Team Artifice Fundraising Pt. 3

Missions:

Neo had long since finished her drink when the two genin students returned from their six hour shift. the sun had reached its apex and even started going down by then, but the Jounin remained on her bench, with only some minor changes in her position, such as her left leg now being swung over her right leg. Ancha was also not present, and the Fuuma shuriken and both glasses were missing as well. The sensei raises an eyebrow when she sees Kiyoshi and Nikola return, and looks again at her stopwatch, noticing that they had four hours to complete three more missions; she supposed the gate watching mission might have been a bit of a cheat, but two of the three remaining missions were actually fairly simple combat missions. Although she didn't feel all that comfortable sending most two genin out to handle combat so early on in their careers, she knew that these genin were at least capable enough to handle most anything that went their way. As though to prove her faith in them, she raises her stopwatch to show them that it actually had a little bit more than four hours remaining, before tossing the two genin the scroll for the next mission, one for training some tradesman's brat.

It's just then that Ancha returns, carrying a meal in two bowls and a steaming pitcher of water, and the companion sits next to Neo while the woman pours the water into both of their bowls, and instantly the scent of a hot, well-seasoned meal hits the air, full of a braised dried beef, broccoli, egg noodles, and so many spices. Should the two genin still be there, Neo waves them off, and then signs for Ancha to speak to them.

"Lady Neo promises that you will have your meals paid for as well, as a bonus if you manage to do these next three missions in less than four hours."

This was actually a lie; Neo was prepared to pay for their meals whether they finished the missions in that time or not. Good ninja deserved food.

Nikola had returned to where Neo was waiting and began to wait on standby mode for Kiyoshi to return as well. As he waited, he observed Neo and as he did, he saw Ancha come back bearing a meal and some equipment to prepare it for the two of them. Naturally, Nikola did not have any visible response to this, but just made a silent mental note of the fact that Neo would apparently be paying for the team's meals once they were finished with these missions while keeping his neutral and calm expression on his face. Then, he looked on as he received the next mission's details from the two and mulled it over as he perused it

Hmm...a spar...with a civilian, no less...no jutsu above C-rank is to be used...and no maiming or killing of anyone...this sounds simple enough...even with this limitation, I still have plenty of options that are available to me...however, it is crucial to coordinate with the rest of the team on this, so that is obviously the point of this mission, that is to say, teamwork practice...

Nikola thought silently as he committed the mission details and the route map to the place where the merchant's son was waiting to his eidetic memory. Then, he headed off with the rest of his team to said location and found the merchant's son waiting for them with his spear in hand and at the ready to be used against them in the planned spar. So, Nikola wasted no time in coordinating his maneuvers with his teammates and for his own part, he resorted to using D-rank and C-rank Taijutsu (namely, a sequential combo comprised of Leaf Whirlwind and Leaf Rising Wind to knock him up into the air after first knocking his spear away, Shadow of the Dancing Leaf to then appear in midair immediately below him, and finally Shatter Palm and Slamming Palm to flip him over in midair to knock him back down to the ground). Nikola chose to use this against this opponent of theirs since he deemed his insect jutsu to be too much for this civilian to handle properly which would, in turn, cause him to fail the mission and be left out of the rewards acquisition at the end of it all. Consequently, it did not take him and his team that much effort or time to corner and then lead the merchant's son to a checkmate in this sparring match that they were assigned to have against him

So it turned out as I had expected, after all...this IS a mere civilian facing off against not one but two official genin, basically professional soldiers albeit of lowest tier, simultaneously...

Nikola thought silently as he watched the merchant's son then thank them for the spar and so, he put on his usual cordial, well-practiced, but convincingly natural businessman's smile for said son of the merchant that had hired them for this mission and proceeded to heal the boy's injuries with his Mystical Palm Technique from his medical jutsu portion of his overall repertoire. Then, Nikola bid him adieu, collected the proof of mission completion from the boy and then headed back to where Neo and Ancha were presumably waiting for their return to report back to them once again. However, shortly after he returned to them and began waiting for the next mission to start, he received a message from the Aburame clan elders and his parents regarding some urgent clan-related issue that apparently needed to be handled without delay and thus, he was forced to notify Neo, Ancha, as well as the rest of his squad regarding his inability to participate alongside them any further in their planned mission series. Then, he took his leave of them all and headed back to the Aburame clan's compound where his family was waiting for his return so they could send him to fulfill the aforementioned clan-related emergency issue.

(NIKOLA'S EXIT)

Kiyoshi wondered just how they were going to be able to complete three missions in less than four hours considering the time the first two had taken, but with any luck they may just be able to pull it off. One of his friends had a son that wanted to learn how to fight with his new spear. Though under normal circumstances he would love to spend the day showing the younger boy the ins and outs of combat, unfortunately today was not a day for that they had a time limit that they needed to complete and so Kiyoshi would pull out all the stops and go all in against the kid to try to get this over with as quickly as possible. Kiyoshi was certain that either him or Nikola could likely take the boy out easily on their own the fact that the request for two genin to spar against him was certainly odd, however Kiyoshi would respect that and use what he had learned to work together with Nikola. Summoning his five puppets, Kiyoshi would quickly surround their opponent in all directions with them, allowing Nikola to fill in the gaps between the puppets with his bugs so that there would be no escape for the boy as they began their onslaught. It wouldn't take long for the two of them to overpower the kid with their combined efforts, between the puppets attacking from all sides moving at speeds that the kid likely couldn't even see let alone keep up with on top of the bugs that Nikola employed it did not take long before the kid was knocked unconscious, and the duo was successful in their missions. They would rouse the kid to ensure no lasting injuries were to occur, considering that neither one of them wanted to truly hurt him, they simply needed to get the mission done as quickly as possible so that they could move on to the next ones. As Nikola healed the kid, Kiyoshi would explain to the kid that he should start smaller next time and find a single opponent to spar against rather than trying to take on two at the same time. When Nikola informed them that he had to leave due to clan bussiness, Kiyoshi would frown wondering how he would complete the last two missions on his own now or if Neo would call it a day.
