| Back at the training grounds. She probably lives here and should probably ask Tengoku if she could build a small house here at the training grounds. Or at least a small campsite with a library of jutsu scrolls with how often she comes here. She had a little bit of time off, so she was going to use it to her advantage. Until she becomes a Chuunin and can take on higher ranking missions, she was stuck just sitting here at the training grounds. Taijutsu was the name of the game today and Taijutsu was what she will learn. She had focused far too much attention on Raiton and her clan techniques that she completely let her own taijutsu, her primary method of combat, slip through her fingers. The very first scroll caused a large sigh and grumble to escape her lips. "Why is this a thing?" she asked as she read the scroll, placing it down and pantamiming the hand position. It was just her clasping her hands, as if in prayer, and sticking both of her index and middle fingers up, pressed against each other. She mimicked the movement, thrusting her body forward and extending her arms all the way out. "Place this in the opponent's... what!?" she shouted out before looking at her fingers in complete and utter disgust. She released the grip upon her hand and stood up, kicking the scroll away. | "Body of the Bear? I've never heard that one before," she mentioned to herself. She read it over and nodded her head. It was simple enough, but she needed someone to actually hit her to see if it worked. She looked around for a moment before getting a 'eureka!' moment and formed a single handseal, causing a shadow clone to appear. Her shadow clone poofed into existence directly next to Airi and she prepared herself. "Okay! I need you to hit me with a strong punch. Right in the gut!" she said hyping herself up. The shadow clone shrugged her shoulders, wound up and punched Airi directly in the face, knocking her down upon the ground. Gripping her cheek, she started to shout and chastise her own shadow clone. "My stomach, you moron! My stomach!" she shouted out as she stood up and stood in the horse-stance, waiting for the clone to punch her in the stomach. Again, the clone wound up and blast her in the stomach. Just as the impact was going to land, she hardened her body before the clone recoiled in pain, waving her hand before Airi fell over, face in the dirt. This caused the clone to instantly vanish. | After picking herself up off of the ground, she grumbled and grabbed the next scroll, remaining in the dirt. "Spring... chant," she said as she slowly recovered from the punch. Grunting, she eventually picked herself up into a seated position before reading the scroll. It was a style. So there were more styles than the ever superior Gentle Fist as well as those brutish and inferior Strong Fist and Arhat styles. A new style piqued at her interest. One that uses hand-eye coordination over brute strength. Yes, this had completely piqued her interest -- one for a more refined method of fighting. The only problem she'd have with this is the fact that she can't juggle both this and Gentle Fist at the same time. This was a problem, but not one she couldn't deal with. If the situation called for Gentle Fist, she'll use that. If the situation called for Spring Chant, then she'll do that instead. She looked at the paper, stood up and started to bounce around on the balls of her feet like a swift and agile boxer. "Oooo! This is actually kinda fun," she said bouncing on the balls of her feet, capable of doing swift side-to-side bounces and tried it with forward and backwards movement. "I really like this style. | After taking a short break, she tugged at some of the other taijutsu scrolls and started to read them. A bunch of 'rising' techniques. Quite weak but usable in different circumstances. She opened one up called Rising Side Kick and raised a brow with it's description. The height was greatly exaggerated and a 'side swipe kick' came up and she tilted her head to the side. "What the hell is a Side Swipe Kick? Side kick? Yes. Swipe kick? Does this thing mean 'Roundhouse kick'? Well, alright," she questioned before looking at the images on the scroll, explaining how to do it. She got up and performed a quick dry-run of the technique. She lifted her leg exactly as shown in the image and held her leg there for a moment and slowly swept her leg in a side motion. After a slow dry-run, she cleared her throat and performed a quick roundhouse kick. She let out a small sigh and kicked the scroll to the side. | She walked over to the scrolls upon the ground and opened up the next scroll with her foot, rolling it out before squatting down to read it. She was hoping this one would be less basic than the last jutsu she read and tried. "Rising Scissor Kick, huh?" she asked before placing her elbows upon her knees and her hands up to her cheeks to read this scroll. And lo-and-behold, it wasn't a scissor kick. She started to rub her face with her hands and kicked the scroll away. "Who wrote these jutsu? That's an AXE kick. Not a scissor kick," she said grumbling, punting the scroll away about 10 feet away, the open scroll acting as a streamer before falling down upon the ground. She walked over to one of the dummies and dragged it over next to the other one, placing it about 5 feet apart. She walked back and ran towards the space between them and jumped into the air, spreading her legs to where one foot would hit each of the dummies before pushing them over in annoyance. "That's a scissor kick!" she said raising her foot straight into the air and brought her heel down upon the dummy's body. "That's a fucking axe kick!" she said in annoyance. | The last jutsu of this gods forsakened series of taijutsu was called the Rising Defense Kick and, as it said, it was defensive. She formed a single handseal, summoning a Shadow Clone. "Okay, can you actually do something smart this time around? Anyway, I need you to try to kick me in the stomach with a ROUNDHOUSE kick. Think you can manage that?" she asked her clone before the Shadow Clone looked blankly at her for a moment and got into the Spring Chant stance and delivered an AXE kick to her. This caused Airi to raise her hand up to deflect the attack. "ROUNDHOUSE kick. Holy crap, am I really this stupid?" she asked as the clone nodded her head with a yes. This only started to irritate Airi and she stood in place once more. "Okay. Don't roundhouse kick me in the stomach?" she asked with the Clone performing a perfect roundhouse kick towards her. Using this time to react, she raised her leg and defended the kick. With that, she caused the clone to disperse. "Are you fucking serious!? | Taking a seat back by the pile of scrolls, she eyeballed the 'Rising' series of taijutsu for a moment in absolute disgust. Were those jutsu created by someone who knew nothing about martial arts? Perhaps it was created by one of those Arhat or Strong Fist peasants. The desire to burn those scrolls was strong, very strong, almost compelling. However she didn't want to go to jail for destroying government property. She shook her head and opened up another scroll. She felt her stomach sink as she would need to call forth her shadow clone. Her shadow clone was a complete insult to her as the Shadow Clone was supposed to be a perfect reflection of it's user and the shadow clone was a complete moron. But she had no other recourse but to call out the moronic shadow clone. With a single handseal, she brought forth the shadow clone, it having a glazed over look in it's eyes. "Could you not look like you just woke up from a 500 year coma and can't recognize anything?" she asked the clone, with the clone just slowly turning her head towards her with it's usual empty expression. She let out a sigh and slouched her shoulders. "Guess it can't be helped" she mentioned before reading the scroll. She sighed and shrugged her shoulders. It's just blocking an attack. There was no counter attack. "Seriously? Who the hell makes up the names of these jutsu? 'Counter of the Ram' when there is no counter attack!" she said before turning to look towards the Clone. She learned her lesson and rolled her eyes. "Please do not strike me anyway," she said to the clone as it instinctively just threw a single punch and, tada, she performed a mid forearm block. | These taijutsu scrolls, which are constantly mis-named are far too basic for her to really care. She already knew this crap and was now just going through the motions of learning these jutsu. She unrolled the next scroll called 'Rude Rough-Housing' and the scroll was quite long, giving her the belief that this was another style. It was a strength based style but it relied on a lot of punches. This caused her eyes to light up as she continued to read through the scroll. She just recently learned the perfect jutsu that would fit this fighting style. "Finally! Something interesting," she said as she continued to read through it. The style felt lawless and without any real shape or form and was basically just bar-room brawling. She continued to read that it focused more on multiple strikes than raw strength, which was great, but raw strength never hurt. Well, it wasn't something she really cared about. She ended up standing up and getting into a position, fairly similar to a boxer's stance and looked down towards the scroll. "This style has several basic jutsu in association with it. However, it is recommended that blah blah blah," she said as she examined more of the style and stances associated with it before now adding it to her repetoire. Learning: Rude Rough-Housing | |||

"Two palms," she shouted out before spinning around, striking her twice more in tenketsu points on her back. "Four palms," she said. Airi didn't know how to react. She began panicking before feeling another 4 strikes her her from the left side. "Eight Palms... Sixteen Palms. 32 Palms," she continued, her hand movements growing faster and faster with each strike. This was as far as Airi had gotten with the techniques and attempted to move out of the way but felt her body paralyzed in place. She was then struck with a very swift and varied pressure of 32 strikes to other tenketsu. She felt her body fly back and was unable to move. She began to struggle to move as her body flew through the air and then slid on the ground. "Mom! Stop! What's gotten into you!" she said before her body came to a full stop. "I can no longer treat you as a child. You are getting to the point where everything is now life and death. You need to grow strong so you can protect your team. I wasn't able to protect mine, that's the lesson I'm passing along to you. Grow up and fight. This was the life you dreamt of now do your part, girl. Failure to do this and I will strip your Hyuga name," she said before walking next to the paralyzed Airi and kicked her in the chest. "Get up! If your Uzumaki blood won't get you up, then let your Hyuga blood and pride get you up," she said as she slowly walked back towards Airi and kicked her in the stomach, causing all of the wind to be taken out of her lungs. She started to get feeling back in her body before slowly pushing herself back up. "Sixty four palms strike, huh? So that technique can go... even further," she said, breathing heavily and wiping blood off of her chin. "If that's the way you want to do it, then fine! I won't hold back," she shouted out before she began to spin, creating a white dome around her. "You used that at the wrong time, idiot! That's a def-" she said before the white dome eventually turned black and started to pull her in. "What!? What kind of perversion to the Hyuga techniques have you created?" her mother asked, in shock, awe, and disbelief. The spinning came to a stop before her mother touched the black dome of the technique. "Eight Trigrams Black Hole Revolving Heaven," Airi shouted out before the black dome dispersed. Falling backwards, Kina regained her footing and stood back up. However, while her mother was recovering, Airi took on the palm stance before bombarding her mother with strikes. Two palms, four palms, 8 palms, 16 palms, 32 palms. She was quickly able to perform this bombardment of strikes before taking a deep breath and started her approach for the last 32 strikes. | Airi threw one of her hands to the side, starting to tear up from the hostility from her mother. She had experienced some hostility from her mother, for the reason of being born with different hair and eye color than the rest of the clan. It was because of her hair and eye color that baby Airi would be exiled and in-turn would force herself and her father into exile. She had a future as a shinobi and was a rising star, a Jonin with a lot of promise. She had to give everything up for Airi. At first, she gladly accepted because it was her daughter. She loved her regardless of whether or not she was born with Uzumaki blood and followed her into exile. However, during the exile, she started to think of everything she missed out on: her dreams, her family, and her job. The longer she remained in exile, the more she grew to resent and despise her daughter. She still loved Airi, but the resentment continued to incubate within her heart, festering like an untreated wound. It grew and grew and grew and then most of the resentment had dispersed the moment Airi had developed the Byakugan at the age of 14. This gave Kina a sliver of hope. Perhaps if Airi would show the head of the clan that she was capable of using the Byakugan that they'd welcome them back home. After fourteen years, they were allowed back in their home of Konohagakure. However, fourteen years had still passed and things had changed for Kina. The people she knew were now considering retirement from the shinobi lifestyle and wanted to settle down and have children, themselves, a lot of children to be exact. The fun times she had with her friends were all in the past as they were all too busy raising their own large families to do the things she wanted. Her career as a shinobi was also in shambles and her placement within the Hyuga Clan had slid down. All of her social standings, everything she had known and loved had changed in the time she was away. All because Airi was born with bright red hair and crystal blue eyes. Kina turned her hand towards Airi and pointed towards her. "I didn't change. I was always this way. I loved everything so much. So damn much. But everything else around me had changed. Everything! My hopes, my dreams, my ambitions. My friends, our family, everything! Everything changed in the fourteen years of our exile. I didn't change a bit and everything was different when I came back!" There was a moment of silence between the two before Airi grit her teeth. She balled her hands into a tight fist, causing her knuckles to crack as her hands balled up even tighter. Her fists shook with anger and helplessness. Nothing she said was any of her fault. Her face started to turn red and the veins in her forehead started to show out of anger. "How was that any of my fault? I can't control who my parents are and I can't control what's in my blood. How could you push the blame to me? None of us knew I would turn out like this, mom. Let's stop this foolishness and go home and eat something nice?" Airi said as her body relaxed and she held her hands out, asking for a compromise. She started to walk towards her mother before her mother leapt forward and move her palms forward and blasted her with an intense blast of air and chakra. Airi flew backwards, feeling more of her tenketsu points closing. She struggled to get back up on her feet with blood starting to drip down the corner of her lips. "So the clan does have an even bigger palm fart," she said, laughing a bit to herself. However, the look on her mother's face was stone-cold and implacable. Her mother's hands started to move in weird circles around her. "You think that weird flailing will stop me from giving it right back, mom? You need to grow up," she said before gathering a mouth full of blood, spitting in the the ground before stepping forward, mimicking her mother's movements and released a massive blast of air from her palms. "Hakke Hasengeki!" she shouted out. This was the same technique her mother used to repel the bandits all those many years ago. A technique she remembered, but couldn't figure out how to do until she saw her mother perform it. However, the burst of air was quickly dispersed as her mother started to form blades of chakra out of her palm as her arm movements grew faster and faster, creating what appeared to be a net of chakra around her. | A loud whirring sound could be heard coming from Kina's arm movements as a stiff breeze blew through the training facility, a minor shockwave from someone else training elsewhere enough to knock over leaves from a nearby tree. The leaf flew through the sky like a gentle feather before gently landing on the net created by Kina. After a moment, the leaf disintegrated from the razor sharp net. Noticing this, Airi bit her lower lip to think. If she could create an absolute defense, what's to stop her from using these needles offensively. "It's useless, daughter. Don't even try. You aren't strong enough. Do you think your will could break through the grief and pain that I went through? For you!?" she shouted out before Airi took a few steps forward towards her mother, coming within arm's length of the barrier as other leaves flew into the barrier, eviscerating them. "I don't need will to defeat you. I don't need any of that. What I need is my loving mother back!" she said before she cocked her hand back and pointed her palm towards her mother. A needle of chakra appeared from out of her palm, extending outwards before she pressed the blade of chakra into the immovable shield that her mother created. A loud and high pitched squealing sound could be heard as the blades would meet against one another. "I know you're still in there, mom! Underneath the cold and distant exterior, I know the mother that protected me, loved me, laughed with me, and taught me how to become a proper woman and shinobi is there somewhere! I love her and I want her back!" she said with such passion that it brought a tear to Kina's eyes. Her shield began to falter as her arms stopped swinging around, leaving only Airi's palm with the blade of chakra now moving towards her own chest. She's not wrong. I used to love and cherish my daughter and it was of my own free will that me and my husband followed her exile. There was no way my newborn child would be able to survive by herself. We couldn't ask the village for help, not with our stubborn pride as a clan, so we had left the village. It was rough. Going from one of the higher houses of the Hyuga Clan to a petty and struggling merchant family. Moving from place to place and living in the back of a worn out cart, pulled by two worn out oxen. We both missed so much over the years. She missed out on building friends and relationships and even missed out on her childhood because of tradition. I missed out on my already established friends, my family, my stability, and the renown that I worked so hard to build within the village. As time marched on, my beautiful daughter got older and I started to see the dreams I had, back home, started to slip away. When did I start resenting her? She was my flesh and blood, my beautiful Airi. How could I have been such a cold and reckless woman -- a mother -- who hated her own daughter? I'd have given my life for her but when did it all change to hatred? I don't like what I've become. Yes, maybe she would be better off without me. She closed her eyes as she saw the needle approaching her heart before feeling a warm hug, arms around her neck and a warm, wet cheek pressed against hers. The sound of a baby crying could by heard by Kina as she felt no pain. With shaky hands, she wrapped her arms around Airi before her mind returned to the real world to hear her own daughter crying in her arms. She used this time to comfort her daughter, patting her upon the top of her head and gently running her hands down the top and middle of her daughter's back. The two embraced one another and cried until there were no more tears left. After a while, Kina wiped a tear from her eyes and laughed a bit. "Hyuga Handfart. Where -DO- you come up with this stuff?" she said which caused Airi to grow silent for a moment and let out a little snort before coming to laughter. She pat Airi on the top of the head and leaned back and away from her. Both of their eyes were puffy and red and with a comforting smile from Kina. "Let's go home, alright?" | She felt a bit more ready after getting her ass beat by her mother and doing a duo of missions with Ren and Suzuya. She cleared her throat and plopped herself next to a training dummy with three very specific jutsu scrolls. She had been waiting for a very long time for this. She let out a big yawn while opening one of the scrolls and the first thing to pop into her field of view, after the yawn, was the name. "Electromagnetic Murder? That sounds intense!" she said as she unscrolled it a bit further to read the specifics. This brought a question into her mind. "So... B Class Ninjutsu uses a bunch of handseals but this one only requires 3?" she questioned. It seemed a bit backwards to her, but she shrugged it off and continued to read. As she continued to read the scroll, she burst into laughter. "Ah, yes, a 'basic' lightning jutsu that can split rocks. Yes, so easy an academy student could do it," she said as she skipped away from the training dummy with the scroll in tow. Once she had found a nice and comfortable spot, she dropped the scroll so it would fall facing upwards. Taking on the horse stance, she looked down at the scroll and performed her usual 'dry-run' of the handseals. Just three this time so she was quick to learn and remember and perform. She nodded her head when she repeated the seals about 10 times before turning to look towards the dummy and performed the required set of handseals, applying ample amount of lightning chakra into her hands. | Another dummy bites the dust. With a quick sigh, she skipped over towards another dummy and painfully dragged it over towards her current work-space, placing it next to the smoldering remains of the previous one. Taking a few steps away from it, she noticed a couple char marks on the scrolls and began to panic, patting it out as it slowly burned some of the scroll. "Oh, that's not going to be cheap, maybe I should..." she said as she bent over, grabbed the other two scrolls and moved it with her to where she was standing when she used Electromagnetic Murder before. And with that, she opened up the next scroll. Another lightning ninjutsu, but it was another clone jutsu. "Lightning Shadow Clones. That's what Ren uses," she said as a dumb smile wormed it's way over her face and she started to daydream, her body swaying from side to side. Yes, she was in love and this was just how she dealt with it. She stopped, took a deep breath, and clapped the cheeks upon her face a couple times to regain her composure. "Focus, Airi, focus. Learn jutsu and," she said, opening the scroll and reading it. She looked at it and it was cast in the exact same manner, except that she injects her lightning chakra into it. She scoffed at the idea. "I could've made this one myself as well. Or rather, I probably would've made it myself," she said before forming the handseal required and she created a single clone that was grossly incandescent. She forgot her lightning chakra was intensely bright for lightning chakra and winced, shielding her eyes. "Oh, that's annoying" she said before the radiant light dimmed and began to look like Airi. Yes, this clone was also stupid and had the same empty expression. However, unlike Shadow Clone, this actually started to tire her out. "Ugh! This is a bit more demanding," she said waving off the clone, expecting big replenishment of her chakra, only to feel the chakra stay gone. "What the hell!? Where's my chakra!?" she asked rhetorically before slouching her shoulders. "Ren actually has the energy to keep using this clone? Holy shit," she said with a big sigh. | And the last scroll. Thankfully this one wasn't burnt to a crisp by the Electromagnetic murder. No, instead it was charred on the outside from the radiant light from the clone. She curled her lip a bit before blowing the soot off of the paper. Shaking her head, she wiped it off of the paper and then wiped the soot off on the ground. A thought occurred to her and wondered how much abuse this poor training ground is capable of taking. Wouldn't an S Rank jutsu completely level this place? She shrugged as that would be something she'd have to figure out later -- much later. Afterwards, she took her spot back on her butt and opened up the scroll and it was a taijutsu. A rare breed. One that didn't belong to one of those heathen styles of martial arts and one that was more complex than a kick and a punch. Unlike the other jutsu, this actually sounds like it makes sense. She opened it up further to read the combo listing. Her eyes opened at the complexity of this combo and they instantly lit up. "Finally. A cool taijutsu!" she said as she just sat there, enthralled at the fact that some people could make some really cool jutsu. Once she broke out of her spell of delight, she continued to read it and it told her secrets on increasing her speed and.... she chucks the scroll. In times like these, there is the need of a backup. She wasn't fast enough to properly perform that jutsu and the backup was -- Insane Rough-Housing Technique. Her excitement turned into distress when she read the name of the technique. "Rude Rough Housing is a stance and Insane Rough-Housing is the only jutsu that goes with the stance," she commented before taking a deep breath in and releasing it in a bored sigh. She shrugged, got up and got into her Rude Rough Housing stance, which was just a street fighting, scrapping, stance. And after reading it. She kicked the scroll away. Not enough coordination. Okay. So she had a backup to the backup and pulled out another scroll. Peregrine Falcon Drop. She nodded her head as this was the ONLY other jutsu that she could find openly that was available that didn't belong to either the Strong Fist or Arhat school of Taijutsu. The one and only jutsu. Okay, so it required someone to be in the air. She quickly performed a handseal, activating her Byakugan and entered into Gentle Fist stance. With a single punch upwards, she created a vacuum shell into her fist and with a burst of chakra, this would launch the target upwards. And then she forgot what she had to do. She turned to look towards the scroll for a moment before being clobbered by the falling dummy. So about 20 minutes later Airi woke back up and continued to read the scroll after she knocked a few cobwebs away. Okay, so I jump up, grab the person and piledrive them into the ground? Sounds easy enough. Just gotta remember to get the hell out of the way before hitting the ground," she said before standing up, delivering another Vacuum Shelled uppercut, launching the dummy into the air. She jumped up, grabbed the dummy and spun it mid-air only to completely piledrive it into the ground, ensuring it was head-down into the dirt. Her face contorted in pain due to landing flat on her butt from 15 meters up in the air. "Oh fuck. | After spending a couple of days in the hospital to adjust whatever she did to her spine by landing flat on her rear directly after performing the Peregrine Falcon Dive, she exited the hospital with a bit of medication and instructions on 'doing less piledrivers without letting go'. The mantra of 'letting go, stupid' stuck in her head so she didn't have to feel her hips directly under her chin. However, speaking of the ground, she had brought a couple scrolls this time for something a bit different. She spent far too much time cultivating her Raiton that she completely and utterly ignored the other elements. She was capable of performing some relatively lower ranking jutsu without an issue -- performing anything higher might be a problem however. Every scroll that she had with her involved underground travel. Perfect for someone like her that had the Byakugan. After activating the Byakugan, she opened up the scroll and started reading the specifics on the first jutsu she will learn. "Double Suicide Decapitation? What?" she questioned. What a strange name. She hoped this little technique didn't involve her actually decapitating herself and her opponent. Nope. It only resulted in the opponent being buried underneath the earth after she pulled them in. She continued to read on for a moment and realized it didn't require any handseals. "Yeah, I'm going to need some smoke-bombs or something to use this," she mumbled before tossing the scroll off to the side before moving towards the dummy. She placed a single hand upon where the shoulders would be and then wrapped her arms around it before, with a quick movement, the two were now underground with her head sticking out of the ground. "I'm sure this isn't supposed to happen. Sure, the dummy went in too, but why me as well?" she grumbled as she felt the earth give way, causing her to move under the ground relatively easily before popping out not long after. | She patted the dirt and dust off of her clothing and returned to where she was before, where the other scrolls were. She plopped down on her butt as a shot of pain surged up her spine. "Urgh! Right! Forgot," she grimaced before turning towards the next jutsu, Subterannean Voyage. She raised a brow and then looked at Hiding Like a Mole. They both did very similar things -- swimming through the ground. Uh.. Okay. She took the Subterannean Voyage technique and began to read it. It explained how to turn the ground into a near liquid state in order to, effectively, swim through the ground. One could use a weapon to turn it into an 'assault' jutsu. Whatever that means. Her imagination just went to using a sword and having the sword look like a Shark's fin through the ground. "Now I wonder..." she said before doing what the technique said to do as she casually fell into the earth, resting at a comfortable depth. Since she didn't really use a weapon, other than her trench knife, she used the next best thing. She started to swim, underground, with her fist curled up and facing forward. She did this throughout the training ground to the dismay of many who sees a fist traveling along the ground. Most people simply just moved out of the way of the fist as it didn't approach at a very fast pace. Once she had circled back, she appeared directly next to the dummy that she had pulled into the ground and appeared upwards. "Well, the Byakugan was really useful there," she said as her eyes were now filled with dirt. Using this time, she went to one of the artificial water sources and started to clean out her eyes. | And now for the same jutsu for the third time, but with a different name. This one was called, Hiding like a Mole. Hmm. This one seemed to give you a sense of sensing the magnetic something something, big words that Airi didn't understand. The ground turns into sand, blah blah blah. Cover your eyes. Blah blah blah. Pull people under. She tossed the scroll. She seemed to have learned the same jutsu three times all with different names. But it didn't hurt to learn all of this. She placed a hand upon her nose, squeezing her nostrils before jumping up and falling into the ground as if it was made entirely of water. However, it was now more like sand and she dug through it, keeping her eyes closed. This magnetosensing was very weird but it was also super interesting. While underground, she started to dig and dig and dig as deep as she wanted before creating a small hole just for herself. Well, she couldn't stay there for too long as oxygen was still a thing that all shinobi, that she knew of, needed. She didn't sense anything around her and with that, she quickly surfaced and jumped out of the ground like a majestic dolphin leaping out of the water before landing softly upon her feet. As she looked back to where she exploded out of, it turned back into hard ground -- almost as if she was never there in the first place. "[color=red]Well, that was useful. | Another three scrolls were brought with her, plopping them down by the training dummy. She arched her back and stretched a bit. The muscles crackled and popped with the stretch before she slouched in response to the tight stretch. Lately, she hasn't been wearing her armor for training, not since her last training session with Suzuya. It probably isn't a good idea to wear all of that for just training. She unbuttoned part of her top and reached a hand in to get a nice, good scratch upon an itch she had under her left breast. After finally getting the scratch, she let out a sigh in relief, having wanted to get that itch since she started moving towards the training around. She started to button back up and noticed that the dummy she pulled under yesterday was pulled up and still covered in fresh earth. She had 3 fresh scrolls today, two were marked green and the other was marked blue. She reviewed them earlier, finding them to be a bit more support based than offensive. She had plenty of offensive based jutsu, so support-based jutsu was what she would concentrate on. It had been a long 'couple weeks' and was wondering when she was supposed to fight Taco and Hanabi. With a shrug, she opened up one of the green scrolls to see 'Verdant Mountain Gale'. "Controls your weapons, blah blah blah," she said as she pulled out her trench knife and tossed it a short distance away. She turned to look towards the scroll and found out she had to the hold the handseal in order to kick up a wind to remotely control the weapon. She'll probably never use this except in extremely niche situations. She performed the 'Snake' seal and felt a wind kick up and lift her Trench Knife into the air and with manipulating certain pathways in the wind, it began to slash at the air. | Probably the most important one. She had heard of some jutsu that are capable of kicking up enough dust or creating 'magical' fog that is capable of disrupting her Byakugan's vision. Yes, there are just some things, a D Rank jutsu included, that are capable of disrupting the Byakugan's vision. The legendary Byakugan, blindsided and blocked by Genin-level jutsu. The thought was apalling at first, but everything needed a weakness. She opened up the scroll and started to read it. It wasn't strong enough to be an offensive jutsu, but strong enough to blow away things like Hidden Mist. She rubbed her chin and looked around, not noticing anyone with any kind of smoke screen. Perhaps she should invest in smoke bombs, if they are available. With a shrug she read over the handseals required and, surprise to her, it wasn't required. So now she had to think of how to actually manipulate her chakra to extend up to 100 meters to blow away vaporous obstructions. She put a hand up to her face in thought. Coming to a 'eureka moment', she stood in place and opened up her tenketsu points to release air out, similar to Body Blow, but with a little bit of wind chakra and it caused a gust so strong that it moved the leaves on trees up to 100 meters away. A bit underwhelming, but this jutsu was vital for her to counter a low level jutsu blocking her Byakugan. With a bit of a shrug, she picked up the next scroll and skimmed it a bit and shrugged her shoulders, picking up the other scrolls and started to move towards a water source. | She stopped at the edge of an artificial pond and plopped the two wind scrolls at the edge of the water while continuing to read the water jutsu she had. This was quite similar to the three jutsu she learned the other day about going into the ground and hiding in the ground, but this one involved the water. "Huh. So I merge with the water and move about freely, but the Byakugan can still see it and can still damage people while they are merged with the water? Guess I need to be careful when using this around raiton users," she said before she continued to read, now looking for the handseal requirements and, not to her surprise, there was none. Now to think of how to turn into water within the water. She put the scroll down and started to water walk onto the surface of the water and started to think about how she was going to convert her body into water. She continued to think for a moment before releasing the chakra from her feet to let her submerge into the water, almost completely disappearing. Movement underwater felt sluggish at her current speed, but she started to feel a bit uneasy now being completely water for the sake of this jutsu. After moving around a bit, she reappeared and reformed now completely naked under the water. "What the hell!" she shouted out before swimming around and retrieving her clothes, clumsily and sloppily gathering her clothing and putting it on. | The theme for today was fire. Everything fire related. The amount of Fire Ninjutsu she was capable of performing was VERY limited so she figured she might as well complete that library before moving on. It would probably be a shock for her teammates to see a rather prolific raiton user to use other elements, but when she learned she could use all elements up to a certain point, she had no choice BUT to learn them. Finding herself next to a dummy again, she had three scrolls capped in red. She opened up the first one and saw it called 'Exploding Flame Shot'. She cleared her throat and read the scroll. She grimaced, realizing she had to actually throw these. She wasn't too strong so these won't go too far. She took all of the scrolls with her and plopped them about 15 meters away. She repeated the handseal order in her mind a few times, performing a few dry-runs before taking the horse stance, growing more and more serious. She looked towards the dummy and quickly performed the required handseals in half a second before holding her hand out, creating two balls of fire and tossed them like a grenade, causing them to explode everywhere around the dummy. The dummy wasn't touched, at all, but explosions happened completely around it. She grumbled and performed it again, gathering a total of 6 balls by adding extra chakra and tossed it like a grenade and again, all 6 completely missed the target. | She already had a sour taste in her mouth from Fire Ninjutsu before opening the next scroll and it required something to run along. In this case, she had Steel Wire. She kinda wished the steel wire was a LITTLE bit longer as 5 meters wasn't exactly safe. Shrugging her shoulders, she continued to read on. She then grumbles when she read that it explodes in a 5 meter range. Grumbling a bit, she sat down and started to tie some of the wire together. She wasn't going to get blown up because people didn't know how to make long enough wire. After stringing 3 steel wires together, she turned to look at the jutsu and performed the handseals. She quickly did it, turning her chakra to Fire Chakra and held it. She quickly threw the 15 meter of steel wire towards the dummy, letting it wrap around the dummy's neck before blowing out the fire over the steel wire. The fire traveled along the steel wire before catching the target ablaze. She dropped the water before she saw it explode into fire around the dummy. | And for the coup-de-grace for the day, she opened up the next one and she felt an extreme heat coming from the pages and her eyes illuminated at it. No gimmicks, no bells and whistles, just fire. Heaven-sent choir filled her ears as she read through the description as the desire to turn into a dragon and breathe fire were now fulfilled. There were two variants: one was far too advanced for her, so the first and easier variant was what she was going to train. It was, essentially, a flamethrower. To breath fire directly out of her mouth to catch everything on fire. Yes yes! This was what she wanted and imagined when she grabbed the Fire Ninjutsu scrolls. Her eyebrows furrowed when she found out she could just hold and fan the flames. Quickly forming the handseals stated in the scroll, she quickly inhaled air through her nose, feeling everything in her gut and lungs started to burn. A glowing occurred upon her throat and chest before she placed a single hand up to her mouth and breathed out a massive flamethrower towards the dummy. The cracking of it burning could easily be heard as she continued to exhale, bathing the dummy in fire. She took quick breaths in between before breathing out, causing fire to pulsate every time she took another breath. She held this up for a few moments before taking a step back and assessing the situation. Everything was burned and everything was charred. | Today, she only arrived with two scrolls since she had one specific jutsu, one that she had put through the lab for a considerable time, in mind. This time, she didn't even have the scrolls on the ground, she had them strapped to her waists as if they were in holsters. Yes, she had to have them close to her body for this one, otherwise the scrolls would get completely destroyed. This would be an extremely destructive version of the Heavenly Rotation. She had to inject a massive amount of chakra and lightning chakra into Heavenly Rotation. So she found herself surrounded by a forest of Training Dummies. Quickly activating her Byakugan, she entered into the Gentle Fist stance. With all of the conditions met, she took a deep breath and began to spin. Her spinning started off slowly before her Tenketsu Points opened up, expelling a massive amount of chakra. Concentrating on her movements and her chakra flow, she injected a massive amount of chakra from her points to turn the chakra visible and then quickly changed it to her special lightning chakra, causing it to become a ball of blinding white light. Her spinning grew more and more intense before the dome started to quickly expand beyond it's standard size. As the dome grew, the ground beneath her and anything that touched the dome began to shred. The sound of a loud whistle like a train was approaching. The fervent furor of a tornado could be heard as the earth got torn to shreds as the dome continued to grow rather quickly, enveloping a 15 meter radius around her. Afterwards, the chakra dissipated, only capable of holding it for a short time, like a quick burst of an explosion, before her spin came to an end. She started to wobble around before clumsily hobbling. She shook her head and turned to look around at the devastation. The dummies were all vaporized and the ground beneath them was upturned with all of the grass torn off, digging a 1 foot deep trench around her feet. "Well! That's interesting!" she stated before jumping into the toroidal mess and moved her way towards an artificial formation of rocks for the next jutsu. A very, very niche one at that. | And she was surprised there was an artificial cliff in the training area. Probably created for Doton users or for this very specific, very niche jutsu. With a few leaps, she jumped from the ground all the way up to the top of the rock-face and pulled out one of the purple-tipped scrolls. This specific scroll was called "Rock Avalanche". She read about this one ahead of time and knew that position would be absolutely key. She could only think of 2 actual places that this would be useful at -- Land of Lightning and Land of Earth. The only really rocky-terrain locations, in the world, seemed to be focused primarily within those two countries. While the Land of Fire does have mountains, one is being used to memorialize the leaders of the past and she had enough problems cleaning the mountain let alone wanting to deface it permanently. She looked at the handseals and noticed there was a single inverted handseal -- this was new to her. She was used to full handseals or even half-seals, but an inverted seal was completely foreign to her. She cleared her throat, did a dry run with the two handseals before clasping her hands until the attack executes. She performs this pattern a few times without adding Chakra into it until she built muscle memory. Once she felt confident enough, she performed the Snake and inverted Tiger seal and then clasped her hands together before shooting out a wave of electrical energy downwards, causing a considerable amount of earth to break off. The hill began to rumble, which caused Airi to apply the Tree-Walking technique to her feet and fell to her knees to stabilize herself. Several rather large boulders formed before coming to a quick halt, not having time to build up speed. She did wish the jutsu wasn't so situational, but it's what she got.
