The way the breeze flows

With recent events, Reiko would be considered more than skittish by this point. Sometimes even a gentle breeze would startle her a little. Her long white hair put into a low ponytail, as a few strands she managed to miss were swiped behind her ear. She made her way through the village without anything planned in a simple shirt and skirt as neither really hampered her movement. She made her way past people as smoothly as she could, only accidentally bumping into people every now and again. She at least would apologize immediately. That made up for it overall, right?

It took a while before Reiko just started wandering without even thinking before she was more or less moving on autopilot. She didn't know how long she had been moving while she was lost in thought but as she walked into a wall certainly helped bring her back to reality. Not only did she startle herself upon walking into a wall, she lost her balance and landed on her butt. It would take her a moment to take a breathe and let the embarrassment subside a little of what just happened before standing up and dusting herself off the best the could. Luckily it was later in the afternoon by this point.

Aika walked slowly and gently across the village, noticing the destruction in the wake of Matatabi's attack. Rubble seemed to be everywhere and people seemed to require assistance. Having no such knowledge of the medical arts, she did what she could by following the instructions given to her. Compressing wounds, helping pull people from the rubble of the half-destroyed Mizukage tower. In the interim, she took a small break with a bamboo flask of water, sipping on it slightly. The day was chilled but she started to overheat from all of the effort she had to put into assisting the villagers from harm. She was neither quick nor agile, but she did have considerable strength and a powerful sword by her side -- Beowulf.

She took a quick sip as she started to look around, with her natural eyes, and noticed a woman bumping into others and wandering around aimlessly. Perhaps this woman was also injured during the Bijuu assault? Using Beowulf as a crutch to help herself up, she strung the blade through her miko outfit and approached the white-haired woman. As she approached, she noticed the woman walk into a wall. Using this time to approach her, the sound of her wooden clogs could be heard as she leaned over and assisted Reiko up onto her feet -- lacing her arms through Reiko's armpits and assisted her up that way.

"Miss? Are you okay?" she asked in a soft and gentle voice. She smelled of both flowers and body-odor from her work helping with the survivors of the Bijuu attack. "Were you hurt anywhere from the monster attack?" she asked, examining the woman thoroughly.

She hadn't noticed the sounds of clogs approaching her, though her reaction to someone helping her up by lacing their arms through her armpits and being lifted up that way took a moment for her to process. As she dusted herself off, she'd jump a bit and let out a bit of an audible 'eep' as she spin a bit before stopping and facing the proper direction to the woman who helped her up and was asking if she was ok and if she was hurt anywhere from the attack.

"Yeah, no, what?" She said, at about a million miles an hour. She'd hold up a finger as she took a few deep breathes to calm herself a bit. "Yeah, I'm fine. I was lucky enough to be unharmed from the attack." Her nerves were a bit shot still from the sight of the monster and the other giant things near it. Hell even the people who she could barely notice next to the monster upon remembering, sent a shiver down her spine. "I've just had things on my mind." She said as she finally took a bit of a look at the woman who had helped her. Her heart almost skipped a bit as everything finally caught up to her as she felt her face feel a little flush as she looked away for a moment before taking another deep breathe before looking back at her.

"Thank you for helping me up. I'm Reiko, by the way."

Aika jumped a bit at her reaction and she placed her palms upon her lap and started to bow profusely. "My apologies for startling you! It was not my intention," she said before standing up straight, her hair now a tossed and disheveled mess. She moved her hands up to smoothen out her hair, her palms calloused from holding the blade that was strapped to her hip. "Well, that's good to know. I hope you and your family are doing well and nobody is gravely hurt," she said in a soft and kind voice. Her voice was sweet like a melody that blew through the wind, like the gentle song of wind chimes. Her clothes were grimy and covered in dirt and soot.

"My name is Aika. It is nice to meet you, miss Reiko. And this here," she said pointing down to her weapon. "is Beowulf. Introduce yourself, Beowulf," she said as the weapon remained silent for a brief moment. The moment of silence made everything a bit awkward. She rattled the weapon. "Beowulf, please, you're embarrassing me, she mentioned with a rather unsettled laugh.

"Hi," the weapon simply stated. It had a rough nordic accent that might be difficult for others to understand. It didn't want to say much and, quite frankly, didn't like it when Aika forced him to talk. However, due to being a shard of Aika's soul and mixed with the soul of another distant warrior's, he felt more than compelled (forced) to speak.

Upon seeing the woman bow profusely and apologize, Reiko would smile slightly. "No, it's ok. No need to apologize." She'd say, letting out a bit of a chuckle. Watching the woman fix her hair and state that she hoped that her and her family are doing well and that nobody was gravely hurt. "Yeah... everyone's fine..." She'd reassure the woman, her voice travelling off a little as she maintained her composure, that metaphorical wound still a bit raw, though here was neither the time nor the place to share it after all.

"It's nice to meet you as well, Aika." She'd say as Aika asked Beowulf to introduce themself as she pointed at the sword at her waist. She really went to have the sword introduce itself? Reiko let out a bit of an awkward laugh as the woman before her told the sword that it was embarassing her. She wasn't sure if the woman was entirely there, but as soon as it spoke with such an accent, it took her quite off guard. She'd blink for a moment before any reaction as she was just processing that Aika's sword just... spoke to her. Was she losing her mind now?

"It's nice to meet you as well, Beowulf..." She said, her voice trailing off as she looked at the sword now. She had to accept the fact that she now had to deal with talking to a sword, something she didn't expect to... ever do.

Beowulf doesn't respond. She let out a small sigh and simply shrugged her shoulders. Beowulf can be like that sometimes around new people. Being a shard of her own soul, it did portray a bit of her own personality while also having a personality of it's own. It was quite strange that Reiko didn't respond negatively to her talking to a sword nor the sword talking back. She pressed her palms against each other and pulled back just so her fingers were only touching one another with a sigh of relief. "Well, that's good to hear. It would be awful if tragedy were to strike," she said with a breathy voice. She didn't have anyone in her life that she could rely on any more. The only solace she had with her adoptive parents dying together was that they died happy, knowing that they lived a long loving life together.

Aika bowed once more respectfully to Reiko upon introduction. The sound of rubble crashing could be heard as the sound of a child crying cut through the air. This caused Aika's eyes to shoot open. "I can really use your help, please," she said as she rushed over towards the rubble and started to pick up anywhere from small rocks to about 50 pounders about the size of a soccer ball. She was even capable of picking up even larger.

She spoke softly to the child that was inside. "Don't you worry, I'm coming to get you okay. Just relax and don't panic," she mentioned before carefully removing more rocks.

Reiko smiled gently as she listened to Aika before seeing her bow and hearing a child cry as the woman would ask for her help before rushing over to help people. The cry that cut through the silence startled her a bit, in which she'd let out a quiet sigh as the woman went to help out.

After a moment she'd move in the same direction that Aika had gone so that she could help her out though it wasn't for any particular reason, aside from that she had asked. She was still processing everything she had seen the day of the attack. It didn't take her very long to get to where Aika was and to help her on the rubble, as she started moving pieces along with the woman to get to the child. Grabbing small and large pieces of rubble by herself would attempt to help Aika if need be with any larger pieces.

After a brief struggle, the cries grew louder, showing that there was a hole with a direct airway between the child and the outside world. A small boy that cried out for his mommy could be heard. She bit her lower lip as she noticed the rocks starting to lose their integrity. She had to think! If she didn't act fast, the child could be crushed under the rubble of a fallen building -- located no more than 100m away from the Mizukage Office where a large chunk of the top was blown off by the Bijuu. "If you use me to cut the rubble, your new friend could quickly run into the rubble and grab the child before the rubble falls. Cut it vertically and then horizontally outwards," Beowulf suggested. She thought of this for a brief moment. It was really risky, but they were running out of time.

Turning to look towards Reiko, she unsheathed Beowulf from it's sheath. "Miss, I'm going to cut this rock, I need you to run in and grab the child after I do, okay?" she stated before turning to look towards everyone else, clearing them away. Everyone at this wreckage knew who Aika was and she simply took a breath in through her nostrils and took on the Dragon Style stance. She gave herself a wide stance while holding Beowulf in both of her hands with the blade facing up. "Please back up, child. Curl up into a ball and don't move okay. Miss Aika and Miss Reiko are going to help you out," she said in her calm and sweet tones. The child instantly grew quiet and shifting could be heard.

She closed her eyes and opened them, activating her Denrankyugan, capable of seeing the child's electric field. She had a very clear visual on the child. "I will be cutting in 3... 2... 1...," she said as she swung down, nearly missing the child before Beowulf's blade touched the ground. She swung her blade outwards, away from the child, leaving the child in a quickly collapsing 'cave' of their own. The child looked terrified and mortified, reaching their hand out towards Reiko. She rushed forward, kicking more of the debris out of the way to give Reiko a chance to grab the child.
