Culture/Lore: The Spirits of the Long Forgotten are a summoning contract that ties the user's soul to the Spirits themselves. The spirits are normally ethereal creatures with no physical form. However when summoned by their contract holder they create a form for themselves using whatever is necessary. Be it provided by the summoner or simply made use of by the spirit in question.
Spirits will fashion temporary bodies for themselves out of the bones of long dead warriors, simple dirt and mud, or even clothing long lost and buried beneath generations of earth and debris. These temporary bodies form the physical mass of the spirit in question and give them the ability to interact with the world once again. Generally to assist the current summoner or their apprentice if there is one.
Spirits themselves are typically land bound entities and as such have no ability to fly whatsoever. So no matter what they have to work with in terms of body they may not fly. At best they can hover a meter or so off the ground if their body has no real mass. Such as clothing, but that’s all.
This contract is a contract of servitude and the Spirits hold immense power. Those that sign it however are also making a sacrifice themselves as when they die their spirit becomes attached to the contract. Ripped from the pure world and forever thrown into a separate realm of tortured souls that the contract calls from. As such the spirits called from the contract are previous contract holders themselves.
Spirits called from the contract are easily distinguished by their ethereal greenish glow and bright red eyes that guarantee to anyone watching that something is off. Some spirits use this glow as a catalyst for illusions. Others use their own tortured screams or even the screams of others.
Summoners that sign the contract have their eyes glow red when any summon is out or have them turn red in moments of personal excitement. This is simply evidence of the link between the contract and the summoner. Although one could infer the fate of the summoner in the end if they are clever enough.

Summoning Method: The Summoning of the Spirits of The Long Forgotten is a simple process of performing the normal five seals one normally accustomed with the summoning technique with a small blood sacrifice.
Unique Abilities:
Spiritual Beings: Spirits of the Long Forgotten are essentially spirits that have taken control of bones, clothes, and other such things. Generally typing themselves to whatever they have taken control of. (Be they a specific article of clothing, or the various bones, etc.). Because of this they care little for physical damage. Damage from Fire however is much more potent, fire being known as the ‘spiritual destroyer’ in most forms of lore. Due to this, Spirits take 1 tier less damage from physical attacks. However Fire and Lightning Release will do 1 tier more.
Spine Chill: The Spirits associated with this contract are given physical form in skeletal, and otherwise ghostly methods. Such as the possession of clothes or even items. Due to the otherworldly, undead nature of the beings involved it is generally a terrifying experience to fight against them. Due to this, psychological damage caused by Genjutsu of the Spirits of The Long Forgotten affects the target as if the target's Intellect stat is 1 tier lower than it actually is. Because of this however, escaping the genjutsu is a more ‘desperate’ act and the intellect stat of the summon in question is considered 1 tier lower for the purposes of the target's attempt to dispel the genjutsu.

Drawbacks: The drawbacks to this summoning contract are simple enough. First, the user has tied their very soul to the contract and as such the bond is much ‘deeper’ then what one might consider between a contract holder and their contract. The user, in tying their soul to the contract has fated themselves inexorably to also serve that contract forever when they die. Breaking the contract will do nothing to stop or prevent this. As choosing to have the Spirits of The Long Forgotten dooms you to serve them when your time has come.
Flavor text aside, holders of this contract will never be able to be resurrected if they die. As their souls will not be within the pure world. Instead they will be pulled into a realm where their soul is torn and ripped asunder over and over again in endless agony until they have no memory of their former selves beyond their combat capabilities. Only when there is a new contract holder will the pain temporarily cease. Causing the souls to always want there to be a holder of the contract.
