Protect your maps in a beautiful, handcrafted scroll case that easily fits within your backpack or can add a little flair to your desk or ship's cabin. Each scroll case costs 5'000 ryo a piece. Requests to engrave personal emblem or kamon, a different motif as decoration or requests for different materials are more than welcome. Depending on the type of request, prices may be higher than the standard tariff.

Description:
Crafted by the Cartographer Ulfric, this scroll case serves to protect any stored scroll or map against the elements of nature and general hazards. The wood serves to create the simple base design akin to a jewellery box in where five large pieces can be stored. It is then further reinforced with iron around the corners and other weaker sections, and is provided with an iron lock to protect it against curious eyes and eager fingers. As a final touch, the Cartographer has meticulously etched an ornamental design to give it some elegance.

TRAVEL MAPS
Preparing for a road trip? Why not take a geographical map with you. This little piece of advice will allow you to have an easier time travelling the minor and major countries alike, cutting short on travel time by offering better alternative routes. Travel Maps come in two types: a basic variant easily usable for everyone (C-rank) and the more intricate variant for those daring survivalists (B-rank) who aren't shy of coming in with climbing gear and other tools for the rougher roads.
C-rank Travel Maps go for 10'000 ryo a piece; giving you a 2 hour shortcut through a single country.
B-rank Geographical Maps go for 25'000 ryo a piece; giving you a 4 hour shortcut through a single country.

Description:
Drawn by the Cartographer Ulfric, this map is a good companion for any itinerary through the Land of Birds. The exterior of the map is a soft leather cover which adds some weight to the scroll to resist a playful wind and protects the scroll against tearing through regular use. The interior - the map itself - is a large vellum of paper upon which the cartographer has designed several key features.
This map in particular gives an accurate representation of the Land of Birds, and divides the lands in three large regions:
- Valley of Dreams region, to the North
- Spring Gardens region, to the East
- Far Savanna region, to the South
The map reveals important geographical markings such as the proportional size and location of mountains, forests, rivers and natural roads within each region. Important landmarks such as rice fields, small villages and cities have also been marked, giving travellers a good idea where to go. The map does not provide any information about the presence (or lack of) Hidden Villages.
Owning this item reduces the travel time through the Land of Birds by 2 hours; Instead of the usual 12 hours required to travel through this minor country, a character now only requires 10 hours.

Of little importance to the common traveller but invaluable for the warlord is the Strategic Map offered by Ulfric. These critical bits of information offer a grandiose buffet of geographical secrets, hidden landmarks and crucial key points which allow its owner to come up with the best strategies to conquer or defend a country.
A-rank Strategic Maps go for 100'000 ryo a piece; giving the troops under the map owner's command sufficient strategic advantage to have them be considered as 1 rank higher in their combat efficiency.

It offers details of geographically advantageous positions, hidden pathways and underground tunnel networks present within the Lands. The map does not provide any information about the presence (or lack of) Hidden Villages.
With the help of this map, invading or defending NPCs under control of the map owner are considered being one rank higher when resolving their interactions within this Land. This does not apply within Hidden Villages.
