Chen was pleased to see that his attack had left a scar. It'd be a good memento for Mitsukira to take with her for the rest of her days. She'd never forget the price for defying Chen Kimyōnakama. He watched as she stood, ever determined to rise to the challenges that Yui had placed on them. Mitsu went on to preach mercy for criminals. The girl's speech about love and understanding was turning his stomach but his expression did not change. He would not allow the Tsuchikage to listen to such drivel. It angered him that despite the grievous injury she suffered, she was willing to beleive that the world was not a cold and dark place. Chen was convinced that eventually Mitsukira would either turn bitter when she learned the truth of the world or her naivety would get her murdered. Either way, she'd be less of a problem soon enough. Mitsukira then turned and apologized to him. She was sorry for resorting to violence first and lamented her lapse in judgment.
Chen felt abusive words forming in his mouth but he swallowed them. Yui was watching. He could respond but he needed to be measured.
"You were indeed wrong. Don't make the same mistake again."
Chen hoped Mitsu would catch the implicit threat in his tone. He sounded unbothered but she ought to know by now he loathed her perspective. He had nearly killed her and her first instinct was to apologize to him? Weak... he thought to himself. Even the cracking in her voice betrayed it. He wasn't sure what his sensei saw in this woman but whatever it was, most have been great enough to overlook her glaring faults. Chen didn't break eye contact and only looked away from Masaru's lover when Yui began speaking. Chen nodded again in response to her words. It appeared he had misjudged her. She was calmer than reports had led him to beleive, or she really did understand that a steady hand was required for governance. Whatever the case may be, Chen shot Mitsu a final glare before preparing to head out. He stopped when Yui seized up and grabbed her head in pain.
He stopped unsure of what to do and when she turned to address them, a haunting expression crept up his face. He didn't have sensory but he could tell something was wrong. Yui was smiling and Chen detected a change in voice and mannerisms. This entity referred to itself as ID and declared that it now had control over her body.
If this was some kind of joke, Chen wasn't laughing.
ID made it clear that Yui was not to be harmed. Whatever mercy or goodness the blonde possessed was gone. This entity had no compunction about killing them or their loved ones should they disobey her. Chen had none of the latter but he did value his own life and so he made no move to stop ID. When ID winked at him he felt a chill run down his spine. He had been suppressing his fear of the notorious bomber but now it was as plain as day on his face. If Mitsukira saw it then she'd know that she wasn't the only one who felt that emotion. The boy was very much capable of feeling it and in rare moments such as this expressing it. Yui then walked out of the room with her hair changing color as if to signify the shift in personality.
Chen fixed his face and shoot a look at Mitsukira. He despised her weakness but Kureji had already left and thus she was the only other witness to what had just happened. He didn't say a word but it was clear that he was concerned. Iwa was now his base of operations and he could not allow a mad woman to govern it. He'd need to watch Yui closely and find a solution to this startling new development. If that meant getting Mitsu's help then so be it. If the albino had it in her to be stabbed for Iwa then she'd be of some use at least. Chen shook his head and walked out of the room. Over the course of the next few days, Chen would read over the Farfour Accords and other details surrounding its execution. He'd come to know that Yui's husband was a man named Rin Uchiha. The two had a kid in common and from what little he could gather about psychiatry, the prescence of one's loved ones tended to slow the progression of mental illness. Chen wasn't sure Rin's appearance was a cure but given he was scheduled to come to Iwa anyways, Chen decided that now was better than later. He communicated his thoughts to Mitsukira via letter and asked her to go to Konoha to fetch Rin. The two were at odds but this event was bigger than the both of them. He'd need to trust her to get Yui's love back here while he made sure that this "Id" did not undo Masaru's hard work.
