When Titans Clash

If only Honiko could see them now. Raijin was covered in a white cloak and the Kazekage hat on his head. He had quarantined the area for about 500 meters. But he was sure Suna ninja wouldn notice the great battle that would ensue.

For too long he was seen as a crutch to the Society. Lately he had changed that narrative. He was adamant that he would make his own mark on history and the Society's. But first thing first. He had to show Nozomi the extent of his training.

"This can be our playground whenever we want. Now whenever you are ready. We'll save some energy when we return to Konoha. "

He sunk into the Goken Strong fist style. This was hailed fighting style from the Leaf. Nozomi was one of the best fighters on the planet. He had been on the receiving end plenty of times now. He would be wise to watch her movements.

Nozomi had followed Raijin, a little disinterested, but slightly curious to see how, or even if, he'd improved. She knew that he could get strong when he actually used his bloodline, but she also knew that his baseline power wasn't quite up there with her own just yet. It was more or less fine, but she was used to pulling her punches so as not to kill him in their spars, and for the moment, she'd do the same, until she could see the depths of his abilities.

She wore her standard gear, which had been repaired from the collateral of Akihiro's attacks by now.

Ready for combat, Nozomi adopted a casual stance, not actually falling into any of the styles she herself knew, Nozomi kept her eyes on Raijin and advanced forward, closing the gap between them, restricting her speed to B tier, well within her comfort zone. The fight would ramp up at some point, but for now she was going to feel out Raijin's speed and strength.

Nozomi was fully on guard, and with that acknowledgement, her Body Like Steel was active, keeping her perfectly safe from most strikes. She'd open up with a massive left uppercut, aiming for Raijin's jaw for a quick knock out strike. Nozomi's striking speed and strength was not held back in the slightest, only mitigated by her lack of standard form being used.

Nozomi, while beginning movement for the uppercut, and midstep from advancing towards Raijin, slammed her foot into the ground with as much force as she could muster, the power behind it fracturing the ground under them and shaking the area, which Nozomi planned on using to disorient Raijin and knock him off balance. It was a quick combination, but then this wasn't to see how fast Nozomi could end a fight, this was a spar with Raijin so he could prove himself to her.

Raijins was pressed. He had always been to weak in the eyes of his teachers. Probably because he was very weak when he began. But thanks to his training and troubled life, it began to harden him. The many ass kickings from Nozomi and Honiko were testament to his resilience to learn. Would he finally be able to overcome Nozomi now? Hard to measure your strength against the strongest in the world. All he could do was show how powerful he had become. If it was enough, than he could live with that.

As soon as Nozomi took off from her stance. She was moving slower than usual, he was sure she could move abnormally fast. Speeds that no normal ninja would able to handle. He was able to ready himself for her assault.  Nozomi stopped short to swing a blinding uppercut. But as soon as she stepped within a meter, a blast of lightning chakra erupted from his body at an incredible pace. If it were to hit, something would split from the side of Raijin.

Raijin had learned many techniques from the scrolls they had picked up from Konoha. Increasing their knowledge and powers respectively. He could not hope to match hands with Nozomi, he had learned from his mistakes of course. Only a few on the planet could keep up with her. He had to figure out a different way to land a hit on her.

The Chidori Current would scour forward, presumably shocking her. She was very resilient, it would barely harm her even with its advanced strength. Though it would shock her enough to stun her long enough for him to land a successful hit.  A spitting image of himself quickly sprang from his body. The Fission technique was another gem the Konoha ninja had taken from Iwa. Without the need for handseals, the perfect doppelganger. If Nozomi was stunned, Parallax 1 would step forward and try a strong forward punch towards her chest that would send her sailing backwards.

Parallax 2 would jump backwards and dash around to the right of the Snake Sages rear, being weary of her immense strength despite what he threw at her.

Nozomi's speed was lowered on purpose, specifically to let herself not fall for any traps, and the instant Raijin released the jutsu, Nozomi was able to pick up on it, the electric jutsu moving towards her at speeds relative to her own. Reversing her speed, Nozomi's step pushed her backwards and out of the range of the Chidori current. She'd learned it herself, so she also knew the drawbacks were that he had to remain still when using it, so there wasn't going to be any immediate follow ups from him with it. It was probably a good thing that she knew the technique already and that Raijin had more than likely learned it, or she might have actually walked into it, but that wasn't the case.

Of course he didn't want her necessarily getting close, as that was her area of expertise. Nozomi couldn't blame Raijin for that, it was the smart move, but it didn't really make her all that into the fight. Nozomi enjoyed sparring with people, but she didn't often get to just have a decent Taijutsu fight. People liked to do all sorts of tricky things and force Nozomi into using ninjutsu to dominate the fight.

Still, Nozomi wasn't particularly a fan of using ninjutsu as her fall back, and right now she wasn't really in a place to use Water Heaven's Convergence either without using a set up water jutsu, not something she cared to do either. But if she could force him to use chakra and she didn't use any herself, then she'd be able to fully dominate the fight later on too. Nozomi set her mind to not using jutsu until she absolutely needed to. Stamina conservation was very important, and Raijin couldn't just regenerate his own chakra either. There was always a limit to an opponents longevity.

Mid leap backwards, Nozomi pulled out 4 shuriken and launched them at Raijin. With the speed and force of her launching weapons, he would either be forced to maintain the upkeep to stop himself from being slammed with Shuriken, or he'd more than likely take the hits. Either way, it worked in Nozomi's favor. She'd keep him stun locked in his own Chidori Current if this was the game he wanted to play. She was more than comfortable doing that.

Nozomi stopped herself about 20 meters away from Raijin, out of the range of the Current, but close enough that the moment he dropped it, she could clear the distance and engage Raijin in close quarters again. Assuming that he was maintaining the upkeep on the Current, then the Fission clone, if still made, would get caught in the current since it wasn't immune to Raijin's technique. If he didn't make the clone, then there was no additional Raijin to deal with, and she'd work on whittling down his chakra reserves.

She'd already have drawn out 4 more shuriken upon launching the first round, preparing to launch another volley as well. No point in wasting the time to set up. It was a good defensive technique, Currents was not without its drawbacks. Nozomi wasn't a fan of techniques that locked down movement of the caster for that particular reason.

Yui would be ner the training grounds when she heard some noise and it did not seem like a genin training. She would smile and move closer before reaching an area blocked off by the village but she could still see the action. She would see two people she actually felt fear of, she could tell they were very powerful as her danger senses tingled, as she stared hard at the pair and their actions her eyes would begin to glow as she was a bit thrown off at first but she could see their body heat. Still, during this time it was annoying to use due to the sun's brightness and everything during the heat of the day giving off heat sources, it was still a nifty tool as she would deactivate her dragon eyes and keep watching.

It was like a blue she could hardly keep up with the movements, she would just see the clashes that briefly paused them, this was what strong shinobi fighting looked like. Her eyes were wide open this was beyond impressive to her as she wanted to cheer for one side but really had no idea who to cheer for. So she would do the right thing and just cheer the overall fight.

"You guys are the best, and you are amazing FIGHT ON, FIGHT ON, FIGHT ON"

If they looked over they would see the small dragon girl cheering with her hands raised in the air cheering her hardest, this was the most amazing battle she had seen in her life and she was sure it would become more exciting.

As he had expected. Nozomi was quick to act, there would be no taking her unawares. Since she had stopped short about 20 meters from Raijin, just outside his Chidori Current range. She was at least quick on attack. Nozomi responded by throwing shuriken at him. Normally that would be problematic to a younger Raijin. But now his defenses were better. The scales surrounding his body hardened, becoming more armored akin to the Dragons. The lightning had dissipated as he had not maintained the attack and let it flash away. Nozomi had quickly drawn several shuriken and launched them at Raijin.

She wanted to maintain pressure on him. Which would work of course, thankfully he had another pool chakra that served him well. The shuriken bounced off his armor and they all fell to the ground. Nozomi had also prepared another wave of shuriken which also fell harmlessly against his armor. "Fast as always Nozomi-sensei. Now, to show you what else I've been mastering in my training."

There was a slight disruption in the air as the area around Raijin began to vibrate. A small explosion of dark chakra showered away from the Dragon Sage. The explosion was small in nature only reaching about ten meters. Well away from Nozomi who was standing about 20 meters away. Raijin had activated his V2 cloak for the first time. The feeling was unusual but it felt powerful. The dark feelings of the Zero tails was even more unbearable then usual. He had developed a mental fortitude against the Leech. But this was different, he had direct control of its power. And it enticing to say the least.

After the dust cleared, there was a chaotic dark chakra bubbling all around Raijins body. Seething hatred given form cloaked around him. The invisible ethereal wings were on the back of Raijin and gave him flight. He began to levitate off the ground slightly giving a few inches off the ground. Assuming the Arhat Fighting stance once again, he landed on the ground and he aimed is offense towards Nozomi. Now he would be able to keep up with the Snake Sage of Ryuchi Cave. A battle that was fated between their masters.

He was also acutely aware of a young girl watching them from afar. Their battle had attracted eyes, he couldn't help it. The beast within made him much more reckless.

After a moment, it began to dawn on Raijin. This amount of force seemed unnecessary. He had gotten to excited in his bout against Nozomi. She had always been three steps ahead of him, and she was a renowned fighter. The inner temptation to finally best her made him release his spirit bijuu. With his bond with the beast, it made him more reckless. The Kazekage powered down, the black chakra surrounding him like maelstrom dissipated.

"Apologies for my show of power. It was necessary to keep up with you. But it seems we have an audience. So lets continue this another time." He would bow to Nozomi and turn away.

Nozomi frowned at the show of force that Raijin exhibited. She wasn't incredibly concerned with it, knowing that in a battle to the death, she would more than likely come out on top, but there was something she hadn't been quite expecting to see. Raijin wasn't the weakling that had joined the Society with her at the Valley anymore. He was, in his own rights, a strong force to be reckoned with. Part of her was excited to test him, but before she could move into a combat stance and ramp up her fight, Raijin controlled himself and dropped the cloak.

Disappointed, Nozomi understood his reasonings though. If they began to fight more and more all out, then things wouldn't be good for their surroundings, or any bystanders or passersby. "Very well. At your leisure."

Gathering her things, Nozomi headed out. There was a lot to ponder. Raijin was strong, and she wondered how she wanted to use him, or if she wanted to let him do his own thing. That much was clear enough.
