It had been a while since Nikola's latest adventures. These had come in the form of another trip to the "Konoha Credit Union" to deposit his most recent earnings for safekeeping. After that, Nikola had returned back to his residence and gotten back into the grind of his ongoing and ever-burgeoning mad science research efforts, especially those that were geared toward learning even more jutsu and also towards trying to devise new ways in which to command his Aburame insect arsenal along with studies on new insect types and even hybrid possibilities for enhancing the variety of options afforded to him by said arsenal

Hmm...now that I have learned the theory regarding the execution of these new jutsu, perhaps it is time for another training session at that one training center...

Nikola mused thus silently as he stirred from beneath the veritable mountain of research notes that were current piled up high in his residence/research lab in the Aburame clan compound on this particular day. After managing to drag himself out, he rose to his feet and proceeded to ready himself in his usual work attire, this being specifically comprised of his standard researcher's outfit and with his various pieces of ninja gear equipped to various strategically chosen areas on his person along with his insect reserves confirmed properly. Then, after informing his family's support staff of his potential whereabouts and intended destinations for the day, he set out to once again to the Grand Konoha Training Facility so that he could master the various jutsu on his field testing agenda for the day. Once there, he borrowed some training equipment from the on-site store, then chose a quiet, isolated spot in one of the rooms to set himself down and mentally prepared himself for the imminent start to his field testing session

Hmm...now then, what would be the best order to start testing these new jutsu I learned of in, I wonder? Maybe...Psycho Mind Transmission...followed by the Shuriken Shadow Clone...and after that...

Nikola mused thus silently as he pondered about which jutsu to begin with, and after thinking about the matter for a bit, ultimately, he decided to go with field testing the Psycho Mind Transmission jutsu first. To that end, he reviewed the jutsu's performance steps mentally but then realized he needed an actual human partner for this which made him frown

Curses...I cannot field test this without employing a human training partner as the lab rat for the trial runs, eh?...Oh well, it cannot be helped, I suppose...

Musing thus silently in a rather disgruntled manner, Nikola set about acquiring a training partner from the facility's staff and thankfully, it was not too painful for him to accomplish in either time or effort, so with that done, Nikola returned with said trainer to the room he had chosen to field test the jutsu series he had in mind for the day. After that was accomplished, Nikola instructed his partner to sit down first and then, he sat down within easy arm's reach where his hand could be extended to rest upon his training partner's head. Then, Nikola gathered his chakra to activate the technique by placing his hand on his training partner's head, noting and committing to his eidetic memory the rather surreal sensation of entering said partner's subconscious. Once that was done, he focused on the Psycho Mind Transmission jutsu and let it guide him along, eventually discovering that he could easily extract a day's worth of memories from one sitting. So, he came back out to reflect on his findings thus far

So, at minimum, this jutsu allows the user to mine a day's worth of memory data from within the target's subconscious, eh?...A rather useful jutsu, indeed...especially for those situations wherein the agenda is one of interrogation and strategic intelligence gathering...now then, for the next trial run...

After musing thus silently for a few moments, Nikola signified his training partner, or as he liked to call them, lab rat, that he was ready once again to resume his field testing. Once that was taken care of, he dove back into said lab rat's subconscious and this time, he tried to mine out more memory data, again succeeding in increasing the quantity by 2 days this time. In this manner, his field testing of this jutsu continued until he discovered that, at his current level, he could mine out up to and including a week's worth of memories in the same one sitting after which eh came back out to reflect on his findings up till then

Egads...this is a rather taxing jutsu, indeed...but I suppose sifting through a mass of irrelevant junk memory data to find those of strategic interest would have to be both precise and accurate which, in turn, necessitates such a steep cost...This is another jutsu that I had better use only in those situations when I have absolute need of it...

After musing thus silently, Nikola proceeded onto testing whether the presence of mental blockades or even amnesia of any kind would diminish the effect of this jutsu's performance, but found that presence of such obstacles did not matter in the slightest. So, for the last phase of his field testing of this jutsu, he merely worked on acquiring mastery over it in all the aspects of it that he discovered in the previous phases of field testing of this jutsu. Thus, Nikola was able to successfully learn the Psycho Mind Transmission jutsu and then stopped to review the data that he had gleaned from these jutsu field testing trials.

After resting briefly and contemplating which jutsu on the list to train next, Nikola finally decided to undertake learning of the Shuriken Shadow Clone technique next

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to perform this jutsu after throwing a projectile of some kind to manifest physical replicas of it as with the basic Shadow Clone jutsu...and it mentions that the number of copies made is dependent on the user's stamina...and that the force and speed are dependent on the throw made by the user...so these will have to be a priority when determining which aspect of myself to enhance via training going forward...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after bidding his training partner/lab rat to go sit in a corner so as to be out of the way, he picked a training dummy about 3 m away from his current position to begin the first phase of his field testing of this jutsu. To that end, he pulled out a shuriken from his holster and after throwing it, he began the sequence of handsigns to activate this jutsu, those ones being Ox → Dog → Dragon → Rat → Dog → Boar → Snake → Tiger. In response, the jutsu activated successfully and he was able to make a single copy of the shuriken for this preliminary phase of field testing and both of these went and struck the dummy with a faint thud, leaving two identical gashes in it side by side. Then, Nikola stopped to contemplate his handiwork

Hmm, that worked out well, though perhaps, only because the training dummy is a static target...while in battle, it would be much more difficult to aim and hit properly...now to see the effect of trying to produce more copies...

Musing thus silently, Nikola prepared to do more trial runs with the Shuriken Shadow Clone jutsu that he set himself to learning now. Through these next few, he found that he could, in fact, create up to and including 6 copies of the original at his current level of development. Then, he tested various range limits for this jutsu, but upon doing so, he found that he could only make it perform consistently up to and including a max of 10 m, a fact that was much to his great chagrin

Hmm...that was a disappointment...and as if that was not bad enough...this is also another of those jutsu with a steep cost to it which I find irksome...oh well...this just goes to show that the improvement of my stamina is indeed a priority going forward...

So, he accepted it for the time being but made a mental note to experiment more with it later to improve it and after that he proceeded onto the final phase of his field testing of the Shuriken Shadow Clone jutsu. Specifically, this was the repetitive performance of this jutsu to acquire both the mental as well as the physical memory for it to the required level to have finished learning it successfully. Thus, Nikola was able to successfully learn the Shuriken Shadow Clone jutsu and then stopped to review the data he gleaned from these jutsu field testing trials.

After resting briefly and contemplating which jutsu on the list to train next, Nikola finally decided to undertake learning of the Chakra Drain technique next

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to perform this jutsu after having first ensnared the chosen target successfully in a stranglehold or else some other sort of grappling-style Taijutsu, eh?...Hmm...perhaps because it requires sustained physical contact?...That bears further investigation...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after bidding his training partner/lab rat to come back to him from the corner, he informed said lab rat/training partner about his plans and internally was quite amused with the now disgruntled look on their face. Once that was over, Nikola and his training partner got into position and then began his field testing session for the Chakra Drain jutsu in real earnest. First, they engaged in a brief sparring to simulate the physical interaction that would occur in a real fight if Nikola were trying to deploy this jutsu and then, Nikola succeeded in pinning his training partner to the ground in an arm bar maneuver after which point, he activated the Chakra Drain jutsu, draining 25 chakra from his training partner upon doing so. After that, he released said partner and then stopped briefly to reflect on his initial findings

Hmm, that worked out well, though perhaps, only because this was a training session and I have a willing lab rat...a real opponent would likely be much more difficult to entrap in this manner...

Musing thus silently, Nikola prepared to do more trial runs with the Chakra Drain jutsu that he set himself to learning now. Through these next few, he found that he could, in fact, not only drain the chakra from the target with this jutsu but also absorb it into himself

Hmm...so this jutsu is essentially identical in effect to my Aburame insects and also my innate ability to absorb chakra which I developed due to my bond with them...though, in reality, since it requires chakra to activate in the first place, the net profit is very minimal, all things considered...though, I do suppose it would be useful in maintaining my chakra levels when they become too low...

While musing thus silently after that, Nikola then proceeded onto the final phase of his field testing of the Chakra Drain jutsu. Specifically, this was the repetitive performance of this jutsu to acquire both the mental as well as the physical memory for it to the required level to have finished learning it successfully. Thus, Nikola was able to successfully learn the Chakra Drain jutsu and then stopped to review the data he gleaned from these jutsu field testing trials.

After resting briefly and contemplating which jutsu on the list to train next, Nikola finally decided to undertake learning of some Genjutsu techniques next, his choice for this round of field testing being the "Demonic Illusion: Double False Surroundings" jutsu

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to perform this jutsu after having first ensnared the chosen target successfully in its predecessor, namely, the Demonic Illusion: False Surrounding jutsu...so that makes this...a vertically stacked, two-layered Genjutsu, then...Now that could certainly be useful as it cannot be so easily eradicated with Genjutsu Kai...Hmm, this jutsu does not seem to use any handsigns either just as its predecessor did not...now that certainly bears further investigation...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after bidding his training partner/lab rat to be ready to assist him once more, he started by casting the "Demonic Illusion: False Surrounding" jutsu on a 100 m area around them, thus catching said lab rat/partner in the jutsu's effect. After that, he proceeded to cast the "Demonic Illusion: Double False Surroundings" jutsu on top of its predecessor over the same area of effect, thus stacking it vertically as per the scroll's description that he had read regarding it. Once that was done, he nodded to his training partner/lab rat as a signal to attempt the "Genjutsu: Kai" jutsu to release this pair of Genjutsu he had cast and just as the scroll had mentioned, even though said partner/lab rat managed to release the first layer of the Genjutsu, the second was still active and was not released at the same time. After that, he released said partner from his Genjutsu and then stopped briefly to reflect on his initial findings

Hmm, that worked out well, though perhaps, only because this was a training session and I have a willing lab rat...a real opponent would likely be much more difficult to entrap in this manner...

After resting briefly and contemplating which jutsu on the list to train next, Nikola finally decided to undertake learning of some Genjutsu techniques next, his choice for this round of field testing being the "Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death" jutsu

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to perform this jutsu to cause a sort of visual hallucination in the target, similar to the 'False Surroundings' series, but in this case it is focused on immobilization rather than confusion...hmm, but at the same time...this jutsu also robs the user of their freedom with regards to mobility...now that is truly a pity...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after bidding his training partner/lab rat to be ready to assist him once more, he started by casting the "Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death" jutsu by flipping through the requisite handsigns, namely Dog → Snake → Monkey → Ox → Tiger, and while doing so, he had his training partner/lab rat look at his hands that were doing the handsigns to activate the jutsu in question as per the scroll's description that he had read regarding it. Once that was done, he studied the effect of the jutsu on said training partner/lab rat, that is, their response to the induced visual hallucination of being ensnared by a giant tree growing around them after which he started moving towards them at E-tier speed just as the scroll had mentioned for this first trial run and then mimed attacking his training partner/lab rat to complete the maneuver. After that, he released said partner from his Genjutsu and then stopped briefly to reflect on his initial findings

Hmm, that worked out well, though perhaps, only because this was a training session and I have a willing lab rat...a real opponent would likely be much more difficult to entrap in this manner...since they would have to be tricked somehow into witnessing the handsigns I would be making to activate this...and that drastic speed reduction is also going to be a problem...

Musing thus silently, Nikola prepared to do more trial runs with the new "Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death" jutsu that he set himself to learning now. Through these, he found that when he attempted to move at higher than E-tier speeds, it did indeed break the Genjutsu just as the scroll had described it would in that situation. Once these were over, he proceeded on to the repetitive performance of this jutsu to acquire both the mental as well as the physical memory for it to the required level to have finished learning it successfully. Thus, Nikola was able to successfully learn the "Demonic Illusion: Tree Binding Death" jutsu and then stopped to review the data he gleaned from these jutsu field testing trials.

After resting briefly and contemplating which jutsu on the list to train next, Nikola finally decided to undertake learning of some Genjutsu techniques next, his choice for this round of field testing being the "Genjutsu: Flower Petal Escape" jutsu

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to perform this jutsu in response to one that is cast upon them by an opponent...that is certainly useful as a countermeasure for those few Genjutsu that may not be able to be released successfully with 'Genjutsu: Kai'...hmm, but at the same time...this jutsu can also be rendered ineffective if the opponent decides to break their own Genjutsu cast upon the user...now that is truly a pity...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after bidding his training partner/lab rat to be ready to assist him once more, he started by nodding to them to signal them to cast a genjutsu on him so that he could commence the field testing of this jutsu. Once that was done, he activated the "Genjutsu: Flower Petal Escape" jutsu and observed its effect on said training partner/lab rat and practiced repositioning himself under cover of this jutsu to complete the maneuver. Hmm, that worked out well, though perhaps, only because this was a training session and I have a willing lab rat...a real opponent would likely be much more difficult to entrap in this manner...but then, this jutsu also does not require handsigns, so that is at least some solace, I suppose...

After resting briefly and contemplating which jutsu on the list to train next, Nikola finally decided to undertake learning of some Genjutsu techniques next, his choice for this round of field testing being the "String Bean Binding Illusion" jutsu

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to perform this jutsu while looking at the target...hmm, but at the same time...this jutsu seems to take a relatively long time to manifest it effect's onset...now that is truly a pity...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after bidding his training partner/lab rat to be ready to assist him once more, he started by looking at them while activating the new "String Bean Binding Illusion" jutsu that he had set himself to train now. Then, he observed its effect on said training partner/lab rat, namely, their response to it as though they were being immobilized gradually by some invisible force and then watched them appear as though looking at something invisible that was hovering above them which, according to the scroll, was the visual hallucination of the user appearing from the bean pod growing out of the beanstalk immobilizing the victim followed by the user preparing to attack them. After that, he released said partner from his Genjutsu and then stopped briefly to reflect on his initial findings

Hmm, that worked out well, though perhaps, only because this was a training session and I have a willing lab rat...a real opponent would likely be much more difficult to entrap in this manner...but then, this jutsu also does not require handsigns, so that is at least some solace, I suppose...and the fact that this jutsu does seem to deal a relatively higher degree of psychological damage to its victim...

Musing thus silently, Nikola prepared to do more trial runs with the new "String Bean Binding Illusion" jutsu that he set himself to learning now. After resting briefly and contemplating which jutsu on the list to train next, Nikola finally decided to undertake learning of some Taijutsu techniques next, his choice for this round of field testing being the "Leaf Great Whirlwind" jutsu

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to perform a series of kicking attacks at the target and those seem to alternate in height and velocity, thus allowing the user to actually rise up through the air higher and higher over the course of its execution...and it also seems to enhance the user's physical prowess to some extent too...now that will be quite useful, indeed...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after that, he nodded to his training partner/lab rat and then informed them that he was finished availing himself of their services for this field testing/training session and that they were free to leave if they wished, which they did so almost immediately as soon as he was finished with his notice to them

Oh my...look at that lab rat scurrying away...perhaps my field testing was a tad too intense for their tastes...how amusing, indeed...

Nikola mused silently while having a bemused smirk on his face as he continue to watch his rapidly retreating training partner/lab rat. Then, he turned on his heel and refocused his attention from that momentary diversion back to his field testing session to implement his investigation of the "Leaf Great Whirlwind" jutsu. To that end, he went and borrowed a training dummy as well as some other materials as well as tools which would be useful later and after returning to his room, he set up the training dummy in preparation for his investigation of the "Leaf Great Whirlwind" jutsu. After that, he commenced said investigation by taking the Strong Fist style's signature stance and then started off by going for swift low kick at the training dummy's legs and then proceeding to a kick to the gut region of the dummy and followed that up with performing a high jump kick at the training dummy before ending the attack with a heel drop onto the training dummy from 3 m above it in the air, all of this done in accordance with the jutsu scroll's instructions. After that, he stopped briefly to reflect on his initial findings

Hmm, that worked out well, though perhaps, only because this was a field testing session and the test subject here was a mere training dummy...whereas a real opponent would be much more difficult to strike in this sort of consecutive manner...that said..the rotation speed did indeed pick up and gave me buoyancy to shift into gradually higher attacks as I proceeded through the combo...and I did indeed end at three meters in the air when I performed that heel drop onto the training dummy....but I did not think a mere Taijutsu form could allow for such agility and even acrobatics...this Strong Fist style of Taijutsu is certainly impressive...

Musing thus silently, Nikola prepared to do more trial runs with the new Strong Fist style's "Leaf Great Whirlwind" jutsu that he set himself to learning now. Once these were over, he proceeded on to the repetitive performance of this jutsu to acquire both the mental as well as the physical memory for it to the required level to have finished learning it successfully. After resting briefly and contemplating which jutsu on the list to train next, Nikola finally decided to undertake learning of the "Leaf Rising Wind" jutsu

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to use their entire body as a powerful spring to perform a high kick towards the target from a position wherein their body is bent over backwards steeply...with the goal being to launch the target into the air...presumably as a setup for performing other Strong Fist style Taijutsu techniques...and this one also seems to enhance the user's physical prowess to some extent too...that will again be quite useful, indeed...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after that, he refocused his attention from that momentary diversion back to his field testing session to implement his investigation of the "Leaf Rising Wind" jutsu. To that end, he commenced said investigation by taking the Strong Fist style's signature stance and then bent over backwards sharply and held his body like that for a second to build up the potential energy for the kick. Then, he released all that built up potential energy into kinetic energy by proceeding into the performance of the high kick at a level above his head at the training dummy to launch it high into the air, all of this done in accordance with the jutsu scroll's instructions. After that, he stopped briefly to reflect on his initial findings while watching the dummy fall back down to the ground

Hmm, that worked out well, though perhaps, only because this was a field testing session and the test subject here was a mere training dummy...whereas a real opponent would be much more difficult to strike in this manner...that said...this jutsu does allow the user to launch the struck target high into the air as a setup for subsequent Strong Fist style Taijutsu...this style of Taijutsu is certainly impressive...

Musing thus silently, Nikola prepared to do more trial runs with the new Strong Fist style's "Leaf Rising Wind" jutsu that he set himself to learning now. Once these were over, he proceeded on to the repetitive performance of this jutsu to acquire both the mental as well as the physical memory for it to the required level to have finished learning it successfully. Thus, Nikola was able to successfully learn the "Leaf Rising Wind" jutsu and then stopped to review the data he gleaned from these jutsu field testing trials.

After resting briefly and contemplating which jutsu on the list to train next, Nikola finally decided to undertake learning of the "Shadow of the Dancing Leaf" jutsu

So the idea is to for the user of this jutsu to perform this to allow themselves the ability to appear right behind an airborne target after usually launching them high into the air with something like that 'Leaf Rising Wind' Strong Fist style attack...presumably, again as a setup for performing other Strong Fist style Taijutsu techniques...and this one also seems to enhance the user's physical prowess to some extent too...that will again be quite useful, indeed...

Nikola mused silently thus briefly, and after that, he refocused his attention from that momentary diversion back to his field testing session to implement his investigation of the "Shadow of the Dancing Leaf" jutsu. To that end, he commenced said investigation by taking the Strong Fist style's signature stance and performed the "Leaf Rising Wind" technique he had just learned immediately before at the training dummy to launch it high into the air, all of which was done in accordance with the jutsu scroll's instructions. After that, he proceeded to perform the "Shadow of the Dancing Leaf" jutsu which made him appear right underneath the now airborne training dummy. After that, he spun the dummy over and tossed it onto the ground before performing a flip to cause himself to land safely on the ground as well next to the training dummy. Once that was done, he stopped briefly to reflect on his initial findings

Hmm, that worked out well, though perhaps, only because this was a field testing session and the test subject here was a mere training dummy...whereas a real opponent would be much more difficult to position in this manner...that said...this jutsu does allow the user to close the gap between themselves and an airborne enemy to use as a setup for subsequent Strong Fist style Taijutsu...so, again, this style of Taijutsu is certainly impressive...

Musing thus silently, Nikola prepared to do more trial runs with the new Strong Fist style's "Shadow of the Dancing Leaf" jutsu that he set himself to learning now. Once these were over, he proceeded on to the repetitive performance of this jutsu to acquire both the mental as well as the physical memory for it to the required level to have finished learning it successfully. Thus, Nikola was able to successfully learn the "Shadow of the Dancing Leaf" jutsu and then stopped to review the data he gleaned from these jutsu field testing trials and once he did, he decided to stop for the day and head back home for a nice long rest till next time.
