Description: Word has spread of a smuggling ring going by the name of ‘Serenity’ that has recently been making waves in the area. They are led by a man named Captain Malcom Reynolds, a retired war veteran. Intel suggests that they are looking for new crew to aid in their work. Gain their trust and discover the real story.

Tamwyn stood near a campfire, hands up to show he wasn’t carrying a weapon at the innocuous looking man that was holding the cute mechanic girl hostage. He held a kunai to her throat as he began to nervously take command of the situation. Honestly, this whole mission had gone to hell in a handbasket. They had been tasked with joining the crew of the smuggling group referred to as ‘Serenity’ to see if they were a threat to Kumogakure. They being Tamwyn and Yenn. Their mission goal was to gather intel and their trust to decide if they were a potential threat and eliminate them if necessary. However things seemed to be going frantically as in the middle of dinner around camp one night another potential crew member took the crew's engineer hostage with a knife to her throat.

The man was trying to force two other new crew members to come with him so he could take them back to his ‘Alliance’ superiors. Whatever that meant. Still it meant bad news for Tamwyn and Yenn, although this could perhaps be a good sign for them. The doctor’s story of taking back his kidnapped sister from the Alliance after they had experimented on her had struck a chord with both the Captain of Serenity, and Tamwyn himself. Perhaps if they helped with this situation, trust would be gained. They had already learned much, that the Serenity was trying to stop this group called the ‘Alliance’. That the doctor, Simon, and his sister, River, were fugitives on the Alliances radar. That had all been gleaned from the simple, few minute showdown between the innocuous looking assassin and Capt. Reynolds. Tamwyn sighed, blowing the air out and up toward his hair before speaking. “Why us?..” He groaned in annoyance.

Yenn and Tamwyn were becoming a force to be reckoned with. At least in the eyes of bandits and Yakuza. Their newest mission assignment was to ‘infiltrate’ the crew of the Serenity and determine if they were a threat to Kumogakure or not. Before she had even met them Yenn had sincerely doubted they were any type of threat. Her doubt in the bureaucracy of Kumogakure had been waning significantly as of late and she was more than a little jaded regarding their mission parameters. It wasn’t particularly difficult to insert themselves as potential crew members and Yenn was actually quite pleased to be considered part of the group. Which was a far cry from the intentional distancing she’d been used to doing with virtually everyone else.

During a nice dinner around a campfire and some jovial conversation one of the other potential crew members decided to suddenly go off the deep end and hold the crew’s engineer hostage with a knife at her throat. Yenn was understandably upset over the whole ordeal, somehow viewing violence had never gotten any easier, unlike the fake facts spouted by the people who hated the media insisted that you believe. Over the myriad of terrible and questionable missions she and Tamwyn had taken part in, Yenn had developed a particular distaste for young women being threatened in any way. Seeing the young female engineer with a knife poised to cut her throat Yenn would stand immediately taking a couple careful steps towards the attacker, her gloved hands outstretched towards the man, palms out in a non threatening manner. “Hey there, let her go. Why don’t you come pick on someone your own size?” His ‘own size’ was the petite and five foot nothing Yenn, which was comical at best. There was no humour in Yenn’s eyes however as she continued to advance on him, attempting to convince him that she was a much more suitable hostage than the young woman he was currently threatening. Much like she had done with Tamwyn in their first encounter with Yaun Ji. This time though with less anger and significantly less desire to actually die. “I’m just going to switch places with her okay? I’m not going to hurt you. You can take me in her place.” Yenn was absolutely not going to hurt the man, she was less honest about what might happen since Tamwyn was there. The only thing she was trying to accomplish was getting the knife away from the engineers throat.

Sighing to himself as Yenn took charge of the situation he would nod his head and slapping himself a few times. Getting himself into gear as it were. The assassin would look to Yenn, and then him in nervousness, knife still poised at the girls throat.[color:9cdb=339933] “Wh-What’s he doing?!” He would ask Yenn, apparently not bothering to ask Tamwyn that very same question. My, how rude. Activating his lightning release armor, Tamwyn would move quickly behind the assassination at a higher speed than the man could even see. Causing him to appear behind him before the clearly nervous man could even notice he had moved. Touching the man lightly on the neck, Tamwyn would activate ‘Overload’ and cause the man to ‘shut down’. The knife would drop from his hand as his nervous system went into forceful shut down, falling uselessly to the ground. He would unconsciously let the engineer go, who would run behind Capt. Reynolds and his second in command Zoe. Tamwyn would proceed to get some rope and tie the man up like the nice little packaged hostage he was.

This would prompt the rest of the crew to nod at him and Yenn in thanks, and when the assassin woke up he shared all the goodies. That is, the information that he would obviously have. Tamwyn may have had to use a lightning jutsu or two to get said information out of him. Overall it was a busy night. In the morning Reynolds would share their story as well, deciding to trust Yenn and Tamwyn after what they had done to protect his crew. Listening to their story about how they were out to take down some massive group called ‘The Alliance’, Tamwyn would nod and judge the crew of Serenity no threat to Kumogakure. Instead he would decide to help them with their goals and see how eliminating this ‘Alliance’ from Kumogakure territory himself. With Yenn’s help of course.

Yenn hadn’t been worried for her own safety, as long as she had been with him Tamwyn had never let anything happen to her. As long as you didn’t count the Darhk Seal. Which she didn’t. That had been entirely voluntary and she had been warned that it was going to hurt. Not exactly how much it was going to hurt, but still. As the would-be assassin looked from her to who she could only assume was Tamwyn she would just raise one eyebrow at the cowardly man’s question. With a shrug she would dismiss the question and pick up the knife as the man dropped it after getting swiftly ‘dealt with’. Shaking her head she would grin at Tamwyn. “You really are a hero you know.” She looked into his yellow eyes with pure adoration as she spoke, breaking his gaze to chide the fallen assassin. “You should have just finished dinner. It was going so well.”

She helped tie up the man, though she spent a good deal of time at the edge of camp trying to fight off her nausea as their captive was ‘questioned’. She listened to the crew’s explanation of their true mission, to take down the corrupt group called the ‘Alliance’. It was a sad story that involved far too much fear and running and obvious abuses of power. She could sympathize with the Serenity crew and she decided that they weren’t a threat at all. To her it seemed that these were some of the people that were actually trying to set things right in Kumogakure. It was something she could believe in and she definitely needed an ideal to hold on to.
