Unlocking Unique NPCs
Unique NPCs (uNPCs) are quite different than your run-of-the-mill NPC as these Unique NPCs can do, pretty much, anything that the user can do. Their list of what they can do will be separate and listed later. However, in order to unlock Unique NPCs, you are required to use the Renown System.

C Rank Unique NPC: Unlocked at 2000 Renown
B Rank Unique NPC: Unlocked at 5000 Renown
A Rank Unique NPC: Unlocked at 15,000 Renown

*S Rank NPCs are considered Restricted. Follow the Restricted Rules for how to get an S Rank Unique NPC.

uNPC Limits
You may only have 1 uNPC of each rank.

Changing uNPC
In the event that you want to change your Unique NPC or if your Unique NPC died, in order to change your Unique NPC, you are required to do a Reset. You cannot gain a new one until then.

Information

EXP is used for Clan Skills or to increase their stats.
Techniques can be either Clan Techniques or other Techniques they are capable of getting (depending on their Skill). C, B, and A Rank uNPCs. These uNPCs cannot have Village Exclusives nor can they have Restricteds of any kind. Nor can they be of any Limited Clan.
Skill Points can be traded for ONLY +500 Spendable EXP. Skill Trades cannot increase the uNPC's Stat Cap (as that remains capped at 20).
uNPCs are capable of having up to 4 Unique Abilities (UA) -- only 2 Unique Abilities can be stat swaps. The uNPC cannot take on any UAs that involves EXP or Ryo.

What uNPCs can do

Roleplay independently of the user
Capable of Scouting Lands
Capable of Assaulting/Attacking Targets
Capable of defending targets
Capable of countering scouts (which requires appropriate IC posting on the part of the person controlling the NPC)
Unique NPCs may purchase things for the player, using the Ryo from the player

What uNPCs CANNOT do

Craft or take on a Crafting Skill. These aren't crafting NPCs granted by a shop. Those are the only NPCs that are capable of crafting
A uNPC's Intelligence WILL NOT assist them in gaining higher ranking Techniques. That's only for PCs.

Upgrading your uNPC
You are capable of upgrading an already established Unique NPC to a higher rank, if you desire, if you have the uNPC slot available. If you have a B Rank Unique NPC and you have an A Rank Unique NPC slot available, you can increase the Unique NPC's Rank to A. This will require a re-apping of the NPC. Upgrading your uNPC will take up both Rank Slots until you perform a Reset, freeing up the previous rank's slot.

Updates
When you successfully create this uNPC, you are required to make an update claiming this uNPC. Anything you equip on the uNPC must also be stated in your updates following. If you equip your uNPC with an Artifact, ensure it is stated that they would be equipped with an Artifact and ensure staff updates the Artifact List.

uNPC starting area
All uNPCs that are created will START in the exact same area that the player is currently at.
