Grooming the Future

Hana had her own office as apart of Kirigakure's administrative task. Between balancing the budget for the month she couldn't break her mind away from Katsumi's performance during their first training session. She quickly became an unstoppable machine that even she could hardly contain. She was lean and built naturally as a Taijutsu fighter. She didn't know if she should take it as a hit to her pride or acknowledge Katsumi as a true protege. Regardless, Kirigakure was a very wealthy city and had the funds to spare.

A pair of heavy-duty black combat boots covered both feet made with exceptional craftsmanship and reinforced with steel toe caps and soles embedded in the leather. A set of heavy black pants were worn over her lower body. These were equipped with iron shin guards which were fashioned as bands going across her shins lined up next to each other leaving no gaps for weak points. The knees had hard plastic and cushioning backing it to allow ease of comfort when crawling through tight spaces. Hardened plastic was also sown into the upper legs and hips of the pants as well. Like all Shinobi she wore a utility belt to hold her pants against her body and carry her essential supplies.

A single blue holster was on the right side of the belt and a hip pouch around her back side just above her rear. Both were filled to capacity with ninja tools. A short sleeved undershirt was worn as her first layer. This shirt was one fitted with riveted steel mail designed to be flexible and lightweight providing protection and encumbering her minimally. Her second layer was a long sleeve black shirt similar in craftsmanship of the leggings. It was a heavy and durable top with steel rings sewn at the elbows in a cuff providing maximum protection at the joints. Rings of steels were sewn in at the upper portion of the torso as well providing protection at her upper chest and back and around her shoulders. This top was secured with the final piece of body armor being the Kirigakure standard flak jackets, this one made especially for Hana being much more superior in craftsmanship compared to the regular stock option. Black leather gloves covered both hands being basic in design providing warmth and protection. These came with small steel plates on the backs to provide protection against blades.

Hana wore a baldric over her gear to support a tanto she had horizontally on her back just above her hip pouch. Like most Kaguya her skin was deathly pale. This was coupled with long white hair which was relatively thick compared to the long, silky strands a lot of the more feminine clan females had, which required day-to-day dedication to maintain. Hers was a bit untamed and high in both length and volume extending as far as her lower back. Her eyes were the only true difference in her appearance compared to the rest of her clan having an alluring golden hue to them.

Hana had her cloak hung on a coat hook build into her door. Her Shinobigatana was resting across her executive desk which rested upon scattered papers and envelops. Before her was a fast food wrapper spread open with a triple cheeseburger with the works rested on top. It was halfway eaten as expected. She stared vacantly out the window which gave her an expansive view over the massive metropolis. Hana was resting on her chair when the thought occurred. She had a theory. With her planning the next Chuunin Exams for Kirigakure she wanted to make sure the Water Empire performed well. Of course performance was half the battle. Hana wasn't the wisest, but she knew impressions went a long way. Material wealth and personal grooming was very important. If Katsumi is going to be the poster girl for Kirigakure she needs to look the part. She seems like the stubborn type, but I'm curious if she will take me up on my offer.

Her plan was very simple. She planned to finance her and her family with the best accommodations Kirigakure can afford. On top of fitting her with the best gear available she would serve as a model for Kirigakure during the exams. Rolling back to her computer desk she'd do a quick background search on Katsumi and her family to estimate the budget needed. And here Hana came across the most fortunate surprise. A sister Genin? Kitsuki...Strange I haven't heard Katsumi mention her. I wonder if they're on good terms. Oh well. Today is your lucky day. With a few quick taps on the keyboard she'd conquer up two papers, print them, and prepare them in an envelop. The envelops were sealed with wax, pressed with an insignia, and made official. At the end of the day she'd grab her gear and drop the letters off in the outbox within the building to be mailed to their address. The two sisters would receive the letter the next day.

A job is a job, and delivering messages is important, even if it isn’t glamorous. The tall, black haired genin would move into the administration building and find the outbox, the location for all the outgoing mail from the building. He’d pick up the letters, and find a few within, most being simple drop offs. One however was marked as needing a response. It was addressed to a ‘Kitsuki’. He would have to track her down and deliver this in person, wherever she might be within the village. Then await for her to write a response, and deliver said response back. Either placing it directly in the ‘In’ box, or placing the response directly within the recipients hand. Calis wasn’t anyone special, yet. However he fully intended to change that one day, whether anyone noticed as he did so, or not. He’d simply have to start with being a mailman. It was his best option without the fortune of his merchant family to rely on. That was alright though, a little work never hurt anyone.

Calis wore his black Shihakusho with his white haori on top. His black hair was decorated with kenseikan and a few strands fell forward to fall in front of his face. His black combat boots, sturdy enough to protect him from the elements and not much else completed the look. Frankly, it was a simple enough look. However it suited him greatly in his eyes and it was one he intended to keep. He would double check the outbox quickly, ensuring he didn’t accidentally leave anything behind, before nodding to himself and leaving. It was time to do his job, and like any task he performed. He aimed to do it well.

Calis would return, not too terribly long after leaving to find the secretary of the Mizukage working late. He would knock politely on the door and after being told to come in he would poke his head in, give a small smile and nod before speaking. “Kitsuki Kurahasa responded to Lady Mizukage’s letter In her exact words ‘I accept.’” He would say, prompting the secretary to nod and jot it down. The Mizukage would see that in the morning, he might even get more deliveries to make if he continued to be so prompt. He’d have to see.
