Apple and a Snake

Late at night sitting in his office Burittsu was enthusiastic as he dug in the memories of Blitz as one memory stopped and remained lodged in his mind. The day the two tailed beast was released in the village. On that day lives were lost and could not be replaced as the young boy at the time didn’t even feel a shred of joy. That day he was fully aware of the life of a shinobi watching others battle the mighty beast as a couple of his comrades were sent off to the afterlife. In an attempt to constrain such a beast yet only a handful made it out after the event yet the only thing that rang in his mind.

Was the jewel that kept one of his former comrades stable only for them to die anyway that stone was embedded in the male's body. Now that very stone rested upon the desk shining from the rays of moonlight that peered through the window. Contemplating about what he learned from just using such an item he doubted that it would change the outcome for him if he failed to control his own beast. Yet he doubted he would need to use such methods as he placed his hand on his stomach.

The tailed beast within him didn’t seem harmful yet it wouldn’t matter if he didn’t at least try to have some type of reason to keep the connection they had mutual. Let alone being friendly didn’t hurt, after all it was the boy who had the chance and took it to enclosing and trapping such a beast within him. Using the stone to maintain a cheap way of living and growing stronger wasn't his way of the shinobi. Burittsu sighed before feeling a rather discomfort he had not felt since returning from Konoha as he burped out a bubble from within. And soon multiple sets of bubbles from within till he came to a stop as his office had medium sized bubbles floating around and even bouncing off each other.

Before popping it appeared either he was catching up with the presence of the beast or the mighty Bijuu was always watching and waiting. Regardless he turned around and went to the desk before placing the stone back in its rightful place. As he turned his back to the box to only feel a tiny breeze rush through the office leaving the Anbu to do their job of storing and protecting such things in the village. Chuckling a little bit he wanted a way to grow stronger but using that method was not his strongest option.

Burittsu enjoyed the peace of his office before a slight growl from Samehada felt it had seemed something or someone unfamiliar. Had now entered the senses of the blade meaning they were within reach of the shinobi attempting to do whatever they came to plan for upon this time of night. If it was an assassin he would hope they came better equipped for the means to kill such a man who didn’t feel like death could take him. Making sure everything was hidden from view of whoever it would be this time of night he was sure the black ops of the village were already on high alert.

It didn’t matter to him as he made for the door itself if it was an assassin by all means he would die his own way. If the kill could even be done yet with blue hair bouncing around he could only smirk since being behind the desk he had nothing but paperwork done and the village to be checked on and observed daily. He even missed the days of his former comrades heading out and doing missions but this was all he needed now from time to time.

Someone that would force his hand as the knock upon the door was heard Burittsu was already awaiting on the other side standing firm. Letting it Burittsu placed his hand upon the door knob quickly twisting it and opening the door. Yet it was no assassin, just a new face one he would have seen before around the village yet one that gave him a familiar feeling. Samehada remained stoic upon his back as his demonic armor did most of the glaring for the boy due to the fact somewhere within he was disappointed. But without knowing who this one was he had no choice but to see if they were a spy sent by someone or truly one of his own wanting to be a full fledged shinobi. Gazing at her for a moment indeed someone who had never been in his eyesight was now showing themselves.

“It’s too late for visitors, especially here. Name?”

Watching the figure in front of him not even an answer was given but the way his body began to react Burittsu saw from his eyes that something was occurring. Closing the door half way as the sounds of the male expelling his stomach and the smell of his own acid filled the air. He could care less if the boy was new but letting him get whatever sickness he had to cause him to have this reaction was not something he wanted. Letting the putrid smell and gunk spill all over the door was beneficial instead of anything landing on him. Samehada could only give off a low pitch growl that was felt by Burittsu as the owner could only slightly pat his sword.

Chuckling a little bit Burittsu allowed him to have his way in the hallway, throwing up and making his own mess. Half of his mind wanted to shut the door completely and go back to paperwork. Yet the other half didn’t mind the boy cleaning up his own mess. He wondered how the other would feel about such a shinobi walking up and blowing his meal upon the door and floor. Once the boy was done Burittsu gave him a little bit of time watching him through the rest of the opening in the door. From cleaning himself up to saying his name slightly, opening it up a little more, Burittsu used the frame of the door to lean on.

Picking up the name of the young shinobi as it seemed another Yuki had entered his presence and now spilled his history all over the area. It was clear as he looked at him that the male wasn’t full of his bloodline from looks alone he shared a familiar chakra. One that reminded him of his old teacher and how he must have been doing these days in that quiet fortress he loved. The day dream of the good days when he had a chance to break free and fight were cut down by the voice of the newest generation.

Asking questions that needed to only be known by one man and yet he was the newest edition it would seem. With his name down he wouldn’t be forgotten yet again for a face he never seen before he would be watched just like the others. Hearing his question he didn’t give him a response to that sort of subject but he did have something to say about the mess that occurred. He seemed excited but yet that could have meant anything to such a young mind.

Leaning off the door frame as he walked back to his empty desk not a single piece of paper in sight this was one of the nights. That Burittsu caught up on the extra work and updates needed for the village dealing with an unknown problem late at night. Was not in his plans for the night but he could say for anyone else in his position being in the seat all the pressure from different types of shinobi. Indeed it was entirely enjoyable seeing everyone come together in an attempt to push forward and beyond. Talking out loud he made sure the newest shinobi in his land heard what needed to be said.

“Yuki. Stay out there and don’t ask questions when you have a mess to clean up. Go home after you're done with your responsibilities, be sure to clean yourself up after.”

Hearing the boy walk in and closing the door didn’t matter to him the slightest as Samehada could only imitate the growls it did from earlier. Hearing his plea about now wanting to be sent back home yet that didn’t concern the male. As the Yuki member in question seemed concerned enough to want to stay but also wanting more information watching him make his way to and from the desk as he did a little inspection. Complimenting him on how clean he kept the office nothing keeping it empty as the desk remained plain and boring.

Yet he continued from there speaking upon how it was now a rumor the new Kage stood. Different from the past leaders but someone that represented the clan it didn’t matter to the shinobi as he did this for the dreams of another. But the fact the others were talking about it and rumors started to spread instead only meant people were watching. Closely in fact to see who comes in and out of this exact building or due to the change of the village most people probably wondered what happened to the current leaders. Such problems would only pester him in the future but remaining docile as he was meant the rumors could continue without any concrete evidence. Being asked if he was excited only meant many more questions. He wondered if this was a spy here to get Intel or someone here for a bigger game.

Thinking about this he wondered if it was necessary to do anything else after his recent actions were set into play for the benefit of the shinobi and safety of his people. Before coming up with an answer it had seemed that Yuki wanted to know actually who this shinobi was and why wasn’t he never seen before. With that question tossed into the air he could only chuckle to himself as the question that was asked could only be answered with the truth. He never cared for going back home after he saw the slaughter of his family. So he made it brief as he continued to chuckle before filling the mind of the boy with a solid answer he didn’t have a choice but to accept.

“I’m no one and the reason you never saw me there is because I choose to remain a ghost. Too many questions for a stranger to be asking. Why don’t you rest your head and come back in the morning.”

Hearing such words and seeing such actions only made him realize that keeping his information to himself was the smartest idea. The boy boasted about family and sounded as if the others should care about such notions they were shinobi in times of crisis. Burittsu knew deep down how the other side of him felt yet due to the fact it was him in the spotlight he wouldn’t allow anyone to get closer. Especially someone who just appeared during a moment of critical thinking. The coincidences were ironic if he suddenly decided to give up and join in on the conversation.

From the stomping to the worthless crying about such things Burittsu didn’t have a single care when it came to others. His goal was being processed and more people coming in during this period of time was only more distractions then anything useful. Especially the ones who couldn’t help him for the future that would come after seeing what he saw in the land of fire. He only assumed people like this young Yuki who would want to stand on the terms of family and probably honor would be the first to die.

Letting him spill his ideals out to an empty room with no one listening was the perfect way to douse the fire as the new leader of his clan and the village he had no room for arguing. Only the future was seen before his eyes and that was the only goal he had for everyone in the village, a couple people visiting him and telling him how they felt didn’t matter. Cracking his neck as it seemed the boy was finally done bickering as Burittsu turned his attention back to the young individual. Only hearing one question that deserved an honest answer from the bottom of his heart such a question and the boy didn’t know who he was truly talking to meant that he didn’t have a choice but explain it to him in the simplest of terms.

“You don’t know who you’re talking to obviously I’m your clan leader and Mizukage. That’s all you need to know and by the looks of it. Training will be your best friend for someone who has so much passion with no strength behind it. Let’s see how you fare, go home and talk about family to someone who can equate to those feelings. Pleasure to meet you.”

Watching the boy leave without saying a word Burittsu could only smile as his night was finally silent once more he knew the guards were watching. Quietly but not out of his range of depths he could only hope he did the right thing in the end. But pushing away others was the way to keep them away from his plan and keep them safe at the same time. Chuckling to himself this was something the other would most likely do or even worse for such a person to come by at such late hours. He would have assumed the worst immediately and sprung into action the thought only made him miss the good days when he was nothing but a ghost.

Now it was him who stood in the spotlight pushing everyone away from danger with the best possible methods you attained by just going out into the world. Making his way back to his desk as he glanced at it Burittsu wanted to make it simple and those who thought they knew what was best had to figure it out on their own. Rubbing his chin Burittsu knew what had to be done yet the village remained on his shoulders, everyone from residents to shinobi.

Lifting his hand once as a squad of four anbu soldiers appeared in the room behind the boy had to learn how to use his new found strength for more than killing and fighting. Placing the desk in their care allows them to remove the interesting stone from earlier and some extra paperwork. He had one command as he found himself sitting down upon his chair in the dead of night giving a faint smile. He was brief but this would be their relationship from now on.

“Place those contents in a secure location. Anyone attempting to interfere. Let whoever is the strongest of you four behind and the rest returns back to me. I’ll handle any problems myself. Other than that, watch each other's backs. Return when it’s completed.”

Lifting his hand and closing his fist the shinobi dispersed out of the room with contents on their person, a four man team. Heading off deeper into the darkness of the night with one goal in mind to protect the information that was entrusted to them. Leaving Burittsu to wonder where was this influx of new people coming from yet why was one determined to even know who he was. Letting out a brief sigh it didn’t matter as long as the dream of the boy remained alive he wasn’t going to let anyone get close.
