrolls and leaves to return them back where she got them. This was a very helpful training excursion..

Description: This technique allows the user to suppress their or their allies' chakra to the point that it becomes completely undetectable. This makes it impossible for sensor type shinobi to track them via chakra. This technique is very useful in the sense of allowing the user to infiltrate the enemy's ranks undetected.
Weaknesses: The use of this technique is restricted to only those with the sensory skill. Also generally, since the user is suppressing their chakra they may not use techniques except for Taijutsu, Kenjutsu, Bukijutsu and Kyujutsu C Rank Techniques and below. However, specific custom techniques may be registered to allow the user access to certain individual jutsu that can be used while Chakra Suppression remains active.

Yasuka returns to her usual training grounds once more, carrying three more scrolls; this time around, she doesn't try to set them on the ground at all, and instead hoists them up onto a tree branch near the stream, ensuring that she's near enough to be able to use the water for the Suiton jutsu she had in mind, while also keeping the scrolls from the ground. Luckily, all three techniques are rather simple, so she can hang all three next to one another with the ends of the scrolls still several feet above the ground.

She starts off with one of the more simple techniques, one that should help with her rather weak physical defenses, at least compared to ninja with better armor. Of course, this wouldn't be much help against any spars with Lightning, but it could prove useful for stopping someone with more physical-based attacks. Yasuka performs the three handseals in rapid succession, then expels Suiton chakra out over her Kumogakure vest, letting the chakra nearly solidify into something similar to armor as it reinforces the protection of the vest she was already wearing. With the technique done, she pulls out one of her own senbon and pokes and prods at it to test the protection, and whistles once when she sees that it's quite good at keeping her safe. Then she lets go of the jutsu, allowing the Suiton chakra to disperse and drop the water to the ground.

Description:
After the user forms the handseals rat-ox-dog, they expell a small amount of chakra which will act as a coating of water over their torso (also over any armor they'd already be wearing). If the user is not wearing any armor, it will temporarily grant a boost of 1 tier their constitution or grant an extra rank of quality to the worn armor of the user to a maximum in constitution and armor quality of B rank.

Weaknesses: As it is a suiton element technique, when this coating of water is in place, any raiton element technique now has a 100% chance of leaving severe burns whenever they hit due to electrocution.

With that done, she carefully reaches over and rolls up the scroll, ensuring she won't be reading across it and mixing anything up now, while also letting her know how much more training she has to do. Yasuka comes to the next scroll, reading it over quite a few times and then feeling that it was a bit odd that she had to expel the water from her mouth instead of anywhere else. Still, the human body was made up of a lot of water, so there was likely plenty for her to use...

She points out one of the nearby dummies to herself, and uses it as a target for the technique after making sure that there's not anyone near it to get hit if the technique should go awry. She performs the handseals in a quick fashion, focusing the chakra into her stomach and kneading it into Suiton nature chakra. Then she opens her mouth wide and allows the Suiton technique to rocket from her open mouth to strike the target right at its center. The dummy is blasted with water, but Yasuka tries holding it to keep shooting off more water, holding her focus on the technique in order to continue the technique for a moment longer. Finally, she ends the jutsu and closes her mouth, spitting some leftover Suiton chakra to the ground as she looks at the soaking wet field in front of her and the splintering dummy barely holding on to the support.

Now there's only one technique left, and she had planned for this to be the last one anyway; the water all over the ground was now perfect for this final technique to be much easier to train, although she would need to spew out water again like she had for the previous technique. At least this one was a bit different.

She focuses once more on kneading the Suiton chakra within her while performing the two simple handseals needed for this technique, focusing the Suiton chakra into her stomach and letting it build for a moment. Then she opens her mouth once more, but instead of focusing on the target she'd previously shot with her new Water Bullet technique, she shot a much sticker liquid all over the ground ahead of her. While this might seem quite gross to anyone else, it at least had a purpose; still, a voice in the back of her head hoped that nobody could see her practice this particular technique. Once done, the ground was littered with a sticky substance that could trap someone that wasn't aware of it. With her job done, Yasuka carefully cleans down the field to make sure none of the sticky substance remained before she packed up her scrolls and simply walked back out. Training was done for the day, at least.

Yasuka returns to her usual spot, once more carrying three scrolls for her to learn from. This was getting easier every time, but it was also getting more tedious every time she did this. Even so, learning more techniques would only make her a more versatile and stronger ninja. She hoped.

The genin reads out the first technique and wanders off towards a punching bag, normally the type that would be used by a taijutsu ninja. Luckily, it was late enough in the day that nobody was there this time around, so she could train a few techniques specifically made for close distance; she would need these kinds of techniques, clearly. As if the spar with Lightning didn't immediately prove it... She reads through the technique one more time before setting it back down, having rolled it up and set it aside in case she needed to read it again. After three quick handseals, she raises one arm high into the air and then grabs firmly onto the leathery punching bag. Yasuka feels the Raiton chakra building inside herself before she feels the energy rush directly through her and into the punching bag, blasting it away from her.

Of course, she doesn't have much time to celebrate her successful technique, and moves out of the way of the returning bag before picking up the second scroll and having a read.

It takes a moment for the punching bag to stop swinging, long enough for Yasuka to read the scroll through completely before this one is also set to the side to rest with the other scroll she'd just finished learning from. This was another one that was best used on the punching bag, not that she would be punching particularly hard; even Yasuka knew her own weak points in regards to combat.

The genin performs another three handseals in rapid succession, focusing Raiton chakra throughout her body and then culminating that chakra into her hand before moving it down to her waist, clenching her fingers together into a balled up fist. She knew the punch wouldn't be particularly strong, but maybe she could make up for that with the power of her ninjutsu... Yasuka twists her body towards the punching bag and delivers her first actual punch at the bag for the first time since her short years in the ninja Academy. Although her fist barely even makes a dent in the sandbag, the resulting Raiton chakra blasts the sandbag back much harder than she would have been able to do with her own punch. Once more, she dodges back when the punching bag makes a return, but she feels a little more confident in her chances against a close attacker.

Yasuka picks up where she left off with the final scroll, lifting it up and then reading through it to make sure she's getting the information down in her own mind. She figured she should go ahead and add another ranged attack to her repertoire as well; she couldn't get by with only a few Ranton jutsu and the Lightning Strike technique.

She sets aside this final scroll after reading all the way through its contents, dropping it with the others before turning once more to the punching bag, now swaying just slightly from the last hit. Yasuka was surprised she could still see the dent where her last hit had struck it, having impacted the sand inside to a degree that it was no longer completely able to hold its shape from gravity. Nevertheless, she makes her handseals and then pushes Raiton chakra outside of her body this time, forming a ball made of pure Raiton chakra in each hand, though they weren't particularly large. The genin takes aim at the punching bag and throws first one lightning ball, then the other in quick succession, one hitting the bag and knocking it back a little just before the second one strikes the bag as well, and the combination of both lightning balls striking the bag causes the rope to finally snap, and the punching bag lands on the ground in a heap, now practically destroyed with ninjutsu in ways that taijutsu had apparently not been able to.

Embarrassed, Yasuka rapidly grabs up her equipment and rushes out of the training grounds to return the scrolls back to their rightful place.
